Rayne's Point of View

Raven was the last to leave for the obvious reason that Murphy was her partner for the trip through the woods to the dropship, Clarke being with Finn and Bellamy being with myself. Once we'd cleared the immediate area Bellamy took me by the hand running towards the tree line in hopes no scouting grounders saw us.

This whole running through the woods thing felt all too familiar, it was like this was all we seemed to do anymore. Run through the woods to escape someone, run through the woods to find someone. I wanted a day of peace where Bellamy and I could just enjoy life together. I was always so worried with the way things were going that one day we would just end.

God if Octavia heard me think that she'd probably slap me and tell me how stupid I was. That Bellamy loved me, which I know. That he and I were soul mates, which I supposed was true. Even mildly doubting that would merit a slap from Octavia… Clarke too actually now that I was thinking about it.

"Duck, I think I see a scout." Bellamy's voice snapped me from my thoughts as I ducked down behind a massive overturned tree trunk.

"Where?" I whispered to him.

He pulled me closer to him so that I was between his legs on the ground, my back to his chest as he pointed up along a ridge not to far from where we were. There was a grounder moving about in the area, I nodded my head at him. "Why isn't that grounder armed?" I asked him.

"He is look, bow and arrow on their back." He told me.

Oh yea their famous poisoned arrows, something we as a group where all too familiar with. The amount of times we needed to find a way to cure ourselves from some sort of poison. "He's gone…" Bellamy whispered.

"Is that a good thing?" I asked him as he helped me stand up.

"It's a good thing if I'm the grounder that has been tracking you." We heard a soft voice say from behind Bellamy.

The both of us turned around slowly to see a bow fully extended with an arrow mounted to it, pointed directly at us. Lincoln's sister was the one behind the draw string staring at the two of us intently, anger fuming through her eyes.

"Nova…" I questioned her.

"Why are you protecting him? We had given you a fair offer." She said to us.

"He is our friend, Clarke's—" She cut me off with a snappy response.

"I don't care if Clarke is in love with him; he murdered many of my people in cold blood. Just to find her. If the four of you hadn't shown up I would stake life on him killing the entire village myself and John included."

Bellamy sighed; "You're right, if we didn't show up he would have killed your entire village. Now that he isn't in our camp, I would stake my life on him giving himself to your people." He told her as I arched my brow at him.

"Bells?" I questioned.

"I've seen it in his eye since the first confrontation with our own people. He will not let all of them die for him, he loves Clarke but he wouldn't see her suffer just to stay alive a few moments longer than the rest of us." He explained.

He then turned his attention back to the grounder; "If you want to see John again, I would suggest you not follow us to the dropship… don't be the grounder to take Finn in… don't." He told her as she seemed to stiffen at the thought of not seeing Murphy.

"My people are already closing in on your dropship, and by the time he reaches it. By the time you reach it, you will be surrounded. The Commanders orders are to kill anyone protecting him outside your camp. However I will tell them to wait till Finn gives himself up." She told us as Bellamy thanked her.

She looked at me taking in a deep breath, "I think had you and I met in the Mountain rather than Clarke and I things would have panned out much differently for us… peace would have been achieved without the need for bloodshed." She said turning around looking for a direction to take.

"What makes you say that?" I asked her.

"He." She said pointing at Bellamy. "Seems to love you with his heart and mind. Something my people call a mating bond… it's a union between two that is unmatched… by the way he seems to act around you by my counts… tells me he wouldn't have massacred a village to find you."

I smiled softly, "I'll tell Murphy we saw you… thank you Nova."

She nodded, "I will see John soon enough, however thank you anyway." The two of us just stood there and watched as the grounder bolted off back into the shadows of the woods.

"She is a lot more intense than Lincoln." I piped up as the two of us continued our journey back to the dropship.

"It's her eyes; Lincoln's are very soft… kind. His sister has ferocity about her, this look of hunger in her eyes. She just seems like she is far more concerned for her people than he is… guess it makes sense that she is their Commander's second in command. I wouldn't want to cross either of them…" He explained, a little too passionately for my liking.

"Sounds like someone has a crush on Lincoln's sister." Raven's voice popped up as we walked into the dropship.

