Chapter 57: The Spirit of the Wind
Hey everyone, DAMN it's been a long time! Well, besides taking care of my family, I've been working on a new project. But wait, this one is different! I actually decided to publish this one! If you haven't seen it yet, it's called The Rabbit and The Puppy (Shameless plug...). I noticed a copious lack of Hiiragincest stories, with FarnesyFudge and WingsofSeyfert12 being really the only other people to have anything of any length on the site, and Farnesy is more with the amount of stories he puts out (not taking away from it, his stories are awesome and ALWAYS make me smile), so if you're interested in something like that, check it out! I've got a few chapters out and I'm pretty proud of it.
Z-kun! Don't worry, at least no permanent damage was done, it just takes a while to recover from that. Hence why it took SO FREAKING LONG to get this out. It ticked me off because I had, like, 7-8k words within a couple days after the last chapter came out. Then I got busy again. Well, not much you can do about it. I'm glad you're still reading!
Gigarot, Miyuki's skills are more of the mind than of the body. Now if that can be applied to the body, that's a whole other discussion itself. And yes! A lot CAN happen? Will it? DUN DUN DUN!
Guest! Thanks for the idea, I think I'm gonna make it a running thing with Luckier Star Kai at the beginning of the chapter. And yes, there was ANOTHER Hiiragincest plug in the beginning of this chapter. Except that it's mine this time!
True Kimochi, glad you're liking it! Sorry I killed you, murder was not my intention.
NoMutant... I can tell this response might be a bit long... Misao is gonna be in my story on a... uh.. basis that I have no idea about. I feel bad for Miyuki too. I just completely forget about her. I'll try better later. As far as the main plot is concerned... Well, I'd say I've got about 90% of it figured out and timed. The only thing is that this is still a Lucky Star story. It feels very weird and almost inappropriate to have multiple plot chapters in a row with little fluff or slice of life stuff. So plot stuff I have planned is easy to write out. Like I said earlier, I had around 7-8k words of this done within days of the last chapter because I had been planning this for a while. See, the tricky thing is coming up with enough stuff to fill that gap between major plot points. Now, the easiest way to deal with that is time skips. I understand the need for them, filling two months of events without boring readers is a difficult thing to do. I've never used them because I never really liked them. Besides, I can't imagine how to use them well. It's the same reason I barely used some of the character from the source work. The same reason I think Hiyori might have had one appearance in the first chapter and then was never seen again. Oh wait, no. She was in the mall that one time they went to the mall. OTHER THAN THAT, she's been practically nonexistent. I can always try, but I don't know. If people are okay with skipping to plot points, I guess I'd consider it. Although, there's little bits of plot in each chapter, I suppose. As far as non-major plot point chapters, I mainly write it as I go. Same with all of my responses to reviews, if you can't tell by my rambling, incoherent prattling. So plot points, I know what's happening and how to write it. To tell the truth, I'm always working on this story. Maybe not on the current chapter, but I'm always opening my "Future Events" file and working on something in there. Yes, I have a Future Events file. It's absolutely massive. It's where a lot of future plot points are written and planned. In fact, I have an entire chapter written for later. I just have to get to it. As for the fetishes, well, I don't understand some myself. As for the KagamiXTsukasa story, well... I suppose that's a work in progress now, isn't it? As for Adult Content, I'm not good at it. Like, THE WORST. See, in everything I write, there are references. References and jokes. I've tried to write independent lemons before, but I found it either dull or WAY too funny to be of any... use. Of course, I don't know if lemons that someone writes can really work for that particular person. I dunno. If people request it, I guess I can try independent ones. But for this story, I don't really know. And for the size of TRTP, you said something about the Hobbit being of sufficient length. Well... The Hobbit is just over 95K words. I think I can manage that. Might pass it. Might not. Dunno, it depends on how long it turns out.
Jesus that turned into a long one. Thanks for the huge review! Hope my answer was satisfactory!
Sqweebs, I LIVE for bringing up evil memories. Can't promise I won't do it multiple times again.
Dave, I hope you keep reading! I'm glad that you're liking my TRTP!
Well that turned out long. Sorry for keeping you guys up. I still find it funny that I finished five chapters of TRTP before I got this one out.

"I'm making stuff!" Tony said.
"You're stuff is bad and you should feel bad." Masuta said.
"Now I feel bad." Tony said.
"You should be." Masuta said.
"I'm here and I'm helping!" Miyuki said. "Let us help!" Miyuki said.
"Alright, help!" Tony said.
"Cuddle~!" Tsukasa chimed.
"Cuddle!" Tony jumped over.
"I'm making stuff!" Masuta said.
"They're sick." Miyuki said.
"He's never been sick." Masuta said.
"Never ever?" Miyuki asked.
"Never ever ever!" Masuta said.
"Never ever ever ever ever for never ever?" Miyuki asked.
"Never ever never never ever ever never." Masuta said.
"Never ever ever-"
"Mi-chan helped!" Miyuki said.
"Can your mom?" Masuta asked.
"... No." Miyuki said. "I'm insecure about marriage."
"Don't be!" Masuta said.
"Okay." Miyuki said.
"I'm eating!" Tony said.
"So am I!" Tsukasa chimed.
"I'm telling a-" Masuta started.
"I'm interrupting!" Tony said.
"... I'm telling a story about-"
"I'm still interrupting!" Tony said.
"... I'm telling a story about a ba-"
"I'm STILL interrupting!" Tony said.
"Stop interrupting." Masuta said.
"Okay." Tony said.
"I was ignored!" Masuta said.
"I'm ignored." Miyuki said.
"That's horrible!" Tsukasa said.
"I'm ignoring the issue." Tony said.
"I'm moving in!" Kagami said.
"Hey, let's talk about what turns us on~!" Konata chimed.
"Tell me!" Kagami shouted.
"Oh, you'll find out. I'm about to summon it." Konata said.
"Fetish battle, GO!" Kagami shouted.
"Girls, boys, boob milk, Onee-sama, BAKA, and monsters!" Konata shouted.
"Mine is-"
"Tsukasa!" Tony shouted.
"We're laying down!" Tsukasa said.
"I'm putting blanket on them!" Miyuki said.
"Miyuki, do the thing!" Tony said.
"Once upon a time..." Miyuki did the thing.
"KAGAMI LOVES TSUKASA~!" Konata screamed for the heavens to hear. "We all know what she was saying!"
"You like vore!" Kagami accused.
"I'll get eaten if you go out with Tsukasa!" Konata said.
"That's a different story!" Kagami shouted as she looked at the camera. "Look it up."
"You like it." Konata said.
"In private, yeah." Kagami said.
"I'm finished with the thing." Miyuki said.
She's good at the thing. Tony looked at his brother.
I didn't know she could do the thing. Masuta said.
Wanna see her do it again? Tony asked.
Oh yeah. Masuta nodded.
"Miyuki, Yutaka is okay, right?" Tony asked. Miyuki nodded.
"Yes, I spoke with her yesterday." Miyuki said.
"Good, now DO THE THING!" Tony said.
"Once upon a time..." Miyuki did the thing.
"Kona, I wanna train." Kagami said.
"No." Konata said.
"I wanna train!" Kagami complained.
"No!" Konata said.
"I wanna train~!" Kagami whined.
"Nope!" Konata spanked Kagami.
"I'm gonna train~!" Kagami cheered as she swung a huge sword.
"I'm gonna die~!" Konata said as she fell.
"I'm gonna save you~!" Miki said as she stopped it.
"I'm gonna flirt now." Kagami said as she rubbed against Konata.
"I'm gonna love you forever!" Konata said.
"I did the thing." Miyuki sighed.
"The thing is awesome." Tony said. "You're sharp." Tony said.
"I'm tired." Miyuki said.
"Tsukasa's room is that way." Tony pointed.
"I'll try not to cut the blanket." Miyuki walked away.
"Miyuki's smart." Masuta said.
"Smarter than me." Tony said.
"Something suggestive taken out of context." Tsukasa mumbled.
"I'm blushing!" Tony said.
"Osu-chan~!" Kagami pet a big bird.
"We're getting a pet!" Konata said.
"And I'm here too!" A wild Misao appears!
"Alright, I'm out!" Konata fled!
"Hiiragin, I love you!" Misao used Attract!
"I love you like a sister!" Kagami said. ... It wasn't very effective."I'm getting insecure!" Kagami used Attract! It's super effective!
"I love you Hiiragin!" Misao used Splash! It's super effective!
"Gah!" Kagami shouted.
"Haha!" Misao used Taunt! It's super effective!
