Sigh, I've been so busy I only had time to write for 45 minutes this week. So pitiful. I apologize to any Canadians in advance, I was tired of blaming my own country for stupidity. I do not own Yugioh, enjoy!
Chapter 24
Yugi ran, stumbling through the halls. He picked random hallways to turn down, until he was hopelessly lost. He didn't know where he was nor how to get back to the room. So picking a random door and opening it, Yugi disappeared inside. He stepped further into the room that was lined with so many shelves filled with books, upon books. They had a library?
Yugi walked amongst the shelves touching the books, and looking at titles. Yugi found a cozy corner, and made sure to put up a mental wall, before sitting down with the book he found on the Egyptian language and cultures. He was halfway through the exciting book when two shadows loomed over him. From the angry vibes coming off of them, Yugi felt even less inclined to look up, than he already did. Atem squatted down and hooked a finger under his chin forcing him to look up. They connected eyes, amethyst to crimson, before amethyst looked away.
"Now I know you know what you did was wrong." Atem said quietly. Yugi bit his lip but didn't say anything.
"Yugi, you owe Yami an apology." Atem said sternly. Yugi glanced up at Yami, before looking back down at the rug. He very slowly brought his mental barrier down.
"I didn't actually hit him." Yugi mumbled.
"You tried, now apologize." Atem said sternly.
I'm sorry, Yami.
"Good, now what are you reading?" Atem asked sitting down next to him. Yugi frowned, wasn't this the part where they were supposed to apologize?
"What do we need to apologize for?" Yami asked. Yugi scoffed, glaring at the man before picking up his book and attempting to leave the library with it. He hit an invisible barrier in the doorway and was thrown back into some shelves whose books cascaded down onto him.
"YUGI!" they shouted together. Yugi shoved the books off of him, he'd heard of being buried in a good book, but this was ridiculous. They pulled him from the heap, and Atem's hands wandered all over him like a worried mother about their small child. Atem's hands stopped at Yugi's thought and put them back at his sides a little stiffly.
"Oh, I see why the spells protested, he was trying to take one of these books out." Yami said picking up the book that had fallen from his hands when he'd been thrown.
"Gold tag?" Atem asked walking over to him.
"Yep, bright and shining." Yami said flashing it at him. Yugi attempted to sneak past them and out the door while they were distracted with the book, but they both reached out a hand grasping one of his shoulders as he passed.
"I'll go put it back." Atem said.
"Now, why do we need to apologize?" Yami asked shoving Yugi against the door frame.
"Because I was trying to punish you, and you wouldn't let me." Yugi said looking away.
"And punishment is something that isn't enjoyed, correct?" Yami asked trailing a hand down his neck oh so lightly.
"Y-yes." Yugi stuttered shoving himself further against the door frame. Yami wasn't bothered; he just followed Yugi, pressing his body up against his.
"I think we've already covered that with your little stunt in the bedroom." Yami whispered into his ear.
"N-no, you should have let go. That was to get you to let go." Yugi said turning his head away.
"I still didn't enjoy it." Yami whispered his breath caressing his ear.
"Please." Yugi begged.
"Please what?" Yami asked smirking.
"S-stop." Yugi said.
"What?" Yami asked pulling away.
"Stop, I don't want to hurt you." Yugi said. Yami's eyes trailed down to his small fists, clenched, knuckles white. Quicker than Yugi had time to react, Yami had grabbed his wrists, and held them with one hand above his head.
"That's not going to happen." Yami whispered harshly in his ear. Yugi cried and squirmed, Yami was holding his wrists too tightly, bending the bones in ways and directions that they weren't supposed to go.
"Yami! No!" Atem shouted but he was too late in pulling him off. A resounding double snap echoed throughout the quiet place. Yugi gasped in tiny sobs, as he stared at his two lifeless wrists that seared pain throughout his system. He sunk to his knees, hitting the hard ground softly, as he tried not to jostle his wrists too much. He'd done it again, in a moment of irrational emotions, he had broken Yugi's wrist, only this time it was both of them. He looked from them to Yami, who was staring at him in horror.
"Yugi I…" Yami trailed off.
Tears slipped down his face as he stood up cradling his wrists to his chest as he set off in search of Isis. She would fix them, she'd fixed his wrist before, and she could heal these ones too, right? He sure hoped so. He didn't know if he could stand the pain of his wrists slowly healing. Yugi walked to the end of the hallway, and recognizing it turned right. He turned left at the next hallway, and entered the door half way down on the left side.