"No, I have my hands full. His sister scares me… she's a dangerous girl… that only makes me think she'd do anything at the drop of a hat if asked." He told her back causing me to grin.

I sat down on one of the few chairs that had been left in the dropship as Bellamy and Raven argued over who would go out first to see if they could find Finn and Clarke. Raven of course lost the fight because of course 'Rayne needs me here' is the new way of winning an argument.

As soon as she was gone Bellamy had lifted me to my feet pulling me close to him in an embrace. I felt his body tense against mine as he stroked my hair before moving his hand down to rub circles into my back. "Everything ok, Bells?" I asked him.

"Yea, I'm just scared… what if Finn doesn't give himself up… we could die today… this could be the last time I get to hold you." He added.

"I would rather die in your arms and fighting for our lives than alone in the camp." I told him as he grinned kissing me softly on my lips.

"He'll do what's right; I hate to see him go… I don't want him to die, but if he doesn't we all die and than we will never rescue our friends." He said I nodded.

"I checked twice still no sign of them." Raven said as she burst back into the room.

"Where are they?" Huffed Bellamy as he looked over at me with concern in his eyes, if the grounders caught Clarke with Finn would they take him and leave her? Nova didn't seem to be on good terms with Clarke from what I saw.

"Maybe we shouldn't have split up." Raven said remorsefully.

"He's with Clarke I'm almost positive he is fine." I told her as she smiled before she begun to crack her knuckles in frustration.

Bellamy pushed me behind him again as I looked over to Raven in frustration as she just mouthed sorry to me; "Someone's coming." Bellamy said explaining his actions.

I watched behind him as a shadow started to crawl up the front of the drop ship. It was at a moment like this I didn't mind being stuck behind Bellamy. I started to noticed the outline of the shadow to be similar to our own, not tall and stalky. "Gun down Bellamy." I said softly.

He ignored me and kept the gun held up at the entrance as Murphy entered his eyes moving from me to the gun, back to me. "Whoa, Hey, hey, hey." He said raising his hands up in defense.

"Murphy?" He said confused as he looked back at me skeptically. "What're you doing here? Did you ask him to come?" He asked me.

"Technically she didn't." Murphy said slowly, "However I believe I was invited." He said standing before us as I smiled over to him.

"Rayne and I thought we could use an extra gun." Raven explained to Bellamy.

"I'm sure." Was Bellamy's first response… was he really jealous of Murphy? The guy who was literally claimed by Lincoln's sister? Heavens sake… "Might be a good idea… good call." He said kissing me on the side of the head.

"Finn should've been right behind you." She spat at Murphy.

Murphy scoffed "Don't worry. The spacewalkers gonna be fine."

"Hey Murphy." I said making my way over to him after he'd moved to the other side of the room. "What's up Ray?" He asked as he leaned against the wall.

"Bellamy and I we ran into your grounder friend… Nova on the way here." I told him as he moved away from the wall and closer to me excitedly. "Did she say anything about me?" He asked.

I arched my brow, "I mean what did she want…" He sighed.

"She said she was going to come see you soon, you must have made an impression on her… she's Lincoln's sister you know." I told him as he nodded.

"Yea I know, she's actually really nice… I wouldn't have made it in their captivity without her. She's quite the girl." He told me.

"She seems really nice." I told him, I opened my mouth to say something else when someone rushed into the dropship making a lot of noise as both Finn and I turned to see what was going on.

"What happened?" Bellamy asked as I realized it was Finn and Clarke.

Or well it was Finn carrying a very hurt and very unconscious Clarke in his arms. I rushed over to the two of them with Murphy, "A grounder hit her on the head." Finn explained.

"What?" I said angrily that Nova would tell us she would be safe only to turn around and let her get injured.

"Sit here Rayne." Murphy instructed me, "Right, put her head on my lap we need to keep her head elevated." I instructed them as the nodded while complying with me.

"I'm going to need a bandage. Some sort of cloth a rag…. Anything." I told them quickly my voice coming off rushed and panicky.

"Got it." I heard Murphy say as he brought over a cloth.

"Here." He said handing me the cloth as both Raven and Finn moved away from Clarke. Bellamy and Murphy on the other hand sat on either side of me waiting for some sort of instructions.

