A/N: I'm so sorry for posting this so late, I hadn't had the time due to a mountain of schoolwork. I might not be able to update any time soon so in advance, I am so sorry.

Disclaimer: As we all know I still don't own any of the characters but maybe if I believe hard enough I might get them as a very late Christmas gift.

Chapter 22

Its been a month since Draco had told Harry that he loved him and since then Draco had been receiving gifts from Harry, almost every day! What Harry was doing really made Draco blush most of the time but, honestly, he didn't need the gifts which Harry was giving him. The occasional flowers and chocolates were good, especially the chocolates but Draco would rather have Harry with him but, then again, he couldn't blame Harry for still being awkward; they became enemies at one point, anyway. Draco sighed. He knew that Harry should be focusing on the figuring what the second task would be. Draco was terrified for Harry. He remembered feeling a knot in his stomach when Harry was announced as the fourth competitor of the Triwizard Tournament. No one believed that Harry didn't put his name in the goblet of fire. Everyone was bashing on him, saying it was all for fame. Draco was silently listening to all these taunts. He remembered the hexes their housemates would throw at Harry in the common room. He had winced when he saw how hurt Harry was. He had wanted to go and comfort the boy but he couldn't. They weren't friends, he had to remind himself. Once Draco couldn't stop himself from jinxing the Weasel for hexing Harry with the Hurling hex during Quidditch practice. Draco had jinxed the insufferable git and made him a cockroach for a good two hours. And of course he hadn't gotten in trouble for anything. Draco smirked. The look on the wanker's face when he became human again. He looked better as a cockroach, Draco had reckoned.

It was a week before the Yule Ball. If only there hadn't been a Triwizard Tournament this would have been the year he would be going back to Grimmauld Place with Harry. He had always opted not to go back since he would be with Harry but this time Draco just couldn't wish for anything else, this was supposedly the first Christmas they were going to have together, alone, after 3 years. Draco could still remember their first Christmas together when Harry gave him his broom and...Draco's eyes widened. He hadn't bought a gift for Harry yet! Draco stood up quickly. He needed to find something for Harry, quickly.

Draco was pacing. He had tried talking Snape into allowing him to go to Hogsmeade but the git wouldn't hear any of it. Draco didn't know what to do. He needed to buy something before the holidays or else Harry would see it. He didn't even know what to get! He hadn't been with Harry for so long so he didn't know anything about him. They had been very close before but now, it was like they were beginning again. Draco sat on his bed, attempting to calm himself. He had to relax and find a way. He would have to ask someone close to Harry. He would have to…Granger! She would help him…hopefully. Draco walked quickly out of his room and headed towards the Ravenclaw dormitory. He knew he had to be convincing and nice so that Granger would help him. How would he talk to her? Would the other Ravenclaws even listen to him to call the girl?

"Oomph! I'm sorry!" a worried voice said quickly as Draco collided with someone.

"Watch where you're going!" Draco said annoyed.

"Oh, Draco, um, sorry." Harry mumbled. Draco's eyes widened. He had been so caught up in his thoughts that he didn't know he had collided with Harry. Draco felt heat on his face. He wanted to run away. It was so embarrassing!

"Oh, hey, its okay."

"I needed to ask you something, actually."

"Which is?"

"Um, uh, are you going with anyone to the Yule Ball?"

"Huh?" Draco said dumbly. What was Harry saying? What was he implying? Draco didn't know what to say, really. Harry always left him tongue-tied.

"Um, what I mean is, uh, would you go with me to the Yule Ball?"

"Wait. What?" Yule Ball? With him? Draco was so lost. Wouldn't the whole school see? Wouldn't people from other schools see?

"Well, if you don't want to, i-its okay, I-I guess." Harry stammered.

"I would love to, Harry" Draco said meaningfully and Harry's face lit up "But, everyone would see." Draco continued.

"It doesn't matter. Let them stare. I don't care. I'm not embarrassed by you, Draco. I-I love you, y'know?" Draco stared dumbly at Harry. Harry said he loved him. Draco was floating in his own perfect bubble now and he was too afraid of it popping so he didn't utter a word. He just stared.