"Isis." He said his voice barely rising above a whisper in his pain.
"Yes, Yu-what happened?" she asked cutting off her greeting as she took in his broken wrists.
"He broke them, again, he broke them." Yugi sobbed holding them out.
"Okay, hold still." She said placing one of her hands over his left wrist, healing it with a bright blue light. She did the same to his right wrist.
"Rotate them for me." she said gently. He did as she asked.
"Good." She said before wrapping her arms around him, pulling him into a hug. Yugi didn't protest he just cried into her chest, needing comfort from someone who wasn't his mates right now, more than anything.
"Shoo, Atem. He's staying here for the night." Isis said coldly.
"But-" Atem started to protest.
"I don't want to hear your excuses, now go." Isis said harshly.
"Okay." Atem said giving of a heavy sigh. Isis led him over to a bed, and tucked him in. She placed a hand on his head, and a yellow light blinded his vision briefly before he closed his eyes, and he was asleep.
[Time skip]
"Yugi, you're supposed to forgive them on November 2nd, remember?" Ryou whispered to him.
"This has nothing to do with costumes, Ryou." Yugi said looking away.
"Oh, than why are you giving Yami such a cold shoulder?" Malik asked glancing over at the broken vampire.
"That's between him and I." Yugi said getting up and moving to a different table, leaving his untouched lunch where it was.
"Yugi!" Jou called out. Yugi placed his head on his arms and ignored their cries for him to come back.
Gym was a disaster; they were still doing badminton which meant he was still paired up with Yami. He completely ignored the teams they were playing to beg for Yugi's forgiveness. Yugi ignored him until Atem hit him in the head with the birdie and gave him a pointed look. Yugi spared him a glance before looking away again and continued to ignore him.
"Yugi, please, I'm sorry." Yami sobbed falling to his knees. Thankfully the Sensei called for the end of the class at that moment, so Yugi wasn't too embarrassed or angered by it. He left Yami groveling and walked into the locker rooms to change. Atem picked him up and slammed him against the lockers by his throat.
"Accept it." he growled at Yugi as others pulled him off, Yami included.
"You can't…make me." Yugi coughed.
"Yugi! You're hurting Yami! Can't you see that?!" Atem yelled at him as he straightened up. Yugi spared Yami a glance, before turning cold amethyst orbs on Atem.
"I don't care." He said quietly. Atem opened his mouth.
"He hurt me! Why should I care if he feels pain in return?" Yugi asked beating Atem to whatever it was he was going to say.
"Because you're better than this." Atem growled. Those words froze Yugi, as a single tear of anger slipped down his cheek.
"Hey! What's going on in here?" Hiwatari Sensei asked coming into the locker room.
"Nothing." Yugi said shortly pushing past him and fleeing campus. Yugi ran, he ran all the way to his parents' graves, where he fell to his knees in front of their gravestones.
"What should I do? I'm so lost right now. We were on good terms again, and now we're not. He broke them, both of my wrists he broke them. I mean he's done it before, but somehow it's different this time. Like it means more. What should I do? Forgive him? Or let him suffer?" Yugi asked holding one hand out to the right and the other out to the left. A wind came forcing his head to the right.
"But he hurt me." Yugi cried.
A gentle wind caressed his hair, and slid down his back. Yugi sobbed his tears falling onto the leaf strewn ground. The wind caressed his hair again and then slid over his cheek. Yugi turned tear stained eyes onto the gravestones. Of course he knew that they always taught him to turn the other cheek to those who had done him wrong. But he hadn't apologized right away, he hadn't even come after him, Atem had. Didn't his parents realize how much that hurt him? And now…now he was hurting Yami, he could feel his misery, had felt it all day since rising that morning. And Atem was angry at both of them, Yugi for being stubborn, and Yami for hurting him in the first place. Yugi was upset with Yami, and annoyed with Atem. There were so many negative emotions floating around in the three of them, it was no wonder they weren't getting along.
"But how can I go back and face them?" Yugi whispered. A wind lifted his chin up until it was parallel with the ground.
"Be the bigger man, easy for you to say you're not living my life, just watching over it." Yugi half heartedly laughed. A slight wind pushed at his chest.
