Nova's Point of View
"Maya." I called to her as she stood there at the end of the hall.
She looked around her before making her way towards me; she looked at me nervously before she finally began to talk. Her tone was hushed, her voice was quiet, and she was standing close to me.
"I didn't mean to lie to them, Nova I swear they where listening to me. Any time I am around them unless it's hidden they… always…it was different with you. He looked at you as if you where a pet him and his son they both—" I held my hand up to cut her off.
"Maya, you are the only friend I have here. I trust you… I saw what they're doing to my people… did you know?" I asked her my hands balling into fists.
She looked to the ground; "I didn't tell you to keep you safe… to protect you. Please Nova, believe me." She pleaded.
"Maya, it's fine. "
"I will do whatever it takes to make it up to you Nova, I swear." She pleaded with me again.
"Then help me get out of here… tonight." I said looking around, "I am going to get as many of my people out of here as I can, and we're going to leave. I can't trust in Clarke to keep my people safe." I told her looking back at her.
"I can get you into medical like you and Clarke did last time, at night when it's lights out we can go with my key card." She explained.
"Great but; I'm going to need you to do something else for me Maya." I told her as my voice grew dark, she looked at me I could tell she was slightly frightened by what I was going to say next.
"Keep these kids safe, whatever it is the good Doctor has planned… it can't be any good… please… just keep them safe." I told her as she nodded, "Meet me back here after lights out." She said with a soft smile.
Later that night I climbed out of the bed, pulling on the pair of faded blue jeans that Maya had brought in for me during the day. Walking over to the dresser they had in here I took out the black tank top sliding it on, pulling it down to cover many of my scars and tattoos.
Sitting back down on the bed I pulled in a pair of grey boots that stopped below my knees at my calves. Grabbing one of the few backpacks in here I began to stuff it full of food I had brought in here from dinner. Standing up I grabbed one of the rugged plaid dress shirts on pulling it on to cover my arms.
Leaving the room and heading out towards the hallway to meet Maya, I felt fear. Not the same kind of fear I felt when I was taken, or the fear when seeing my people strung up like lab rats. However it was fear of being caught. If they found me trying to escape I wouldn't be put in the cages, I wouldn't be put back into the general population. They would do worse tests on me than the ones they where already doing to my people.
"Nova!" I heard someone softly call my name. I turned quickly to see Maya standing a few feet away from me waving me over to her.
"You're going to need medical supplies for the people you get out of here, and before you all leave make sure they all remove the trackers implanted in their arms. There should be some of their clothing in the lower levels, the tunnels… other than that I don't know…" She began to tell me as the two of us got to medical.
"Maya." I told her once she'd opened the door and began to help me find the supplies I would need putting them in the bag for me.
"Yea?" She said softly turning to face me.
"I will be back to liberate my people and shut this place down. Keep in mind, if those kids are not looked after I will be coming back with my army. We will kill anyone who apposes us; make sure you are out of here and somewhere safe. Till you can reseal this building when we leave." I told her.
"I will Nova, I promise… now go… I have to get back." She told me, "Stay safe."
"You too." I told her as I watched the door close behind her.
Crawling back through the air vents I found myself again back in the haunting room full of my people. Most of them looked like they where well on their way to a deathbed, trying to save them would only get us all killed. I began to look through the cages finding a few new and also familiar faces.
"Nova?" I heard a familiar voice.
Moving closer to the cage I saw the face of a few of my old tribes people. "Azrath? Nia? The caught you?" I asked in our language, no need to stress with English when I was around my own people.
"Yes a few others too we arrived yesterday." Azrath explained.
"Get us out of here please." Nia begged as she put her arm through the bar to reach at me.
"Wait here." I told them as I walked towards the one side of the room finding the same object Clarke had used to free Anya, picking it up and bringing it back to the cage. I freed only those who arrived yesterday, no one else was strong enough to even lift their own heads.
"We have to leave, this way." I told them as they followed me towards the same door I watched Clarke lead Anya towards.
However once we entered, the seven of us soon found out this room was a trap. The door behind us closed once we had all entered and there was no other way out until the floor below us opened causing us all to fall through dropping us on the floor.
"No… the tunnels…" Nia began to say her voice hushed and filled with panic and fear.
