Authors note: Here we go! Hope you guys like it!

In the later part of the afternoon, Legolas and Tauriel reached the mountain pass that lay between them and Rivendell. It had begun to snow lightly, which was no surprise since they were climbing to higher ground. Tauriel none the less muttered under her breath about the weather. Legolas brought Arod to a halt at the base of the trail that ascended up the rocky slope, and stated, "We will have to walk with him. There isn't a chance he will be able to make up up with us riding." They dismounted and began the climb.

An hour or so later, the snow had become quite deep. Their visibility was close to none. Legolas shielded his eyes with one hand, and with the other held Tauriel's hand, who in turn held the horse. The snow drilled relentlessly against their faces. Legolas knew they should rest until the blizzard passed. There was absolutely no use trudging on at a rate of ten feet per minute. He turned and yelled to Tauriel over the howling wind. "Stay here. I'll go on ahead and see if there isn't a cave nearby." They had probably passed dozens already, they were all over the mountain. Tauriel nodded to Legolas, shivering. She huddled near to their horse, trying to give it and herself any warmth she could. Fifteen minutes passed and Legolas came back into view. He took Tauriel's hand and led them onward. "Not far around this bend." He said.

At last they all squeezed inside the cave entrance. There was plenty of room. and it was well shielded from the wind and snow. Legolas started a fire while Tauriel put out some oats for Arod. They were both frozen to their skin despite the heavy clothing. Legolas pulled out a blanket and motioned for Tauriel to come sit near the fire. He wrapped the blanket around both of their shoulders and put his arms around her. The two sat in silence for a moment and watched the flames of the fire with unknown intention. Legolas suddenly realized he was getting quite hungry. As if on queue his stomach grumbled. Tauriel smirked and tried to stifle a giggle. Legolas noticed her grin. "Oh go ahead and laugh!" He said busting up himself. Tauriel laughed out loud this time. "Hungry much?" She said sarcastically, getting some lembas bread out of their packs. Legolas smiled while eating it. "You have been smiling so much lately." Tauriel pointed out. He was normally much more subdued and serious, but not stern nor rough. He had always been especially gentle with Tauriel. Nevertheless, Tauriel enjoyed seeing his brilliant smile more than once each day. Legolas tried his best to fake his former, stiffer expression. "I shall go back to serious then, if that is what you want." He retorted. Tauriel smacked him lightly on the arm. "Allow me to rephrase that: It is wonderful, to see you smile so much. Legolas." He chuckeld, hen pulled her face to his and kissed her out of the blue. Afterwards Tauriel asked. "What was that for?" Legolas grinned, taking both of her hands in his. "That, lirimaer, was for being the one who makes me smile so much."

Tauriel blushed. "Legolas.." He put a finger to her lips. "Say that again." He requested.

"Legolas? why?"

"The way you say my name is different from anyone else. When you say it it becomes...more than it is. Every time I hear it roll off your tongue, I want to hear it again." He explained softly. Tauriel smiled at the thought that she could do such things without even knowing it. "Well then, when I speak with you I shall use your name more often, Legolas." She said, putting emphasis on his name. He grinned, and kissed her lightly, but it left them both wanting another kiss. Legolas held her tightly as he kissed her again. Tauriel's felt their way up to his hair and undid his braid. She took a deep breath through her nose. Legolas smelled like the forest, despite their trek through many terrains. As she continued to play with his soft, blonde hair, Legolas deepened their kissing and pulled her onto his lap. He left her lips and kissed her cheek. Having a moment to say something Tauriel whispered. "I never thought that I would be loved by the prince of Mirkwood." Legolas pulled away momentarily and said. "And I never thought i would love anyone at all. Then I found love in you, and somehow I've gotten to be here." He pulled her to him again. As he kissed her Tauriel let herself relax in it all. At some point they both began to get tired. The last thing she remembered was falling alseep with her head in Legolas' lap.

Ok so that last part was a little tough to write for me. I always want to write scenes like that but I feel like I make it the same thing over and over. Let me know how I did! If you are good at those types of scenes or just have any ideas go ahead and PM me with them or just leave them in a review. Thank you for reading! Next chapter in a few days.
