Unknown Point of View
The clock on the bottom of the screen clearly stated it was 6:30 in the morning, Clarke was still sitting there in the corner of the room next to the bathroom. I knew how she felt, I was in her position once before too. Just like her I also didn't belong here, I wasn't supposed to be here. She came from the sky; space. I came from the ground; outside.
I had been watching her since the night before getting a feeling for her motive and what it was she was planning to do. By the looks of it she was planning on doing something incredibly brave. Exactly what I did a few months before she was here. That exact same room, that exact same spot on the floor.
She stood up off the floor wonder around the room again, clearly looking for clues, trying to figure a way out when 'The Starry Night' painting on the wall once again captured her entire attention as it had the night before. I had been fascinated by this painting just like she had, when they had me in that room I would stare at it for hours.
Looking down at the chart that I had stolen and placed in front of me it said that she was an artist. Or at least she enjoyed painting and drawing. I still didn't understand how to do either, I was lucky my brother had taught me to read and speak English before these people captured me.
Taking in a deep breath I looked back up at the screens in front of me scanning them for any sign of my people. Some of Clarke's people had admitted to being attacked the night before we found them. I know my people where hunting them down after that bridge incident. I could only hope at least one of them was still alive and kicking.
"Hey!" I heard Clarke shout causing me to look back towards the screen she was on, she was looking through the window at one of the people of this nut house.
"Hey! Hey!" She continued to shout at the person on the other side of the glass, pounding on the side of the door.
"Clarke you are going to have to break the glass, come on think." I said to myself quietly.
"Where's Monty!" She cried out.
Spinning around on the chair I looked at the cameras from the lower floors, he was with a few of the others getting changed and ready to leave for lunch hour. Which I hated to admit I really wanted to head to myself.
"What the hell did you do to him?" She began to sob through the camera.
She began to back away from the door and paced around the room slightly looking for something, most likely something to break the door with. Or at least the glass, Clarke was a smart girl. She was smart enough to trap my people and kill my friends without any combat training. From what I was hearing she set them all on fire killing whoever was left behind.
Could only imagine what the commander would think about that, he would probably kill any survivors if they didn't bring any of Clarke's people back to him. I looked back down at some of the charts I had managed to find only to look up and find static. Smart girl destroyed the camera. Standing up from the chair I quickly and quietly left the room tossing the files and charts on the main desk before leaving.
I began to make my way down the stairs heading towards to act as if I wasn't breaking the rules they had told me time and time again not to break. Breaching their laws was almost as bad as breaching the laws of my own people. I had almost made it back to the common area when one of the founders began to scream.
"Containment breach! Containment breach!" People began to panic by the sounds of it, I could hear the chairs scraping along the ground, screaming, the alarm had already gone off. Clarke from what I was seeing was just standing there dumbfounded as to what she was seeing. That is exactly as I was the first time they let me out where everyone else was.
Rayne's Point of View
"Bellamy slow down!" I called to him trying to hush my voice, rushing after him as he held a spear in his hand running.
"Rayne, common!" He called back to me stopping dead in his tracks and rushing back to me, "Babe, we aren't safe yet we have to keep moving." He said passing me the dagger he had in his pants.
"Bellamy we have been running all morning, we should go back to the drop ship… Raven needs me." I begged to him as he ignored me pulling me along with him as we continued to run.
We continued running through the forest before Bellamy stopped helping me over a log, which was around the time I realized my own leg was injured. Most likely from the blast, I looked back at him as he too jumped over the log kneeling slightly to look at it. "Just a burn, we will look at it—" He was cut off by the sound of Monroe's voice.
"Bellamy!" She said causing him to whip around pushing me behind him holding the spear up in a defensive stance.
"Get back down," He told them as he took me by the arm leading me to kneel down behind the massive fallen tree followed by the other two following suit looking over at Bellamy and I with fear riddled in their eyes.
"Rayne, are you ok?" Monroe asked.
"She's fine." Bellamy answered for me; he had been like this since the blast back at the drop ship. Acting like I'm breakable, as much as I loved how he was taking care of me, I didn't like that he was assuming I wasn't capable of taking care of myself.
