Ren grunted angrily, tapping his finger on the table. He had propped up his chin and was staring towards the door, every once in a while looking down at his watch. Where was she? Ren sat in the breakfast room, waiting for Haruka's entrance. She was half an hour late to breakfast and the food was getting cold. Still, he would not start without her. It was customary for him to only eat when everyone was present, so both plates of food would be inedible soon. Still, he waited for her. Though, he was getting impatient.
He let out a third huff and let himself fall back onto the back of his chair. He was tired from staying up all night. He had found himself thinking about Haruka so long that he had to work extra to get back on schedule, and now his eyes were heavy and bags hung under the blue-gray orbs. Ren was about to snap and go over to Haruka's room. She must have overslept, but Ren found it rather annoying. She hadn't missed breakfast even once since they were married and now, after three years, she happened to be missing the only Ren so far that was angered by this.
Just as he moved to stand up, the door opened. Well it was about time. He played it cool, beginning to eat his food. Cold. It was rather cold.
"I hope you have a good explanation for this, Haruka. It is expected for you to be punctual in the morning, now your food will go cold-..." Ren put down his knife and form, feeling a vein pop out. He wiped his mouth and angrily threw his napkin. "Tomochika," He addressed the personal assistant, crossing his arms. "Where is Haruka? Why isn't she here? There better be a good reason she's missing breakfast." Ren huffed.
"Get off your high horse, Ren." Tomochika snapped. "And what did you do with Haruka?" Ren lifted his head, a baffled look crossing his face. What did he do with her? What was she talking about? He hadn't seen her since the day before.
"I don't know what your talking about. Stop throwing accusations around." Ren huffed, pushing his food away. There went his appetite.
"I know you did something because Haruka is gone!" Tomochika cried, holding back tears in her eyes. Ren looked up at her, a serious look coloring his face.
"What-" Ren stood up, looking directly into her eyes. "-Did you just say?"
"She's gone- long gone! She could be miles-"
"She ran away?" Ren asked, eyes wide with surprise. Was she even capable of such a thing? He knew that she hated it here but never in his wildest dreams did he expect for her to just get up and leave.
"It's what I'm saying!" Tomochika said, rubbing her temples. "She ran away from home."
"When?" Ren asked, looking slightly alarmed.
"I don't know, some time last night I guess." Tomochika shrugged, beginning to pace. "You must have said something to her to make her leave suddenly." Tomochika concluded.
"No, I said nothing rude or offensive yesterday!" Ren hissed, leaving the breakfast table and rushing past Tomochika. She let him through, knowing just where he was headed. Ren rushed down the hallway to Haruka's room. He tore open the door and looked around the room, searching through everything. Tomochika leaned against the door frame, watching as Ren panicked, trying to find her throughout her room.
"You won't find her." Tomochika said, shaking her head.
"Well there has to be some clue as to where she's going. Where would she go?" Ren asked her, causing Tomochika to scoff.
"You're her husband, shouldn't you know?" Tomochika hissed, crossing her arms. Ren scowled at her, standing up.
"Of course not, this marriage was strictly business. Why mix personal life into business?" Ren questioned, growling angrily at Tomochika.
"Because Har-chan was a sweet girl, and if you ever showed her kindness than you would know how kind hearted she was. You didn't deserve her." Tomochika growled, causing Ren to snap.
"Yes! I know! I'm a huge ass and a fuck up, now help me look for clues!" Ren demanded, his face red with fury. Tomochika stared at him, eyes wide in astonishment. He knew how badly he treated her? Tomochika sighed, shaking her head.
"Hey," She said, grabbing his eyes. "Trash can." She said, sitting on the floor. Ren turned to the trash can, finding it full of crumpled papers. Ren rushed over to it, beginning to pour them out as Tomochika watched. He tug through the trash like a rat, opening all of the papers, throwing the useless ones back into the trash and keeping the important ones by him. He stopped suddenly, burying his nose into one of the papers.
"It's a list of places she could go." Ren said, handing it to Tomochika. "Which do you think she would have run too?" Tomochika looked over the paper, grabbing a pencil and circling a few things on the list.
"Well Haru-chan is smart enough to not go home so quickly, so we can count that out. Most of these hotels look way too fancy for her and she would want somewhere cheap but livable. So I would say one of these would be the right choice." Tomochika slid over to Ren and showed him the sheet of paper. Ren nodded, looking it over and memorizing the paper's place list, taking it from Tomochika to get a better look.
"Alright, lets go." Ren said, standing up and quickly heading out of the room.
"Where are you going?" Tomochika cried out to him. Ren stopped and turned around, anger in his eyes.
"To call out a search party of course. What else could I do?" Ren huffed, stomping away. Tomochika smiled, shaking her head.
"I think Haru-chan has a secret admirer." Tomochika giggled. "Sorry Haru-chan, I know I promised to keep him in the dark as long as I could, but I just couldn't help it. You two make such a cute couple and I had to know what he would think."
