AJ woke up the next morning feeling calm, after she reaches up to feel the necklace around her neck. She was thankful that the mysterious woman didn't take it, because it means so much.
Her phone starting ringing. It was a soft melody, which meant someone sent her a message. She reached over and grabbed her phone off the nightstand.
AJ almost dropped her phone as she was struggling to press the 'view' button. Her hands were shaking. She was nervous. What if the mystery woman sent her a message? AJ hoped she was wrong.
AJ was finally able to click the button, and what popped up was a video.
"Bloody camera. Oh, come on! All I need is for you to work correctly."
AJ laughed, as she realized Paige sent her a video. Clearly, she was having trouble making sure the reverse camera worked, since all AJ could see were fingers.
"There we go. Okay. Ready, set, and record."
Apparently, Paige didn't realize she was already recording, and that made AJ giggle.
"Hey, AJ! I just wanted to be a good friend, and let you know that you don't work today. You are lucky. You didn't have to come in earlier than expected to find out that one of your friends has the day off." Paige said as she pouted. "It's okay, though. I will be waiting for my 'Thank you, Paige' cake, when I come over later today. Oh, no. No. No. No. No. No. Stephanie is coming. I have to go...Paige out!"
AJ could see Stephanie in the background, making funny faces.
"Don't forget about me. Steph out!"
In the video, AJ could see Paige turn around slowly.
"Steph. I am so sorry, I didn't know you were the-"
"It's okay, Paige. Make sure my faces are in there, though." Stephanie said, as she walked away.
"Wait, what?!" Paige whispered quietly at the camera as the video ended.
Well, AJ had nowhere to be today, so she decided to hang out in her home.
A few hours passed, and AJ realized that Paige would be coming later for her cake. AJ got ready, making sure to lock the door as she was heading to a bakery, that was about an hour away from her home.
AJ arrived at the bakery, and got out of the car. She looked up at the sign at the window, which read "Bliss Bakery".
AJ walked in, and looked around the bakery.
"Welcome to Bliss Bakery. I'm Alexa Bliss, the owner of this bakery. Is there anything I can help you with?" asked a short woman, who had the tips of her hair dyed blue.
"Hello. I was wondering if you take last minute requests." AJ said.
"Of course," Alexa said, as she grabbed a pencil, and a piece of paper. "Let's start with the flavor."
"Chocolate."
"Alright. Any specific color of frosting?"
"Purple."
"Okay. Is there a message you want on the cake?"
"Yeah. In black, the words: Thank you, Paige. If you could put a red heart somewhere, I would really appreciate it."
"I can do that. So, what size would you like the cake to be?"
"Definitely small."
"Okay. Is there anything else you would like to add?"
"No."
"Alright. Is there a specific time you need this cake by?" Alexa asked.
"Around 5:30." AJ answered.
"Okay. Well, come back around 5:30, and I'll have your cake ready."
"Thank you so much, Alexa. You're a life saver!" AJ said as she waved goodbye, and walked out of the bakery.
It was almost 5:30, and AJ was a few minutes away from arriving at the bakery.
When AJ arrived she walked right in.
"Hey, girl! I got your cake!" Alexa said. She was holding a cake box, that probably had the cake in it.
"How much will it be?" AJ asked, as she took out her wallet.
"Let's see. Well, it would be between $18 through $24, but I think $18 will do it. So, $18." Alexa said ask she put the cake box on the counter.
AJ handed Alexa a $20 bill. "Here you go. Keep the change. My way of saying 'thank you' for making this cake last minute."
Alexa nodded, and handed AJ the box.
"Come back if you need any other sweets made for you." Alexa shouted as she saw AJ walking out the door, giving her a thumbs up with one of her hands.
AJ walked to the car, and noticed the cake box was a light shade of blue. What made her curious was the catchphrase on the box that looked like it was written in glitter.
'Glitter. Glitz. Sparkle. Bliss.' Although the catchphrase was different -in a good way- from what she has heard before, AJ thought it was actually creative.
AJ walked into her home in a hurry. She definitely didn't want Paige to see her coming home with a cake until now.
"AJ! Open up. I need some of that delicious cake you promised me."
So, Paige was here. Thankfully, AJ made it home before Paige did.
AJ walked to the door, and opened it. She saw Paige standing there, patiently waiting to get some cake.
"Come on." AJ said, letting Paige inside.
"Where is it?" Paige asked.
AJ pointed at the dining table. Paige walked toward the table, and opened the cake box.
"It's so beautiful. AJ, you're the best friend ever!" Paige exclaimed as shs hugged AJ. Maybe, a little too tightly for AJ's liking.
"Paige. Need. Breath." AJ managed to say.
"I'm so sorry. Will a beautiful girl accept a piece of this beautiful cake?" Paige asked.
AJ blushed a little bit, but nodded.
"You were blushing. Is it because -I don't know...maybe- Punk calls you beautiful?" Paige teased.
"Shut up. Can I have some cake now?" AJ asked, quickly changing the subject.
Paige nodded as she took a knife, forks, and plates from the kitchen.
"Bloody cake tastes so good. Is it okay if I take the rest of it home?" Paige asked.
"It's your 'Thank you, Paige' cake. Which you clearly deserve." AJ replied, slightly sarcastic.
"I do deserve it, but I'm heading home 'cause I am tired, and it's 7:35. Bye, AJ." Paige said as she hugged AJ.
"Bye, Paige." AJ replied, as she hugged back.
Paige went home, and AJ was alone now. She just hoped that Punk would come by sometime today, before she goes to bed.
AJ was laying down on the couch. She was starting to fall asleep, since the house was silent.
"AJ." A voice whispered.
AJ jumped, and hit someone in the face. Could you blame her? There was a mysterious woman making her life difficult, and if this woman just broke into her house, then she deserved the punch to the face.
"Ow." The voice said.
AJ rubbed her eyes a bit, and realized who she just hit in the face.
"I'm so sorry, Punk. I didn't know it was you. Are you okay?" AJ asked as she studied Punk's face.
"I'm fine," Punk said, as he looked at AJ, and smiled. "Just be a little gentle next time."
AJ frowned, and stuck her tongue out at Punk.
"Maybe you deserve it."
Punk put his hand over his heart, and pouted.
"Don't give me that look. It's almost 11:30. How else would I react?"
"True, but I came because I wanted to know how you're doing. Is everything okay?" Punk asked, his voice full of concern.
"To be honest...no." replied AJ.
"What's going on?"
Punk and AJ sat on the couch.
"Well, there's this woman, I don't know who she is, but she's sent me a letter. There was a time where she called me, and yesterday she attacked me," AJ explained, even though her voice cracked a little. "She didn't do much, because a woman named Tamina helped me out. All I know is that the woman wants me to stay away from you. Punk, I'm scared. What if she does something worse?"
Punk let out a low sigh, and took AJ's hand in his.
"Beautiful, we'll go through this together. We've been through so much," Punk said, his free hand went to the necklace AJ had around her neck. "You aren't alone. I'm here. I got you, AJ."
Punk saw AJ trying to wipe some tears away, so he wrapped his arms around her, comforting the woman he loves.
Finally! AJ tells Punk about what has been going on, but will there be consequences?
