Rayne's Point of View
We took Lincoln's unconscious body back towards the drop ship, the whole trek back here filled with silence. With Bellamy trying to find a way to keep him held down, Octavia trying to keep herself together. I moved closer to Octavia rubbing her arm. "We'll figure this out, you know we wont give up on him." I promised her.
Once we reached the drop the three of us hauled Lincoln's body up the ladder, with no ease what so ever. Once we got him up Bellamy quickly chained his legs and arms up. This brought back some pretty horrible memories. Looking over at Lincoln just suspended before us unconscious. I looked over at Octavia who was just collapsed on her knees in front of Lincoln. Softly sobbing to herself looking up at him.
"I can't believe we're back here." Octavia sobbed. "Yea, this is way to familiar." I agreed with her.
I turned to look at Bellamy hoping he had something he could say to her. However he was moving to leave the drop ship, I grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back. "You're leaving?" I asked my voice filled with shock.
"I have to go get Clarke, she will know what to do." He explained.
I rolled my eyes; "Clarke can't fix everything, she isn't the answer to everything Bells. We need Abby, Abby will know what to do." I told him as he nodded.
"I know, I know it's just this place… the last time things were like this…" he started to say.
"I know babe, last time it was Clarke but right now we need Abby, Clarke should be getting us into the mountain… she's the only one that knows how to get in there."
"Look; I'm going to go get Clarke. They should be back at Camp Jaha by now. I'll see if she can come convince her mom to help Lincoln. It's the best shot we have at helping O' you'll stay here and protect her?" He asked.
"Of course I will," I explained with a soft smile. He then passed me the pistol, "Just in case." He told me with a nod before leaving.
I turned back around where Octavia was sitting on the ground not to far away from her. "Do you think Lincoln will be ok?" She asked me.
"Yes, he will be. We just need to figure out what is making him this way." I told her.
"What made him a Reaper?" She asked again turning to face me, her eyes red and puffy from crying.
"O' we will figure this out, no one is going to give up on Lincoln." I told her.
"And I appreciate it, Ray… I really do."
The two of us sat there in silence looking over at Lincoln as he just hung there in his restraints, his head hanging downwards. That was until he began to shake lightly. He lifted his head and began to growl and shout at us as Octavia shifted backwards towards me.
"Rayne what do we do?" She asked, "Stay back here until Bellamy gets back?" I said questioningly as she looked at me with a slight bit of fear drawn onto her face.
"Well hopefully that's soon." She said as Lincoln began to thrash around in place trying to get at us most likely to hurt us, or worse kill us.
After a while of waiting for Bellamy to return with Clarke and or Abby, Lincoln seemed to settle down or pass out. Either way he had started to move a whole lot less than he was before. The door that Bellamy had left through soon started to open as Clarke appeared through it with a med kit.
She looked over at Octavia and I whom where sitting off to the side as far from Lincoln as we could get within this confined space. That was when the grounder leapt to life and lunged forward trying to attack Clarke. Apparently the noise of them opening the door woke him up again.
A now startled Clarke stood there staring at him, much like she had the very first time we had encountered Lincoln the first time he was chained up in our dropship. With fear and sadness drenching her face, fear of what he was capable of and sadness because of what was happening to him.
I could say that because it is exactly how I felt at this point with Lincoln also. Killing him wouldn't solve anything either it would devastate Octavia. It would make matters worse between the majority of us and the grounders if they came across his body in the woods.
"It's ok." Bellamy attempted to reassure Clarke as he to climbed up the ladder, making his way over to Octavia and I.
"When did he wake up?" He asked me as Octavia's head was once again facing her feet.
"Not more then ten minuets after you left to get Clarke. Did you talk to Abby?" I asked.
"She made a speech about how we may stay and save our friends, but we might also take off into the desert to avoid the grounders retaliating for the massacre at the village." Clarke explained for him.
"Great… how long do we have?" I asked her.
"Till the morning, if they hold off that long." She told me softly.
"Shit." I mumbled.
"He's been restrained." Bellamy said again causing me to look over at Clarke whom was still very clearly terrified of the Grounder-Reaper before her.
"I can't believe we're back here again." She said as she moved closer to me.
"We said the exact same thing." I told her as Octavia nodded with me.
"Can you help him?" Octavia asked bitterly from the corner she was now sitting in.
Lincoln continued to growl, roar and scream in agony as he fought against his restraints in an attempt to get free. "I don't know." Clarke answered.
She slowly began to move towards Lincoln looking him over trying to figure out what was going on with him. "I knew Mount Weather controlled the Reapers, I had no idea they were creating them."
"If they can do that to Lincoln, what are they doing to our friends?" Bellamy asked her as he put his hand out for me to grab.
