Tauriel exited the princes chambers and wandered the halls. She seldom had a whole day off and didn't quite know what to do with herself. She passed the entrance to the throne room, but stopped behind the cover of the door when she heard the king talking.

"Are you not worried about him?" Asked a voice that Tauriel couldn't quite place. One of Thranduil's mercenaries, no doubt.

"No. He will get over this. He knows better than to let anger rule his mind." Replied Thranduil calmly.

"I've always though him to have a rebellious side my lord, if it is not too bold to say. Are you not afraid he will defy you?"

"I am not afraid of my own flesh and blood! He knows I have absoloute power. I am sure this will be over directly. Now, if you would leave me, I have other matters to attend to."

Tauriel listened as the footsteps faded ou the other entrance. She lingered in the shadows pondering what she had heard. No doubt they were talking about Legolas. But why was he so angry. Did the anger she saw when he cut her leg relate to this? More importantly, did any of it concern her?

"Why do you hide Tauriel?" Thranduils voice came from within the throne room. Tauriel had no choice but to step out from behind the door and enter Thranduil's presence. "I was simply waiting for you to finish you former conversation. She said with a confident look on her face. Though she did not feel so inside.

"What did you hear?" the king inquired.

"Only a few sentences. Of which none seemed to matter if I heard or not. I haven't the slightest idea of whom you were talking about.

"But you do. You know very well who it was."

"Sire I assure-"

"I saw what happened today." Thranduil interrupted. He seemed to be fond of doing so. "What happened in Legolas' chambers is not unknown to me." Tauriel wasn't at all sure what to make of this. Legolas had told her the king had approved. Is Thranduil mad?

"My...my lord, Legolas told me you had approved." She stammered.

"No, you took his words and assumed you knew what they meant. I assure you that you are wrong. And I will have you know that if you do not stop this behavior and I catch you and my son in his antics again there will be more consequences than a simple conversation. Is this understood, captain?" His eyes drilled Tauriel, who was at a loss for words.

"Y..yes sire. It will not happen again...I apologize." She bowed quickly and rushed out of the room. Behind her Thranduil stood regally, his hands behind his back, a devious smile spread across his face.

Tauriel sprinted back to Legolas' chambers. Bumping into a few elves along the way. She burst through his doors and found him lying on his bed, arms behind his head. He smiled upon her arrival, bright eyes gleaming.

"Legolas!" Tauriel shouted. "Your father! He...he said..." She desperately tried to explain through her panic. Legolas' smile fell from his face. He gathered Tauriel in his arms. "Legolas...Thranduil forbid...Why didn't you tell me? He says there will be consequences! He saw everything! Why-" Legolas quieted her by pulling her head to his chest. She was nearly to the point of hyperventilation. Legolas stroked her long, fiery red hair and pulled her close to himself. He felt her trembling beneath his hands. "Shhhhh, shh. Everything will be alright my love. Now calm yourself, and tell me what happened." He said quietly.

"Thranduil said he saw us in here earlier. He says if he discovers us together like that again there will be consequences. Legolas, you told me I no longer had to worry. Did I misunderstand you?"

"Tauriel," Legolas took her face in his hands. "I do not care what he says. He told me I was forbidden to be with you, but he cannot control my feelings. I will readily face whatever consequences he brings forth. Tauriel, all I need, is you."

"But-" Tauriel began. Legolas quieted her with a short kiss. "Do not worry, he only has so much power." He kissed her again, longer this time. " Tauriel, I will know you have thrown away what my father has told you, when you kiss me first..."

/

Thranduil hid himself in the place where he could see through a crack in the wood into Legolas' chamber. If Tauriel decided to kiss his son, the repercussions wouldn't be light. He crouched, waiting and watching, as Legolas held Tauriel. A moment later, Tauriel pulled Legolas' lips to hers. Thranduils eyes widened at the the thought that Tauriel had done the unthinkable.

So? What do you think will happen next? ;) Next chapter almost done so update will probably be tomorrow. However if you tell me soon I can always make changes if you have an idea.
