Rayne's Point of View
"You!" Nyko shouted the instant he was able to see Finn come up from the ladder.
"We have to stop—" Finn started to say as Nyko ran at him screaming something I couldn't understand.
Shoving Finn harshly against the wall knocking his head back against the steel. Octavia and I where as still as stone statues not knowing what to do, Clarke attempted to get closer to Finn in order to help him. Bellamy held his rifle up demanding that the grounder let Finn go.
"You slaughtered my people." Nyko spat out at Finn. "Elders. Children. Innocents."
"Nyko, you're killing him." Octavia spoke up trying to reason with the man.
As much as I wanted to say something in Finn's favor, the grounder had every reason to want to kill Finn. He killed so many people; men, woman and children who had done nothing wrong. People who where doing exactly what it was we where asking from the Commander to let us do. Live our lives out quietly and peacefully.
I wanted so badly to tell Nyko to stop and put him down, but I knew one of the children that Finn had killed was Nyko's son. Octavia had told Bellamy and I all about it on the way back to the camp after the massacre. I knew there was nothing any of us including Finn could say would ever make that wrong right again in Nyko's mind.
"Blood must have blood!" Nyko began to shout.
"Get out of the way!" Bellamy shouted snapping me back into reality, I noticed Octavia was no longer at my side but she was next to Finn and Nyko trying to reason with the grounder.
"Bellamy, you're not shooting him! No!" Octavia screamed at her brother.
Finn was looking rough, his eyes beginning to roll backwards. I looked over at Clarke whom was searching for something to subdue Nyko with. Had it really gotten to this point? Where things really this bad that I had been blinded to it? I knew what Finn did cause the grounders a great deal of pain and sorrow, but were our people so ignorant to what we had caused them.
By not giving them Finn the day the attack happened we were basically telling the grounders the death of their innocents meant nothing to us. We were allowing Finn to live his life, as if he had done absolutely nothing wrong in our eyes. I knew Finn felt terrible grief for what he had done, regretted it every second of the day. They however didn't know that.
Nyko continued his attempt at choking the life from Finn when I nodded my head towards Bellamy's pack, Clarke looked at me confused before she had realized what it was I was nudging her towards. She rushed over picking up the baton and walked towards Nyko sticking the electric rod against his back causing him to release Finn and collapse to the ground in pain.
She turned off the rod, looking over at me nodding. She was glad that I had shown her what to do. I would never return her gratitude; as much as she loved Finn I could never forgive him for what he had done to that village. He killed all those people to find Clarke, not the forty-seven… just her.
I turned my attention to a now silent Octavia whose eyes where firmly planted on Lincoln's body. He wasn't moving at all; his chest was barely rising and falling with his breaths as if he was on his last few. "Lincoln." She said softly as she rushed back over to his side.
"Ray, he's not breathing." She explained to me as I knelt down on the other side of his head and looked up at her as I placed my fingers against his neck only to feel Clarke push my hand away from Lincoln to do the same.
Why was she becoming so desperate to show the grounders that we weren't all bad? Why did it seem as if lately she was back to the way she was when we where fighting. Had what Finn done made her snap? Clarke was right back to her ways of thinking she was in charge of everything. I looked over at Bellamy who just mouthed for me to take a deep breath. Nodding at him I sighed standing up and moving over to where he stood.
"His heart's stopped. Move." She told Octavia.
Octavia looked up at me her expression slightly confused as to why I had moved and hurt that once again. Clarke had to assert herself as the person in charge of the group. Why she always felt like she had something to prove was way beyond me. I wish more and more wished Bellamy and I had just left with Lincoln and Octavia when he had offered it to us that night.
Clarke had started a round on Lincoln, chest compressions to get him going once again. Bellamy lowered his gun slightly looking over at me, "She's just scared Ray."
I scoffed quietly; "No she's back to her old ways… she needs to stop thinking she is her mother, the chancellor. She's just a kid." I told him as he nodded. "I know, I'm trying here…" he smirked.
"I know, I'm sorry. It's just frustrating, Bells." I told him as he took his one arm and pulled me closer. "We'll talk about this later. I promise." He told me as he kissed my head.