"Alright, alright, but I refuse to apologize for my behavior." Yugi said getting up; the wind gave him a slight shove. Yugi walked out of the cemetery, and down the street. He took a shortcut in the park to get back to the Palace quicker. Cutting through the garden, he took the back stairwell, and up the stairs to his room. Be the bigger man, turn the other cheek, lessons from his childhood, practically engraved into his system. Yugi lay down on the bed; he closed his eyes and waited for their return.
[Time skip]
Warm arms drew him close to a warm chest. They seemed hesitant, and unsure, Yugi's eyes opened and connected with red violet orbs. Yami gasped and opened his mouth.
"Shhh, I forgive you." Yugi said gently placing a finger on his lips before pulling himself closer to Yami.
"Oh." Yami let out choked sobs as he placed a hand around his back and the other on the back of his head, pulling him closer still if that was even possible. A warm happiness spread through him from Yami's end, completely eclipsing the small burst of shock that he just felt from Atem's.
Yugi let Yami cry into and kiss his hair. It wasn't like he wasn't doing the same; he was kissing Yami's neck, what little of it he could reach. He didn't know why he was doing this, it just felt right, so he continued in his ministrations on the small sample of flesh. Besides, it wasn't like Yami wasn't enjoying it.
The door banged open, and Yami turned allowing Yugi to see who it was. Atem stood there disbelief written all over his face. Yugi shrugged slightly, and moved up kissing more of Yami's neck. Yami grunted before moving his lips to his, and trying to roll them over. Yugi squealed in protest, and grabbed hold of the covers. His plan sort of worked, he still ended up on bottom, but now they were blocked from Atem's prying eyes.
"Ha ha, so you forgave him, huh?" Atem asked plopping down on the other side of the bed and lifting the covers slightly.
"Mmm." Yami moaned pulling them back down.
"Alright, but Yugi is probably confused, Yami. Yugi is probably wondering why he's showering you with affection and you're doing them same to him." Atem said sounding as if he was smirking. Yugi lifted the covers slightly to look at him, yep definitely a smirk. Yugi blinked at him.
"You're comforting him, and he's doing the same to you. You made each other really upset, this is your instincts way of making up for it." Atem explained. Yugi pulled away from Yami, and started nuzzling his neck. Yami whined in protest as Yugi let the blanket drop, but Yugi avoided his lips and continued to nuzzle his neck.
Thump.
Yugi frowned as he pulled away from Yami, it had just gotten considerably darker in their cocoon. Yugi squeaked as he started to move. Clinging to Yami, they were both forced into a sitting position, and the blanket was pulled away from their heads.
"There, that's much better, now I have both of my Ukes right where I want them." Atem said lying down with them placed on top of him. He felt like a cat being held against its will again. Though, Atem's statement did make him smile, in a sinister way.
"You mean…on top?" Yugi asked slyly. Yami snorted.
"N-no, in my arms." Atem stuttered slightly flabbergasted at Yugi's words.
"Ha ha, you stuttered." Yugi laughed.
"If this blanket weren't so thick, I'd tickle you right now." Atem said glaring at him.
"I'll help." Yami said.
"Ah! Yami!" Yugi shrieked as Yami tickled him. Yugi was unable to get away due to the confined space and constricting arms trapping him. None of them noticed the door opening.
"You've got to show us how you do that!" Marik said giving Yugi reprieve as Yami was distracted.
"Do what?" he asked.
"Go from fighting to lovey, to fighting again and back to lovey so quickly." Marik said leaning against the bed post.
"We aren't lovey." Yugi protested looking over Yami's head.
"Anyway, we have a meeting." Seth said from the door.
"I know." Atem said sighing.
"What do we do about him?" Yami asked.
"Take him with us." Atem said.
"Yes! Meetings going to be shortened!" Marik said giving a high five to Seth as he passed him.
"But I have homework, and it's almost impossible to do homework in that chair." Yugi complained.
"You should have thought about that, before you tried to pull that stunt you did." Atem hissed at him.
"What stunt?" Seth asked poking his head inside the door.
"Don't worry about it." Yami said.
"No, he has a point to which stunt are you referring to?" Yugi asked.
"Which one do you think?" Atem asked his eyes drooping in annoyance.
"Hmmm, Yami?" Yugi asked.
"No."
"Sugar rush?"
"Try again."
"I can't think of anything else that would leave me with needing constant supervision." Yugi said giving Atem a pouty face.
"Uh huh, sure you can't." Atem said placing his hand over Yugi's eyes, before he could use those too. Yugi smiled and moved his head up to kiss Atem's palm.
