Haruka could not believe what was happening. Ren had come to get her and bring her home, demanding she never leave him like that again. It made her so happy to know he cared about her so much and she thought things would get better for her for then on. She even wondered if she may learn to love this man she called her spouse. She was so happy.
And then... she wasn't.
He wasn't there.
For almost an entire week he ignored her. He never spoke to her, he did not even eat breakfast with her like he use to. It nearly broke her heart to know he wasn't trying again. Lucky Tomochika made the pain more bearable by being with her all day. Tomochika was on of the best friends she had made, but with the sudden lack in other people around her, the house felt very lonely again.
She missed Mimiko and Otoya playing games with her, and Masato and Tokiya talking to her everyday. It was nice to be with them. It was nice being with Tomochika as well, but the clothing she forced on Haruka was less enjoyable than the clothes Mimiko forced on her and the clothes she received from Masato. She still had a kimono from Masato, the one she wore when Ren brought her home, but other then that, her clothes were back to dresses.
She still just couldn't believe he would do this again. She was, dare she say, angry about it. And for once, she was going to speak her mind! She marched down the hallways in search of her 'loving husband'. Truthfully, she was wandering aimlessly in hopes that she would run into his room or his office at the very least. She turned corridor after corridor, searching desperately for him, knowing that even if she turned around now, she was lost, there was no way to go back anymore.
She was dressed in something besides for a dress for once, thank god. It felt nice to be in something else. She was dressed in a yellow tank top with flower designs on it that went down past her rear. The shoulder straps were lacy in flower patterns- same with the bottom rim. The flower designs were done in small beads. She wore aqua blue leggings with them.
She kept looking for the nice, long hallway she found before with the carpeted floors, guessing he was most likely in his office at this hour.
She turned corner after turning down as many as she could find, and soon found herself in a familiar hallway, carpeted with brown carpet. Small windows ran down it's side and pictures of the generations of Jingujis hung on the walls. Haruka let you a sigh of relief, placing her hand on her chest. Thank goodness- she finally found it.
She ran down the hallway in excitement, finally stopping in front of the door to gather down her nerves. At least she had thought it through before coming here, unlike in the past. She stepped forward and placed her hand on the door knob. It was cold to the touch, but she turned it and twisted it quietly, opening the door quietly. the door, luckily, still didn't make any noise when she entered. However, this time, when she opened the door, she walked into a wall of cold air, chilling her skin. She shivered, running her hands over her arms.
By now, Ren, who sat inside, glasses loosely hanging from his nose, had noticed her entrance, eyes wide in surprise. He reached up and pulled his glasses from his nose, running his fingers through his hair and placing his papers down on the desk. He cleared his voice and spoke with caution.
"Nanami-san, what are you doing here?" Nanami-san?! Not even Masato called her that anymore!
"I was just wondering where you were." Haruka said nicely. Suddenly, all at once, all of her strong determination disappeared as he brushed his long, blond hair.
"Well, you found me."
"Yes I did." They just kind of stayed still for a while, staring at each other.
"Anything else?"
"O-Oh, yes- definitely!" She cried, causing him to finch in surprise of her outburst. "S-sorry, it's just that... I was wondering where you were all this time. I haven't seen you in almost a week." Haruka pointed out.
"R-right!" Ren said, oddly loud before burying his face in a pile of papers. "I-It's just I've been busy making up for the work I missed when I was looking for you." Haruka felt a little stab. Great, somehow now I'm the one feeling guilty.
"O-Oh, okay. Do you have a lot?"
"It's beginning to thin." Ren answered.
"Then how about a brake?" Haruka asked, walking over to him.
"No, I'm fine."
"But I haven't seen you in a week. We could talk a little over some cakes." Haruka suggested. Please work! Ren lowed his head farther into him work.
"No, I'm fine." Ren said, swallowing.