Bellamy and I moved away from each other the moment we heard Lincoln inhale loudly. Our heads turning directly towards him watching as Octavia moved to grab the container of water, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. I had to admit, I was glad Clarke took over. I did not want to have to explain to Nyko what she just did.
"He was dead." The very confused commented staring over at Lincoln's body. "How did you do that?" He asked Clarke as she looked over at me, nodding at her I smiled to her and mouthed to her that this was all her.
She smirked at me slightly rolling her eyes playfully, "You've tried bringing reapers back before?" She asked him turning her attention back onto Nyko. He seemed to nod slightly at her, "And they died like this?" She asked again.
"What is it?" Bellamy asked Clarke as she looked over at me in silence.
"I know how to stop the attack." Clarke commented.
"She just found leverage." I explained to a confused Bellamy.
Clarke moved so that she went down the ladder to go meet with the very shaken up Finn who'd left after Nyko attacked him. The two of them where supposed to go get Abby so we could maybe stop the impending grounder attack. I sat down on the other side of the room, Bellamy at my side.
"About earlier." I started to say, Bellamy hushed me softly.
"Ray, we all get confused. I'd be lying if there weren't times I felt exactly like you where, when it came to Finn, Murphy, and Clarke; hell even you at times. We all get frustrated… we just have to learn to keep our cool."
"I know, it's just sometimes you know I want to be the one who saves the day. Does something extraordinary, or memorable you know. Jealously is a terrible color on me I know." I chuckled softly.
"Hey, don't think like that. You do many amazing things everyday, I mean you're great with O, and you keep me pretty sane are an asset to the camp. Clarke would be lost without you just like I would be." He told me.
"It's true, if you weren't around I think Bellamy might have done something pretty damn horrible by now." Octavia piped up from next to Lincoln causing me to crack a smile.
"Thanks O'. Sorry for getting a bit on the wacky side then." I told him.
"I think after everything that's happened we're all entitled to at least one moment." Octavia said, "I mean moment of jealousy not pure rage." She added in, most likely referring to Finn whom she most obviously hated at this point.
Nova's Point of View
I stood there on the one side of Lexa, still wearing the clothing I had found before leaving Mount Weather, the same clothing that Maya had given me. Lexa had asked one of the other women to make me feel more at home by adding braids in my hair which was accustom of our people, mainly the women. I looked to the right of me to see a more than angry looking Indra.
We were told the sky people were sending someone to negotiate with us, 'Clarke of the Sky people' to be more exact. One of the many sky people I was learning from my peers was nothing but trouble. I looked back to the front waiting for Clarke to show up so she could attempt the peace talk.
"Clarke was the one who left with Anya?" I heard Lexa ask me.
"She was, Anya told me not to trust her. I guess there was more than the simple meaning behind it."
Lexa nodded; "You believe she said it hoping you would try to escape with more people?" She asked me.
"I believe Anya wanted me to get as many of our people of out there as I could regardless of Clarke's intentions. Her friend Finn may have killed Indra's entire village, and they may have asked for war with us now three times. First with Anya, than Tristan now with you… I do believe Clarke only seeks peace between us and them." I told her.
"You think her wishes like Marcus's are true? A wish for peace?" She asked.
"The last time I saw my brother before the attack on the bridge; he told Anya that Clarke wanted a meeting with her to broker a peace bargain between their people and ours. Sure enough we meet her on the Mountain and she speaks of peace, mixed with the threat of war and death." I told her, as she nodded. "Continued." She asked me.
"When the Mountain men took me hostage I found those people to be nothing but liars, just like that man Thelonious. Speaking of peace and safety through a vale of lies and deceit. Along came Clarke and her young friends, she again tells me of her plans for peace and her sorrow for the attacks. Yes, I do believe her intentions for peace to be true." I told her.
"However, I do not believe she will be willing to pay the price for the peace between our people." I told her. "Blood must have blood. That is the way of our people, and if they wish there to be peace between us, they must obey that, Lexa." I told her.
She nodded in agreement with me, "Then when they offer us something I like, we will tell her exactly that. Blood must have blood, and we must have Finn to pay that price. Or else we will not have peace with the sky people, and they will all die." She told me as she looked forward.
"When she gets here send her in." She ordered Gustus as he nodded leaving the tent.
