Yeah, it's late I know. On the plus side though, it's only four days. Also, a portion of this is from Atem and Yami's view. Only because even the Author was becoming confused by Yugi's complicated mind process. It'll makes sense later. Right, I do not own Yugioh, or Buttons by PCD. Enjoy! [YUGI, YAMI, and ATEM]
Chapter 43
"Shht, shht, he's coming, he's coming!" Ryou said. Yugi walked into the room and caught a glimpse of a baby shirt on a screen before the laptop was shut quickly.
"What was that?"
"Nothing." Malik said as they all grinned at him.
"I don't want a baby shower." Yugi stressed.
"Yeah, we know." Jou said waving him off.
"Guys, I'm serious. I've been forced to go to like three already."
"Uh huh." Ryou nodded.
"Ugh, I'm not going to be able to get you guys to drop this am I?" Yugi asked slumping into a chair.
"Probably not." Malik said shaking his head.
"Just don't make it unbearable."
"Promise. It's going to be the best one ever, because only your friends will be there." Jou assured.
"You didn't invite Grandpa?"
"Uh…" they all looked amongst themselves with sheepish looks.
"Harsh, you forgot about the old man. Make sure he gets one, yeah?"
"Yes, ma'am!" Malik saluted. Yugi tackled him to the ground and gave him a noogie.
"Stop calling me that! I'm not a woman!" he laughed. He was plucked off of Malik by the back of his shirt.
"We'd appreciate no rough play. We don't want to hurt the baby." Atem said patting his obvious bump.
"Babies." Yugi growled.
"Right, babies." Atem amended.
"Where's Yami?" Yugi asked as he was set back on his feet.
"Working." Atem answered casually.
Yugi's eyes immediately filled up with tears. He slumped to the ground and started to cry. It wasn't quiet either. It sounded like someone was torturing an already wounded animal. Everyone in the library turned trying to find the source of the noise.
"Shh, shh, shh, he has to work, Yugi. We've talked about this. We're going to take turns working so one of us is with you at all times at school."
"I want both of you!" he howled.
What's wrong?
He's not being very understanding.
Well, of course not, he's pregnant. Nothing about him is understanding anymore.
I want both of my mates!
Well, we can't always have the things we want.
Yugi's cries turned louder in volume and more tortured in sound like. Atem was gently beating his head against the corner of the table. The librarian was still trying to find a way to tell them to leave. Seeing as she hadn't said anything yet, she was apparently not finding any way to.
I'm supposed to be the insensitive one! I'm older!
Well, we're both men. I can't always be the sensitive one.
Yugi got up and ran out of the library. Atem sighed before lifting himself up and following. The librarian looked so relived, and everyone turned back to what they were doing before. Now that the show had literally left the room.
"Oh good, they left on their own." The librarian said sighing herself. Yugi's friends just laughed.
"Yugi! Come one, you were understanding about it two days ago!" Atem pleaded as he followed Yugi through the hallways.
"That was Saturday! Today's Monday!"
Atem just rolled his eyes as Yugi stumbled up ahead of him. He used that and put a burst in his speed to grab Yugi, and swing him around, crushing him to his chest. He rubbed his back, as Yugi clutched his shirt still crying.
"I told you. The Organization, has not only cut all ties from us, they're suing us too. They lost so much support from that little stunt you pulled with the papers…"
"They deserved it."
"I agree, they did, but now we have to rely on our own kind to keep rogues in check again. And as you've seen from the past, they're not very good at it. We have to retrain our armies, re-discipline them. It's a lot of work, Yugi."
"You have armies?" Yugi asked looking up at him.
"Yes." Atem replied kissing his forehead, and then leaning his cheek against it.
"I didn't know that."
"Well, how else do you think we stayed in power for so long, Yami and I?"
"Because you haven't passed on the power of the King yet. The power of the vampire King must be passed onto someone who is young, and married to another vampire. Whether the power is taken on willingly or not, it doesn't matter, the power can only be passed in this one form from the previous King to the new one. After the power is passed, the previous King will die. And I have no idea where all of that came from."
"You really need to stop tapping into the dormant part of our brains." Atem muttered.
"Dormant?"
"Indeed. It's where Yami and I keep useless and old information like that."
"I understand how that would be old, but how is it useless? You don't ever see a time when you feel as if you've lived long enough? When you're tired of waking up to the same sun day after day? Going to bed to the same moon night after night?"
"Yugi, as long as I have you and Yami at my side, I won't ever grow tired." Atem said gently looking down at him.
"Don't get all mushy on me, Atem." Yugi said blushing and looking away.
"Ha ha, haven't seen this color in a while."
"Shut up." Yugi muttered the blush darkening.
Atem, ask him.
Ask me what?
"Oh, Yami was curious as to when we were going to be punished for denying you what you wanted." He asked smirking.
Soon.
[Time skip]
Yugi stared at the items before him on a tray. It had been a little difficult getting the supplies for this, but somehow he had managed it. Yugi gulped, his insides tossing and turning like a person unable to get some sleep. He swallowed, he didn't know how long that meeting was going to be, so it was now or never.
He grabbed the bologna, and lima beans, chewing quickly and swallowing. He downed the jello in front of him, and threw the three granules of sugar, about the size of mini chocolate chips, into his mouth as well. Now all he had to do was wait for each one to activate, in their own time of course. He grabbed the book off the bed to make sure he had taken all the right drug induced stuff. Lima beans-uncontrollable emotions, bologna-hair deflation, jello, blackberries, dragonfruit, and milk-an extremely annoying curiosity, raw sugar-makes the takers mentality into that of their opposite sex (keep away from humans, they like abusing this side effect for some reason).
Yugi nodded and shut the book. He got up and went to put it back into his hiding spot. The same place had put his college documents. He sat back on the bed as he felt his hair slowly fall around his shoulders. He sighed, flopping back onto the bed wondering how long it would take to see the effects of the other ones. He hadn't exactly timed it, ya know?
[Time skip]
"Okay, so that's taken care of. What was the last thing on the agenda, Mahad?" Atem asked turning to him.
"Well, we have some more uprising in-"
Bang!
"Geez, what does somebody have to do to get attention around here?" Yugi asked huffing. Everyone turned to look at him like he'd grown a second head or something.
"Yugi, we're in the middle of a-" Yami started.
"A meeting, yeah I know, but aren't you like always. I mean, here I am like wanting to spend time with my mates, and all you like wanna do is hold meetings. How is this fair?" moving into the room and jumping up onto the table.
"Get down from there!" Atem ordered.
"Why don't you come and make me?"
"Have you been eating bologna?" Yami asked.
"Uh, like that matters." He said flipping some of his hair back.
"Why do you keep saying like?" Mahad asked
"Cause like is like a good word. I like the word like. It's so like-ish, and everyone should like like the word like."