"I'm gonna get you!" Kagami used Tackle! ... It wasn't very effective.
"I love you Hiiragin~~~!" Misao used Roar! Kagami fled! Go Konata!
"Hey Ferret Face!" Konata used Taunt! ... It's not very effective.
"You love Hiiragin?" Misao asked.
"Yep!" Konata said.
"But I love Hiiragin!" Misao complained.
"Too bad, I win!" Konata said.
"Oh well!" Misao said.
"I'm here!" Hachiman said.
"Hey boss." Tony waved.
"You screwed up, but I'll help!" Hachiman said as he healed Tony.
"Bitchin'. Let's fight." Tony said as everyone left. Tony punched and got thrown billions of miles away.
"I'll help!" Tsukasa said. "Song that wasn't mentioned for a long time!" Tsukasa sang.
"I'm a Dragoon!" Tony shouted. "Back off all of you! Unless you think you can stand up to the full power of my FIST!" Tony shouted. He punched Hachiman.
"... What." Hachiman said. Hachiman used Beat Down! ... It wasn't very effective.
"Kick!" Tony used High Kick! Enemy Hachiman was sent flying!
"WHAT." Hachiman shouted.
"Oh! Done now!" Tony shouted.
"I win!" Hachiman said.
"Hey, can we go to Seifa Utaki?" Tony asked.
"Yeah sure." Hachiman said.
"Everybody is GONE!" The Director shouted.
LUCKY~ STAR~!
"... The story has HOW many followers?" Atem asked.
The Courtyard of the Hiiragi House
Kagami walked into the courtyard of her house with fresh clothes on, after having taken a small detour, and looked at the two. The two having noticed that she was coming before she had come, had broken apart from their handshake and retreated to opposite sides of the courtyard.
"Kagamin, will you tell Ferret face that she can leave now?" Konata asked.
"Hiiragin, will you tell Chibi that she can go home now?" Misao asked.
"Hey, I asked first!" Konata said.
"Well Hiiragin loves me like a sister!" Misao said. "Her home is my home!" Misao said.
"Kagamin's home is my home too!" Konata said.
"Fine! I'm leaving, 'cause I can't stand to live with YOU Chibi!" Misao shouted. She stormed out. Kagami sighed.
"Why can't you two get along?" Kagami asked. "I love you both, so I wish you would at least try and bury the hatchet." Kagami said. Konata gasped.
"Kagamin! Are you emotionally cheating on me?" Konata asked over-dramatically.
"Like a sister, you idiot." Kagami said. "My feelings for Misao are purely platonic." Kagami said.
"Are you sure Kagamin?" Konata asked. She had to admit, she was pretty curious. Of course, whether or not Kagami would be honest was anybodies guess.
"Of course I'm sure, moron. Misao is my sister, just like Ayano. I have no romantic feelings for her whatsoever." Kagami said. Konata smiled to hear it, but almost grimaced at how it might have hurt her secret friend to hear had she been there. Luckily, the brunette had been serious about leaving and had done so before overhearing Kagami's statement. Suddenly, Konata's phone began to ring. She picked it up.
"Yo!" She said.
"Hey Kon-kon, good news!" Tony said.
"What's up Kan-kan?" Konata asked.
"I got Boss to agree to take us to Seifa Utaki!" Tony said. Konata smiled and put her other hand on the phone in excitement.
"That's awesome! I'll finally get to find this spirit of the wind chick!" Konata said with a smile.
"Yeah! When do you want to go?" Tony asked. Konata hummed in thought for a moment.
"One sec!" Konata said. She muted outgoing sound and turned to Kagami. "Hey Kagami, Kan-kan said he got us a trip to Seifa Utaki! Do you want to come with?" Konata asked.
"Do you even need to ask?" Kagami asked. Konata smiled.
"When do you want to go?" She asked.
"Whenever you want to Kona." Kagami said. Konata nodded and unmuted her phone.
"When is the earliest we can go?" Konata asked.
"Hang on, let me ask the boss." Tony said. All sound stopped from the other end for a moment. It resumed shortly after. "We could go now if you'd like." Tony said. Konata nodded to herself.
"Is now good Kagamin?" Konata asked. Kagami nodded.
"Sure! It hopefully won't be too long." Kagami said. Konata smiled and started talking on the phone again.
"Sure, as soon as you can!" She said.
"Be there soon." Tony said. They hung up the phone. Konata looked over at Kagami to find her girlfriend staring at her.
"You know..." Here, Kagami smirked. "He can't see those gestures you're doing." Kagami said. Konata giggled a bit.
"See how much you're rubbing off on me Kagamin~?" Konata chimed.
"Not too bad an idea." Kagami replied with a sly look. Konata blushed a bit at the mental image. "Maybe if we had more time, but as I suspect..." Kagami sighed. "Three... two... one." She said. Suddenly, Tony, Tsukasa and Hachiman spun into sight.
"You're sure Masuta and Miyuki made it home safely?" Tony asked.
"Kid, I'm Divine. Please, give me SOME credit." Hachiman said.
"Onee-chan~!" Tsukasa rushed over and hugged Kagami. Kagami smiled as Tsukasa's momentum caused her to swing around Kagami's neck. The only reason Kagami wasn't taken off her feet was because she was so used to getting tackle-hugged by Misao. "I missed you Onee-chan!" She said. Kagami smiled and hugged her back.
"I missed you too Tsukasa." Kagami said.
"Kan-kun explained everything to me. Well, everything he could." Tsukasa said. "You guys are gonna go somewhere and do something! Something with wind or something, right?" Tsukasa asked.
"Yeah, at Seifa Utaki." Kagami nodded. "Could you let everyone know where we went?" Kagami asked. Tsukasa nodded.
"Yup! I'll tell everyone where you went!" Tsukasa said. Kagami smiled.
"So what are you going to do after that?" Kagami asked out of curiosity.
"I'm gonna go to the store and pick up some groceries for mine and Kan-kun's house. He's-... We're almost out of food!" Tsukasa said. Kagami nodded.
"I guess I understand that. We keep eating his food." Kagami chuckled a little.
"Hey guys, we should probably be going." Hachiman said. "I'm trying to search dimensions for you guys and I'd like to find one soon. Bu that's not going to happen if we're standing here all day." Hachiman said. Kagami sighed and nodded.
"Got it. Tsukasa, I'll see you later, okay?" Kagami hugged her sister again. The two broke apart and Kagami backed up to near her girlfriend, Tony and Hachiman.
"Have fun Onee-chan!" Tsukasa waved. Kagami waved as the four of them apparated.
Elsewhere
Konata, Kagami, Tony and Hachiman all twisted into sight. Hachiman gestured towards the woods.
"Here it is. The Forest of Spirits. This is a secluded part that only a select few know about." Hachiman said.
"Really?" Kagami asked.
"Humans have not set foot in this part in thirteen centuries." Hachiman said.
"So, this is the Forest of Spirits." Konata whistled, looking around.
"It looks like we're barely at the edge of the forest, but it's still so thick I can barely see inside..." Tony observed.
"Well?" Kagami asked. "Let's go!" She shouted, pointed into the trees. "Onward to adventure!" She shouted excitedly. Hachiman sighed and walked over to one of the trees, leaning against it.
"Eh? Boss, aren't you coming?" Tony asked. Hachiman seemed to think.
"It would... cause a ruckus if I were to come in with you. Hurry up in there. I'll be waiting for you." Hachiman said. Konata, already ahead of everyone, nodded.
"We'll be back as quick as we can!" She said as she walked into the forest. Tony gave a last look at Hachiman before he followed his sister and her girlfriend into the forest. Hachiman smiled and chuckled.
"Well this is gonna be interesting." He commented.
The Forest of Spirits
Konata, Kagami and Tony walked through the forest, looking around.
"What do you think we're looking for?" Tony asked.
"Something about spirits, right Kona?" Kagami asked.
"That guy said that we're looking for the spirit of the wind. He said she was a girl too." Konata said. Kagami looked up.
"Oh yeah, that's right. Hachiman said something about her. Her personality is odd, he said." Kagami said.
"What? When did he say that?" Konata asked.
"Another time." Kagami waved her hand dismissively. She whipped her head around. "Hey, what was that?" Kagami asked.
"What is it Kagamin? Did you see something?" Konata asked. Kagami looked around for a moment before answering.
"I don't know. I thought I saw something whiz past us." Kagami said. She shrugged. "Tony, can you do something and scan around us? See if there's anything?" Kagami asked.
"Well, there's a ton of insects and birds and stuff, so no I don't think so. I'd pick them all up too." Tony said.