"Alright, I'll go with, it's not like you're leaving me with much choice anyway. Besides, it's not like I could ever have a side effect that would make you regret this close contact, right?" Yugi conceded and asked, his eyes snapping open on the word 'right'. Atem's eyes narrow at him suspiciously.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Yami asked what they were both thinking. Yugi just grinned wider as he began to shimmy his way out of the blanket by taking the bottom route.
"I'm going to change out of my uniform I think." Yugi said making his way to the closet and shutting the door.
"Yugi!" Atem shouted.
"We're never going to get him to tell us what he meant by that." Yami sighed out.
"Maybe Marik knows what he meant." Atem said.
"It's worth a try." Yami said.
[Time skip]
"Would you like a list?" Marik asked.
"Good point." Yami said.
"I thought we had a meeting to attend?" Yugi asked from his perch over Atem's shoulder.
"No, we have a meeting, you need to be there because we can't trust you on your own anymore." Atem corrected.
"Whatever." Yugi said before starting to poke Atem's back.
"What are you doing?" Atem asked in slightly annoyed voice.
"Poking you." Yugi said.
"Yes, I can feel that. Why are you poking me?" Atem asked in a definitely annoyed voice.
"I'm bored." Yugi responded and could practically hear Atem rolling his eyes as they entered the throne room. Yugi was dropped unceremoniously into the throne.
"Interesting, why did you bring the human?" a vampire asked.
"Because we wanted to get out of here sometime today." Yami responded before Atem could.
"Mahad." Atem said waving his hand.
"Right, we only have two orders of business today. The first is deciding a date for the blood drive." Mahad began looking slightly annoyed himself.
That was suggested in September.
We're aware.
It's November.
We know, but a date still can't be decided on.
"Here's a thought, why don't you guys plan for the blood drive this weekend?" Yugi suggested earning a few amused looks from some of the vampires.
"Humans are meant to be seen not heard." One vampire spat out.
"Oh shove it! We decided on this blood drive thing in September. It's now November, pick a date, and go with it." Yugi said waving off the vampire.
"Are you not going to control your pet?" the vampire asked.
"I am not a pet!" Yugi growled at them.
"Enough! The human is right, we do need to decide on a date and we're doing it today. I'm tired of this coming up in meetings, it's time to move on from it." Atem said silencing the argument. Yugi saw most of the vampires grin, and Marik mouth at him 'shortened meeting'. Yugi grinned back.
"All in favor of the human's idea?" Mahad asked. All but two hands were raised.
"Majority overrules." Mahad said writing down the date in his notebook.
"Mahad, you know that that's not how this work." Yami reprimanded.
"Would you like this to be on the agenda again, your highness?" Mahad asked folding his hands and placing his chin upon them.
"Moving on." Yami said.
"Our next agenda is Palace staff. We have too many on hand and need to let at least 15 of them go, since we no longer need the extra help. All of our foreign guests are gone." Mahad said.
"I say we get rid of the humans. They're useless creatures." The same vampire from before commented.
"Well, hold on. Who works harder, the vampires workers or the humans. Why not get rid of the workers that don't seem to want to do anything? The ones that laze about, and order others around?" Yugi suggested slowly.
"That's like 20 of each species." A woman vampire said.
"It was just a suggestion." Yugi said shrugging.
"How many did we hire, Scarlet?" the woman asked another. She flipped some papers before answering.
"We hired 50, Esmeralda." Scarlet said looking at her.
"We can afford to lose 40, your highnesses." Esmeralda said.
"I'll leave you ladies to it then." Atem said.
"Well, that's that, meeting is adjourn-" Mahad started to say but was cut off by the doors bursting open. A vampire ran to the head of the table and whispered something in Atem's ear as he handed him something. Atem took one look at it before glancing at Yugi and dismissing the messenger.
"Yugi, leave." Atem ordered swiftly.
"Whatever happened to constant supervision?" Yugi asked frowning.
"You're right, Yami, go with him." Atem said nodding.
"You know Atem, you told me all last month that I really need to see things from your point of view, what better chance am I going to get than now?" Yugi bargained. Atem turned around to face him.
"Are you throwing my words back in my face?" Atem asked in an incredulous voice. Yugi gasped in a mock offended way.
"I'm hurt that you would think that, Atem. I was merely reminding you of your own words, since you'd seem to forgotten them." Yugi pointed out.
