Nicole walked into Dean and Roman's apartment and kicked the door shut with her foot as she struggled to toss her keys back in her purse, while holding a bag of groceries in her other arm.

"You're not even going to knock?"

She stopped what she was doing and looked up to see Roman standing in the hallway, his arms folded across his chest, an amused smile on his face.

"Not when I have a key." She smirked, allowing her purse to fall to the floor.

"I told Dean we were done for when he gave you a key."

Laughing, she walked over to Roman and reached up to pinch his cheek between her fingers and in the manner the one speaks to a small child said: "Aww, is wittle Roman afraid he's going to get replaced."

"I swear you're Dean with boobs." He pushed Nicole's hand away from his face. "What's the Troublesome Twosome up to tonight?"

Nicole laughed as she walked past Roman and headed for the kitchen, with Roman following close behind her. She sat the grocery bag down on the counter and then leaned over it, resting her elbows on the marble countertop. Her eyes glanced over to the bag and then back to Roman, a small smile on her face.

"There better not be whip cream in there." He pointed towards the bag. "I still can't look at it without gagging."

Nicole breathed out a laugh. "Hehe gagging…"

"Don't finish that thought." He interrupted her, his face in a panic. "Whatever you do, restrict it to Dean's room."

"Oh god you're so funny to scare." Nicole laughed. "There's nothing in there that's going to replicate the…the thing, if you will. We're just going to take it easy tonight. Stay in and make some dinner."

Now it was Roman's turn to laugh. "You two? Cook?"

Her smile faded as she straightened up. "Why are you still here? Shouldn't you be with Micah?"

"She's still at the office." Roman said matter-of-factly. "I'm afraid you and lover boy are stuck with me until she gets home."

Over her dead body would Roman hang out with her and Dean on their first date night in. She walked out of the kitchen and back to the hall where she dropped her purse on the floor. Nicole lowered herself to the floor and unzipped her purse and started digging around until she found what she needed. Twirling the keyring around her finger, she rose to her feet and went back to the kitchen.

"Here." She tossed the keys at him. "Go wait for her there."

The keys fell to the floor, making a small clattering sound. He leaned down and picked them up off the floor. The metal in his hands suddenly felt hot. He looked down at them for a moment before looking back at Nicole.

"What's this?"

"Keys, meathead." Nicole rolled her eyes. "More importantly, they're keys to Micah's apartment. Now skedaddle."

"Who else's house keys do you have?"

"Not important." Nicole waved the subject off. "Now get lost. I need alone time with Dean."

Roman cringed in disgust. "Well, he's in the shower."

She smiled knowingly. "I know. Did you want to see the message he sent me?"

He cringed again. "Can you two do the world a favor and not procreate?"

"Out!" Nicole shouted, pointing in the direction of the front door.

Roman smiled at her, knowing he had gotten under her skin. He waved goodbye and was soon out of her hair.

When Nicole heard the front door open and shut, she let out a sigh of relief. As much as she loved Roman, all she wanted to do was spend time with alone with Dean. They had both been busy with work to really do much together. When they did go out, it was always somewhere with friends. Finally, after Nicole pointing out the obvious to Dean, they decided staying in was their best bet.

She walked out of the kitchen, forgetting about the groceries as her feet carried her to Dean's room. She let herself in and then crossed over to the bed and sat down. Her eyes drifted over to the bathroom door, debating if she should go in there or not. Finally, in the end, she decided to stay put and wait for him to come out. There were a couple things she wanted to talk to him about and Nicole knew if she did join Dean, zero talking would be done.

Dean stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around his waist. With his hair still
dripping wet, he stepped out of the bathroom and smiled when he saw Nicole waiting for him on the bed.

"Hey, babe." He greeted her, walking over to the bed. He leaned down and laughed when Nicole backed away slightly, her slight irritation at getting drops of water on her clothes not going unnoticed by him. Dean smirked and then leaned down closer to catch her lips with his. "Were you waiting long?"

"Nope." Nicole shook her head. "I talked to Roman for a little bit and then I kicked him out. I gave him Micah's keys and sent him on his way."

"Of course you did." Dean rolled his eyes, then straightened up and then started towards his nightstand. "You know Micah is going to kill you."

Nicole snorted at the thought. "Poor her. I sent her Samoan Fabio to her house to wait for her. I'm such a terrible friend."

He grabbed what he needed from his drawer and then dropped his towel to the floor. He caught the look on Nicole's face and just shrugged. "Babe, its not the first time you've seen me like this."

"God willing not the last." She said as she rested on her knees, the mattress shifting underneath her. "Tonight isn't for that."

Dean frowned at the thought and then started putting his boxers on. "We'll see how the night goes."

Nicole seriously doubted that. There was a reason why she had suggested them staying in and making dinner. All she wanted was for them to be alone and have Dean hold her and tell her everything was going to be fine. There was never a time in her life where she found herself so dependent on the comfort and security from a boyfriend, but now she needed it. Once she talked to Dean, Nicole knew it would be all right. She needed assurance from someone who wasn't her; a sometimes anxiety ridden, sarcastic mess.

"Is everything all right?" Dean wondered, concerned.

"Yeah." She said, but didn't sound too confident. "Um, I'll meet you in the kitchen."

He parted his lips to say something, but snapped them shut when she practically jumped off the bed and sprinted out of the room. If this were a cartoon, Dean knew there would be a Nicole shaped hole in the door.

After getting dressed, Dean went to the kitchen and found her anxiously pacing the floor, her hands behind her back and her face with a sullen expression, as if she were arguing with her inner self.

"Babe." He said, standing in front of her and resting his hands on her shoulders. "You're acting weirder then normal. Is everything fine at work?"