"You were followed?" She asked him as the three of them looked around from the cover. "Quiet." Bellamy urged them.
He came back down placing his hand on my knee almost as if he still didn't believe I was even here with him, I studied his face again as the others looked at him terrified. His face was cut up, and bleeding, I lowered my head. Nothing hurt more than seeing him this way, seeing him hurt.
"Have you seen Finn?" He asked them.
The two looked at one another before turning back to face us, "Finn's alive?"
I nodded putting my hand on Bellamy's "He was. We got separated, we knew the fire was coming so we ran." He explained.
"One of them followed us." I told them, "Shit." Monroe let out.
Bellamy began to study the two of them, neither had any soot on them, and charcoal or residue from the fight. Sure they where slightly dusty but that was about it, they looked completely fine. Not at all like Bellamy who looked like he may have a broken nose, and a busted lip. Or myself, covered in the soot from the fire. They where completely clean.
"How'd you two get out?" He asked his voice full skeptical.
"We uh, saw the ark come down so we thought we'd get help." He explained to us as Monroe looked to her feet.
So they ran in fear. Perfect.
"Piece of it came down this way, Monroe thinks it mecha, but personally I think its-" He said again getting cut off.
"Bellamy…" I said standing up slightly only for him to pull me right back down. "I'm not going to lose you again." He whispered to me as we both looked at the other two.
"Follow me." Bellamy said as he again took my hand in his and began to lead us out towards where the voices where heard. "Stay low and quiet."
Making out way through the trees once again, we came across one of the grounders on a horse with two of our people trailing behind. Ropes attached to their wrists to keep them from running. I moved closer to get a closer look to see that it was Finn and Adams. I turned back to Bellamy who was burning holes in the back of my skull. "Finn." Was all I mouthed to him as he nodded.
"On your feet!" The grounder yelled as Adams fell to the ground and Finn rushed to his side.
I quietly made my way back to Bellamy and the others waiting to hear what we do next. Which is when we all heard Finn shouting out loud causing all our heads to spin in that direction. Only to watch as Tristan the grounder who took Clarke and I slice open Adams neck. I buried my head into Bellamy's chest.
"That's one." Tristan said; "I lost three-hundred."
The grounder began to advance towards Finn with his sword drawn. Looking up at Bellamy I tugged on his arm; "We have to do something." I told him as both of the other two nodded in agreement.
However before Bellamy could respond the grounder surprised us by pulling out a small jug and handing it to Finn. "You're lucky, I need to keep one of you alive to talk to the Commander. Since you all decided to take the one we actually wanted from us and hide her… you will have to do." He spat causing me to begin biting my lip.
Finn was down there in my place for whatever reason, a reason that was still never explained to me. Somehow I'm important to them, Finn was going to die because Bellamy and I ran in the other direction from him. The grounder stood Finn up and began to move again, the four of us following closely behind up in the high ground.
Nova's Point of View
"Good evening; Nova." I heard someone call to me causing me to turn around.
"I would like for you to come with me." The older man asked as he was surrounded by other people, and the young girl Maya.
"Why…" I questioned, knowing full well he was asking me to go with him to show Clarke he means well, that she is safe here, that he can even make us savages… tame.
"I have someone I would like you to meet; a friend." He told me as I stood up looking directly at Maya who looked pretty unconvinced by what was being said as I did.
"Sure thing." I told him with a half smile.
I followed him down a corridor towards the med wing, stopping at the large doors in front of the room where Clarke was probably sitting waiting to hear the good or bad news that awaited her. "Now remember Nova. Be polite, be courteous, and be kind." He told me causing my eye to twitch slightly.
"Yes, Sir." I told him softly looking down at the sneakers they had made me wear.
"Hello Clarke;" The Doctor who entered the room before us greeted her. "How's your arm? Not much of a talker, is she?"
"Skill picked up from the savages, no doubt." He explained as I stood next to Maya by the door.
"He doesn't say it to offend you." She told me.
"That is only because I am his pet." I snarled.
She shrugged; "True." She said softly enough that only I could hear her.
We watched as the man signaled for the two of us to come over to where he was standing. "That's fine, Maya has something to say first anyway."