"Reapers…" another one of them said.
"We stay close together, strength in numbers." Azrath told us. "I know the ways around these tunnels we can get out."
"Wait…" I said walking towards him putting a hand on his shoulder; he turned to face me looking in the eyes. "Have any of you come across Lincoln?"
He turned away from me before turning back urging me to continue walking with him; "Lincoln came to us two days ago, needing medicine to treat a poison wound. In exchange for help he had to stay behind to be punished for his betrayals… Nyko was going to heal the girl he was with Octavia. She nearly killed Nyko too."
I stopped walking, "He was with one of their people this whole time… he never went looking for me?" I asked as the anger began to boil up in my chest.
"Anya had sent out patrols looking for you and the others who where at the bridge that day, Triss died the morning after… their healer refused to help us save her … if it wasn't for that girl… Lincoln would still be in the village, our people wouldn't be here… the woman she said some of our people would be in a program called Cerberus." He finished explaining causing my anger to continue to rise in my chest.
"Triss is dead…" I said softly, the fact that Anya had been looking for me as great as it was didn't make up for the fact that my own brother had not.
The same girl he was so focused on, rather than looking for me. The same girl who nearly killed of Lincoln's oldest friends that he'd grown up with. She was the reason I was here; if it wasn't for her or her people I would be safe. Would still have my brother, be with Anya and Triss would still be alive.
"Lincoln's gone then…" I continued. He just nodded; "He was brought here with us, however he wasn't put into the cages with us, and wasn't injected like the others into the Cerberus program she talked about. They took him somewhere…"
"Let's get going alright Nova? We will get your brother back and stop this program." He told me as we all continued to walk through the tunnels before reaching the end of one of them.
We stood there at the opening of the tunnel staring out of the forest before us, with rushing water below us, and the night sky above us. I kept gazing out at the stars staring at the moon. "What's the plan when we get down?" He asked, "You know for rescuing us they will let you come home."
I took in a deep breath; I had promised Clarke to watch over her people. How could I when mine where finally letting me come back with them, giving me a place where I belong? I looked up at him and smiled; "We go home when we get down. I will seek an audience with the Commander and tell him what's going on here… my days as a warrior are done."
"Indra can take care of it from there let's just get home." He told me as one by one we jumped over the edge and into the waterbed below.
Rayne's Point of View
Mel had been using Bellamy and I for support through the woods, he'd at some point given her his jacket. I felt her shivering in my arms, "Still cold?"
She shook her head to say no, "No… I'm just still… Sterling." She began to mutter before she started to break out into sobs once again.
"Hey, hey I got it…" Octavia said rushing over to me taking Mel away from me.
Feeling his hands creep onto my shoulders before moving down the length of my body to my hips before pulling me close into a hug. I could feel his head rest in the crook of my neck, "You're doing great with her, Ray… this isn't easy on any of us." He told me.
"This is worse for her, Bells..." I told him turning around to look at him.
"Sterling died, trying to save her. She had to watch him as he fell all the way to the ground. She watched him die. Bellamy I don't know what I would do if I had to watch you die. Knowing it was my fault that you where dying…"
He put his hands on my shoulders pulling me closer to him so that his face was only inches from mine. "Ray, don't talk like that."
"Bellamy, I don't know how to act with her. I am trying so hard to be here for her but I have no idea what to do, or say to her."
"What you are doing is enough, Ray all we can do for her is show her that we're here for her." He told me. "Now come on, we should set up camp here. Sleep for a bit then get going back towards the camp… Finn and Murphy are still out there and they will need us." I nodded before heading over to one of the near by logs helping Monroe sit down on the ground.
"How much longer do you think it'll be?" Monroe asked Octavia as she and Mel sat down near us.
"The poison?" She responded, Monroe only nodded her head. "You should be fine, we're almost back at the camp. Right Ray?"
I nodded, "Just over that ridge there."
"Thank god." Monroe laughed softly.
"Jaha didn't make it." Mel piped up, her mouse like voice, "Who is the Chancellor now?"
"My dad…" I told her slowly. "Kane, Kane is the Chancellor now."
The girl went silent looking up at me before shaking her head; "Oh, that should be good down here. He was always more interested in the safety of others versus anything else."