"That's pretty much the same thing." Atem said his eyelids drooping in slight amusement.
"Besides, you know how vampires can be; they never want to hold a meeting without their beloved Queen." Yugi said batting his eyes at Atem.
"You want to stay? Fine, stay." Atem said nodding his head and smiling at Yugi.
"Yes." Yugi said in victory thinking he had won as Atem turned back around and began reading from the paper that the boy had handed him.
"Mass murder of fifty rogue vampires happened last night when six Vampire Hunters entered their territory, in the dead of night. They entered under the pretenses that they were doing a civil service to human kind. Four are now dead, and the other two are in the Hospital in critical condition. None of the Hunters were from Domino, it is believed that these Hunters were from out of town, and the Organization is still trying to figure out who gave them clearance to this suicide mission. All the details are still unclear and are still being gathered as we speak. The only thing that is clear so far, is that the rogues were much too organized to be a regular band, which leaves investigators to believe that they are being led by someone who is stronger than them and is controlling them through sheer force." Atem read off the paper before looking up at the vampires. He spared Yugi a glance and saw that he was as a still as a statue and paler than normal. Atem whispered something in Yami's ear and nodded to Yugi. Yami nodded and tried to pick him up, but Yugi unconsciously shied away from the touch.
"Yugi, come on." Yami said holding out his hand. Yugi looked at it before grasping it and allowing Yami to pull him out of the room.
"So much for a shorter meeting." He heard Seth mutter as he left. Yami stopped right outside the door and bent down slightly so he was eye level with Yugi.
"Yugi, I want you to go back to the room, and stay there." Yami ordered softly.
"Can I get dinner on my way up?" he asked.
"Yes." Yami said kissing his brow before walking back into the throne room. Yugi turned and headed for the kitchen. He got his meal and headed up to his room. There was nothing new on his tray, so that was good. Yugi set his tray down and picked at the food, not really that hungry. He pushed the tray away and picked up his phone, hitting the number five and holding it.
"Hello?" Sakura's voice said.
"Are those two Hunters in the hospital going to be okay?" Yugi asked.
"How did you hear about that?" she asked curious.
"Does it matter?" Yugi asked back.
"No, I suppose it doesn't. They're in comas, nobody is sure if they'll ever awaken." Sakura sighed.
"Does anyone know how or why they did it?" Yugi asked.
"No, all the information we have is that they were stupid idiots who thought too highly of their talents." Sakura growled out.
"So they were American?" Yugi asked.
"Actually, no, they were Canadian." Sakura said.
"Really?" Yugi asked in surprised shock.
"Yeah, we were surprised too." Sakura said.
"Wow." Yugi said.
"So what are you up to?" Sakura asked.
"Just eating dinner." Yugi said pushing a tomato around in his salad.
"Oh, what are you eating?" she asked.
"Salad, beef, chocolate covered pineapple, sushi, and apple pie." Yugi said in a bored tone.
"Are you tired?" Sakura asked.
"A little, but I still have to do my homework. Thanks for the information Sakura, I'll talk to you later." Yugi said.
"You're welcome, I love you." Sakura said.
"I love you too, Onee-chan." Yugi said before hanging up.
Yugi pushed off of the bed and walked over to his desk and started on his homework. Koneko jumped up and nudged his hand, begging to be petted. Yugi did so absentmindedly. He finished his homework and looked at the clock; it read 1:16 am. They still weren't back yet, Yugi wanted to go look for them. At the same time though, he needed to earn their trust back, and the best way to do that was to do as they told him to. So with a heavy sigh Yugi changed into his pajamas, and climbed into the bed, after setting the tray of food on the ground. Koneko tried jumping onto the bed, but lost her grip because the comforter was all messed up. Yugi laughed and picked her up, setting her on Atem's pillow, where she curled up and promptly went to sleep. Yugi smiled as he petted her falling asleep himself.
"Hello, Mutou, care if we join you?" Dartz asked as Pegasus's face joined his.
Yugi screamed in pure terrified fear.
Yugi cried out in pain as something hit him on the back, sending him forwards on his already broken wrist. With his face now in the seats, he only heard as Kaiba growled loudly and felt him move. There was shriek of pain, and a returning hiss to his growl. Yugi took his face out of the seats and tried to sit up only to feel like something kicked him in the chest, and he heard a few ribs crack. Yugi gasped for breath as he felt one of his lungs fill with liquid. They were burning, his lungs, and he could barely breath.
