Chapter 46

"WHAT!?" she screamed running out of her office. Yugi yelled in pain, confirming Atem's words. "Okay, okay, okay, come here, put him on the bed, I have to make a phone call." She disappeared back into her office.

Atem set him down on one of the beds. They stood there on either side of him, as he screamed again. Could no one understand that these kids wanted out now? And there was no way they were coming out the natural way. It wasn't happening, he wasn't a werewolf, and he didn't have the right body parts for that.

Atem frowned before heading into Isis's office too. Yami shifted, before kneeling down beside him. He grasped Yugi's hand, and winced as Yugi yelled again and squeezed it at the same time. He tried to take it back, but Yugi wasn't giving it up.

"Distract me," Yugi ordered.

"What?"

"Talk to me, Yami. I don't care what it's about, I just need a distraction from all this pain."

"I'd like my hand back. I mean I really want my hand back. I'm pretty sure it's already broken, so if you could just let go…"

"I changed my mind, I do care, talk about something else."

"It feels like you're in a lot of pain?"

"Yami!"

"I just want my hand back."

"Then you're going to have to pry it loose."

"I have been trying."

"Really? Hm, I didn't notice."

"Obviously."

"Yami, your hands gone purple," Atem said reappearing.

"He won't let go."

"Well, maybe he needs something to hold on to. Better your hand than other things right?"

"You're not helping."

"Okay, I'm here, dominant males out!" a new voice that sounded oddly like Silver yelled.

"Oh good, when you just hung up, I wasn't sure if you were going to come or not," Isis said in relief.

"You sounded desperate," Silver said coming into Yugi's view. She had a small tool box with her.

"Yami, go get Katherine. The kids will be hungry when they come out."

"Right," he said. "If you can get him to let go, I'd be more than happy to do that."

Everyone looked down at his hand. It looked like it had suffered a severe frostbite. It was slowly turning from purple to black. It took both Isis and Atem to free him, and then Silver kicked both of the male vampires out.

"Okay, Molly, we're going to need hot water, towels, chains, scalpel, and scissors. Go!" Isis ordered.

"Yes, ma'am."

"Do we need anything else?"

"That wet nurse, Katherine you said her name was?"

"Yes."

"We can't start until she's in here. Where is your most secure room?"

"Uh, my office, I guess."

"You guess or you know?"

"No, my office, is the most secure place in the healing chambers."

"That's where we're going to put the babes as soon as they're out."

"Could you hurry?" Yugi begged gripping the edges of the bed. He was starting to bend them into the shapes of his closed fists.

"We're going as fast as we can, Yugi," Silver assured him. "Breathe like this for me. Hee hee hoo. Hee hee hoo. Hee hee hoo."

"Hee hee hoo. Hee hee hoo. Hee hee hoo. This was helping tremendously. Hee hee hoo. Hee hee hoo."

"Okay, I'm back should we get started?" Molly asked.

"No, we need to wait for the wet nurse. When the kids are born, we're going to lock her, you, and the babes in your office."

"Yugi, is in pain, we can't wait any longer."

"I agree, but I also did some research as to why I've never heard of a male human Mother before. Let alone a pregnancy. The truth was shocking."

"There are usually complications with the birth."

"Nothing that can't be avoided."

"What do you mean? I've talked about this with several other vampire doctors, and they just said there was a complication with the birth that ended up in the Mother's death. And as is natural, the vampire kills themselves days later, because they lost their young and mate all in one sitting. Mates can't live without their mates."

"They can't live with guilt either."

"What are you talking about? I'm going to make a point to make sure that Yugi isn't just another causality of those complications. It was never explained in full how the complication arose, but it did explain the outcome."

"Death, I know. I'll help in any way I can."

"I'm going to hold you to that."

"I'm here, they told me he was in labor?" Katherine said rushing into the room. Silver shut the door behind her and locked it with her own brand of magic.

"We begin now," Silver said reappearing at Yugi's bedside. "Here's how it's going to happen Yugi. We're going to chain you down, cut you open, and take out the children. I'm going to hand them off to Molly and Katherine and they're going into Isis's Office where she will lock them in using her healing brand of magic. We're going to pull Yami into the room and have him seal you up. After that is done, we'll be able to bring the children back out into the main room, so you can hold them. Do you understand all of this?"

"Yes, so bring on that morphine," Yugi said grinning, before screaming.

"You weren't listing very well."

"What do you mean?"

"What did I say?"

"That you were going to chain me down, cut me open, and take the children out. Then you-no morphine?"

"No."

"Sedatives?"

"None."

"Oh come on, even Bella got morphine."

"This isn't a fairytale, Yugi, this is real life."

"Whatever, just do it!" he released his hold on the sides of the bed, and they chained his arms around the bars on the headboard. They chained down his chest, hips, and ankles.

They ripped off his shirt, and Isis took the scalpel in hand. It was too bad, he'd liked that shirt. Maybe he could get the girls to make him a new one. As he was thinking this, she took a deep breath before digging the scalpel in, and cutting a deep gash across the width of his swelled belly. Yugi screamed for different reasons in pain this time. His back arched, and he actually heard one of the chains breaking, before hands pressed his chest back down. That didn't stop the pain though, if anything, it just made it worse.

He felt his mates' minds pressing against his, like they were trying to offer as much comfort as they could. Yugi focused less on the pain, and more of that feeling. It's hard to ignore the feeling of someone digging their hands through your insides though. He tried so hard to focus on them, but found the feeling of someone digging around inside him to be too weird to ignore. A moment later though, there was the sound a baby's cry. Yugi could almost cry with both relief and happiness.