"Can you limit it to humans then?" Kagami asked. Tony sighed.
"I can try..." Tony said. He tried to mentally scan around them for signs of human life. "... Huh. Never had that happen before." He said.
"What?" Kagami asked.
"I can't scan anything. It's like this whole forest is some sort of dead zone." Tony said. "Like some sort of dampening field, I guess. I suppose for a spiritual forest..." He shrugged. Kagami sighed.
"It was probably just an insect Kagamin." Konata said. Kagami scratched the back of her head.
"Yeah, I guess..." She said. The three of them started walking again.
"You know, it really says something about us that you immediately jumped to something supernatural or something." Konata chuckled.
"Well... I want to be alert if something happens..." Kagami said. Konata looked around.
"... I see what you mean. It sure feels like we're not alone." Konata said.
"OUCH!" They heard a tiny voice beneath them. Konata picked her foot up and a little ball of green flew out. It came up to her face.
"Um..." Konata said. "Are... Are you okay?" She asked.
"Wind spirits, ya know..." The little ball of green light spoke. It sounded female as well. "When strangers come, we hide in the flowers. So you absolutely can't step on flowers!" It scolded. Konata scratched the back of her head.
"Sorry... I didn't know..." Konata said. "Wait, you're the spirit of the wind?" Konata asked. The spirit giggled.
"Please just be careful in the future." The spirit started flying around in a circle. "I'll let everyone know you're coming!" It flew off into the woods. Tony, Konata and Kagami all stared after it.
"..." Tony was speechless.
"Well that happened." Kagami said.
"I don't know... She said she was a spirit of the wind, do you think she's who we're looking for?" Konata asked.
"She said wind spirits, so there are more than one?" Tony asked. The three of them continued on through the forest. However, all of them were now careful to not step on any flowers. The three traveled on a ways more, having random conversations while they were going in order to pass the time. Once, Konata pulled a branch back and let it swing back, knocking Tony in the face, but their travels were otherwise uneventful. Suddenly, a green ball of light approached them from the front.
"Hey, are you the same spirit as before?" Konata asked. It giggled.
"Yep! I was watching! Thank you for not stepping on my friends!" She chimed. "I'll give you this!" She said as she dropped something. Konata caught it and looked at it to see a small acorn.
"Thank you." She said on reflex at being given something. "Um... What is it?" She asked.
"You're my friend now! A spirit friend!" She said excitedly. Konata looked down at the little acorn and smiled.
"Thank you. I'll treasure it." Konata smiled. Suddenly, a soft light radiated off of the seed. Konata could feel warm energy start to enter her. Her senses seemed to sharpen ever so slightly as she looked around. It was as if she had been fatigued and now she was well again. "Wha...?" She looked around.
"What's wrong Kon-kon?" Tony asked. As her mind adjusted to her new senses, she shook her head. She could still notice that things seemed to move a bit slower, but once she got used to it, it was relatively unnoticeable.
"Nothing." She said. She felt a little lighter. "Hey, could you help us with something?" Konata asked the little green light.
"Sure thing buddy!" She flittered around happily.
"Are you THE Spirit of the Wind?" Konata asked. The small spirit giggled.
"I think you're looking for Sylph! I'm a spirit of the wind, but she's the GREAT spirit of the wind!" The little spirit said.
"Ah. Do you think you could lead us to her?" Konata asked. The spirit moved up and down in assent.
"Any time~!" She chimed. "Follow me~!" She fluttered off. The three had to run to keep up and could barely manage that in the foliage. The forest being the spirit's home, it navigated the trees with ease while everyone else did their best not to trip or step on flowers.
"We're almost at what looks like the deepest part of the forest." Tony observed.
"The trees are getting almost too thick to move through quickly..." Kagami said.
"Oh?" They heard a female voice from up ahead. "What business does a human have here?" They heard as they found a clearing. Before them was a very small girl. One could almost describe her as the size of a fairy as she also flew with small wings in the middle of the clearing. She had very light green, almost silvery hair and almond colored eyes. On top of her head was a backward ahoge. Konata was the first to enter the clearing.
"Um... Are you Sylph? The Spirit of the Wind?" Konata asked as Tony got through the woods. Sylph winked and nodded.
"Yep yep! Do you need something?" Sylph asked. Konata scratched the back of her head.
"Well..." She tried to think. Kagami finally got into the clearing.
"WHA?" Sylph shouted upon seeing her. "You're... Wait, are you...?" She suddenly seemed unsure of herself. Kagami looked confusedly at the spirit.
"Do you know me?" Kagami asked. Sylph seemed to wonder.
"Um... No, you don't smell quite right." She decided. She shook her head. "Never mind~!" She chimed. The three looked at each other.
... I smell? Kagami wondered, but ultimately decided not to press the issue.
"So what can I help you with?" Sylph asked.
"Well... um... A guy told me I wasn't using the wind right... And he said to come here..." Konata tried to remember the guy's name.
"What are you saying? I don't understand..." Sylph said. She sighed. "Since you suck at explaining things, I'll just ask the wind!" Sylph said. She closed her eyes and wind began to blow around them. She nodded. "Uh-huh... Uh-huh... You and your friends are being threatened by assassins from the future and you want to gain my help to protect everyone." Sylph said.
"Wait, how do you know all of that?" Konata asked. Sylph winked again.
"The wind never lies to me~." She chimed. "I get it. Someone like you... You wouldn't use my powers for evil." Sylph said. Konata began getting excited.
"Does that mean you'll help?" Konata asked. Sylph hummed.
"Well~... No. Not yet, at least. I can't let a weak person use my power! Or rather... My power can't be mastered by a weak person." Sylph said. Konata nodded.
"I understand. Do you want to test me then?" Konata asked. Sylph nodded happily.
"You're quick to catch my drift!" She said.
"Well I played left drift in high school." Konata said. "So how do you want to test me?" Konata asked.
"In a fight! If you can hit me once, I'll pass you!" Sylph said.
"... Only once?" Konata asked. Sylph nodded.
"Yup! Only once!" Sylph said. "Though, it may not be possible..." She giggled. Tony and Kagami stood back.
"Ready?" Konata asked. Sylph nodded.
"Here we go~!" She shouted as a wind began to blow. Konata ran up and struck at the spirit. Suddenly, a barrier of wind blocked her.
"Hey!" Konata said.
"My barrier isn't going to let anything through! Plus, it'll leave you open to a counter!" Sylph said. A wind blew around Konata.
"Haan..." Konata's knee's trembled. She hadn't expected THAT at all.
"Kon-kon, you okay?" Tony asked. "Here, I'll heal you!" He said as he reached out with his mind. He examined her mentally. "Hm... Um..." He kicked his head to the side.
"What's the problem Tony?" Kagami asked.
"She's... not hurt." Tony said. Konata growled and ran up, attacking the spirit again.
"No matter how many times you try, it won't work!" Sylph said happily. The barrier of wind blocked her attack again. "Here comes the counter!" Sylph pointed at the Otaku, causing a wind to blow around Konata. Her whole body trembled.
"Haaa~..." She exhaled. Her body quaked. Tony mentally scanned her again. Again, there was no damage to her body... Konata began thinking. This doesn't make any sense... How can she... No, I can't think about that. Konata thought. Serene Mind... She thought, bringing her mind to the peak of serenity, more to calm herself down than of any application in battle. She looked at the spirit, who was smiling. Konata ran up and struck, once again being countered. "Ah~!" She fell to her hands and knees.
"Kona!" Kagami shouted, running over.
"No helping~!" Sylph said. Kagami stopped and growled, clenching her fist in frustration. Konata breathed a few times, getting herself under control again.
What can I do... She thought. Maybe if I can get behind her? No, that barrier is gonna go all the way around... She thought.
"Did you realize that it's impossible?" Sylph asked. "Using this shield makes me tired, so hurry and give up!" Sylph said. Konata gasped a bit.
It makes her tired, huh...? Konata thought. She stayed where she was for a minute.
"... Do you give up?" Sylph asked.
"Not yet." Konata said. Sylph made a pained expression. The two stayed staring at each other another minute.
"... Hey, hurry up and attack!" Sylph complained. Konata remained motionless as she stared at the spirit. "... Fight for real!" Sylph said. Konata smiled. "... You're getting tired, right? Right?" Sylph asked.
"Not really." Konata said. Sylph whined a bit.
"I... I can't hold on..." Sylph mumbled. She clenched her eyes closed in exertion. "No more..." She sighed as the wall of wind dissipated. She opened her eyes to see Konata standing in front of her. Konata plucked the little spirit right out of the air. Sylph fell to the ground and rubbed the top of her head.