"I'll have my revenge on you yet for killing my mate, Dilan." Dartz growled at him squeezing his throat as he crushed Yugi's windpipe. He couldn't breathe, blood was flooding his lungs, and he was unable to get even a smidgeon of air to them because of Dartz squeezing his wind pipe closed. He was dying, he was going to die, and there was no one around to save him, not this time.
"Yugi, wake up!" Yami was shouting and shaking him awake. Yugi took one look at him and crushed his face into his chest crying in fear.
"Shh, shh, it's alright, it was only a nightmare, just a nightmare." Yami soothed rubbing his back.
"No, it was real, it had happened." Yugi cried.
"Not all of it Yugi, not all of it." Yami whispered.
"What if he gets to me?" Yugi whispered looking up at Yami with a tear stained face, with tears still running down his cheeks.
"He won't, he won't, Yugi." Yami said pulling him close again.
"But what if he does?" Yugi cried into the crook of his neck.
"Yugi, look at me." Yami ordered softly raising his head so he was looking into Yugi's eyes.
"Dartz will never get to you so long as Atem and I are around." Yami said firmly.
"J-January." Yugi stuttered up at him.
"No Yugi, he won't get to you, he won't." Yami said pulling him back against his chest.
"I'm scared, Yami." Yugi cried fisting some of his shirt.
"There's no reason to be, we'll protect you. We'll always protect you, even from yourself." Yami said rubbing his back again and kissing his hair.
"Where's A-Atem?" Yugi stuttered slightly.
"He's working, but I'm here. I'm not going anywhere." Yami said.
"You'll stay?" Yugi asked looking up at him with wide eyes.
"Yes." Yami said nodding once.
"Okay." Yugi said.
"Oof!"
"Then you won't mind being my pillow." Yugi said as he pushed Yami down onto the bed and promptly lay on top of him.
"No, I don't mind being your pillow." Yami said laughing slightly running a hand through Yugi's hair. Yugi closed his eyes at the feeling.
"So, you're still putting this little rascal on my pillow huh?" Atem asked coming into the room. He had been intending to just crash on the bed, but since his pillow was taken, he found his plans postponed.
"She only growls at you once a day now." Yugi said.
"True, but I want my pillow back." Atem pointed as out as he moved to pick the kitten up.
"Why not use mine? I mean I'm using Yami, so my pillow isn't being used." Yugi pointed out. Atem raised an eyebrow in Yami's direction, and Yugi felt him shrug beneath him.
"Makes no difference to me." Atem said shrugging himself as he climbed into the bed and flopped down on Yugi's pillow. He pulled Yugi off of Yami, so only his head remained on him. He placed his own head on Yugi's shoulder.
"As long as you have no qualms about being a sardine." Atem whispered in his ear.
"I'll let it slide, this time." Yugi said.
Yami and Atem laughed, before they drifted off to sleep, Yugi crushed between them. Yami must have been very tired, and had only stayed awake for Yugi. Atem was snoring softly in his ear, something he only ever did when he was exhausted. Yugi looked at the time to see that it read 6:29 am. Oh, his poor vampires they had just gotten to sleep and the alarm was going to go off in a minute.
Yugi wiggled out of his vampires grips, they barely even stirred. He crept over to the desk and switched off the alarm for the day. Ripping a piece of paper out of his notebook he wrote a note on it.
Hey, you guys fell asleep a minute before the alarm was to go off, so I just turned it off. You appeared to need your rest so I went to school and allowed you to sleep. I'll be back right after school, and if anything should happen there or on the way back I'll give a little shout through the mind link. Hope you had pleasant dreams, more pleasant than mine anyway.
Yugi
Yugi bit his lip as he taped it to the door. Yugi snuck quietly around the room as he got ready for school. Guess he wasn't eating his drug today either, cool! His hand was on the door as he prepared to open it when he heard him.
"Where are you going?"
"Um, school?" he asked more than said back to Atem. Atem gave a heavy sigh.
"Okay, time to get up, Yami." Atem said and Yugi turned around in time to see him push the other onto the floor to wake him up.
"Waz go on?" he asked.
"Yugi wants to go to school." Atem said yawning.
"Really?" he asked popping his head over the edge to look at him.
"Um, you guys can just go back to sleep." Yugi said looking at the ground and shuffling his feet slightly before looking back up. Atem looked over at Yami, and watched as he shook his head slightly.