"Isis! What's wrong with him?" Atem asked.
"I have no idea." She said her eyes wide shaking her head.
"If you checked that book I gave you you would."
"Book?" she asked before his eyes widened with realization.
"What book?" Yami asked.
"A book with every discovered side effect in it. So far at least. He has one too."
"No way are they taking my toy away."
"You didn't." Atem said looking at him.
"I said you were going to be punished didn't I?"
"Oh." Yami slumped down into the throne while Atem looked as if he wanted to beat his head against the table.
"And to mark this momentous occasion, I've decided to sing you a song." Yugi said pulling out his iPod.
"Now?" Atem asked.
"Is that a problem?"
"Yes, yes it is."
"It's not mine." Yugi smirked and then opened his mouth starting to sing Buttons by PCD and dancing to it in a very erotic way too.
I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby
But you keep fronting
Saying what you going do to me
But I ain't seen nothing
I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby
But you keep fronting
Saying what you going do to me
But I ain't seen nothing
Typical
Hardly the type I fall for
I like when the physical
Don't leave me asking for more
I'm a sexy mama
Who knows just how to get what I wanna
What I want to do is spring this on you
Back up all of the things that I told you
You've been saying all the right things all night long
But I can't seem to get you over here to help take this off
Baby, can't you see?
How these clothes are fitting on me
And the heat coming from this beat
I'm about to blow
I don't think you know
"You know, this is kinda like sex on a stick." Seth said as they all watched him.
"Yeah, all he needs is a pole." Marik added throwing a glance over at Atem and Yami.
"We should find him one." Seth suggested.
"Shut up!" Atem roared. The two howled with laughter as they high fived each other.
I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby
But you keep fronting
Saying what you going do to me
But I ain't seen nothing
I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby
But you keep fronting
Saying what you going do to me
But I ain't seen nothing
You say you're a big boy
But I can't agree
'Cause the love you said you had
Ain't been put on me
I wonder
If I'm just too much for you
Wonder
If my kiss don't make you just
Wonder
What I got next for you
What you want to do?
Take a chance to recognize that this could be yours
I can see, just like most guys that your game don't please
Baby, can't you see?
How these clothes are fitting on me
And the heat coming from this beat
I'm about to blow
I don't think you know
"Are you going to get him down from there before he really starts stripping?" Mahad asked like the show bored him already.
"If you know of a way to sneak up on him, by all means, execute it." Atem said his lips a thin line. Mahad said nothing and did nothing. Atem nodded, giving him a look that said 'yeah, that's what I thought.'
I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby
But you keep fronting
Saying what you going do to me
But I ain't seen nothing
I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby
But you keep fronting
Saying what you going do to me
But I ain't seen nothing
Come on baby, loosen up my buttons babe
Loosen up my buttons babe
Baby, won't you loosen up my buttons babe?
Loosen up my buttons babe
Come on baby, loosen up my buttons babe
Loosen up my buttons babe
Baby, won't you loosen up my buttons babe?
Loosen up my buttons babe
I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby
But you keep fronting
Saying what you going do to me
But I ain't seen nothing
I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby
But you keep fronting
Saying what you going to do to me
But I ain't seen nothing
I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby

"So, tell me, did you like my dance? Or would you have you preferred it in your laps?" Yugi asked looking at them with lust filled eyes.
"Meetings adjourned!" Yami said shooting up out of his seat.
"Finally. Ooo, what's that!?" he said pointing at something shiny across the room and darting after it.
"You can't adjourn the meeting! It's not finished yet!" one of the vampires protested.
"Atem it won't come out." Yugi whined.
"Then maybe it's not supposed to!" he shot back.
"Why are you so grumpy? Ooo, there's another shiny thing!" Yugi asked appearing front of him before he shot off to the other side of the room.
"Our mate is…honestly I have no idea, but we need to find out, so we'll recommence this tomorrow. Or whenever all this…goes away." Yami argued back.
"Shortened meeting." Marik said getting up.
"You gotta love Mutou." Seth said.
"Mm-hmm." Mahad nodded. All three left, going in different directions once exiting the door.
"Hey! Where ya goin? Where ya goin? Where ya goin?" Yugi asked trying to follow them. Atem snagged him around the waist as he passed though, pulling him firmly to his chest.
"Hey! I know this one!" one of the vampires exclaimed.
"Probably as far away from you as they can get." Another answered walking out.
"Why?" Yugi asked looking like he was about cry.
"Aw, that's just cruel, Yugi." Yami moaned.
"Yeah, the one where he's running all over is the extremely annoying curiosity side effect."
"Okay, so we have hair deflation, overly emotional, and extremely annoying curiosity, but what was that first one he came in with?"
"I'll go consult my book. I'll come find you when I have the answer." Isis said getting up and leaving.
"Ha, like she'll actually find the answer." Yugi scoffed appearing on the table again and flicking his hair back again. Atem looked down at his arms grasping thin air.
"When did he get out of your arms?" Yami asked raising an eyebrow. Atem raised his shoulders just as lost to that question as he was.
"So, what is this? Since you seem to know." Atem asked in a husky voice. Yugi dropped to all fours, leaning forward.
"Sugar, you want some?" he asked licking his lips.
"No." Atem said turning his head away from staring at Yugi's tempting lips.
"You sure?" he asked flipping over to his back, turning everything upside down as he continued to look at him.
"Positive."
"I should have done eggplant and popcorn instead of bologna and jello."
"Jello?"
"Yes, jello, Atem." Yugi said with his eyes glittering in mirth.
"We've never given you jello before."
"I know, and it was delicious." Yugi said hopping off the table and hooking his arms around Yami's neck. He placed his hands on his waist, holding him at half an arm's length.
"Easy, Yugi." He warned.
"What's the matter? Don't you want me?" he asked giving him a soft puppy pout.
"Of course I do. Just not like this." Yami said leaning his forehead against his. Yugi's head snapped to the side.
"Do you hear that? We must investigate what it is!" Yugi said grabbing his wrist and dragging, literally dragging, him out of the room.
"Atem!"
"Good luck." A few vampires said. Atem nodded before taking off after the pair. He found them easily enough, in his study.
"Ooo! It's shiny!"
"No! Don't touch that! That's really dark magic, Yugi!" Yami shouted upwards. He looked up to see Yugi sitting on his highest shelf. He was holding a dark gold box in his hands.
"Did you figure out what that noise was?" Atem asked scaling the shelves like a ladder.
"Yes, it was a crystal glass shattering against the floor. Then he picked up a scent that led us here."
"What was it?"
"A musty old book."
"Huh. How did he end up…here?" Atem asked reaching the top to find no Yugi.
"Looks like a twisted puzzle to me." Yugi said from the ground.
"How did he…?" Atem trailed off looking at Yami. He shrugged, not having a clue.
"I jumped. Didn't you notice?"