"I won!" Konata cheered. Sylph's lip began to tremble as tears welled up in her eyes.
"Wah~!" She started to cry. "That's no fair, you cheated!" She said.
"What? I didn't cheat!" Konata said.
"You're so mean! You didn't have to hit me so hard!" Sylph complained.
"I-I'm sorry..." Konata apologized, scratching her head. Sylph sniffed.
"To be honest, I don't really know how to fight. I've only ever really tried to fight by myself a few times..." She said in between cries. Konata sighed.
I just made a literal force of nature cry... She said to herself. Just because she's the Spirit of the Wind, I guess that doesn't necessarily mean she's a master of combat... Konata thought.
"So will you use my power properly?" Sylph asked, sniffling the last of her tears away. Konata nodded.
"Of course." Konata smiled. Sylph smiled.
"Then we'll be together forever from now on!" Sylph said as she flew over to Konata. She put a hand on Konata's head and closed her eyes. "Whenever you're attacked, I promise I'll help. Just call me, ya know?" Sylph said as she disappeared.
"Whoa, where did she go?" Kagami asked. Suddenly, a weird feeling spread through Konata. It felt almost like she was fusing with the air itself. The air seemed to blow through her body. "Sylph, are you... inside me?" Konata asked.
"Hey, no one gets in my Kona but me!" Kagami protested, but Konata didn't hear it as her body felt even weirder. It was odd, almost as if she could sense everything around her, like she could listen to the whispers on the wind itself. How many insects there are or birds flying by... It was like the wind told her everything.
"This is crazy..." Konata mumbled. She looked around. "So... How does this work, I wonder..." Konata thought.
"I don't know." Tony shrugged.
"Maybe you can control wind now?" Kagami asked.
"If I can, I need to come up with a cool catchphrase." Konata chuckled. "How about..." Konata thought. "Be blown away by the winds of change!" Konata asked, taking a heroic pose. Tony and Kagami both chuckled.
"Oh! I didn't know you had that!" Konata heard the spirit speak inside her head. Konata looked around.
Sylph, are you inside my head? Konata asked.
"Your soul, actually! You actually have a great affinity for the wind!" Sylph chimed. Konata smiled.
So, if you're the Spirit of the Wind, and you're helping me, does that mean I can control wind like you? Konata asked. Sylph hummed.
"... That's no good!" Sylph asserted. "If you use the wind to strong arm stuff like that, the wind will cry!" Sylph said. "You have to listen to it! Play with it!"
"But... I am listening to you." Konata said. She got the impression of Sylph shaking her head with a giant X made out of her arms.
"No, not me! The wind, the wind! If you try to force it to do something, it'll just leave you!" Sylph said. Konata thought about what she had been told.
Play... with the wind... She wondered. It didn't seem to make any sense. She sighed.
"Hey~! Fuji is watching us! Hey Fuji! Fuji Fuji Fuji!" Konata got the distinct impression that the ancient spirit of the wind was waving energetically, perhaps dancing a dance of welcoming. If the god was indeed watching, he made no comment. Konata smiled and chuckled.
"Are you ready Kona?" Kagami asked. Konata nodded.
"I think so..." She said. She began to leave the clearing. However, the same green ball of light from earlier popped up, along with a bunch of other green lights.
"Yay~! You did it~!" It cheered as the green lights began circling around the group.
"You did it~! You did it~!" The green spirits all cheered. Suddenly, all of the lights dashed to the ground and began hiding under flowers. A woman walked through the forest and spotted them.
"Finally. The damn forest messes with our scans..." She said, looking around. "Senkou." She said. Tony summoned both of his blades and handed the one Konata liked to use to her. It vanished from sight when Konata grabbed it. The woman chuckled. "I'll show you true power!" She shouted as a gale of wind began assaulting them.
"This is stupid, how would they even know we're here?" Tony cursed out loud as he braced himself against the wind.
"Konata, this girl is really strong! Summon me right away! If you don't, you'll be beat for sure!" Sylph shouted in a panic. Konata nodded.
"Sylph, please lend me your power!" Konata shouted. It felt as if a small tornado surrounded her. The wind that was attacking her ceased, but Tony was still unable to move much.
"Please." The woman said as she dashed up. However, the wind barrier pushed her away.
"No, Konata, this isn't right! The wind is crying!" Sylph complained. The woman the two were facing laughed.
"That's how you use wind, I see. How simple. It's easy to break such a barrier." She said. She put her hand up to her lips and blew. A powerful blast of wind struck Konata, causing her to have to brace herself too. Tony put up a barrier of energy around himself and Kagami, still unable to attack with the incredible pressure assaulting him.
"What... The wind..." Konata mumbled.
"Too easy!" The woman shouted as she struck out. Konata moved out of the way like water flowing around an obstacle. She swung her blade up, but the woman disappeared instantly. Konata looked around, but felt the disturbance in the flow of the world. She leaned to the side, barely dodging another strike. Even though she had felt it, the blow was still almost too fast her for to dodge.
Sylph, what am I doing here? Konata asked.
"You have to listen to the wind! The wind wants to play! It wants to rage around more!" Sylph said.
Play with it...? Konata wondered. "Sylph, help!" She called as a small tornado surrounded her once again.
"Barely a breeze!" The woman called, striking Konata across the cheek. Konata rolled off her shoulder and popped back up. Suddenly, her cheek stopped hurting.
"I can't attack, but I can provide support!" Tony said within his barrier, the powerful winds preventing him from being of much help in the actual fight. Konata nodded her thanks.
"Konata, listen to the wind! Just go with the flow and enjoy the ride!" Sylph said. "The wind likes to play! Listen to how it moves, what it wants! I know you can do it!" Sylph said. Konata groaned as the woman attacked again. She shifted out of the way again and attacked. The woman disappeared once again.
Listen to the wind... Konata began focusing on the wind around her. It seemed to be moving in varying levels of speed and intensity all around her. Is it trying to talk to me? Is the wind even sentient? Konata wondered.
"Here, tell me what you want to say, Konata! I'll tell the wind!" Sylph said. Konata thought.
Listen to what the wind wants. Follow the flow with it... And let it do what it wants with me... Konata wondered. I think... I get it... Konata thought.
"Quick, call me back with that image in your mind!" Sylph said. Konata nodded.
"If I summon the wind inside myself..." Konata mumbled as she did her best to summon the wind. Suddenly, the wind around her seemed to change. It was as if it were an extension of herself, a part of her. As the wind entered Konata, everything seemed to be different. The woman was attacking her and getting closer. Konata couldn't help but wonder why she had decided to attack at a normal speed if she could move as fast as she could before. Konata moved out of the way, stepping behind the woman. Her face fell, changing to one of great surprise as Konata successfully dodged. The Otaku struck the woman on the back of the head with the hilt of her blade, knocking the woman out. As she fell unconscious, her body disappeared. Konata sighed as everything around her seemed to speed up, though she hadn't noticed it slow down in the first place. She sighed in exhaustion. Apparently, summoning a spirit's power took from her own energy.
"You did it Konata~!" Sylph shouted cheerfully. She smiled and looked over to Tony and Kagami. Both were staring at her, their mouthed gaped.
"... What." Kagami said.
"I could barely follow your movements." Tony said. Konata scratched the back of her head.
"Well, I guess that's that..." Konata said nonchalantly.
"That's a way of putting it..." Kagami sighed as she scratched her head. Green lights surrounded them all again.
"You did it again~! You did it again~!" They all cheered, circling the group. Kagami chuckled nervously.
"... But I didn't really do anything..." She chuckled. The spirits all stopped.
"Wait... Is Oji here?" They all began asking.
"... Oji?" Tony asked.
"Oji! Oji! OJI!" They all began chanting as they flew outside of the forest. Tony, Konata and Kagami looked at each other, shrugged, and followed them. They finally reached the edge of the forest to see the spirits all circling Hachiman.
"OJI~!" Sylph shouted as a green light left Konata and began circling Hachiman, taking the form of Sylph. Hachiman chuckled.
"Hey Sylph! It's been a long time!" Hachiman said.
"You know each other?" Konata asked. Hachiman chuckled.
"You could say that." Hachiman said. Sylph returned to Konata. "Looks like you got Sylph's power safely." Hachiman commented. "I can see it in how you walk and hold yourself with that new power of yours." Hachiman chuckled. Konata looked proud.
"You can tell, huh?" Konata asked. "What do you think? Aren't I cool?" Konata asked. Hachiman chuckled.
"Yeah, sure kid. But how did you handle... that?" Hachiman asked.