"You where the next one to be cleared from quarantine, another ten minuets and you would've-" She began to rant as the President cleared his throat. "I'm not pressing charges." She mumbled.
"Thank you Maya, you can get your treatment now." He told her as she backed away giving me an odd look on her way towards the bed.
"Restraints aren't necessary." He told them men as they undid the latches holding her to the bed. "Yes, Mr. President."
Clarke just stared at me intently, probably because I had my tribal tattoos on my arms and neck. She knew exactly what it was that I am. "Dante Wallace." He greeted her holding his hand out.
Which was much different than when he had first met me, he acted like I was some creature from the marshlands. Which in a way I was kind of like that in comparison to their pale bodies. My brother was out there looking for me, and I was stuck in here playing games and acting like a pet dog.
I needed Clarke and her people to get out of here and they would help me. I could tell from the look on her face she, like me didn't trust anything about this place. She would help me leave, and that was all I cared about.
"Oil paint." He said snapped me back into his world. "That's right, you're an artist too." He told her.
Clarke stood up looking over at me, thinking maybe I had said something before looking back at Dante. "Who told you that?" She questioned.
"Your people did, they also said you where their leader. Looks like you and I have a lot in common, kiddo."
"Who is she?" She said pointing at me. "Where's my watch?" She asked.
"I'm sorry we can't let contaminated items inside Mount Weather. We could risk it our protocol is very strict. We prioritize safety over sentimentality." He explained to her before facing me slightly.
"For who this is, this is Nova. Like you she is also fairly new too Mount Weather, we found her in the forest wounded running away from a blast in the middle of the night not to long ago. She chose to come peacefully and joined us here." He continued to explain to her.
His recount of that night was very different from the actual events. Her people blew up a bridge shortly after we where told all the vantage points of their camp and how to get there, who their leader was. Her people nearly killed all of my people, one of my best friends nearly died, probably did die. She was Anya's second, that was an honor.
His people found a few of my people still alive and took us here forcefully, trying to convert us. I was the only one who agreed to be apart of their world. From what Maya told me a while back, anyone who didn't join was used and tested on. Killed for not being good enough science experiments.
"How many of us did you capture?" She asked, well I had to hand it to her at least she knew exactly what was going on here without having to have it explained to her.
"Forty-eight, including you, but Clarke you got it wrong. Your not prisoners, we saved you."
"Well in that case you won't mind if we leave." She spat at him, "If there are forty-eight of us here that means we still have people out there."
"The patrol brought in everyone they could find." – "What about the Ark? It came down last night."
"We saw it there where multiple crash sites, over a hundred square miles. If there were survivors we will bring them in too, you have my word." He explained.
Words, which mean nothing, he told me Anya was here and that I would get to see her however that too was a total and complete lie. I have yet to hear anything about her other than exactly that… 'She's here, and alive.' My people where raised being scared and terrified of these people, there had to be a reason for it.
"I want to see my people." She said finally, "Of course you do." He explained to her. "I would too," He turned slightly and motioned for them to bring forth the cart full of clothing for Clarke.
"Change and meet us in the Hall. Nova you can stay here, come on let's go, let's give Clarke some space." He said as they all left her Maya and I alone in the med wing.
Clarke looked over at me with disgust; "I never touched your people, nor had any intent too. However I do understand why you would hate me once seeing me… merited what I heard happened last night. The commander wont be happy with my people when he finds out what they did to you guys. If that's any consolation to you." I whispered to her so that Maya wouldn't hear.
Still wasn't sure if I could trust her or not.
"Exactly; it's not you I hate. You where locked up here." She spat.
"The heel is the best choice. Next being the pearls…" I said suddenly watching her examine the clothing. She was doing exactly what I did when I first saw all the clothing in the chest. Looked for the best weapon.
"You don't trust them?" She asked quietly.
"Usually when you are saving someone… you ask them if they want or need to be saved. You don't just take them; I was brought up here with five other people. We were all injured at the bridge, if you remember he said I was the only one of my kind here." I told her as I walked away towards the door. Food for thought, all you have to do is plant the seed.