"No!"
"Well, somebody's blind!" he said trying to flip his hair back again only to find that it was standing up straight again.
"Well, the little Princess is gone." Yami muttered as Atem landed next to him.
"My hair! My hair is ruined!" Yugi screeched dropping the box and trying to get his hair to lie flat again. Yami darted forward and grabbed the box, placing a few pieces that had fallen out back inside it. He handed the box to Atem who took it vanishing, only to reappear 45 seconds later.
"Re-hide it?"
"Yep. Yugi, your hair is fine." Atem said moving forward to run his hand through it. Yugi smacked his hand away.
"Don't touch it! You'll only make it worse! I can't go out like this! What if someone sees me? With my hair standing straight up like a cockatoo! Looking all hideous…like yours!" Yugi whined before turning on them.
"Hey, that is not nice!" Yami reprimanded. Yugi wasn't listening, he was too worried about his hair.
"My hair!" he cried throwing himself down on the ground and pounding his fists into it like a two year old.
"Yugi! Stop that! You're 17 for Ra's sake!" Atem yelled in frustration.
"Cradle robber." He muttered sitting up.
"What?" they asked together.
"You're a cradle robber." He said glaring at Atem.
"How?"
"You raised Yami so close to you, he had no choice but to fall in love with you. And then…and then, you guys found me and showed him how to be one too. Taking my virginity at a low age of 16, it's no wonder I'm pregnant. After all, you like them young, don't you, Atem?"
"Okay, first of all, our relationship back in that age, was perfectly normal. Most women were married off by the time that they were 15. As soon as they hit their womanhood, they were carted off to the wealthiest benefactor. It was rare that anyone married for love, very rare. The only ones who did were extremely privileged, and even then it was still a very rare occurrence."
"So you admit it."
"Admit what?"
"To cradle robbing me."
"Fine, yes, I cradle robbed you! What are you going to do about it?"
"Uh…"
"Ugh!" Atem wiped his hand down his face in frustration.
"You wouldn't, ya know, cradle rob our…children…would you?"
"That's disgusting!" Atem roared at him.
"It's just a question." Yugi threw his hands up as if to surrender. His head whipped to the side and he took off.
"Not again." Yami muttered. He started to walk towards the door before realizing that Atem wasn't following, he sighed walking back and hooking his collar with his hand.
"Come on cradle robber, he's on the move again."
"I can't believe he actually thought I would…our children! Blegh!"
"Just make sure when mine arrives that you keep your hands to yourself." Yami teased releasing him as they followed Yugi's heavy scent.
"Hey!"
Yami laughed as he darted ahead, still following the scent. Atem followed yelling halfhearted threats at him. Yami just laughed harder, which was abruptly cut off when they both found Yugi. He was in Marik's room staring at him as he drank from Malik. Malik was watching Yugi watch Marik, and he shifted slightly in discomfort. Marik pulled out and cleaned him, before opening his eyes and making direct eye contact with Yugi.
"Oh boy." Atem sighed.
"Mutou! What are you…?" Marik trailed off pulling Malik closer to him.
"So that's what it looks like to have your blood drunk by a vampire, very interesting."
"Figure out what that first one was yet?" Marik asked glaring at Atem and Yami.
"No." Yami groaned.
"Well, do you mind? I was feeding here!"
"Right, come on, Yugi."
"No, I wanna play with Malik!"
"Malik is falling asleep, so come on. You can play later."
"Uh, this like totally unfair!" Yugi complained before stomping out.
"Yeah, get used to it." Yami commented following him. Atem stayed behind briefly to apologize to Marik for the intrusion.
Yugi sighed as they walked through the halls. He turned to look back at Yami, grinning sheepishly at him. Yami raised an eyebrow in question back.
"I didn't really think this through. I guess I thought if I combined a bunch of side effects together, I could make you guys go nuts. Then again, when has any of my plans ever worked out according to what I originally planned, huh?"
"Oh Yugi, you drive us nuts with your presence alone. You don't need any side effects to do that." Yami laughed.
"I guess." He shrugged.
"So what was that first one?"
"Yeah, like I'm really going to tell you." Yugi laughed before vanishing.
"Hey!"
"Come on, he shouldn't be too hard to find." Atem said before they both started to follow his scent. Find him they did, in his game room. He was moving about the kitchen, and making…something.
"Yugi, why are you trying to cook? You know you can't." Yami sighed moving into the room.
"I'm not cooking. I'm throwing everything into a pot and hoping it won't burn."
"Some would call that cooking."
"Well I'm not one of them."
"Obviously. I mean, is that even edible?" he asked looking down into the pot.
"Only one way to find out."
"You're not eating that."
"Yes I am!"
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes-uh." He stomped his foot.
"For all we know, you could be concocting a new breed of poison."
"Good thing you're not eating, huh?"
"And neither are you." Yami said making a grab for the pot. Unfortunately Yugi was quicker and grabbed it off the stove, making Yami grab the hot burner instead. He howled in pain, shaking his hand, and blowing on it as if it were on fire. Yugi watched, unmoved, as he put the pot back on the burner. Atem rolled his eyes at them, before making his way into the room.
"Aww, did the vampire get hurt? Poor, baby." Yugi fake sympathized.
"Can I strangle him?" Yami asked.
"No." Atem answered taking his hand and looking it over. He tsked, before shaking his head and giving Yugi a pointed look. He looked at him and looked away. Atem continued to stare in his direction. Yugi glanced over at him a couple of more times, before giving in.
"What do you like want?"
"Apologize…to Yami."
"But he called my soup poison."
"Yami."
"He burned my hand!"
"Ugh, do I always have to be the adult?"
"Yes." They answered at the same time.
"Why don't you say it at the same time?"
"Sorry." They both grumbled neither of them looking at the other.
"Very good. I'm going to sit on the coach. Yami, let me know if that kills him. We'll just transform him, to stop him from dying on us."
"Okay." Yami shrugged.
"If you transform me I'll…I'll…cut off my own head." Yugi threatened waving the spoon at them.
"Really?" Atem asked raising an eyebrow.
"That's right." Yugi nodded.
"Yugi, you freak out at the sight of blood, so how are you going to manage to decapitate yourself exactly?"
"Uh…um…I'll rip out my heart?"
"Again, we have the problem with blood."
"I'll get Sakura to do it." He turned around and started to stir the contents in the pot.
"That'll work." Yami agreed looking over at Atem. He raised both eyebrows at him, and Yami started to shake his head looking back at Yugi.
"That won't work."
"Yeah, I know."
"So what did you put in here?" Yami asked inching forward again.
"Um, spinach, cucumbers, radishes, turnips, basil, parsley, two cans of veggie broth, carrots, celery, chives, salt, pepper, and a bay leaf."
"Cucumbers?"
"Yeah!"
"Okay." Yami frowned turning to walk away.
