Authors note: So what will Elrond do? Will he welcome them or rebuke them? Read to find out! Hope you guys enjoy :)

Legolas pulled Arod to a halt. A sentry immediately marched forward. "State your business, please." He commanded. Then, upon noticing precisely who the blonde elf astride the horse was, he dipped his head in a bow. "Prince Legolas, forgive me, I was certainly not expecting you. Does Lord Elrond know of your coming?" He asked graciously. Legolas replied. "You have done no harm, there is no need to apologize, though I thank you. Lord Elrond knows nothing of my coming. If he is present would you please let him know that I have arrived and would speak with him if possible?" The sentry nodded and smiled. "Straight away, my lord."

Legolas and Tauriel dismounted. Moments later the sentry returned with Lord Elrond. Legolas nodded respectfully.

"Mellonamin, it has been some time."

"That it has Legolas, it is good to see you. Tell me though, what has brought you to Rivendell? And whom is this maiden who stands beside you?" Elrond asked, very pleased to see Legolas.

Legolas took a deep breath and explained. "My lord, the reason we have come is a bit of a long story. This is Tauriel, she served as captain of the Guard in Mirkwood. We have been very close friends all our lives." Lord Elrond nodded in understanding. "It is my pleasure to meet you, Tauriel." Tauriel bowed low. "Thank you, but the pleasure is all mine to meet you, my lord."

Elrond continued. "Well then, perhaps we can discuss things further over supper. Until then, I will have your mount put in the stables and the both of you can rest. I am sure you need it." Legolas smiled. "That would be excellent." With that, Elrond began giving a variety of orders to servants. The horse to be stabled, a grand dinner to be prepared, rooms for Legolas and Tauriel, and so on. Soon Legolas found himself bathed, changed into his typical ensemble, and knocking on Tauriel's door to see if she was ready. She opened the door and Legolas gave her a playful smirk. "Shall we dine?" He asked, offering her his arm. She nodded, smiling in return, and took his arm. And in walking down the grand hallways of Rivendell, her arm linked with the prince, she almost felt royal herself.

They were ushered to a pavilion, a mahogany table with eight matching chairs stood in the centre. Upon the table were bowls of greens and fruits, and platters of rolls and baguettes. At the head of the table sat Elrond. He smiled upon their entrance and motioned to two places beside him. Each place was set with a silver plate and utensils, a silk napkin and a crystal goblet. Legolas, still linking arms with Tauriel, pulled out a chair for her as she sat down. He then sat in the seat nearest Elrond. The elven lord motioned to the table. "Enjoys yourselves!" he encouraged. Tauriel took for herself a helping o salad and a couple of dinner rolls. Legola poured himself a glass of wine and offered Tauriel some, which she accepted. "Legolas, you seem to have become quite the gentleman since we last met." Elrond observed. Legolas nodded. "I have learned a thing or two since Tauriel and I have been...well, together." Elrond mused over this. "Perhaps you would like to elaborate on what you mean by 'together', and maybe that has something to do with your presence here." He asked. "Of course, my lord." Legolas started. He explained in detail how he and Tauriel grew to love each other. Then how Thranduil reacted, warning Tauriel and eventually threatening to kill her. He then gave a more brief explanation of their journey to present. Upon finishing, Elrond raised an eyebrow. "So in essence, you are asking to make here, Rivendell, your new home?" Elrond questioned. Legolas winced, not being able to read Elrond's mood just yet. His face may have been less than prince-like. Elrond, noticing Legolas' nervousness, let out a hearty laugh.

"Then I say welcome! You will always have a home here Legolas. I have loved you like a son since your mother and father brought you here as an elfling. And if you truly love Tauriel, whether she is a sylvan elf or royalty makes no difference to me. She is as much welcomed as you are. I will see to getting you more permanent chambers. If there is anything else you might need, please, do not hesitate to ask." The two young elves nodded most respectfully and smiled bright as they were dismissed.

I personally think Elrond is pretty awesome :) Anywho, I am so exited to post the next chapter when it's done because (I think) it will be really good. I hope you guys think the same after you read it. Due to my enthusiasm about it, it will be posted very soon!
