Another Day At The Office.
Katrine Paperen entered the hotel room to find it quiet. No, not quiet, silent. She took her bags to her room and placed them on her bed before looking for the boys. Jeff said they had arrived the day before but they weren't here. They must have gone out.
No, something wasn't right. Their beds hadn't been slept in. Their bags were unopened by the door. It looked like they hadn't even come back from the office yesterday. Neither boy answered their phones when she called.
She grabbed her rucksack and left for the office, calling Jeff and telling him they were missing.
When she got there it seemed to be fine. Everything looked like it was in place. Then she saw Scott's phone on the table. And his watch and Gordon's phone and watch. Something was very wrong.
As an IR agent she knew how to find clues brilliant detectives would miss. The wardrobe was unlocked. Is shouldn't be unlocked.
Kat walked over and pulled over the door.
HOLY CRAP!
Gordon was hanging from one of the rails in his underwear with dried blood from small cuts. She ripped the gag from his mouth and picked the locks on the cuffs before lowering him gently to the floor.
"Gordon, speak to me."
He groaned. He had been hanging there for over a day. She called the police and ambulance services. Then she called Jeff.
"I've found Gordon."
"Is he ok? Is Scott?"
"He's alive and I've called for the police and an ambulance. Scott isn't here."
She filled him in and soon sirens approached the building. She hung up the call promising Jeff more information later. The police rushed in with three paramedics and she told them what she knew.
Yesterday at noon both boys had gone to the office and they hadn't come back. She had found Gordon hanging in the wardrobe and Scott was missing. She answered all of their questions before joining Gordon in the ambulance and going to the hospital.
Gordon was malnourished and would be sore under his arms for a while but otherwise ok. He had fallen unconscious on the way to the hospital. The police had put out a watch for Scott.
Gordon had only woken once and said two words before falling back unconscious again.
"Zayn Crowe."