I nodded; she and I both knew the Kane on the Ark was not a selfless man. He was more interested in becoming the leader of our people than anything else. When Abbey had told us about all the things that had been going on up on the Ark, I don't know. I guess he became a different person when my grandmother died.
It was so weird to call her my grandmother when I grew up knowing her as Kane's mother, the über religious woman who gave her water to a plant. Kane I grew up being told to fear him and always stay away from him and be under his radar. Never once did I ever think I would be related to either of them.
"Hey, you look deep in thought." Bellamy said as he sat down next to me.
"Yea, no I'm just thinking about where our friends are. I couldn't imagine the hell they are going through. I can only trust that Clarke if she's still alive… is fighting her to keep them all safe."
"Of course she is, it's Clarke." He chuckled. "Biggest pain in the ass I know next to you, and Octavia."
"I heard that." She snapped smirking at the two of us.
"Bells I was horrible to her the weeks coming up to that night." I explained leaning my head against his shoulder.
"We were all terrible to each other Ray, so you and Clarke had a spat. Look at what we were all going through, of course we were all going to fight eventually." He told me before moving away from me so that he was now kneeling in front of me.
"You two fought, but at least you guys talked to each other even if it was to say horrible things to one another. You continuing the communication because even if you two where mad at one another even if for stupid reasons." He said with a chuckle, "At least you two knew you cared enough about each other as friends to not walk away."
I smiled at him, "The second we find them, I'm going to give that girl the biggest hug possible."
"We both are." He told me with a grin, "Now get some rest, we wont have much once we drop these two off. We have to get going the moment we get back to the camp." He said as I agreed with him once again before lying down and falling asleep.
I could feel someone nudge my shoulder only to look up and see that Mel was standing over me with a smile. "We're ready to go now." She told me as I nodded before getting up off the ground.
"Where's—" Mel cut me off.
"He's over there waiting for you." She grinned, "I always thought one day Sterling and I would end up like you two are." She said before looking away.
"I think had things turned out differently that would have defiantly been an outcome Mel." I told her as she gave me a soft smile before walking away towards Monroe and Octavia.
"Ready to go?" I asked him as I slowly began to approach him.
"Yep, ready to see your father again?" He chuckled.
"Can't actually say that I am." I told him as he laughed again before motioning to the other three that we were moving out and heading back towards the camp.
It hadn't taken to long to get back to the camp; it wasn't exactly hard to miss either. Massive fences surrounding the entire camp now armed guards everywhere. As we walked closer towards the camp some guards stopped us making sure we were guided into the camp with ease. Mainly they wanted to make sure that were weren't grounders in disguise. Sadly I don't think there were any grounders out there smart enough to do such a thing.
"Open the gates!" one of the guards yelled as Bellamy walked Mel into the camp in front of Octavia Monroe and I.
They took our weapons as we entered the camp, I guess the rule they wanted to implement was passed while we where gone. I could only hope none of us where going to get into any trouble for have been out in the woods. There was no telling with my dad being in charge, speaking of which he was nowhere to be found. That was until Abbey walked up to us with the Chancellors pin on her shirt that it sunk in that he wasn't here.
"I know you." Abbey said to Mel as I stepped forward standing next to Bellamy. "Factory Station. Where are the others?" She asked Bellamy.
"There are no others." Mel stammered out.
"Found her a day from here. No survivors. Lots of supplies." Bellamy explained.
"Get her to medical." Abbey said to one of the guards beside us.
"Monroe too." I piped up as Abbey looked over at me.
Octavia moved so that she was now standing on the other side of me till I felt someone attach themselves to me wrapping their arms around me. Not completely around me as I could tell whomever it was had pulled both Bellamy and I into this embrace. I looked to the person as they moved a small bit away from us.
"Clarke?" I asked as she moved away from me to give Bellamy a hug, "Now, there's something I thought I'd never see." Octavia smirked as Clarke moved away from Bellamy to pull me back into a hug.
"I've missed you." She managed to whisper into my ear.
Moving away from me she moved on to give Octavia a hug as well, Bellamy took this time to drape his arm around my shoulder, "Guess we found her." He whispered to me.
