Legolas sat on the edge of Tauriel's bed in the infirmary. The healers had finally gotten the bleeding to stop, but she had not yet woken up. They had come to the conclusion that her fainting was caused by exhaustion and blood loss.

Legolas was beside himself with grief. How could he have done this to her? What was he thinking?

But that was just it, he wasn't.

He was so caught up in concentration and anger with his father that he had forgotten he was dueling with his dear Tauriel, not an orc.

The prince took one of Tauriels hands and clasped it between both of his. He held it to his forehead and closed his eyes. A few moments later he felt a presence beside him, he knew it was Thranduil. Without opening his eyes nor moving Tauriels hand, Legolas said. "Are you happy now?" Thranduil sighed. "May I sit?" He asked. Legolas replied harshly. "You are the king, you may do what you want." It was already getting difficult for Thranduil to control his patience. He slowly sat down beside his son.

"Do you recall all of those things you claimed that I woudn't understand earlier?" Thranduil began. He paused and waited for Legolas to answer. Being none, he continued. "You are forgetting, my son, that I felt all of those things and more for your mother." Legolas pursed his lips. His father was right. How could he have forgotten about his mother?

"If you understand, than why have you forbidden me from loving Tauriel?" Legolas snapped.

"I was wrong, I will admit. I had to think back on what it was like to love your mother. I had forgotten what love felt like." Legolas looked up at last. Praying that his father would give him his blessing. His hope was soon broken when Thranduil said, "But, your mother was of royal blood. Not some commoner." Legolas opened his mouth to speak but Thranduil cut him off sharply. "I do not care if she is a high rank in the Gaurd, she is still a commoner and I will not have you with her. And might I add that I know what love is far more than you do. I will assure you it is not love you feel for Tauriel." Legolas' face turned red with rage. Thank you...thank you, father, for reminding me of what you desire. Is it your will that I hurt her again? Because the anger that was in me from our previous conversation is what caused her injury in the first place! You say this is not love?" Legolas was shouting and crying at the same time, his cheeks wet with tears. "You say, what you are witnessing now is not love?! Tell me father, how are the tears on my face that I am shedding because I don't know if my beautiful captain will wake up not love? Explain that to me, or leave me! Because I do not care what you say anymore! You may be my king...but you are not the king of my heart." Legolas finished, trembling with rage and tears. Thranduil stood without a word and strode off. His robes sweeping behind.

Legolas was left alone with his captain. He bent over her and kissed her forehead. All he wanted at this moment was to see her green eyes flash open, and her radiant smile spread across her face. The princes eyes filled with tears. He sat staring out the window, silent tears streaming down his face. Suddenly, Tauriel's rhythmic breathing quickened, a cough escaped her lips. Legolas snapped his head to look at her, and as he had hoped, her green eyes flashed open, and she smiled. "Hello, prince." Her voice laced with playfulness. "Next time we duel, do be more careful." Legolas smiled and laughed. His teeth were as white as the moon, his eyes still teary. He picked up Tauriel and held her, she held him back with an almost urgent grip. After he had set her back down he took hold of both of her shoulders and looked into her eyes. "Tauriel, you cannot fathom how sorry I am. If I would have cut any deeper I could've killed you...I could never live with that. I-" Tauriel put a finger to his lips. Hush, melleth nin, it is all behind us. Now, what do you say we go to your chambers?"

"Will they let you walk, or go for that matter?" Legolas asked.

"No, but I shall leave when I please. I can manage the walking well enough." She sat up in her bed and began to rise, but the moment she put weight on her injured leg she winced. Tauriel would have fallen back down had Legolas not supported her. "No, no, I'll be fine." She protested, wanting to provide for herself. "Here," Legolas said. He picked her up princess style as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "What say you to this?" He finished with a grin. "I say just this once prince," Tauriel replied. "You know I prefer taking care of myself."

"As you wish." Legolas chuckled. He took off, and carried his captain all the way to his chambers.

Legolas entered his chamber and carefully set Tauriel on his bed, which was covered in luxurious silk sheets. Tauriel looked around the room in interest. As if she had never been in it before, though she had.

"Tauriel," Legolas began." Now will you show me how you really feel? Without holding back because of my father?" He asked. Doing exactly what he was forbidden to do. Tauriel questioned. " Legolas, I love you, and you have my heart. I am just afraid...what about the king?" Legolas smirked. "You need not worry about him any longer. He said. Legolas knew that he was saying that Thranduil's opinion didn't matter to him anymore, but Tauriel took it as that the king had given permission. In result of thinking this was the truth she readily replied. "If it is your wish, my love."

The words were barely out of her mouth before Legolas pulled her in and kissed her for the second time. Tauriel relaxed this time. However, Legolas didn' t overdo it in case he made her uncomfortable. He pulled away after a few seconds.

Tauriels green eyes shone up at him with a look of approval. He lifted her face to his to kiss her again. She wound her arms around his neck and ran her fingers through his silvery-blonde hair. He sat his hands on her slim waist and deepened the kiss. Their kiss was interrupted by a knock on the door. Legolas broke away reluctantly, and mumbled in Elvish under his breath; clearly annoyed. "What is it?" He asked. A messenger answered from the other side. "Your friend, Amiros, wishes to talk to you sir. He says to meet him in the great hall." Legolas rolled his eyes. "And why should I do his bidding if I, the prince, am in the middle of something?" He smiled and winked at Tauriel, who giggled soflty. She was tickled by the fact that the something the prince was in the middle of was, in fact, kissing her. "He says it is of great importance sir." The messenger answered. Legolas sighed. "Very well. Thank you." The messengers footsteps were heard disappearing down the corridor. Legolas let go of Tauriel, and began to leave, but not before he turned back. "I will meet you back here?" He asked, lifting his eyebrows. Tauriel smiled and nodded. Legolas grinned, and left.

So how'd I do? Lol. Let me know if you have any suggestions for where you want this to go. Thanks!