"Yes, everything is fine at work." Nicole muttered, looking at her feet.

He chucked her under the chin so that her eyes would meet with his. His concerned eyes held her gaze, silently pleading with her to tell him what was going through her head.

"Whatever is bothering you we can get through together." Dean whispered. "I don't like seeing you like this. I love seeing my loving, sometimes smiling, doofus girlfriend."

Nicole couldn't help but laugh.

Dean took her hand in his and started leading her out of the kitchen. "Come on. Let's talk."

"What about dinner?"

"We'll start dinner afterwards." He said. "I want to hear what's on your mind first."

Nicole sealed her lips and didn't say another word until they made it to the living room and he sat on the couch. Like most times, he sat by the armrest and laid back into the couch, his arm draping the back of it, waiting for her to sit beside him. She sat down next to him and then snuggled into him. Her legs were on the couch, scrunched up towards her and rested her head on his chest.

"Tell me what's going on in that pretty little head of yours." He said, gently laying his arm along her side and taking Nicole's hand in his. "Don't tell me it's nothing."

Her ears were filled with the steady beating of his heart.

"I don't even know where to start."

"Start wherever you want."

She slipped her brown eyes shut and then released a shaky breath. She had to remind herself that she wasn't the first woman to go through this and she wouldn't be the last.

"It all started the other day when I went to touch up my roots at the salon." Nicole finally said. "Naomi and I were talking and she mentioned how she and Jimmy were trying for a baby."

Dean looked down at her confused for a second. "What's that got to do with us?"

She sat up and then turned to face him and tried to hold back her tears. "It made me realize that I'm late."

"Yeah and…." Dean said, his voice trailing off.

Nicole face palmed and then let out a groan of frustration. "I think I'm pregnant."

All the air seemed to get sucked out of Dean's lungs. He hadn't been expecting those words to come out of her mouth. The idea of children now hadn't occurred to them before. Yes, they had talked about it and thought about having kids, but they always said maybe in the future.

"Say something." Nicole whispered, her lower lip shaking.

"I, uh, oh boy." He spit out as he nervously scratched the back of his head. "Pregnant? We might be parents to someone? Us? The same couple who got thrown out of the movie theater for making dinosaur noises throughout the movie. We might be parents? The same people who stole swings from little kids at the park."

"I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the thought, too." Nicole admitted. "What do we do if I am pregnant? I'm afraid, Dean. I don't think I've ever been this scared."

Dean saw how terrified she was and he didn't want to say anything to further upset her. He could see how important it was to her that someone would be comforting in this type of situation.

"There's nothing to be afraid of." He said, resting his hand on top of hers. "If you are pregnant, then that's great! Yes, we didn't expect a baby now. Shit, we weren't even trying. But when it comes down to it, I love you and you love me. We'll have this baby. Sure, it will be hard, but we can do this. Maybe, we'll be the doofiest parents on the face of this earth, but this baby will get everything from a family that I didn't."

"R-really?"

"Yes." He reassured her. "Is this unexpected? Yes. Is it bad? Absolutely not. We'll do what we can to make this entire situation pleasant. I will be there with you every step of the way."

She couldn't help but cry.

"Shh, don't cry." He got up and then helped her up to her feet. His arms wrapped around her and he pulled Nicole in for a hug. He placed a kiss on top of her head, his hands soothingly rubbing circles on her back. "It's going to be fine. We'll probably need to make some adjustments, but nothing too major."

"I just don't want my career to get hindered." Nicole cried. "I worked so hard to get to where I am right now."

"Let's find out first if you are pregnant." Dean said. "If you are, we'll figure out what to do as we go."

"But what about work?"

"You'll have maternity leave." He pointed out. "I'm sure there can be some days where you can work from home. Don't sweat it, baby. We'll work something out. Nothing is going to get in our way."

"What about you? The gym is doing real well."

"We'll be fine." Dean told her, and then kissed her. "Okay?"

She nodded.

"Let's go make some dinner and eat." He smiled. "We'll stop by a store and get a pregnancy test later."

Nicole knew he was nervous. Despite him keeping his voice steady and his eyes clear of fear, his body was trembling. She knew he wasn't too sure of how to take the news either. With the gym doing well and Nicole just landing an account at work, the last thing they needed was a baby to halt all of that. If this were a later time in their lives, Nicole would be all for it. She loves Dean and would love to have a family with him one day.

"Hurry up and unlock the door." Nicole said, jumping in place. "I really have to pee."

"That's what you get for drinking six bottles of water and a Slurpee." He said, pushing the door open and stepping aside. "The throne awaits you."

Nicole rolled her eyes and ran past him and went straight for the bathroom. She slammed the door shut and opened the bag with the pregnancy test. Bouncing her weight from one foot to the other, she fumbled with opening the box. She ripped the directions out and scanned over them real quick.

"You all right in there, babe?"

"Away from the door, Dean!" She screamed at him. "You know I can't go with people standing outside the door."

A couple of minutes later, Nicole sat the test on the counter. She glanced at it before sighing and then washing her hands. When she was done, she dried her hands and looked at it one more time. In a matter of minutes, her and Dean were going to find out just how much their lives were going to change.

"What did it say?" Dean jumped up to his feet.

"Results take three minutes." Nicole sat down on the couch. She tugged down on his hand. "Sit down. It's going to be a long three minutes."

Dean sat down next to Nicole and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer to him. "Okay."

"Okay." She whispered.

Now they wait.

A/N: I wanted y'all to get a glimpse into Nicole and Dean's relationship a bit. Hopefully you guys enjoyed it and hopefully it won't take me as long to update.