"That?" Konata asked.
"... You know." Hachiman said. Konata blushed.
"Um... Well, I didn't expect it, THAT'S for sure." Konata said. Tony and Kagami looked at each other.
"What are you two talking about?" Kagami asked. Hachiman and Konata chuckled nervously.
"Why does she do that?" Konata asked Hachiman. The god scratched the back of his head.
"Sylph has next to no combat experience, so she asks the wind to... er... I'm going to say "massage" here, and I'm going to hope that you understand what I'm talking about." Hachiman said.
"Well even is she does, we don't!" Tony complained.
"When Sylph's wind blew... It felt... Um..." Konata blushed as she looked up. Kagami, catching her meaning, blushed as well.
"Got it. Say no more." Kagami said. Tony nodded.
"I think we understand the gist." He said. Suddenly, there was an explosion. The four people looked over and braced themselves. Several figures stood in the midst of the smoke.
"So we finally meet, Senkou." One, the apparent leader, said as the smoke cleared. Tony and Konata immediately stepped forward and prepared themselves.
"Who is this?" Hachiman asked. "Why is he calling you that, kid?" Hachiman asked.
"I don't know why they call me that, but these are the guys who have been trying to kill me." Tony said. Hachiman stepped forward, staring the leader in the eyes.
"Is that so?" He asked. The assassin laughed. "Know this, these people are under my personal protection." Hachiman said, fully expecting them to back off.
"Please, who even is this? I came for Senkou, not some bald old man!" He laughed, throwing a blast at the god. Hachiman smacked the blast off into the sky.
"What? Do you know what it means to attack the God of Warriors?" Hachiman asked, now quite irritated. "Come forth!" He called the blade from Konata's hand. His hand closed around the hilt.
"Who cares about the Old Gods?" One of the people asked. Hachiman flashed through the group. The one talking was suddenly cut apart as he dematerialized. Hachiman brought himself back up to full height.
"That's new." Tony said.
"Anyone else?" Hachiman asked the group. The remaining of the group, now seeming to catch on that their partner had just been forcefully sent back to his own time before he was killed, gasped and turned around.
"Armor! Everyone, armor!" The leader shouted as all of them shimmered. The five remaining turned from Tony and rushed Hachiman. Hachiman jumped back and landed, pushing off the ground forward at a random member.
"I'll drill the terror of this technique into your mind!" Hachiman shouted, slashing like a chaotic star. Even though those left attempted to attack, Hachiman's dance of death left no openings as he struck the member of the group. The last strike cutting down the man's shield, the man dematerialized. Four were left.
"Such skill...!" One of them exclaimed. Hachiman turned and put his sword up.
"Thunder Thrust!" He shouted as he attacked. Striking as quick as the sound of thunder, his sword pierced another man's chest. He kicked off the man and jumped into the air as the man dematerialized.
"Blast him!" The leader said. The three remaining began letting loose a barrage of energy attacks.
"I'm gonna split your skull! Divine Skull Beheading!" Hachiman shouted as he fell, putting his weight into his sword. His sword trailed down a man's body, dematerializing as he went. A small crater formed around him from the force with which he struck. The remaining two attacked him from his sides. He flash stepped to the other side of one and put the sword to his neck.
"Uhg!" The man growled.
"I'll cut you down!" Hachiman said. "Divine Decapitation!" Hachiman called as he swiped the sword and sent the man back to his own time. Hachiman glared at the one remaining, the leader. His knees now quaking, he fell to the ground.
"M-My comrades..." He said. Hachiman smiled at the man.
"This is what it means to attack me." He said. "Any last requests?" He asked.
"Hey boss!" Tony said. Hachiman turned to him.
"Yeah kid?" Hachiman asked.
"Isn't this usually supposed to be the fight where Kon-kon gets to test her new powers out?" Tony asked. Hachiman chuckled.
"Sorry kid. I got a little carried away. You want a crack at this Konata?" Hachiman asked. Konata held a hand up.
"Eh... Nah. All you. I'm still trying to piece together all of Sylph's advice. You can take him." Konata said. Hachiman chuckled.
"Hey." He turned to the leader. "What happens when I kill one of you? I notice there's no blood anywhere. I've never seen anything like that." Hachiman said.
"When we're mortally injured, we're sent back to our time. We're taken to a hospital..." The man said in fear, hoping for anything that might spare him. "Please, I'll return to my own time, I'll never come back!" He said. Hachiman chuckled again.
"Well, the way I look at it, if I let you go, you might come back and attack them. If I strike you down, you'll definitely not come back. So I fail to see the point in letting you go." Hachiman said. Suddenly, the man's eyes lit up as he got up and struck at Hachiman, surprising him. Hachiman took the punch to the face, though it barely moved him since he was still ready from before.
"Ah nuts." The guy said. His attack finished, his eyes returned to normal.
"You have a Divine Well?" Hachiman asked. Suddenly, a force of pure energy assaulted the man, sending him down to the ground unable to move. The man struggled against his invisible bindings. Hachiman knelt down. "Who deified you?" Hachiman asked.
"I was born with this well! It's why I'm the leader!" The man said.
"Bullshit." Hachiman said. "The kid over there is the only one born with a Divine Well who isn't a full-blooded Divine. Anyone else would have had to be deified." Hachiman said.
"I'm his descendant!" The man said quickly. Hachiman stared at him for a moment.
"... Shut the hell up." He laughed. He looked over at Tony. "Congratz man. You've got your own spawn trying to murder you." Hachiman said.
"I don't even know why." Tony shrugged. Hachiman looked down at the man again.
"What did the kid do?" Hachiman asked.
"So-some of his descendants are evil!" He said.
"Bullshit, what did the kid do?" Hachiman asked again. The man sighed.
"Such power..." He mumbled. His eyes lit up again, having now had a rest. "But... I can't let someone like you live!" He shouted, opening his hand. The light faded from his eyes as a massive explosion rocked the group. Hachiman flash stepped over to Tony while Konata got in front of Kagami. Hachiman let only a relatively small amount of energy get through before he raised a barrier. Even against Hachiman's power, the attack greatly taxed his energy. It lasted but a moment before it stopped. Tony looked over to see the man was gone. Hachiman rolled his arms around to try and soothe his muscles from the exertion.
"Damn. That brat emptied his Divine Well on us. If I hadn't been here, you'd all be dead." He said.
"KONATA!" Kagami screamed.
"How are you doing Kon-kon?" Tony asked.
"Well done!" Konata said. Hachiman and Tony looked over to see Konata's back was burned badly in the instant before Hachiman had raised his barrier.
"Boss, bring us to Tsukasa!" Tony shouted, running over to Konata. Hachiman decided to go with it and teleported all of them.
Back at Home
The four of them flashed out into the street to see Tsukasa walking home with groceries in her hand. Tony landed and hugged Tsukasa.
"Hi Tsukasa, I missed you, could you heal Kon-kon please?" Tony asked. Tsukasa, still in a bit of a daze, shook her head and took a moment to comprehend what had been asked. Then, she nodded and put her groceries down. She walked over to Konata and took out her gem, as had become routine in her healings. She began to sing again.
"Day to Night,
Dark to Light,
Fall the Sands of Time...
Let the Years,
Like the Gears,
Of a clock unwind...
In your mind,
Walk through time,
Back to better days...
Memories,
Like a dream,
Wash tears away..."
A holy light seemed to surround Konata as her back began to turn a regular color again.
"Like a star in the sky,
Darkness can't reach you.
Light the night,
Joy is light,
'Til the new dawn...
Cast away your old face,
Let go your spite~,
With spirit,
Hear it,
My request for light~!"
Tsukasa finished, Konata's back fully repaired itself. She stretched.
"Thanks Tsukasa." Konata smiled as she stretched. Unlike when Tony did it, there was relief the entire healing instead of the unimaginable discomfort that came from skin repairing itself. "Man, that's convenient." She chuckled. Suddenly, everything seemed weird. The five of them seemed to move through space to an open field. As soon as the world stopped moving, a beam of silver light shone down on a new man. Hachiman rubbed his head.
"What the hell... To forcibly move me...?" He mumbled. The man in front of them knelt down.
"Ah, I've been looking for you quite extensively, Tsukasa Hikari." He said. "You see, my master has requested your presence and it has fallen to me to retrieve you." He said.
"Well-um..." Tsukasa mumbled.
"Okay, so where are we going?" Tony asked. The man looked over at him.
"Ah, Kanpeki Otokonoko, my apologies, but my master has requested the presence of Hikari and Hikari alone. What am I to tell him if I were to bring you both?" He asked.
