Here we have the flipside of chapter 10. Yes, I know it's really cheatsy and very little, but I couldn't think of anything else when I saw the my line divider will stick this time... it annoys me when things show up properly in the editor but not on the page -_-

Prompt: Shining. The only thing they can see in a ten mile radius, and a strange buzzing in their ear that just won't go away.

Freya turned from the scrying pool where she had been watching Merlin and Arthur banter. It was just so heartbreaking to watch him living on alone – well, not alone, especially now that everyone knew the truth; but without someone to love. She was torn between wishing he would move on, and selfishly wanting to keep his heart forever.

"Oh, Merlin…" the image of her love now showed him staring at his hands, and images of the life they could have had together played out in her mind. As she blinked tears from her eyes she became aware of a golden glow building up around her. The shine grew brighter and a strange buzzing filled her ears until it was all she could see and hear.

The light and sound receded abruptly and she was assaulted by water on all sides. Rain. It was raining and she was standing in the lake…

What?

She had just stumbled to shore when she saw him coming. It was dark and her hair was plastered to her face, but still she recognized that brilliant smile.

Merlin practically flew off the horse, lifting her into his arms. They both laughed as they span around, eventually growing dizzy and falling to the soft ground. They showered each other with kisses, hands and eyes confirming that the other person was truly there with them.

This time I'll take care of you.