"Here, stir it! Atem I need to settle something!" Yugi ordered throwing him the spoon, which he fumbled with slightly, and darted past him.
"We do?" Atem asked.
"Yes, we are going to settle this war, here and now."
"You guys are at war?" Yami asked.
"Apparently."
"I am the only King of Games, and I will never settle for a tie. With anyone! Especially some old man."
"A tie?"
"Yes! We are going to settle this bowling thing, right here, right now, with a racing game!"
"Um, okay, how far are we running?" Atem asked getting up. Yugi shoved him back down, putting a controller in his lap.
"Nowhere."
"Yugi, I don't know how to play these games."
"You didn't know how to bowl either."
"That was luck."
"Tch, no one gets that lucky." Yugi scoffed putting a disk into one of the game consoles.
"Look-" Atem started to stand up.
"Sit…down." Yugi ordered giving him the new look that he had recently discovered. Atem did as he was told, slowly. Yami snickered at them, earning a glare from Atem.
You think this is funny?
Hilarious.
Yugi, should there be smoke coming from the kitchen?
"My soup!" he was instantly by Yami's side only to see that this supposed smoke, was just steam. Yami was laughing rambunctiously at this point, as Yugi went pouting back to Atem.
His voice got so high.
"It's not funny! Stir the soup!" he whined.
"I'm stirring, I'm stirring."
"Now, the basics of this game. Use the X button for speed, the toggle to move the car left right backwards forwards, the O button for releasing different…hindrances to the other players, and yeah, that's the basics."
"What about these two?" he asked pointing to the triangle and square.
"Can't remember, do you know how ancient this game is?"
"No, what's it called?"
"Crash Team Racing."
"Never heard of it."
"I'm not surprised. There's a lot of things you haven't heard about. Like a Blu-ray player for instance." He said pointing to the still ruined machine sitting in its lonely corner.
"Whatever, just start the demon contraption already."
"It's not evil, Atem."
"Yes it is. It takes your time away from us. That makes it evil."
"Ugh, you are so B.C."
"Huh?"
"Which player do you want?"
"They all look so…bizarre."
"Heh, I'll be the kitty!"
"I'll be that bear thing, I guess."
"Okay, now what track?"
"Easiest?"
"Tch, and you're supposed to be the King of your race? Chicken."
"I've never played this before!"
"And that's my problem how?"
"You are so heartless sometimes, Yugi."
"Well, I do try my best."
"Just pick one already."
"Soups done!" Yami interrupted holding up a bowl of the stuff.
"Yay! Food!" Yugi said dropping the controller and bounding over to him.
"Now we both can get a hang of this game." Yami said plopping onto the couch.
"Fine, but you're the cat." Atem said glancing over at their human mate to see that he wasn't eating out of the bowl anymore, he was eating out of the pot.
"Yugi! Do not inhale your food!"
"But!"
"No."
He started to eat at a slower pace, and once Atem became satisfied with it he looked away to see that the race had already started and he was a lap behind. He said several things in his ancient tongue, making Yami laugh, as he passed him again.
"Little cheater."
"I can't believe you're only now figuring this out."
"I call winner!" Yugi cried out from behind them making them both jump.
"I thought I told you not to inhale that." Atem said.
"I was hungry." Yugi whined.
"And that means you'll be playing, Yami."
"That's okay, because you'll be playing winner after him, and I want my kitty back." he growled out that last part.
"Okay, I'll give you your controller back."
"We need music." Yugi said walking over to his radio. He popped in a CD and flipped through the songs, until he came to a certain one. Hold me now by Red. Both vampires fumbled with their controllers as they turned to look at him briefly.
"Who sings this?" Yami asked as he dropped a red beaker in front of Atem, giving him no choice but to hit it. Yugi laughed as a rain cloud formed over his players head.
"Red."
"That…was not nice. Why do you like it so much?"
"Because it was the first time I didn't mind being around you. It was the first time I actually wanted your company."
"What do you mean?" Yami asked.
"Think about it. Before Grandpa was attacked, I never wanted to be around you, after though…it was the first time I ever asked for you. The first time I didn't gripe or complain about being held. If memory serves me correctly, it was the first time I actually leaned into you."
"Hmm, are those side effects finished yet?"
"Two of them are, and one of two is almost finished."
"What was the first one?" Atem asked, well more of demanded.
"Uh uh uh." Yugi wagged his finger at him as Yami crossed the finish line and suddenly found himself without a controller.
Yugi took Atem's and shoved it into his hands, as he set the course to the second easiest. He beat Yami in three minutes flat, leaving the vampire flabbergasted. Handing the controller over to Atem, he was told to cream him.
Yugi grinned at Atem as he set it to the easiest setting again, and beat him in even less time. Atem huffed in frustration demanding a re-match. Yugi gave it to him, again and again and again and again. Yugi was growing bored as he beat Atem again, and a little hungry too. Winning all the time really built up an appetite.
"Here, Yami, you play. I'm going to go to the main kitchen to get some food. Maybe you can win against Yami, Atem." Yugi said patting his shoulder in mock sympathy.
"I think we should go bowling again." Atem muttered.
"Uh huh." Yugi nodded grabbing a broom from the closet, he walked out with it. He glanced back into the room to see that they were happily distracted with his PS1, he shut the doors and put the broom through the handles. There was silence in the room for a second, from what Yugi could hear.
"What was that?" Yami asked in a weary tone.
"Let me go check." Atem said.
"Okay, but I don't know how to pause this thing, just so you know." Yami responded as the door shook like someone had tried to open it.
"Oh dear, we've been locked in." Atem said not sounding worried.
"I'll check the other doors." Yami said. There was movement around the room, but Yugi didn't hear any other doors opening.
"Oh, great, we really are locked in."
"Yugi, let us out!" Atem demanded. Yugi just laughed before skipping down the hallway towards the kitchens.
"YUGI!" the yell of both of their voices echoed throughout the bottom floor.
Best day ever!
[Time Skip]
Yugi sat in the tower, sighing. He held his growing belly, it was hard to believe that it was already the third month of his pregnancy, it felt as if it should be longer. The last of side effects had worn off a couple of hours ago. He grinned, he couldn't believe he had actually gotten away with locking them in his Game Room. He couldn't believe they had actually become distracted enough so he could. He really needed to find a new way to punish them, though. Something that took little planning, but was very effective. But what? It was the question he was facing.
A broken broom handle was dropped at his feet. He looked up to see Atem and Yami standing there before him. He bit his lip, trying to hide the smile that was threatening to creep onto his face.
"That was not nice." Yami said.
"And have you had any sugar today, Yugi? Raw sugar?" Atem asked squatting down by him.
"Is that a crime?" Yugi asked back.
"It is when you abuse it."
"Hm, that's nice. I'm hungry, I'll go get something to eat from the kitchens. Do you want anything?"
