Rayne's Point of View
After speaking with Lincoln I had quickly returned to Bellamy's and my room to find him lying in the bed without his shirt on. "It's like you're trying to make sleep an impossible task, Mr. Blake."
He chuckled rolling over on the bed to look at me, perching his head up on his hand. He smiled motioning for me to join him. Pulling off my own clothing I climbed into the bed with him nuzzling up into his arms my head on his chest.
"What did he say?" Bellamy asked me as he kissed my forehead and began playing with my hair.
"That there is nothing we can do to stop them from attacking us. Well there is one thing; and neither Raven or Clarke will let it happen." I told him.
"Finn." He said calmly as I nodded against his chest.
"Bells, the things Lincoln told us that his people will do to him are just… they are horrible… barbaric things. I can understand them killing him but this mindless torture, that is just too much…" I explained.
"Finn told me he is willing to go to the grounders if it means keeping this camp safe, and getting our friends back from the mountain."
I felt my heart sink; "Babe, I know you, Clarke and Abby will find a way to keep Finn safe." He told me.
"And what if we can't, what if keeping him alive gets us all killed… I know it's terrible to even think but is it really worth us all dying to protect him. Lincoln said it best; Their Commander would hand one of her people over to an enemy had they done wrong to keep the mass of her people safe. Why wont we do the same?"
I felt him nod, "I don't want to admit it either because Finn is our friend but, given to them or staying with us… he does need to answer for his crime. If their methods for righting the wrongs is so horrible than we should mercy kill Finn to save him from that fate."
"Bellamy, I don't want him to die. I don't, but we don't all deserve to die for what he did… not after all the fighting it took to get here."
"Baby, get some sleep. I promise in the morning we will talk with Finn, Clarke and Raven. We will all figure it out." I smiled against his chest.
"I love you." I told him softly kissing his bare chest.
"I love you two." He said as he kissed the top of my head.
"I love you three." I giggled softly.
"And I love you more." He said tickling me slightly.
"We are far to corny for the public sometimes." I smiled as Bellamy and moved himself so that he was supporting himself over top of me.
"It's these moments I will cherish till the day I die, Rayne. I never want to forget a single one of them." He told me as he lowered himself to kiss me softly on the lips.
"Me either." I told him as I pulled him down over top of me.
SPACE
The next morning Bellamy shook me awake as he had already begun to get dressed, looking up at him confused he seemed to be in a bit of a rush. I quickly followed his lead getting dressed; "What's going on?" I asked him.
"Something's going on outside, the grounders are doing something." He told me as I nodded rushing out of our room till we reached the exit of the massive crashed Ark piece. It was loud chanting, "Their saying it… over and over." I told Bellamy as I felt him take my hand.
"Blood must have blood…" He said calmly again.
"There's Clarke and Finn." I told him pointing off at the two that where now storming towards us and the entrance of the ship.
"Ray, Bellamy." Clarke said as we both followed her back into the ship and most likely towards a place that was supposed to keep Finn safe.
Once we had made sure Finn was safe Clarke ran off to get Abby as Bellamy and I armed ourselves and made our way outside of the ship to where the entire guard was. Byrne had made sure all the civilians where inside the drop ship incase of an attack. These people where talking about how they needed Finn to right the wrong of innocents killed and yet they killed my father for doing nothing wrong.
"They're trying to scare us." Bellamy said snapping me from my thoughts.
"I think we should pull back and go inside the station." Abby said as I looked over at Clarke shaking my head no. We did that before when we faced an army of grounders, it really only showed them our weaknesses.
"No." Clarke said after nodding at me, turning her attention back to her mother. "We need to prove we're not afraid."
"What is I am?" I heard Abby say after turning around. "Fake it." I called out to Abby as I turned around and winked at her causing both her and Clarke to crack a smile.
Abby soon walked right past us followed by Clarke, Bellamy and I. The four of us made our way to the gate, I wasn't entirely sure what it was that Abby was doing. Or even thinking at this point and apart of me told me that Clarke herself wasn't even on the same page as her mom. Which kind of scared me, I had to admit.
"Open the gate." Abby ordered as they began to do exactly that. Leading Abby out to where the two grounders on horseback had stayed since they brought Clarke back from the Commander's tent.