Clarke soon enough slowly walked into the tent, Gustus not to far behind her. She had he head held high with the air of confidence surrounding her, however the fear in her eyes was giving away her real demeanor. She had her eyes on me before I motioned with my head for her to look at Lexa.
Clarke then focused her attention on Lexa whom was sitting in her throne twirling the ceremonial dagger in her hands with hopes to intimidate the young girl. Needless to say from the look in Clarke's eyes, our appearances alone were doing that just fine.
"You're the one who burned 300 of my warriors alive." Lexa asked her with no expression lingering in her voice.
"You're the one who sent them there to kill us." Clarke stupidly answered her.
Lexa settled the blade onto the armrest on the throne looking straight up at Clarke. "Do you have an answer for me, Clarke of the Sky people?" Lexa smirked.
"I've come to make you an offer." Clarke responded as Lexa looked over at me, I did tell her Clarke was one for making offers and deals she clearly could not keep.
"This is not a negotiation." Lexa explained to her as she looked away from me and back over to Clarke.
"Let me kill her and get this over with." Indra said in our native tongue Trigedasleng. Lexa raised her hand to silence Indra, whom I had known wanted as many of the Sky People dead at her hand as she could get.
"I can help you beat the Mountain men." Clarke offered as I scoffed.
"You promised that to one of my people before, had she listened to you instead of Anya she would be dead in the Mountain just like your own people." Lexa said as she put the blade back onto her lap caressing it with ease, "Go on." She said again softly.
"Hundreds of your people are trapped inside Mount Weather. Kept in cages. Their blood is used as medicine."
"How do you know this?" Lexa asked her.
"Because I saw them, so did Nova." Clarke told her as Lexa looked at me. "My people are prisoners there, too. I was one of them, just like Nova was."
"We can protect our own, she just wants us to spare them. Use us to save their people." Indra responded in our language.
"I told you about this back at the camp, I didn't realize our blood was their medicine." I told Lexa as she nodded, looking back at Clarke.
"Lies. No one escapes the Mountain." Indra said.
"I did. With Anya, and clearly so did Nova." Clarke said.
"Nova is resilient." Indra said causing me to smirk slightly, considering I knew Indra hated both my brother and I.
"Anya and I fought our way out together." Clarke continued.
"Another lie. Anya died in the fire. You killed her." Indra said as Clarke looked away defeated.
I looked over at Indra, "No she didn't she was in the Mountain I saw her." I explained standing up for Clarke.
I looked over to Clarke watching as she put her hand into her pocket starting to pull something out. Gustus moved to grab one of his daggers, same with the other guard and Indra. "Don't." I said softly as Lexa looked at me for a moment.
Clarke stood there holding a piece of Anya's braid. "She told me you were her second. I'm sure she'd want you to have this." She told us.
Anya was dead; I suppose apart of me always knew Anya was dead. The manner of her death was probably less than admirable. Did she die trying to get back to the people in the Mountain? Trying to reach Lexa? Or did Clarke's people once again have a hand in senselessly killing one of our people?
Clarke handed Lexa the braid, as I'm sure everyone felt their hearts sink into their stomachs at the thought of one of our greatest warriors being dead. "We don't know it's hers." Indra said through her teeth.
"Quiet Indra." Lexa said under her breath again in our own words.
"Anya was my mentor, before I was called to lead my people and she took care of this one for me when I asked her too." She said looking over at me, "Anya was a dear friend, did she die well?" Lexa asked her.
I wasn't aware Lexa had asked Anya to look out for me, I always thought Anya welcomed Lincoln and I into her army on her own will. Knowing she had motives only to please the commander only slightly weighed down the sincerity of anything she'd ever said to me. She had always treated me like I was her little sister, much like Lexa always did too.
"Yes. By my side, trying to get a message to you." Clarke told her.
"What message?" Lexa said coldly.
"The only way to save both our people is if we join together." Clarke told her as she looked over at me before turning her attention back to Lexa.
"Those who are about to die will say anything." Indra told Lexa.
"I'm still waiting for an offer, Clarke." Lexa spat out at her, before looking over at me letting me know what was about to take place would most likely be decided by my reaction to Clarke's offer. I wasn't ready for that kind of decision.