"Tell him I'll kick his ass if he has a problem with it." Tony said.
"Is that so, mortal?" Another voice asked. Tony looked to the new man who had seemingly appeared from nowhere.
"And who are you?" Tony asked.
"I am Tsukuyomi the Moon, and your girlfriend has something of mine." He glared. Here, he turned to Tsukasa. "So girl, what say you?" He asked, turning his gaze on the small airhead. Tsukasa shrank.
"I-I-I..." She stuttered.
"Tsukuyomi?" Hachiman asked. "No wonder he moved me so easily..." He mumbled to himself. Kagami walked over and bowed deeply to the god. He seemed angry, so Kagami decided the extra formality was warranted.
"Lord Tsukuyomi, I'm sorry, but we don't know what you're talking about." Kagami said.
"SILENCE, little worm." He said. "Do you think I would believe you? I had it kept locked away, in a secure location!" Tsukuyomi said. "Even someone with your heritage should not have been able to take it, especially not with enough ease that I would not notice for so long!" He said. "I come to retrieve what is mine and I am threatened as well!" He turned his gaze to Tony. "I am quite tired of this. Perhaps I should decimate you all-" He shouted as energy began swirling in his hand. A chill began to nip at all present.
... I think I fucked up. Tony said. A wind blew as everyone save Konata slowed down. She looked over at Tsukuyomi to see even the freezing energy swirling in his hand had slowed to near nothing. Another figure caught her eye just out of the corner of it, causing her to look over.
"Hello young one..." A very slow, deep voice said. Konata looked over to see Fujin. A small green spirit left Konata and took the form of Sylph.
"Fuji~!" She zipped around the demonic looking man cheerfully. Konata, feeling it appropriate, bowed. Fujin laughed slowly.
"It would seem things have become... troublesome..." Fujin said. He looked over at Tsukuyomi. "I recall when he was first born. Always at war with his siblings. Always bickering. They never cease to amuse me." He said slowly. Konata chuckled nervously.
"Do you think you could help me somehow here?" Konata asked. Fujin laughed slowly.
"I need not do such a thing. Sylph has chosen you as her new companion." Fujin said as the spirit danced her dance of pleading.
"Please, please help us! Please, please help us!" She said rhythmically. "Please~ Fuji! Konata is, like, my best friend!" Sylph asked.
"Again, there is no need for such a thing." Fujin said. "Have you forgotten in the last thirteen centuries, little spirit?" Fujin asked. Sylph stopped and started making a thoughtful face.
"Um~... Nope! Dunno!" She said. Fujin gave a low, long sigh.
"The gem you have in your possession, young one. My boon. Take it out." Fujin said. Konata patted herself for a moment before finding it. She took it out. Fujin hummed at seeing it. "Hm hm hm. It is as I thought. Full of the power of the wind. All you need to do is harness it now." He said. Sylph cheered.
"I remember now~! Giga thingy~!" Sylph cheered, zipping around Konata. "Let me use it! Together, we'll be UNSTOPPABLE~!" Sylph cheered.
"She's very cheerful." Konata smiled.
"You have no idea." Fujin sighed slowly.
"Konata~, let's do it!" Sylph appeared inches from the girl's face and looked in Konata's eyes excitedly, surprising Konata. "We-use-the-wind-thingy-to-charge-the-giga-thingy-and-fire-it-at-the-big-scary-god-thingy!" She explained at near super sonic speeds. Konata looked over at Fujin for a translation.
"What the young spirit means to say is that the gem in your possession gathers the power from lesser spirits of the wind. It can be harnessed in an ability that predates you two millennia. The Wind Giga." Fujin explained. "However, the amount of energy the gem collects is minimal. To the end of using it at its full power, Sylph will have to collect energy from lesser spirits of the wind whenever the gem is not at full power." Fujin said.
"All I gotta do is call and my cute little subordinates will come help!" Sylph said. Fujin looked over to Hachiman.
"Ah, Ojin. Powerful for a Divine of human origin." He walked over. He took the blade Hachiman currently held. "Young one, give me my gem." He said. Konata handed over the gem Fujin had given to her. Holding the gem to the bottom of the hilt, the sword morphed around it to hold the green sphere. "Where it is meant to be." He commented before handing the blade to Konata. "Should you need them separated, Sylph will be able to do so. However, from now on, this blade is yours and yours alone. Let others use it as you wish." Fujin said.
"But... This is Kan-kan's sword." Konata said. Fujin laughed slowly.
"Hm hm hm. A sword given to a mortal by another mortal. Regardless, the blade is bound to you. Call it and it will come." Fujin said.
"How do I call it?" Konata asked. Fujin laughed.
"Simply call with the intention of calling the blade." Fujin said. "As Sylph will be teaching you the technique, you will need to alert her that you intend to use it. Perhaps a phrase of some sort." Fujin laughed a long laugh.
"I've got just the one!" Konata said. Fujin laughed again.
"I'm sure you have, young one." Fujin said. He looked over at Tsukuyomi again. "Hm hm hm. You are amusing, oh great "moon". I will enjoy your expression in the coming moments." He said as he began to vanish and the world sped up again. Sylph turned into a green light and flew back into Konata.
"I'm ready when you are, girl~!" Sylph chimed. Everything resumed at normal speed.
"-with the icy winds of the north!" Tsukuyomi finished.
"Quick, summon me Konata!" The spirit said. Konata held the blade up. The blade appeared as wind seemed to circle the group.
"Be blown away by the winds of change!" Konata shouted.
"What? That blade...!" Tsukuyomi mumbled as he threw the blast of icy air.
"Wind Giga!" Konata shouted. She slashed the blade as a devastating gale of razor winds cut through the air. The attack met the cold wind and sent it back at the god.
"What's this?" He asked as his own attack plus Konata's hit him. He guarded against it, but the surprise of it still let some of the attack through. The attack over after a moment, he looked at Konata with a stunned expression. He huffed.
"Konata, what did you do?" Hachiman asked, a bit panicked. Tsukuyomi stared at Konata for a moment, then at the gem embed in it.
"You have one too... How did you mortals steal the pieces?" Tsukuyomi asked.
"We really don't know what you're talking about." Konata said. Tsukuyomi looked around. Tony brought out his red one. The gems all began to glow.
"Where? Where did you get them?" Tsukuyomi asked.
"I got mine from Amaterasu!" Tsukasa said. Tsukuyomi glared at her, causing her to shrink again. His anger was, however, quite obviously no longer directed at her.
"Damn that infernal woman! Always doing whatever she wants!" He yelled. He stomped the ground almost childishly, causing a giant boulder to raise behind him as the ground broke. Everyone present flinched, though to varying degrees.
"Um-!" Tsukasa, in a surge of impressive courage, interrupted the god. Tsukuyomi stopped, looking over at the girl. She held the gem up. "Um... If this is yours... Then you can have it back!" She said, holding the gem up to the god and bowing her head. Tsukuyomi seemed stunned, looking at the girl. Then, he sighed, scratching his head. He turned his attention to Konata.
"Mortal, turn." He said. However, both Kagami and Tony were over there as well, so none of them really responded. "The one who successfully used her gem." He specified. Konata, realizing she was being addressed, turned to show her back to the god.
"Like this?" Konata asked. Tsukuyomi nodded, then sighed again.
"I see. Then this mortal has at least some skill in the use of my piece." He said. "Amaterasu, as infuriating as that woman is, must have had some reason to entrust it to you. And the fact that the others among you have a piece must mean something as well." He said. He looked over at Kagami. "You do not have one. Why?" Tsukuyomi asked. "If this one does, I'd imagine you would as well." Tsukuyomi gestured to Tsukasa. Kagami shrugged.
"We're not even sure what they are." Kagami said. Tsukuyomi stared at her blankly.
"... Rarely is it my treat to witness those so foolish as you." He said to the group. "You have not told them Ojin?" Tsukuyomi asked. Hachiman shook his head.
"Figured I'd let it be a surprise." Hachiman chuckled. Tsukuyomi studied him a moment before sighing.
"I will allow you to hold it for me, mortal. You've seemed to have gained its trust." He said. "But you're using it wrong." He said. Tsukasa kicked her head to the side.
"I know you can sing and use it!" She said cheerfully. Tsukuyomi took the stone and inspected it.
"... My sister seems to have to tied it's abilities to your voice. Therefore, I need only tie it to another phrase from you." He said. "But it must be something you don't normally say..." He said. He turned and addressed Konata again. "Mortal, what healing phrase would you say?" He asked. Konata backed up a step and then pointed at herself. Tsukuyomi nodded.