Once I stood up I moved so that I was between him and Clarke as the two of them where looking Lincoln over. Octavia soon joined me next to Bellamy and Clarke. "Here shine the light over him maybe I can see something with better light." She suggested.
"Ray did you notice anything on him before?" She asked me.
"No, he was covered in dirt and blood. Octavia did her best to remove it all when we first got him to the drop ship. I mean I noticed some things but I couldn't be sure of what they where." I told her.
"Like what?" Clarke asked as she spun around to look at me.
"His neck, he had scaring on his neck. Like needle marks except there was some sort of wider circles around each of the wounds… a ring around the area of the puncture site."
Clarke arched her brow, "Like the type of needles used had some sort of device holding it, something more high tech then a regular syringe?" She asked, as I just nodded. "Yea… I guess so."
"That's really bizarre." Clarke commented.
"I thought so too." I said as Lincoln began to convulse in place his arms letting up most of his strength he was using to pull on his chains. His head was dropped down again.
I was right about him being injected with something but what? I had no idea. Clearly the people in Mount Weather had a great advancement in medical and practical sciences. They created the acid fog to keep anyone from getting too close, created reapers, who knew what else they had done.
"He's convulsing." Clarke commented snapping me from my thoughts.
"So, what does it mean?" Octavia asked.
Clarke began to look his whole body over, probably noticing the wound on his leg I had tried to patch up. However having no medical supplies on me since they had been confiscated when the adults landed. I had to use what we could find left over in the drop ship which was practically nothing.
"What happened to his leg?" Clarke asked as Octavia looked over at me, I nodded at her softly.
"I shot him." She said swallowing hard.
"Clarke, he's lost a lot of blood. Rayne did the best she could with what was left in the drop ship." Bellamy began to explain to her.
She nodded moving back to look Lincoln over again, probably looking for the puncture marks I had told her about. He lunged at her again scaring her slightly, "Can you shine the light on his neck, where Rayne was talking about?" She asked Octavia.
Moving the flash light so that it was lighting up the one side of his neck Octavia let out a heavy sigh. "It's gonna be fine." I whispered to her.
"Needle marks. Just like you said you saw." She said as the three of us turned to look at Clarke.
"What do you think there from?" I asked her. "You think he's been drugged?" Bellamy asked shortly after me.
"Maybe." She said as a loud snapping noise bounced off the walls.
Clarke turned around first trying to hold Lincoln back as he had ripped one of his restraints clean off the wall. "Lincoln!" Octavia screamed at him rushing forward.
Lincoln pushed Octavia off him throwing her across the room and against a wall. Bellamy rushed towards Lincoln to subdue him as I quickly made my way over to Octavia to make sure that she was ok.
"You ok?" I asked her as I helped her sit up.
"Sore, Ray… he's not ok is he?" She whispered to me, I turned back to watch the two of them struggle with Lincoln. "Honestly, no he isn't."
That was when Lincoln threw both Clarke and Bellamy to the ground as well. "Bellamy!" I cried out tripping Lincoln to the ground moving towards Bellamy as he reached for his gun.
Clarke, Bellamy, and I all stood up looking around for something, anything to knock Lincoln out so that we could restrain him again till we could help him. Clarke stood there in fear not able to move as Lincoln's growls and snarls became louder and louder.
Bellamy finally got to the electric rod picking it up off the ground and pulling me so that I was behind him. He rushed towards Lincoln with the rod attempting to hit him with it when Lincoln picked him up off the ground and slammed Bellamy onto the floor. Lincoln began to feed Bellamy blow after blow to the face as Clarke turned to me. She now saw that I myself was frozen in fear.
Helpless to save the only person I ever loved from being beaten to death by his sisters, possessed grounder boyfriend. Why didn't I just pick up my pistol and end Lincoln's life. I knew it would make Octavia hate me but it was better than never being able to touch Bellamy again, or kiss him. The torture that would be was a far worse outcome than having Octavia hate me till she eventually moved on.
"Ray?" I heard Clarke say as I realized I was in fact holding the gun out readying myself to kill Lincoln.
Clarke moved closer to Lincoln to stop him when he pushed her away again throwing her to the ground. Octavia moved closer hitting Lincoln in the side of the head with a huge metal pipe knocking him out. As his body hit the ground I dropped the gun and rushed to Bellamy's aid.
"We have to do something." Octaiva said as she moved to Lincoln's side trying to comfort his unconscious body. Soon enough Bellamy, Clarke and I had Lincoln chained to the ground so that it was even less than likely of his next escape attempt.
"We have to stop the bleeding and get the bullet out." Clarke told us.
"It's why I came and got you." Bellamy growled at her as he rubbed his head.