"Where's the boy?" The one grounder said looking at the three of us standing behind Abby.
"We're not giving him up." Abby explained. "We're ready to fight, if that's what it comes to." Once she had said so the two riders turned their horses around heading back into the forest.
Bellamy placed one of his hands on my back leading me to turn my head to look at him. This was it, we would have to brace for the worst. The Commander must have seen us send the riders away empty handed. Soon their arrows laced with poison, and their perfect aim with their spears would black out the sky.
"Watch the woods! Watch for movement!" Bellamy called out to them as he looked at me begging for me to rush back into the station for safety. Knowing full well I would never do such a thing.
"Bellamy, Rayne." Clarke said softly. I looked over at her curiously as she placed her hand around my wrist with anticipation. "Movement on the tree line!" A man yelled out.
"Don't shoot!" A voice called out to us from the trees. "Don't shoot!" A voice had called again as I watched my father walk out from behind the massive fallen trunks near the forest line.
"Dad…" I managed to say as I pushed past both Bellamy and Clarke, running past Abby as I rushed towards my dad not caring if he was just a trap to lure us out of the camp or not.
Once I reached him I wrapped my arms around his waist as he wrapped his own around my shoulders resting his head on top of my own head. I felt his warm tears drop onto my hair as he brushed the top of it with his thumb. "You're safe." He said softly.
"You're alive." I replied.
"I will have to thank Bellamy for keeping you safe… never thought I would see the day those words would leave my mouth." He softly chuckled moving the tears from the skin under my eyes after moving away from me.
"I am so sorry I am such a pain." I sobbed lightly.
"You're a Kane, regardless of your mothers married name you are my daughter. We're pains." He told me allowing me to smile whilst giggling.
Once we reentered the gate Bellamy moved closer to me pulling me close to him, "Please, babe don't do something like that again. I was afraid they would shoot you." He told me as I kissed his lips softly.
"He's alive Bellamy… my dad…" I told him as he smiled kissing my cheek.
"Marcus…" I heard Abby's voice began to trail off.
"Chancellor." My father answered her.
"I was afraid that I wouldn't see you again, we all were." She said quickly coming up with the last part. "Bellamy kept her safe…" She added.
"I know he did." He said looking over at Bellamy who stood there nervously. "And I had those fears myself, Abby." He told her.
He looked around walking over to me placing his arm around both myself and patted Bellamy on the back, nodding his head at him in thanks. "It's good to see this place again."
"We can't be out in the open." Bellamy explained to Abby and Marcus. "We need to get somewhere safe."
My dad smiled softly, his eyes tired, redness now completely visible to me. There was bruising under his eyes and around his mouth yet he couldn't look happier dispute the treatment he had received. "It's safe for the moment." He told us.
"Come on. We need to talk." He told Abby as both Bellamy and Clarke looked over at me confused. "I managed to buys us a bit of time."
"All right, close it up! Let's go!" One of the guardsmen yelled.
"Something seems off…" I said slowly as Clarke nodded at me in agreement. "Yea, way off." She responded as the three of us jogged off to follow Clarke's mom and my dad off into the station.
Standing inside the station for what felt like hours waiting for our parents to come out and explain what was going on. "Do you think you're dad was tortured into their will?" She asked me. As Raven soon walked over to join us in the hopes something helpful would be said. Raven was on edge and in my opinion should have been far away from this situation.
"I really hope not." I sighed leaning against a wall. "I was hoping, my dad and your mom would agree to keep Finn safe." I told her softly.
"They will." Bellamy said as he kissed my forehead.
"We have to get Finn out of here regardless, the people in the camp aren't just going to wait around much longer for the your parents to make up their minds." He added as both Clarke and I looked at one another.
"He's right Clarke; we need to start making plans to keep him safe. Even though keeping him safe could mean killing everyone else… I just—" Clarke stopped me.
"There is a chance if the grounders know he isn't in the camp they will focus their efforts on looking for him instead of watching the village. The Commander will know I lead him away maybe knowing that she will make peace with the camp and look for us." She explained.
"A chance…" I mused, "We need more than a chance, we could be potentially killing everyone in this camp."
She nodded, "Yea… you're right." She sighed as left the hallway to go look for Finn. Not to long after the doors opened revealing her mother walking out. I moved my head to look beyond Abby in hopes to see my father.