"Why me?" Konata asked.
"You said something strange before." Tsukuyomi said. "The "Winds of Change" or something. For healing, what would you say?" He asked. Konata hummed.
"Some hammy kind of phrase that no one would actually say..." She thought. "Is this like my new thing? The Wind Giga?" Konata asked. Tsukuyomi nodded.
"Similar enough." Tsukuyomi said.
"So... How about 'Be rejuvenated with the essence of life! Life Giga!' or something like that?" Konata asked. Tsukuyomi sighed.
"Well, I suppose no one would say that. That will do well enough." He said. He gave the stone back to Tsukasa. "Would you like to try it out?" He asked. Tsukasa looked down at the gem and realized that it would be used to help her friends. Knowing that, she nodded fiercely.
"Yes please!" She said. Tsukuyomi nodded and turned. Holding up his hand, he blasted pure energy at Tony, ripping a hole in his chest.
"Ahg!" He yelled, falling to the ground.
"KAN-KUN!" She yelled as she ran over.
"There you go. See if you can heal him." Tsukuyomi laughed.
"Tsukuyomi! That was too far!" Hachiman yelled. Tsukuyomi turned and glared at him.
"Do not misinterpret me, Ojin. I may be helping this girl, but I have no interest in their continued existence, let alone their well being. Nor in yours, for that matter." He said. "My sister may have deified you, but do not think for one second that you can order me around." Tsukuyomi said. Hachiman grit his teeth. Tsukasa fumbled the gem around before holding it in her hands.
"B-Be rejuvenated with the... Um..." She thought.
"Essence of life!" Konata supplied.
"Yeah! Be rejuvenated with the essence of life! Life Giga!" Tsukasa shouted. The gem she held in her hands flared brightly, a large explosion of energy washing over everyone present. Kagami rolled her arms around. She felt better than she had in a long time.
"Ug..." Tony groaned. He got up, rubbing his chest. He looked down to see himself completely repaired. "Huh. I remember almost dying. Did that not happen?" Tony asked.
"Kan-kun!" Tsukasa hugged her boyfriend.
"... Whoa." Konata said. "There was a gaping hole in your chest." Konata said. "Tsukasa, that was insane..." Konata said.
"Now do you understand the true power of the stone you wield? As you use it more, you will become more and more attuned to the Holy energy used in it's spell and can use them more efficiently. Though, you seem to use very little energy in their use as it is. So, the spells will grow in power the more you use them." Tsukuyomi said.
"Wait... Holy energy? Is that like energy that angels use?" Konata asked. Kagami, sick and tired of hearing about this, shot her girlfriend an exhausted look. Tsukuyomi chuckled.
"Surprisingly close. The two are similar, but not the same. Angelic energy and Holy energy are considered separate attributes of energy, as the former is better used in combat while the latter is suited more for healing." Tsukuyomi explained.
"There are different attributes of energy?" Tony asked. Tsukuyomi turned to him, giving him a flat look.
"... Duh. What did you think that giga thing used? Its a high level wind attribute technique. You truly are clueless." He sighed. He scratched his head. "Take care of my piece, Hikari. Should you lose it, it will be your head." Tsukuyomi said as he disappeared. All present were suddenly put back to their previous location. They all reeled at having teleported so far, though to varying degrees. Tony shook his head.
"Well... That was a thing." He said. "So you have an ultimate move now, Kon-kon?" Tony asked. Konata shrugged and nodded.
"I guess. I got a massive power boost!" Konata cheered. "I'm now the best fighter in the WORLD!" She said. Hachiman chuckled.
"Hey kid." Hachiman turned to Tony. "If you run into more of those guys trying to kill you, call me. I'll handle it." Hachiman said. Tony scratched the back of his head.
"Um... I would like to be able to handle them myself if possible, but if we're doing too badly, I'll call you." Tony said. Hachiman nodded.
"That'll work. Well, I guess I'll get out of your hair." Hachiman said. He rubbed the top of his head. "So to speak." He said.
"Alrighty." Tony shrugged "Good to see you and thank you so much for your help today!" Tony said. Hachiman smiled.
"Any time kid." He waved. "Konata, take good care of Sylph. As you can see, she isn't exactly the most... mature person." Hachiman chuckled. Konata gave a thumbs up.
"Sure thing!" She said cheerfully. Hachiman smiled.
"I guess I'll leave it to you then." He said. He vanished. Tony turned to Konata.
"So Kon-kon, now that you've got the Spirit of the Wind, what can you do? Can you control wind and stuff?" Tony asked. Konata shook her head knowingly.
"You can't, or the wind will cry!" She said. Tony and Kagami both looked confused. Tsukasa, who rarely know what was going on when it came to such things, kept smiling.
"The wind... will cry?" Tony asked. Konata waved her hand dismissively.
"It's complicated." She smiled. They heard a phone ring. Tony picked it up on realizing it was his.
"Hey Ototo, did we get sent back home?" Tony heard his brother ask. Tony nodded, though his brother could obviously not see him.
"Yeah, we had Hachiman send you guys back home since we were going on our own little adventure." Tony said. Masuta huffed.
"Well, do you mind coming over? We had something we were thinking of showing you." Masuta said. Tony hummed.
"Yeah sure. What is it?" Tony asked.
"Something that you won't believe." Masuta said. Tony shrugged.
"Just me or everyone?" Tony asked.
"Hell, bring everyone if you want. We've got room to accommodate everyone here." Masuta said.
"Well, alright. I'll see you in a moment." Tony said.
"Are you close? How are you getting here so quick?" Masuta asked.
"Magic." Tony said.
"Right." Masuta said. "Well, we'll see you soon then." Masuta said. The two ended the call.
"Hey guys, want to go see Miyuki and Aniki?" Tony asked.
"Sure Kan-kun~!" Tsukasa chimed happily, even though she had just seen the two. "But first, can we stop by home so I can drop off the groceries?" Tsukasa asked as she picked up the groceries she had dropped when she healed Konata. Tony nodded.
"Ah, yeah. Sorry about that, I forgot..." Tony chuckled.
"At least remember that I went to run an errand..." Tsukasa sighed.
"Sorry, a lot happened..." Tony said. Tsukasa nodded.
"It's alright Kan-kun." She said. Tony turned to Konata and Kagami.
"So how about you two? Wanna come?" Tony asked.
"Sure, I haven't seen Miyuki in a long time!" Konata said.
"Since she was celebrating getting her family out of debt..." Tsukasa mumbled. Konata kicked her head to the side.
"What was that?" She asked, having not heard the airhead. Tsukasa shook her head.
"Nothing." She said cheerfully. "Onee-chan?" Tsukasa asked.
"Yeah, I'll go." Kagami smiled. The four spun in, teleporting to the house Tony and Tsukasa shared. They appeared in the kitchen. Tsukasa walked over to the counter and put her groceries down.
"Just one sec, I gotta put away the cold stuff." She said as she began putting various meats and dairy products away. After a few minutes, she finished, and turned around. "Alrighty! I'm ready!" Tsukasa chimed. Tony nodded as they all teleported again. Tony hit the ground along with everyone else to find themselves near Miyuki's house.
"I don't think I've ever been here, so I don't really know what's where." Tony said. "I didn't want to teleport inside anything." Tony said.
"Alrighty, understandable." Konata nodded as the two walked the rest of the way to their friend's house. Miyuki opened the door as they came.
"Welcome to our home." She smiled with her eyes. "Please, come in." She moved to the side for them to enter. The four walked in to the house.
"Hey guys." Masuta waved from the living room couch. They could see a large portion of the furniture was moved to form a large empty space. "You want to see something crazy?" He asked. Tony shrugged.
"Sure, why not?" Tony asked. Masuta chuckled.
"Miyuki, do the thing." Masuta said. Miyuki nodded.
"Kanpeki-san, would you mind helping me?" Miyuki asked.
"Yeah sure, what do you need?" Tony asked.
"Would you mind sparing with me?" Miyuki asked. Tony stared at her for a moment.
"... You too, Miyuki?" Tony asked. "Since when did you know how to fight?" Tony asked.
"I've been wanting to learn for a time now, in case something were to happen where neither you nor Konata-san would be able to defend Tsukasa. I would like to be able to do something." Miyuki said. Tony blankly stared at her before looking over at Konata.
"What's up with that, Kon-kon?" Tony asked.
"I know, Kan-kan. It's like nobody trusts us to take care of Tsukasa." Konata said.
"I would like to think we're not that bad at fighting." Tony said.
"Hey, I spent a little bit of time at the dummy, I think I can hold my own." Konata shrugged.