"Hold his leg down." Clarke said ignoring Bellamy as he and I did as she asked.
Octavia continued her attempt in comforting Lincoln even thought the rest of us were clearly thinking it, he was gone. There was no more Lincoln in there and if there was would he want to come back knowing the things he had done?
Lincoln continued to growl and scream at Octavia as he spilt water all over her. The three of us turned to look at her, "I'll get some more." She explained as she stood up and made her way to the exit.
"Please don't be gone long…" I half begged her as she smiled at me nodding, "I wont."
"O' once the drug is out of his system, he'll be ok." Bellamy said to her as walked over to her before she could leave.
"You two can't protect me from this one, big brother." She told him as she nodded her head towards me, clearly meaning he and I where the two she was referring before she left the drop ship.
"We shouldn't have just let her leave like that." I told Bellamy as the two of us rejoined Clarke on ground.
"She'll be fine." Clarke commented, as Lincoln continued to scream and howl at us.
Once Clarke had removed the bullet from Lincoln's leg she had splint the leg to keep it in place and wrapped the wound up properly. "Thank you, Clarke. Abby would be proud of you." I commented.
She looked up at me, "You would have done the same thing for me if this were—" Clarke paused; I could see it in her face she wanted to name Finn.
Even though he cost us the alliance with the grounders she still loved him. We had all done things we were ashamed of since coming down here. I know I certainly had, fighting with Clarke the way I did all those times was one of them. This was Finn's thing to be ashamed of. We would just have to find another way to bring peace between the grounders and us.
"She's right, your mom would be proud." Bellamy added.
"My mom would know how to save him." Clarke said her voice filled with defeat. She stood up moving away from us to go looking in her med kit for anything of use as Bellamy took me away from Lincoln and over to one of the seats, about to sit down Octavia returned from getting more water.
One of the grounders from the village followed her up the ladder Bellamy quickly rushing to pick up his gun and aim it at the man. "No Bells!" I cried out jolting up from my seat.
"Bellamy, Don't." Octavia demanded as she stood between Bellamy's gun and the grounder.
"He's Lincoln's friend and their healer." She explained.
"Does he know where Nova is?" Clarke asked as she looked to him, "She's with the Commander, she's her new second. Training along side the Commander so that she can one day take her place when the calling takes place." He explained.
I looked over at Bellamy whose eyes where on me; I had no idea what any of that meant. However considering what Clarke's grounder friend had witnessed Finn do to that village I couldn't imagine she was saying anything nice about us. Let alone something that would strike the thought of peace into the Commander's mind.
Lincoln soon began to grunt again and shake on the ground. "He's seizing again Clarke." I called out to her as she stood up from her place on the ground and rushed over to him with me. The grounder Octavia had brought in with her was soon also by our side looking over Lincoln as if he knew what to do.
Octavia was next to join us at Lincoln's side, feeling like I was crowding the situation I stood up and moved. Now standing next to Bellamy watching the three of them. The grounder took out a box willed with little vials, looking through them till he landed on one filled with some sort of liquid.
I looked over at Clarke whose eyes where glued to the vials. Something wasn't right here; if they grounders didn't know that their people were being made into Reapers. Than how did he manage to have something to fix what the mountain men where doing to them? Suspicion filled my entire body.
"What is that?" Clarke asked him.
The grounder said something, and that's when it looked like a light went off in Clarke's eyes. As if she had heard that phrase he said before tonight. He moved the vial over Lincoln's mouth and moved to pour a drop into his mouth. When Clarke's hand shot out of the dark and caught the droplet on her hand. "Wait!" She shouted as the grounder shifted backwards quickly.
"Back off. Right now." Bellamy said aiming his gun directly at the grounder.
"Yu gonplei ste odon." Clarke said softly before looking up at me. "I've heard that before." She commented, Clarke knew I was always with my nose stuffed in a book. She knew, I knew the phrase she just spoke.
"It's what they say before death." I explained to them as Clarke's eyes narrowed on the grounder. "Your fight is over." I told her.
"He's not trying to heal him. He's trying to kill him." Clarke told us as I looked over at Octavia whose face seemed to have gone completely white.
"Nyko? Is it true?" Octavia asked him as Bellamy moved me more behind him. Knowing full well I would jump in front of the gun to defuse the situation.
"Yes. Death is the only way." He told her, "Hold on. There could be a way to bring him back." Clarke told him as she looked over to me.
"None that I've ever seen." Nyko insisted.
"We have to go. The camp's leaving." I heard Finn's voice travel up the ladder.
Finn in the same cramped space as a rabid Lincoln, and a very pissed off grounder of which Finn killed the only son of. Oh this seemed like a great situation for Octavia, Clarke, Bellamy and I to be trapped in between.
