Adrien looked around nervously, double-triple checking everything around him. The picnic blanket was perfectly even, the food was great, and the small bouquet of flowers was adorable. He smiled to himself, leaning back against the large oak tree that was perfect for leaning.

"Adrien!" Marinette called, rushing up to him from across the park.

He could feel his face light up at the sight of her. She was wearing a pastel summer dress and white sandals, and looked as perfect as ever. She held a tote bag styled purse with her, setting it down next to her as she sat next to Adrien on the blanket.

"Sorry about being a little later than I expected, I couldn't find my sandals!" She explained, sighing.

"That's alright, don't worry!" He assured, scooting even closer to her.

"So what did you bring?" Marinette asked, looking through the basket of food, "Oh, these look delicious!"

She pulled out a plastic baggie of grapes, already grabbing a handful before he could even reply.

"Yeah, I know how much you love grapes," Adrien nodded, laughing to himself.

"Oh! I completely forgot!" Marinette gasped, reaching into her tote bag, "I made these for you!"

She pulled out a small paper box, still warm from the fresh cookies inside.

"For real?!" Adrien asked, opening the box and staring at the chocolate chip cookies.

"Yeah, I hope you like them!" She nodded, smiling, taking one out and eating it.

"I love 'em!" He grinned, shoving two in his mouth, trying to talk with his mouth full.

"Adrien! You're supposed to eat your meal first, before the dessert!" Marinette jokingly scolded, pushing his arm.

"Not when I'm on a date with you! You're the baker's daughter, there has to be some law that allows us to just eat dessert!" Adrien huffed after finally swallowing the mouthful of cookies.

"Just because you're dating me doesn't mean you can only eat cookies!" Marinette laughed, but picked up another cookie for herself, anyway.

"Nope!" Adrien shook his head quickly, "If I'm dating someone as sweet as you, I need to eat more sweets to make it even!"

"That makes no sense!" Marinette laughed even louder, shaking her head in her laughter.

Adrien couldn't help himself but laugh even more, overjoyed at her giggles. Her laugh was so beautiful, it was just one of those things that you couldn't help join in. Everything about her was like that, after all.

"Thank you for setting up this picnic, Adrien," Marinette grinned after her laughter calmed down, "It's really sweet of you."

"Of course!" Adrien nodded, holding her waist, "I love you."

"I love you, too." Marinette sighed, leaning her head against his shoulder, stealing a cookie from his hands.