"Well, alright." Tony shrugged. "I guess if you want to Miyuki." He said.
"Just hold back Ototo." Masuta said. "Miyuki has progressed a lot, but she probably isn't close to you guys yet." Masuta said.
"Alright." Tony nodded.
"Her entire move set is defensive, however, so she only has a few counter attacks." Masuta said. Miyuki breathed deeply.
"Defensive, huh...?" Konata thought. "Hey Miyuki." Konata said. Miyuki looked over.
"Yes, Konata-san?" Miyuki asked.
"I think I have a technique that would be perfect for you." Konata said. Miyuki smiled.
"Oh?" She asked, clearly interested.
"Yeah. Try to clear your mind." Konata said. Miyuki hummed as she closed her eyes. Calling absolute serenity to her mind, she breathed deeply again.
"... Alright." She said.
"Now, keep that mindset and go ahead with fighting Kan-kan. If you feel like you want to move a certain way, go ahead." Konata said. Miyuki nodded.
"Thank you Konata-san." Miyuki said as she stood in front of Tony again. "Please go easy on me." She took a stance. Tony looked confused.
"... Aniki, you said you trained her?" Tony asked. Masuta nodded.
"I didn't say that, but that IS the case." Masuta said.
"Were you holding out on me? I don't know that stance and I'm fairly sure I'm never seen it before." Tony said.
"Easy, it's Miyuki's." Masuta chuckled. Tony blinked.
"Miyuki... You CREATED your own martial art?" Tony asked. Miyuki smiled.
"Hardly. I've merely created a stance natural to myself from which I can defend easier." Miyuki said.
"Well, do your best." Tony said. He struck at the Meganekko cautiously. She put her hand out to Tony's wrist and shifted her weight into her hand to throw Tony off. Miyuki used her own momentum to continue through the movement and spun before bringing her hand up to strike at a nerve on his shoulder. Tony ducked down low and swept at Miyuki's legs. Miyuki backed up a step and waited as Tony came back up. Tony punched while Miyuki used the same technique as before. This time, however, there wasn't nearly as much weight to Tony's attack as before. Suddenly, he stepped in and moved his knee against Miyuki, shifting her balance off. She fell to her rear. Tony huffed as he scratched the back of his head. Miyuki seemed disappointed in herself.
"I was hoping that I would have done better." Miyuki sighed. Tony chuckled.
"Well, I trained for years. You can't expect to match us in a few days." Tony said. "How long have you been training?" Tony asked. Miyuki sighed.
"Since yesterday." Miyuki said. Tony and Konata stared blankly at her.
"One day." Tony said.
"She's been training for one day?" Konata asked.
"Told ya it was crazy." Masuta said. "She's been pouring over different martial arts and kung fu sources and practicing them. When she can find something that tells the different angles and specific moves, she quickly masters it. Like I've never seen before." Masuta said. Miyuki smiled.
"I excel at spacial reasoning, as well as with geometry. With the tools I was given, it was fairly simple, if not time consuming, work to combine them into a natural stance." Miyuki said. Tony sighed and scratched the back of his head.
"Time consuming? You worked on it for a god damn day. How is that time consuming? And, by the way, how is it that I trained for years and years and then this girl just... "creates" her own stance that can defend against me?" Tony asked. Masuta shrugged.
"Told ya. It's crazy." Masuta chuckled. "Well, at least she isn't on your level yet." Masuta said.
"I would be pretty depressed if you could beat me with a day of training." Tony sighed.
"Miyuki, Miyuki!" Konata said. Miyuki turned to Konata.
"Yes?" She asked, knowing that the last time Konata had said something, it had been helpful.
"Maybe you and I could practice together some time? I know my way around some kung fu." Konata said. Miyuki looked delighted.
"That would be lovely Konata-san." Miyuki said. "I would be honored." Miyuki bowed. She then looked around a bit shyly. "Would... today be okay?" Miyuki asked. Konata turned to Kagami.
"Kagamin, would it be okay if I stayed here and helped Miyuki with her training?" Konata asked. Kagami folded her arms.
"So its fine to help Miyuki with her training, but not me?" Kagami asked. Konata scratched the back of her head ruefully.
"Well..." Konata mumbled. Kagami sighed.
"Fine. Just go ahead and train her. See if I care." Kagami walked out of the house.
"Kagamin!" Konata walked after her girlfriend. Miyuki looked guilty.
"I'm sorry... I didn't know that it would cause such trouble..." Miyuki said. Tony shrugged.
"I wouldn't think it would. Don't worry about it Miyuki." Tony said. Konata walked back in.
"I think Kagamin is mad at me. She doesn't want me to come with her." Konata sighed. "Kan-kan, could you go with her, just in case someone attack again?" Konata asked. Tony nodded.
"Yeah. I'll let you know if anything happens." Tony said. Konata nodded.
"Thanks." She said. Tony waved as he left.
"Any time Konata. Come on Tsukasa, maybe we can calm her down." Tony said, addressing his girlfriend. Tsukasa nodded, though not before shooting a sympathetic look to Miyuki as if to say "I get it." The both of them left. Konata sighed.
"Alright, so first, let's see what you got..." Konata said as she started with Miyuki while Masuta watched.
Outside Miyuki's House
Kagami walked away as Tony and Tsukasa caught up.
"Onee-chan!" Tsukasa said as she ran up to her sister. Kagami smiled at her sister.
"Hey Tsukasa." She said. Suddenly, she remembered her conversation with Konata from earlier in the day and blushed deeply. Tony walked up beside Tsukasa.
"Mine." He mouthed. Kagami sighed and nodded.
"What's up?" Kagami asked.
"Are you okay?" Tsukasa asked. Kagami sighed again and scratched the top of her head.
"Yeah. I know I'm overreacting, but it just made me mad." Kagami said. "I've been begging her to train me, but Miyuki just asks once and she gets an instant yes." Kagami said.
"Hey, maybe it's an "everybody gets one" kind of deal?" Tony chuckled.
"How do you figure?" Kagami asked.
"Well, we started training you as soon as you asked. Maybe Kon-kon wanted to help since Miyuki just asked?" Tony suggested. Kagami shrugged.
"Well, I'm not too mad I guess." Kagami said. "I do think I'll let Konata suffer a bit though." She grinned an evil grin. Tony chuckled.
"Knowing Kon-kon, she probably did something to deserve it, right?" Tony asked. Kagami nodded.
"Made me tell secrets and sit through horrible anime." Kagami said.
"Enough said." Tony said. "I can only imagine the evils in which you sat through. May God have mercy on your soul." Tony said.
"I'm gonna go home then." Kagami said. "See what the family is up to." She said. "What are you guys gonna do?" Kagami asked. Tony shrugged.
"Any ideas on where you wanna go or what you wanna do Tsukasa?" Tony asked. Tsukasa shrugged.
"I dunno! We'll think of something to do." Tsukasa said. Tony nodded.
"Alrighty. I guess we'll see you later Kagami." Tony said.
"I guess I'll see ya later guys." Kagami smiled and waved. Tsukasa hugged her sister around the neck.
"Bye Onee-chan, I'll see you later." Tsukasa said. Kagami smiled and hugged her sister back.
"See ya later Tsukasa." She said. The twins separated and the couple went a separate way from Kagami.
Luckier Channel
"Luckier~ Channel~!" Akira shouted. "Hiya Luckies~! I'm your navigator, Akira Kogami~!" Akira said.
"And I'm the navigator, Minoru Shiraishi!"
"There was a lot of fighting in this chapter, wasn't there?" Akira asked. Minoru stared at her for a moment. Akira fidgeted. "They were almost killed again!" She said. Minoru stared still. Akira glared blankly at him. "Hey. Talk." Akira said.
"So we're not talking about what happened?" Minoru asked.
"No, we're not." Akira said. Minoru asked.
"Yeah, this was the first time we got to see Hachiman really go at it!" Minoru said. Akira nodded.
"Man it was so~ scary~!" She put her hands to her cheeks and shook her head. "..." She looked over to see Minoru staring at her. "Stop staring at me, you damn lolicon." Akira growled. Minoru sighed.
*Music Tone*
"I guess that's all the time we have for today~! Man, that was barely anything at all~!" Akira complained. "I guess we'll se..." She glared at Minoru until he stopped staring at her. "See you next time. Bye-nii." She said.
"..."
"What the hell is your problem?"
"My problem? Why are you pretending nothing happened?"
"Because nothing DID happen!"
"That's nothing for you?"
"Yeah."
"Well it was something for me."
"Guh! ... Damn lolicon..."