"Tempting, but no." Atem said pushing himself off the bed. Yami pushed himself off the floor.
"But you're tired." Yugi said.
"Very." Atem responded.
Yugi sighed before dropping his bag and taking off his jackets. He pushed Atem back onto the bed and climbed over him. He grabbed the front of Yami's shirt and pulled him down onto the bed. He lay down and crossed his arms across his chest in annoyance.
"Sleep." He said.
"Why? So you can attempt to sneak off again?" Atem asked propping himself up on his elbow.
"No, now go to sleep." Yugi said glaring at the canopy.
"We'll go to school; it's no big deal, really." Yami said sitting up and yawning.
"I said sleep." Yugi growled pushing him back down and kicking off his shoes.
"Yami, don't argue with the human, just go to sleep." Atem said lying back down and wrapping his arms around Yugi. Yugi was yanked into his chest.
"Go to sleep, Atem." Yugi said his eyes narrowing at the canopy.
"No, you'll sneak off to school without protection." Atem responded. Yugi turned his glare on the man.
"I'm staying home so you'll both sleep. Now, get. Some. Sleep." Yugi all but growled at him.
"Have I ever told you that you really don't have a face for glaring? Kind of like how you think I can't pout." Atem said attempting to change the subject.
"Either go to sleep, or I will convince you to." Yugi said turning in his arms.
"And how will you accomplish that?" Yami asked pressing up against his back. Yugi tilted his head back, and grabbed Yami's collar pulling his ear closer to his mouth.
"I will worm my way out of Atem's arms and have my wicked way with you until you're so exhausted, you'll be begging for the sweet release of sleep." Yugi whispered huskily in his ear. Yami's eyes widened.
"Yugi, we don't have the energy for that." Yami said.
"But I do." Yugi said his eyes drooping.
"We should get some sleep." Yami suggested.
"Agreed, before he has his wicked way with us, as hot as that would be." Atem said nodding as Yami slipped his arms around Yugi too. Now he really was a sardine.
Yugi felt them both fall into an easy sleep, probably confident that he couldn't escape their grasp this time. Now what was he supposed to do for the next eight hours or so? Well, he supposed he could catch some more sleep, but he wasn't exactly tired anymore. Oh hell, this day was going to be super boring. Seriously, what was he supposed to do for eight hours?
"Go to sleep, Yugi." Atem said barely opening one eye.
"Okay." Yugi agreed almost instantly drifting off.
"Good human." Atem said kissing his brow before he too fell back asleep.
"So obviously he takes this route home, but the question is, where do we grab him?" Yami asked as he and Atem poured over a map.
"Here, it's dark enough that we won't be seen from any angle unless we come out into the light." Atem said pointing to a seemingly random spot on the map.
"Okay, but when?" Yami asked looking up at him.
"Well, the Little One tends to get injured a lot, so he'll be slow and weak, not very likely to fight back." Atem mulled the idea around out loud.
"So you want to grab him on a day that he's limping home? Isn't that a bit cowardly?" Yami asked raising an eyebrow.
"Perhaps, but it will make our task easier if he can't exactly put up a fight. Remember Raphael? Our last food source?" Atem pointed out.
"Point taken." Yami said nodding.
"Alright he seems to get the worst of it on Wednesdays, we'll take him then." Atem said rolling up the map and putting it back on the shelf.
"So we're going to do it? This week?" Yami asked looking excited.
"Yes, and we will not get distracted." Atem said.
The scene shifted around them. Atem and Yami were carrying a small bundle wrapped up in a blanket. They went to Isis's chambers first, and set him down, calling her softly into the room. Isis came in and healed him, his body glowing the same colors as when he had gotten those bruises from the human bullies several months ago. Isis patted his head softly and moved away. Yugi got a look at his face. It was blank of any emotions, his eyes lifeless. Yami reached down and took his hand leading him out of the healing chambers. He led him to the white room and sat him on the bed. Atem and Yami had a short conversation, before Yami leant down and snapped his fingers in front of his face. Yugi woke up screaming.
Bet you thought I was going to show him what he forgot, wrong! The side effect is still in effect, and will do anything to keep those traumatizing memories from him. And that's it for Yami's memory dreams of past present times. Anyhoo, thanks to everyone who are/have following/favorited this story. Also, thanks to everyone who reviewed. Please review.