He wanted to hold his babe, but before he could voice this, it was swept away. He didn't even get to see gender. He wanted his babe, his babe, his babe. He wanted to hold that little bundle of joy that had kept kicking him.

The hands dug around inside of him again. Yugi hoped they would find something he really did. He hoped with all of his heart that Isis was wrong. He saw her gasp, and then she was pulling out another crying babe. She smiled at him, and he tried to smile back, but he felt really light headed suddenly.

He barely saw this babe vanish as well. He vaguely heard a door shut, as another opened. Yami was leaning over him. He was hissing, why was he hissing though? Yugi felt a wet slimy object move back and forth across his belly. Oh Yami was healing him, good, his head felt heavier already. He sat up, smiling at Yami, but he wasn't smiling back. He was smelling the air, looking around.

His head snapped to the side, looking directly in the direction of where his kids were. Their kids were. He made a beeline for the door, but Yugi was faster. He was blocking the door before Yami could even make a grab for the handle. Before he could even raise his arm to.

"Move. They hurt you," Yami growled at him.

"No, they needed to come out. That was the only way. You know that!"

"Move, I'm going to kill those little devil spawn."

"Over my dead body," Yugi hissed at him.

"I can arrange that."

"Isis! Get him out of here! Now!" Silver screamed.

Isis ran blindly at him, as Atem burst into the room. Yami scratched Yugi across the face, leaving four deep cuts across his cheek. Yugi roared and kicked him in the gut sending him flying backwards. In the same movement that Isis made a grab for Yami, he was already on his feet and plowing his fist into the side of her head. She went flying into the opposite wall, where she fell to the ground and didn't get back up. Atem lunged forwards and grabbed Yami's wrists, securing them with one hand. With the other, he produced some more of that shadow magic and laid it against his temple. Yami went limp, and Atem dragged him out. Silver locked them both out, and muttered something else under her breath creating a blue light to go up around the door.

Yugi raised his hand to his cheek, coming away with blood. He knew if he was hurt that they would go after the ones that had done it. He had just never thought that would apply to their own children. He suddenly found it hard to breathe again, as he collapsed to his knees and cried, silent tears running down his face. He had no word to describe this feeling, but it hurt him so much, like someone was tearing apart his insides with no care as to how much it was hurting him.

A soft hand touched his injured cheek causing him to jump. It was just Silver though. She was healing the deep gashes on his face, and then she got up to go over to Isis. She re-awakened her, and asked her if she was okay. She nodded, before going over to her office and taking the lock off of it. Yugi was inside before anyone could stop him.

There they were, his two little spicy food haters. They were sleeping right now, in both Katherine's and Molly's arms. One was wrapped in a soft pink blanket, the other blue. A boy and girl. Twins, fraternal twins.

So, I guess you got your wish after all.

Yeah, yeah I did. How's Yami?

He'll survive, but until he calms down, I'm not going to bring him back to this dimension.

Okay.

So, do I have a boy or girl?

I don't know.

Yugi walked forward and took the boy first. He knew as soon as he held his little one, that this was Yami's child. He didn't know how he knew his, he just knew. Maybe, Mother's instinct or something, but this boy, Daniel, was Yami's. He was about to hand his son back to Katherine, when he opened his eyes. They were the same color as his Father's, and Saki's. He looked at his facial features, and saw Yami's nose, and lips. But the child had his head shape, and skin color. He wondered what color hair he had, but they were just going to have to wait until it grew in to find that out. He handed Daniel back to Katherine, and took his daughter from Molly.

Atem's, there was no doubt about it. Again, the child had his face shape, and skin color. Coupled with ruby red lips he'd never seen before, and his Mother's nose. It was the eyes staring at him with curiosity though that had him sold on it. They were the exact shade, shape, and color of her Father's.

"Hey, Marchelle, welcome to the world," Yugi whispered giving her his finger to hold. He walked back into the room, and sat down on a clean bed.

Congratulations Daddy, you're the proud Father of a little girl.

Marchelle Evangeline then.

Beautiful.

And the other one?

Yami's son, Daniel.

Wanna make some more kids tonight?

No!

Kidding, Yugi, I'm kidding. Are they beautiful?

"Here, Yugi," Katherine said handing him his son too. Yugi got more comfortable, before taking his son too.

"Welcome to the world, Daniel," he whispered to his son like he had his daughter.

He found another thing amazing to hold onto. Now he had three of them. He stared at his new bundles of joy with nothing but love in his eyes. He was really going to like being a Mother, he already knew it. If this was what being a Mother truly felt like, he knew he was going to love it. Overflowing with love, with more spilling out every second.

He looked towards the door where his mates were. One awake, one unconscious. It was going to be two weeks before he saw them again. With these two little ones by his side though, he was sure he could handle it. They started to cry, and he started to sing to them. A Disney lullaby by Phil Collins. Or rather the parts that he remembered of it.

So ends My mates, my life. You know how I told you guys several chapters ago that I had the title for the next one all worked out? Yeah, I've changed it about five times since then, possibly more. Stopped counting after five. I've been changing it every time I open the doc it seems. The current working title is A Small Piece of Forever. I know I'll find the right one eventually, but for now, just bear with me as I continuously change the title on you. I will post it under this one though, so you can find it easily enough. Also, about tece, I was going over it, and realized that it's awful. So I think I might go over it again, and re-write some parts of it. Make it better if you will. Enough chatter though.