"Is that a joke?" Yami asked. Yugi shrugged before making his way downstairs. Arms snagged around his waist.
"Oh no, you're not going anywhere. Yami will go get you food." Atem said carrying him back up the steps.
"But I'm hungry now." Yugi complained.
"Yeah, well tough." Yami ground out as he zipped past them.
"How did you manage to lock all the doors?"
"Well, I was left alone in that room for a good five minutes before you guys located me."
"Was that the plan all along?"
"No, that was a whim."
"And eating all those side effects? A whim?"
"No, that was planned." Yugi laughed worming his way out of Atem's arms and bounding into the baby room. He looked around the Blue Laguna painted room. It had taken them awhile, but they had all settled on this color, and it looked fantastic with the gold that Yami had picked out for the stars. He wouldn't tell them what it was called, he had just painted them on, but it created a beautiful contrast of color. Yugi flicked on the lamp that sat on the dresser, it created planets to rotate on the ceiling. The room, it was really coming along, and he still couldn't believe he had gotten away with putting the giant teddy bears in the room. Yes, they had bought him a second one, even though he had been joking.
Yugi fell into one of them, snuggling up against the fur, and inhaling a mouthwatering lingering scent. Foreign spices, cinnamon, and peaches. A new scent perked his interest as it wafted across his senses, fresh bread and honey. Yugi looked up to see Yami was back and holding a tray filled with food. He smiled and whipped past him the tray transferring hands in the process.
There was honey drizzled bread, peaches, pomegranates, cheese curds, red grapes, mangos, and milk. No meat. There was no food that was substantial to feeding a hungry horde of children, himself included. He turned to glare at Yami.
"What did I do?"
"Where's the meat?"
"Seriously?"
"I need meat. Feed me meat."
"I'll go get some." Atem chuckled.
Yugi fiddled with a piece of mango, before inhaling it all in one sweep. He smacked his lips, looking aback at Yami. He stared at Yugi, mouth dropped in shock.
"You're not a vacuum, Yugi."
"Well, if you would feed me more often, I wouldn't have to devour it all at once."
"Oh, so now this is our fault?"
"Why? Are you taking blame?"
"No."
"Shoot, then I suppose that means I'll have to."
"You'll have to what?" Atem asked coming into the room with a variety of meats.
"Take blame for being hungry all the time." Yugi answered reaching out for the tray. Atem stupidly gave it to him. He was handed back an empty tray a minute later. Atem growled in frustration.
"No, bad Yugi, do not inhale the food. You're going to end up choking on a bone from a chicken or something that way."
"So just give me the boneless ones."
"You're missing the point." Yami sighed.
"I don't think I am."
"What time is it?" Atem asked collapsing onto the bed.
"12:03 am." Yami answered. Atem frowned looking at Yugi.
"Don't worry, Atem."
"About what?"
"I already got sick tonight."
"Very funny, now come over here, we all need some sleep after the day we had."
"What do you want to do tomorrow?" Yugi asked getting off his desk chair and obeying.
"Feed from you, and watch you sleep it off." They answered together.
"So, a usual Sunday?"
"That would be nice." Yami nodded.
"Okay, I'll allow it." Yugi said laying down for a good night's rest.
"Don't you want to get on your pajamas first?" Atem asked.
"Nah, I'll just sleep in the nude." Yugi said taking off his shirt and pants. He put his head back on the pillow, feeling tired and worn out.
"Love you guys, goodnight."
"We love you too, Yugi." They whispered back before making a sardine of him and falling asleep together.
[Time skip]
Yugi opened his eyes, or at least he thought he did. He felt them close slowly again, before re-opening them again. Funny, he could have sworn he had slept much longer than this, but apparently not. It was still very dark outside. He sat up, and scrunched up the blankets in his fists, or at least he was supposed to be. Where did they go? He couldn't feel them. Perhaps, this was a…a nightmare. He raised his hand to slap himself, but nothing happened, not even the sting on his cheek of skin on skin. He raised his hand to do it again, but it stopped and shook from side to side like he was waving at someone. Then it just dropped lifelessly to where his lap should be, he never felt the impact though. Something very…odd, was going on.
His head chose that moment to tilt to the side, of its own accord. He went to move his head back in its upright position, but something was holding it in this tilted fashion. What the heck was going on? His head was released.
What do you mean his blood takes like acid?
Putrid acid, Yami, putrid acid.
"Huh?" he asked, or tried to. Though he felt the word move through his vocal cords, it never escaped his lips. His hands flew up to his throat, where was his voice? Where was it? His hands yanked themselves away from his throat. Why didn't he have control of his own body? He started to become scared, very scared. Where were his mates? Where were they?
Right here, Yugi, we're right here.
"Where?" he asked. One of his hands clamped down on his throat again as no sound passed his lips, and the other reached out trying to find them. Again, his hand was pulled from his throat. His whole body started to shake in fear; what was happening?
Yugi, can you hear me?
Yes.
How many fingers am I holding up?
Five.
I don't get how he does that.
Where is my voice coming from?
My mind?
Okay, what direction are you facing? Yami or me?
I don't know, all I see is darkness. Pure unfiltered darkness.
Alright, alright, calm down, just calm down.
We'll get this figured out.
It was silent again. What were they doing? Were they getting Isis? Were they bringing him to Isis? Did they just leave him there? Alone? He shifted, taking hesitant movements forward until he suddenly found himself in an awkward position. He had a sense that he was floating, or someone was holding him up around the waist, and then the sensation was gone.
What do you mean there is nothing wrong with him?!
Can you not see the condition he's in? He almost fell off the bed face first because he can't see.
"Or talk, or hear, or smell, or feel anything, can't taste the air either. You know, now that I think about, those are my five senses, completely gone. Sight, sense, taste, hearing, smell. Not sure how not being able to talk fits into that. Or maybe…maybe I am talking, I just can't hear myself talking. Oh, Isis what's wrong with me?" Yugi felt all of this pas through his vocal cords, but true to his words, his ears registered none of it.
She has no idea, because according to her healer magic you're as fit as a fiddle.
Maybe we need a second opinion.
Really? What kind?
A humans? They may have come across this before. A scared human's family might have taken them in to see a doctor. Not all humans live with their vampires you know. Malik doesn't.
He has a point.
No, out of the question.
Atem, we need to know what's wrong with him. So we can prevent it from happening in the future.
It was silent for a few moments.
Okay, Yami, grab him, Isis you're coming too.
Alright, I'm picking you up now, Yugi. He waited.
Have you done it yet?
Uh huh.
I don't like this.
Neither do we, we were deprived of a decent meal this morning.
Like that matters! I'm trapped in a dark bubble. No outside contact except from what I get through our link.
Feeding us doesn't matter again?
No. Not while I'm like this it doesn't.
