"It's not funny, Ren!" Haruka groaned as she threw a pillow at her husband/ fiance. Ren chuckled through his wife's pillow pummeling of his face, covering his mouth in an attempt to keep his voice down. "Stop laughing!"
"I-I can't help it." Ren chuckled. "She just kissed him- out of nowhere! I don't even think he's kissed anyone before!"
"Ren, stop laughing, you're upsetting Mimiko!" Haruka cried, turning to her friend who sat on the floor nearby, hands covering her red face. Haruka had convinced Mimiko to tell Ren what had happened and they had found him in the all popular living room. Ren had taken a seat on the couch while Mimiko had sat on the floor, despite being offered a seat.
"Oh no, that was his first..." Mimiko whined from the floor, a cloud of black smoke forming around her in a gloomy depression.
"Ren, you're making it worse!" Haruka cried, hitting him again to the pillow while kneeling on the couch. Ren easily swiped the pillow from her hand and threw it across the room before standing up.
"Look, it's not the worse thing in the world. So you kissed him, so what? It's not like you like him or anything." Haruka almost yelled at him right there. Instead she settled for giving him a light slap in the arms.
"Ren!" Haruka hissed, grabbing her head in frustration.
"Okay, as cute as it is when you're angry, I think you should settle down now." Ren teased. Haruka let out an angry sigh and threw herself on the couch. "Alright, alright, I'll be serious."
"Yes, thank you." Haruka sighed, looking exhausted.
"It really isn't that bad anyways."
"How?!" Mimiko cried, jumping up and glaring at Ren. "How is this not that bad?!"
"Well, think of it. You kissed him a while ago and he's probably been thinking about it the entire time you've been gone. And if that's the case, he's probably thinking about what it would even be like to, oh I don't know, date you, kiss you, other illicit activities." Ren explained, winking at the end to make Mimiko blush once more.
"As unnecessary as that last point was," Haruka said with a sigh, shaking her head when Ren winking at her. "Everything else was... surprisingly clever." Haruka admitted.
"Well I was a playboy." Ren grinned, turning to Haruka. "Was."
Haruka smiled, shaking her head. "So maybe this is a good opportunity for you to tell him how you feel!"
"I-I don't know..."
"Don't worry so much. Besides, don't you want to have a great relationship like ours?" Ren asked, putting his arm around Haruka's waist and pulling her snugly into his side.
"Ren, our relationship was full of problems and anger and a whole lot of hate." Haruka pointed out. "I don't think anyone wants that kind of relationship."
"I don't even know what to do!" Mimiko cried, beginning to paise. "I could just tell him straight up, or I could just say it was nothing and show off for a while. But what if he already likes me back and by doing that makes him think that I'm not interested?! Or maybe he would think that I think he's not interested and hurt his feelings! Maybe I should just tell him straight out. But I would need to have something for him- like flowers or chocolate- or at least some nice clothes. Or maybe-"
"She's rambling again." Ren sighed, a small smile on his face.
"She does that." Haruka giggled. "Mimiko, stop worrying so much. Just be yourself and tell him."
"Haruka, you've gotta help me practice!" Mimiko begged, pouncing on her and pulling Haruka into a death squeeze. "I can't do this without practice!"
"I'm not sure how much practice you can get in. Hijirikawa will probably be here soon." Ren said while he looked out the nearby window to see if he was there yet.
"W-what?! He's coming here!?" Mimiko cried.
"Well when you refused to talk to him on the phone, he told me he was heading over. And it's only a twenty five minute drive." Ren shrugged.
"Ren!" Haruka cried.
"Well what was I supposed to do? Say 'no, go away'? He told me where my little runaway was, so it's only fair that I tell him where his runaway is." Ren pointed out with a frown.
"B-but... Okay, yeah, you're right." Haruka admitted, sighing. "But now what?"
"I say she should just go and face the music."
"But I can't!" Mimiko cried.
"What about before- when I first met you you keep saying that you were going to be the one to get together with Masato. What happened to that confidence?" Haruka pointed out, a small smile on her face.
"How is she on a first name basis with him before me?" Ren mumbled.
"I-I don't know! I just-" A knock on the door alerted the group to the maid who had stepped into the room, bowing politely.
"Jinguji-sama, sir, Hijirikawa-sama has come by to see you and is waiting in your office." She said.
"Tell him I'll be there in a minute." Ren instructed, the maid bowing and leaving the room, the door closing behind her.
"I-I'm not ready yet!" Mimiko cried. "I can't go see him yet! I-I need time to-"
"Mimiko," Ren placed his hands on her shoulders. "You're only going to make it worse by waiting. Hijirikawa is a honest man and he appreciates honesty from others. Just say how you feel. Don't ramble on, don't dance around the bushes, just say it." Ren moved behind her hand began to move her out of the room.
Haruka followed quickly, moving to walk beside her husband. "Where did that come from?"
"Shinomiya-san is starting to rub off on me. I think that nutty blonde is turning me into a big softy." Ren sighed, Haruka smiling.
"Well I think you were wonderful." Haruka admitted, placing a kiss on his cheek. The three of them made their way down the hallway at a rather slow pace. Mimiko froze up when she saw the familiar door leading to Ren's office.
"I-I-"
"Just go." Ren said as she lead her down the last hallway to the door. Ren opened the door and stepped in, holding it open for the two girls. Mimiko stepped inside and immediately spotted a familiar tuff of blue hair. Masato had been standing by Ren's desk, his arms crossed and foot tapping impatiently. When the door opened, he stood up straight, eyes immediately going to Mimiko, who looked down, drawing circles in the carpet with her foot.
"Mimiko," Masato greeted quietly. Mimiko nodded in acknowledgment, her ears quickly becoming red. Masato cleared his throat and walked over to her, stopping a few feet away, clearing his throat again. "I was.. Worried about you, when you disappeared. I, um, thought you would head here and, well, you're here."
"Y-yeah." Mimiko answered, keeping her eyes down.
"Yes..." The two of them stood quietly for a minute, neither one knowing what to do at the moment, leaving the room in an awkward silence.
"M-Mister Masato, I-I-"
"L-let's just forget about it." Mimiko froze, looking up at the blue haired heir in front of her in shock. "Let's just pretend that never happened."
O...M...G! What is going on?! I can't believe what Masato just said! And I'm writing the story!
Hey guys, I just wanted to say sorry about missing the last update. I went on vacation to the beach for a week and kinda forgot that I had a schedule to keep up. And I knew what I wanted to do in this update and knew that I definitely wanted the entire ten days between the updates to raise the tension.
But other than that, what do you guys think? I know that I added in a lot of humor this time around, but... I REALLY wanted to write it! I also wanted to add in a little of that Ren flair- add in a little teasing. I know I should have left some of that out, but Ren's been in a good mood so far today, since chapter 59. So why not?
Next chapter will be awesome!