He was however still in the room with his head down as Jaha seemed to stand there talking to him about something. Clarke and Finn had told us how Jaha lost it, trying to throw the three of them into a jail for simply trying to broker peace with the grounders rather than running away. Nuts.
"What's happening?" Raven piped up.
Abby just continued to walk ignoring Raven; "You were in there a long time." Bellamy added as she just continued to walk, "There was a lot to talk about."
"Well, what's going on?" Raven pressured again.
"Hey. We are not turning him over to the grounders." Bellamy told her as I looked over to him arching my brow.
"Step aside now." Abby ordered as Bellamy moved away from Abby stepping closer to me as I was had kept our distance. Abby then turned her attention over to Raven. "We're all trying to find a way out of this." She said as she side stepped the two of them and continued on walking down the hallway.
"They're gonna give him up." Bellamy said softly to Raven and I.
"We should have seen that coming." I muttered as I noticed Raven nodded.
Soon enough Bellamy and I soon walked into the room Finn and Clarke had been waiting in for the past few hours. "Finn." Bellamy announced to him as I made my way over to Clarke. "We have to go." I whispered to her softly.
"You need to get out of here." Bellamy quickly told Finn as Bellamy handed him his pack. Clarke looked over at me strange as I handed her, her own pack.
"Where would he go?" She exclaimed to us.
"The drop ship." Bellamy and I said in unison.
"No! You know that this is the safest place for him right now." Clarke began to protest.
"It's far from safe, Clarke." I told her as Bellamy nodded. "It isn't if they're turning on him." He told her.
"We can protect him at the dropship." He continued as we all started walking down a hallway. "Just until we figure this thing out." I added in.
"Grab the rest of your gear and meet at Raven's gate in 5." Bellamy continued to explain much to Clarke's protests.
"She's already working on cutting the power to the fence with Wick." I told her.
"Ok, but nobody's coming with me." Finn told us.
I looked over at Bellamy shaking my head at him, after nodding at me he walked in front of Finn to stop him. "No, That isn't up for discussion."
"We are surrounded by grounders." Clarke countered.
"Exactly Clarke and Finn is surrounded by enemy's here too." I told her.
"If we can split up, we take the low ground, we'll make it through." Bellamy attempted to reason with Clarke.
"We can all meet at the dropship." I finished saying for him as he grinned.
"There he is!" One of the men from early shouted from down the hall, gaining the attention of the four of us. "You are gonna get us killed" He said carrying an object in his hand as he approached with a small group.
Bellamy once again pushed me behind him as I noticed Finn do the same with Clarke. I was chalking this up to something guys do to the woman they love and care for. The man began to raise the weapon in his hand as Bellamy with one swift movement knocked him in the face with the butt of his gun causing the man to collapse to the ground.
"Anyone else?" He asked the shaken group of men before him.
Clarke looked at me fear struck in her eyes, "Bellamy and Rayne are right. We have to go." She told Finn as she reached her hand out to grab his.
"Bellamy." I said softly as I placed my hand on his shoulder, "Let's go we have to get ready." I told him.
"Yea, sorry." He said his voice a little spaced out.
Bellamy and I went back to our room to gather the last few items we would need before heading out. "We should get going now." Bellamy said to me as I nodded my head following him out of the station.
"Everything ok Bells?" I asked him as he turned to me slightly.
"Of course what do you mean?" He arched his brow.
"Well, since you hit that man you've been… distant… like you look spaced." I explained.
"Sorry; it's just what we talked about the other day. About how maybe giving him up to save everyone else might be a good thing I mean we know he would go willingly." He told me.
"Yes but we also know Clarke and Raven wouldn't let him get past his room's door to try." I chuckled.
"True enough." He mirrored my laughter. "Ray, please promise me you will stick as close to me as possible till we get to the dropship… I don't know what I would do if I lost you." He told me.
"I wont leave your side." I said moving up to kiss his cheek.
Once we reached the gate and we all began to climb out. I looked over at Raven making sure no one could hear me except for her. "Did you invite him?" I asked her as she nodded, "Of course I did." She said her voice sounding a lot darker than I'd have liked to hear from her as I was about to make my way out into the dark grounder infested forest.