Don't you just feel the love, Atem?
Oh yes, it's just coursing over the link.
Silence reigned over the link then. Yugi fidgeted, bouncing his legs up and down. He breathed out a couple of times, before breaking the silence, it was just too much for him.
What color is the sky today? Is it blue? I like the color blue. Do you like the color blue? Grey is okay too, but that usually means rain. Is it gonna rain today. I hope not, I don't want it to rain. I want it to be bright and sunny! Or maybe it's gonna snow? You never know with Mother Nature these days, she's always changing her mind. Could be one thing one second and another the next. So what color is the sky?
Wow, Yugi, do you not like the silence?
Nope!
Could you break it in a less annoying way?
Nope! I'm just gonna keep ranting on until you guys can hold up your end of the conversation. Which reminds me, baby names, we need to talk about baby names. Boy and girls ones, because nobody knows what I'm having all we know is I'm having twins. So, throw some at me.
We would, but you won't stop talking.
Point?
Okay, a boy, Akhnen.
Akhnen?
Is that an issue?
No, because I'm sure it's spelt as strangely as it's said.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
It's not funny, Yami!
No, that was hilarious!
Fine, then tell him yours!
For a girl, Avashey.
Where do you come up with such bizarre names?
Alright, what were you thinking of then?
Marchelle, or maybe Daniel.
But that's so ordinary.
And easy to spell.
Whatever.
Doctors here.
Good, now we can find out what's wrong with him.
Yay.
Silence.
AN OVERDOSE OF SIDE EFFECTS!
Ah! Not so loud!
So let me get this straight, because he took on more than three side effects in a day, all of his five senses have been cut off. On top of that though, his blood will taste bad for the next 96 hours. Okay, so how long does the senses being cut off last?
Six to 72 hours. I suppose that makes sense. What do we do about it?
Actually, he can hear us, through our mind link. But putting him to sleep isn't possible right now. He's pregnant, he no longer listens to suggestive hypnotism.
Three months.
He will?
He will what?
That's…convenient.
He will what?
Go to sleep, Yugi.
Kay. His eyelids shifted close, and he was dreaming.
"Just find it, damn it!" Atem yelled at Seth.
"Fine." Seth said turning to leave just as a huge wolf crossed his path.
"Bakura?" Yami questioned lightly his eyes moving to the barely breathing human on his back.
A scary amount of blood was seeped into his coat, as he raced away from them not even bothering to acknowledge them. He appeared to be heading for the Hospital as he growled and barked at anyone who got in his way. The three vampires just stared after him.
"Whoa, that was a lot of blood." Seth said his eyes wide.
"Poor human." Yami cooed.
"He probably won't even make it through the night." Atem commented logically.
"Yeah, they're such weak and fragile creatures after all." Yami nodded.
"It's a shame, he smelled so sweet." Seth commented before vanishing to go do whatever it was that Atem wanted him to do.
"Come on, let's go home." Atem said wrapping his arm around Yami's shoulders.
"Do you think Raphael will change his mind?" Yami asked.
"No, I figure he'll do anything to get away from us at this point." Atem shook his head.
"Do you think we'll ever find him again?"
"Ha ha, you're so impatient. I already told you a thousand times, I put spell on him that will call out to us before he turns 18. Patience, Yami, patience."
"It's not my strong point."
"I know. It's one of the things that I love about you."
"Hmm, well I suppose I'll just have to let you be patient enough for both of us."
"Sounds good to me, come on, Habibi, we have a human to turn." Atem said taking his hand and the two took off.
The scene shifted to Ancient Egypt. Atem was sitting on his throne looking down at that princess that looked like Anzu, Teana, he thought Atem called her. His glare was full of hatred, as he motioned for one of the guards to bring another forwards. A small but pretty boy was thrown down beside her.
"Is this not the man you paid to do your dirty work, Princess Teana?"
"You were supposed to marry me! Not some slave!"
"He was not a slave! He was my personal servant! And as Pharaoh, I have the right to take on more than one bride, more than one wife!"
"You made a deal with my father to unite our lands together!"
"Something I have upheld by hosting you in my Palace. We never discussed marriage. As if I could ever bear being married to a selfish brat like you anyway. Just what were you planning on doing with him, once you had him out of the Palace grounds?"
"Selling him to a slave trader. He would have been long gone before you had awakened. Just how did you find out he was missing?"
"Oh, Princess, I've always been a light sleeper. The simplest of difference in a breathing pattern can awaken me. To have not been awoken by all the noise those fools were making would have been outrageous to even fathom as an idea."
There was a noise from the doorway, drawing their attention. Atem saw many guards standing in there. At the front of the line, the head of his guard had his head bowed, hiding his facial expression. Good they were back.
"Bring him forth, and show this little brat, that nothing will ever take him from me."
"My Pharaoh." The head guard started.
"Come, I'm anxious to have him at my side again." Atem said pointing at the pillow next to his chair. Yugi gasped, Yami. This must have been directly after he had left.
"We couldn't find him. Nobody in town had ever seen him. He is gone." He finally looked up, his face covered in shame and guilt.
"That's impossible, now bring him forth."
You could see in Atem's eyes, the hurt and betrayal as clear as the moon in a night sky. You could see that he was trying to deny what he already knew to be the truth. What he didn't want to believe. Yami…was gone.
"You see? He didn't want to be here anyway." Teana smiled like she had won.
"Kill her." Atem said with no emotion and slanted eyes.
"My Pharaoh?"
"And send her body back to her Father. Our unity with him is over."
"But that could start a war!"
"Who cares? He's gone. Nothing else matters." Atem ran from the throne room and Yugi followed. He ran all the way to his rooms where he threw himself onto the bed, and cried, just cried. Yugi walked over and sat on the bed next to him, rubbing his back. He knew this was just a memory dream, but he couldn't help but try to offer comfort to him. After all, that's what you did for people you loved, right?
The scene shifted again and Yugi was laying on his back, looking up at the stars. Two figures plopped down next to him. No one said anything for awhile, being in each other's company was enough.
"Can you believe it?" Yugi asked breaking the serene silence.
"Believe what?" Yami asked.
"I'm actually turning 10,000 years old tomorrow. Huh, and I thought 100 was a milestone. We should have party."
"Okay, but no candles on the cake." Atem agreed, sorta.
"Oh, come on, Atem, you're not going to let me have a bonfire?"
"Not on the cake."
"You're no fun."
"No I just don't want another incident like what happened at your 1,000th birthday."
"It was only one room."
"It was only one room he says." Yami chuckled. They all laughed.
"Still though, 10,000…what a number."
Yugi's eyes slowly started to flutter open, yawing as he did so. He rubbed at them, to get the last traces of sleep to go away, before sitting up. The world was bright and colorful again. Oh good, the punishment for using too many side effects at once was gone. He certainly wouldn't be doing that again.