"But-"
"Nanami-san, I'm sorry, but could you please leave." Haruka froze on her journey to reach Ren, staring wide eyed at him. He was kicking her out of his office? Haruka almost wanted to cry. So nothing really had changed between them. Suddenly Haruka felt her anger build up again and she clenched her teeth, stomping over to him. Ren jumped back when Haruka's hands collided with the desk in front of him. His heart nearly stopped as he looked up into her narrowed eyes, full of abnormally, passionate fire.
"Well, whatever! Why the hell am I back her if I'm just going to be ignored again?! I thought maybe thing had changed between us, but I was wrong!" Haruka shouted. She turned on her heals and began to stomp out of the room, still fuming angrily.
Just as she was about to leave the room, she heard a loud bang and turned around to see Rn punching his desk.
"Well what the hell am I supposed to even freaking say to you?! How do I talk to my wife who just RAN AWAY FROM HOME!?" Ren yelled, panting. Haruka looked down and away from him, standing still. Ren took a moment to catch his breath and sighed.
"...I'm sorry." Haruka choked out, wiping a tear out of her eye. It was true, she couldn't expect him to know how to feel about something like this. She was the one who ran away from home, and he was apparently so worried that he didn't get a chance to do any work- work that is taking him a week to finish. What, did she expect her like to be rainbows and flowers from then on?
"No, I'm sorry." Ren sighed. He pulled away from his papers, running his hands through his hair. "I shouldn't have yelled. And I guess I was ignoring you too." Ren admitted, pulling his hands in his face. They waited in silence for the other to say something, second ticking by on Ren's clock, which stood proudly on his wall.
"Jinguji-san, why did you bring me back?" Haruka asked.
"It's because you're my wife-"
"Not that!" She huffed, crossing her arms. "Why did you really? If that was the only reason, I wouldn't have been such a distraction, and you wouldn't have gotten me personally then." Haruka pointed out.
"Well, you ran away. You never tried anything like that before- it's was worrying... besides, you're so clumsy, I thought you'd get lost." Haruka blushed, Ren hitting her right on the mark.
"I-I can take care of myself!" Haruka claimed, Ren giving her a really slow nod. "You don't believe me, do you?!"
"Nope, not even a little bit." Ren smirked, Haruka sticking out her tongue out at him. Ren chuckled, shaking his head. His wife was cute.
Haruka stopped her children and stared at Ren. He looked back, eyebrows knit together. He starred in her eyes at her odd irises- a light green he found so fascinating. Haruka watched him, deep in thought. He wondered what was going on inside of her head at the time- whatever it was, is seemed important.
"Jinguji-san... can we... start over?" Haruka asked, looking down. Ren clocked his head to the side, confused.
"Why, I mean, the conversation is going just fine now-"
"That's not what I meant!" Haruka said, slapping a hand over her mouth and blushing. "W-what I meant was, well..." Haruka took a deep breath and walked towards him again.
Ren watched quietly as she approached him, hands clenched in determination. She took a deep breath and let it out, opening her eyes and smiling at him. She held out her hand to him and smiled. "H-Hello. M-my name if Haruka Nanami, it's very nice to meet you." She said with a blush, hand shaking slightly.
Ren sat there, pleasantly surprised with her. Start over- she meant the relationship. Ren stared back at her, watching and her other hand fiddled with her shirt. She looks prettier in that yellow top then her normal dresses. He thought, smiling. Finally, he held out his own hand to her, lightly grabbing her own.
"Ren Jinguji. And likewise."
OMG, I did it! I made everyone think that things were gonna go bad and then things went great! Okay, so we've finally reached the second part of the fanfiction- and no, that doesn't mean that it is only half over, this part is (hopefully) much shorter. But now we've reached the part that it's finally getting happier.
I do know how I'm ending this, but I'm gonna wing it up to that point. If you guys have any more suggestions of things that these two can do together or have to go through together, let me know in the comments.
I hope you are all enjoying this and will continue to be great followers!