He looked around to see Atem standing on the balcony, and Yami nowhere in sight. Seeing Atem though, brought to mind that first memory dream he had had. A bubble of laughter started to form in his throat, and though he tried to hold it back, it still came forth. Atem whipped around at the sound of his laughter. He couldn't help it, it was the most amusing thing to him.
"Hey, what's so funny?" Atem asked stepping back into the room.
"You…forgot!"
"Forgot what?"
"Me!"
"Oh no, we could never forget you, Yugi." Yami said appearing suddenly and wrapping his arms around his waist.
"Oh no? Poor human. He probably won't make it through the night. You'd think you could recall my odd looks, but no, you just carry on your merry way. No recognition what so ever. But you know what I find even more amusing?"
"What?" Atem asked in a bored tone.
"That spell you put on me, it would have been very funny if you had found me one second before I turned 18. Do you have any idea what time that would be?"
"No."
"11:59:59 pm."
"Seriously?" Yami asked.
"Yeah." Yugi nodded.
"Oh Ra, we're having a normal conversation! That must mean you're out of that dark bubble as you called it." Yami said suddenly giddy.
"Uh yeah, I guess I am." Yugi nodded.
"Good, and it only took seven hours. Maybe his blood will go back to normal faster now too." Atem sighed pushing off one of the bed posts and climbing onto the bed with them.
"I'm sorry." Yugi said his eyes losing their humor and becoming downcast.
"What for?" Yami asked.
"This is my fault. If I was a better human, than you wouldn't have to wait for four days to feed from me."
"Don't beat yourself up, Yugi. It's done, nothing we can do now but wait it out." Atem sighed kissing his forehead.
"I know, but I still feel bad."
"Don't, it'll sort itself out."
"Okay, if you say so."
"I'll go get you something to eat."
[Time skip]
It took them the whole week before Yugi finally let it go. Or rather, until they fed from him until he let it go. Everyone was getting very busy with the school festival coming up, and Yugi, well he was becoming more visible every day. It was starting to make some of the teachers nervous. At least until one took the matter into their own hands, and calling him from his classroom to talk in private.
After assuring his mates that he would be just fine, he followed the teacher down the hallway where he stopped at the end of it. He took off his toupee and fiddled with it, before putting it back on. Yugi frowned, he had never had this teacher and therefore didn't know his name, but he still taught at this school, right?
"Look, here's the thing, you're pregnant and everyone knows it."
"Yeah."
"So the staff thinks that it would be best if you just didn't attend the school festival or help out this year."
"But I'm a senior and this will account for 1/3 of my grade."
"And as long as the school board or public doesn't see you, you will get an A on the project. But if anyone does see you, what do you think they'll see? A pregnant teenager associated with Domino High, and a male one too. It's not and image we want to project. So, just be sick those two days, okay?"
"Yeah, sure." Yugi nodded feeling as if he was worthless at the moment.
"I knew you'd understand, Mutou." he clapped a hand on Yugi's shoulder before walking off. Yugi turned and walked back to his mates, wrapping his arms around himself.
"So what did he…Yugi, what's wrong?" Yami switched questions after noticing his saddened expression.
"I don't want to be pregnant anymore." He cried burying his face into his chest.
"Yugi, talk to us, what happened? What did he say?"
"He said I couldn't attend the festival because I'm pregnant. They don't even want me helping out in the back just in case someone was to stumble upon me."
"What!?" Atem nearly shouted but it definitely came out in a growl.
"But…what about your grades? This counts for a third of them because you're a senior."
"They said if I don't attend I'll get an A, but if I do…it's not fair! I didn't ask for this to happen! It just did!" Yugi wailed into Yami's shirt.
"I'll go figure this out." Atem said grimly turning around in the direction of the principal's office.
"No! Don't make a big deal out of it, please!" Yugi jumped away from Yami to latch onto Atem's wrist begging him with pleading eyes.
"But Yugi, you're upset by this."
"Yes, I am, but he said the staff didn't want me there. The principal is part of the staff."
"Yeah, but that's the part that doesn't make sense. If he didn't want you to attend the festival, wouldn't he have told you himself? Come on Yugi, I know you're very intelligent, use the brain that Kami gave you."
Yugi bit his lip, a small smile creeping onto his lips, as he let Atem's wrist go and nodded. He walked down the hall, disappearing around the corner. Yami sighed pulling him back into his arms.
"Come on, let's-"
"Go home."
"But the set up?"
"I don't want to help with something I'm not even going to get a chance to be a part of." Yugi sniffed looking up at Yami with wide eyes.
"Okay, we'll go home. And tonight, we'll do something just the three of us. How does that sound?"
"Like a good plan." Yugi smiled.
[Time skip]
Yugi sat on his bed, laughing as he played the video over and over again. That had been a great idea of Yami's, though he was sure they would have appreciate it if they could have actually gotten to the end of the movie. Yugi didn't care though, he just wanted to watch the one part over and over again, it was funny.
Atem had come back with the news that the principal was in on it he just didn't know how to say it without appearing rude or biased. He was upset that one of the staff members took the matters into their own hands, but was a little happy that he no longer had to worry about it. They said they would make it up to him somehow, though they were unsure of how as of yet. Oh, and while they were asking him of things he could give up doing would he give up Valedictorian too?
His door creaked open and he looked over at it. Malik, Jou, and Ryou were poking their heads inside. He blinked, and paused his fun, weren't they supposed to be getting ready for the festival?
"What are you guys doing here?"
"Are you really sick?" Ryou asked.
"No."
"So it's true!?" Malik asked his voice heavy with disbelief.
"I knew we were doing the right thing!" Jou proclaimed as the door opened wider revealing more people.
"W-what are you doing?"
"The right thing, Yug!"
"Yes, because chances are you didn't even know you could get pregnant." A very feminine voice said.
"Mai?"
"So we spread the news throughout the seniors." Miho's voice added.
"Yeah, and we all decided that they either accept all the seniors or they get none of them." Rebecca said pushing her way through.
"Look outside, Yugi!" Otogi's voice said.
He placed his computer down on the bed, and crawled to the end of it. He put on a shirt, one of Yami's it looked like because it was slightly too big for him, and walked out onto the balcony. There covering every inch of his garden was the senior class. They cheered when they saw him though. Some shouted out things that were lost among the noise. He covered his mouth as tears started to flow down his cheeks. He was overwhelmed by the display of loyalty that his fellow students were showing him.
"Hey! Why are there so many people in our stairwell?!" Atem's voice shouted.
"What going on!?" Yami's voice asked.
"Guys, you have to see this." Yugi said through his happy tears.
"Oh, let us through, let us through, he's crying!"
"Yugi, what's wrong?" Atem asked appearing at his side as Yami pushed through the crowd to get inside.
"Nothing, look!" he pointed into the garden.
"Whoa…" they said together.
"What about your grades?" Yugi asked looking past them at his friends.
"Well, they can't fail all of us, can they?" Penny asked.
"Yeah, how would that look to the school board? No one in the class of 2015 graduated because the staff was being jerks." Malik grinned.
"All of us, or none of us. Those are their choices." Kaiba said strongly.
"You guys are the best friends ever!" Yugi cried throwing himself at them.
"You're watching this video again?" Yami asked.
"I like it!" Yugi laughed as he untangled himself from the hug and hit the play button again. A catchy little tune filled the room and Yugi sang along with it.
"Hormones…hormones. Punch you in the face, punch in the face, all I wanna do is punch you in the face. I just got backne. Calling bullshit on the whole thing pregnancy sucks. Making a human being sucks."
He hit it back to where it started again and sang some more, a smile just lighting up his face. He looked over at his friends who were giving him these odd looks of 'you are so easily amused'. He just grinned playing the short video again.
"Can we watch the end now?" Atem asked.
"No, I like this part!"
"Well, when can we watch the end?" Yami asked.
"When the kids arrive."
"That's not for another six months."
"You'll survive. Calling bullshit on the whole thing pregnancy sucks. Making a human being sucks."
"Why are you wearing my shirt?" Yami asked.
"Cause it's comfy." Yugi said pausing the video and snuggling into him.
"How are we going to feed all these people?" Atem asked.
"Got any turkeys or whole pigs?" Yugi asked.
It only took one school day for the staff to change their mind on their decision, but Yugi was happy that he was able to attend the festival. He just a made a deal with them that they would set up in front of one of the men's rooms. That way if he needed to go, he could just go. A few of his friends had been angry about it, but Yugi said it was a compromise he was willing to live with. They also talked about the Valedictorian thing, and both agreed that maybe it would be best if Kaiba did that. Yugi wanted to write the speech though, because they all knew Kaiba could put an entire room to sleep with his droning voice. Principal Akiha agreed that would probably be best.
The festival went off without a hitch. Yugi was never seen, asked for many times, but never seen. At first they had him helping out with the food, but after one…two, possibly ten, orders were sent back they put him on dish detail. Yugi Mutou was definitely not a cook.
Atem and Yami constantly checked up on him, in between fighting off human girls and taking orders. After Yugi caught a strong whiff of one on Yami, it was determined that he should probably head home, early. He didn't want to of course, he wanted to burst out of the back and teach that female, whoever it was, a lesson. Do not touch my man! It took Atem, Yami, two vampires, and two werewolves to get him out of the building and into a relatively uninhabited area. It took his mates even longer though, to get him to calm down.
"Nothing happened. Atem pulled her off, I swear." Yami said again for what felt like the 15th time.
"But I can smell her all over you." Yugi huffed.
"Calm down." Atem said placing his hands onto his shoulders.
"I don't want you guys waiting tomorrow."
"But we have to, they need us out there on the floor." Yami said confusion filtering his tone.
"Uh uh, you're cooking and that's final."
"Yugi, we have-."
"Mm-mm."
"Look…yes, dear." All of Atem's fire died at the look Yugi was giving him and conceded the fight. He was definitely liking this newly discovered look.
"That's what I thought. I will see the two of you at home, and don't you dare be late." Yugi turned and left them standing there.
"Have you ever gotten the feeling, lately, that he's the Seme and we're the Ukes?" Yami asked.
"More often than you think." Atem answered.
"How did that happen?"
"No idea."
"Do you think we could reverse it?"
"I think we had that chance at some point and lost the only opportunity we were ever going to get."
"We need a time machine."
"Let me know when you invent one. I'll use it to prevent you from running away."
"Then I wouldn't have made a new best friend."
"This is true."
"Are you guys coming back in today? Or are you just going to keep talking out here?"
"As soon as he's out of sight, we'll come in." Yami responded.
"Okay, oh and a Mahad is looking for you."
"I'll take care of it, you watch him." Atem said.
Yugi stopped and turned around. He had to be at least ten or twenty feet from where he started walking. Man his hearing was good, and he'd gotten better at controlling his speed. He shrugged and picked it up. He really wanted to lay down, his feet were killing him.
The next day went more smoothly. Atem and Yami cooked so fast, the waiters and waitresses had no time to stand around and wait for the meals to come out. They would give their orders and were presented with the plates what seemed like two seconds later. Yugi washed so many dishes, his hands looked like prunes by the end of the day. He had Yami carry him home, he didn't feel like walking.
[Time skip]
"There's only five?" Yugi confirmed.
"Yes." Isis nodded taking her hands off of his belly.
"Okay, you're the doctor."
"Yugi, we warned you this would happen." Yami said gently.
"I know, but I just didn't expect it to feel like this."
"Well, you should be less hungry now." Atem said. Yami smacked him upside the head, as Yugi and Isis threw him disbelieving looks.
"Ow, what?" he asked rubbing the back of his head.
"You are so insensitive." Yami reprimanded.
"Well, he's going to lose at least five more. Might as well get used to it now."
"I'm having twins!" Yugi shouted clutching the blankets.
"That's it, I'm sending you to parenting classes, Atem." Isis said giving a look that said not to argue with her.
"What about him?" Atem asked jerking his thumb at Yami.
"He's not being an asshole."
"I'm being factual."
"You're being rude."
"I agree with Isis, and Yami will be going with you. We're signing you both up. You need to be ready for when the twins arrive."
"Yeah, and what about you?"
"I've been reading in my spare time about new Motherhood. I feel more than ready, I feel prepared. It's you two I'm concerned about." With those words Yugi slid off the bed, and walked out.
"We're not actually going are we?" Yami asked.
"Of course not." Atem assured him.
[Time skip]
"Now play nice with the other future parents, and don't get into trouble on your first day, okay?" Yugi said straightening a wrinkle out of Atem's shirt.
"I'm not your kid, Yugi." Atem said giving him a pointed look.
"Yeah, if anything, you could be ours." Yami added.
"Just make some friends, okay?" Yugi said walking away. He placed a hand over his belly sighing. It was growing each and every day, and he still wasn't sure he had made the right decision on keeping them.
Reading a book on being a good Mother was one thing, but actually putting that into practice was another. What if he messed up? What if the kids ended up hating him? What if something happened to him, and he couldn't be there for them like his own parents? Honestly, what was he supposed to do? And it wasn't like he could go to another male Mother to get advice. After all, did he know any?
He shot up in bed, of course he did. Bakura! He was a male mother. Should he go now though, or wait until tomorrow? Well, tomorrow was Sunday, so he'd be feeding a couple of vampires. Bakura was still a little moody according to Ryou, so dropping by unexpectedly probably wouldn't be the best idea. He'd wait to ask Ryou about it Monday. He flopped back down on the bed sighing, his life was really complicated.