"Murphy hold her head, like this." I said to him showing him how to help me elevate her.

"Clarke, can you hear me?" Bellamy asked her. "Clarke." I repeated as she opened her eyes a small bit before she slowly shut them falling back to sleep.

"You're gonna be fine." Bellamy told her calmly. "Just rest hun." I told her as I looked up at him.

"She defiantly has a concussion." I announced to everyone, "She will be fine we just need to let her rest and give her some space."

It was like the only two listening to me where Bellamy and Murphy as right after I said it Finn rushed out of the dropship followed by Raven. "She'll be fine?" Murphy asked as I nodded, "Yes, we just need to make sure we have water for her when she wakes up."

Once Finn and Raven returned from their adventure outside the dropship I traded places with them. Telling her to keep a light bit of pressure on her head, and that once she woke up to give her the water.

I left and went outside with Murphy and Bellamy to watch the perimeter. We had ended up telling Murphy what we told Nova about how we were going to wait it out till Finn gave him self up because we knew he was going to. He would do it to protect Clarke that much was obvious.

Raven soon joined us outside taking position across the yard from Bellamy, Murphy and I. I began to look around us noticing in the woods there was a ton of movement. "Bells… look." I whispered to him pointing at random breaks in the walls we'd built long ago.

"We got company! Get out here." He yelled back to Finn.

Finn and Clarke soon made their ways out of the dropship standing there in the open. "Get down. Grounders." Bellamy told them quickly as the two of them made their way to the side of the yard Raven was taking point on.

Bellamy, Murphy and I spread apart a small bit just to cover more ground even though we were still only arms length apart from each other. The grounders continued to move around us, taunting us ever so slightly. "I thought you said Nova wasn't going to let them attack?" Murphy mumbled to me.

"They are trying to bait Finn out." I said back to him.

"We're surrounded." I heard Clarke say from the other side of the bank.

We had all quickly made our way back into the dropship to attempt coming up with a plan of attack against the grounders surrounding the dropship. We knew we would either die or be taken prisoner in the attempt to keep Finn safe here. The only other option being he gives himself up which Bellamy, Murphy and I all knew wouldn't happen as long as Raven and Clarke were here.

Speaking of Bellamy and Murphy they where by the entrance keeping watch on the grounders outside. "They're not moving any closer." Murphy said from the door.

"Staying out of range." Bellamy responded too him. "That buys us at least some time." I whipped out as I sat down on the chair near by.

"Probably waiting until it's dark." Bellamy continued as he made his way over to me.

"If we hit them now, at least we'd take them by surprise." Murphy added.

"We don't even know how many of them are out there." Clarke began to say, "At least a hundred Clarke… easy." I told her as she sighed.

"I'm not hearing any better ideas, Clarke." Murphy scoffed turning his head to look at her. "We'll give them something." Raven spat out from the other side of the room.

"All they want is Finn." Bellamy told her as I stood up in between Bellamy and Murphy.

"Finn wasn't the only one at the village." Raven explained as I shook my head. "What are you talking about? Nova was there too Raven, she is the Commander's most credible witness too attack." Clarke told her as I nodded.

"Raven, hold on." Bellamy started to say.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa." Murphy began backing up, "Raven, I came here to protect him. "You and Rayne were the ones who wanted me to come…" He said looking over at me as I shook my head to tell him this wasn't what I had in mind. "You—" He started to say as I watched his eyes lead towards Finn and Raven.

Raven's eyes had grown dark and full on this blood lust growing inside them. "That's why you asked me to come along." Murphy's voice filled my ears. "I know Rayne wanted me to come so I could have a use to the group again… but you… this?" He asked. "Really?"

"Enough grounders saw him at the village. They'd believe he was the shooter." Raven continued.

"Sick bitch." Murphy said slowly.

"All except for Nyko and Nova… both whom the Commander trusts and believes… and with Nova having feelings for Murphy, there is no way she would let him take the fall for it Raven."

"She might." She continued.

"She wouldn't Raven, that grounder is not one to mess around with, she is just as ruthless and unforgiving as their Commander." Bellamy added.

"She watched him…." Clarke softly added in.

"You know what they do to people." Bellamy continued.

"They want a murderer, we'll give them one." Raven said as she cocked her gun and aimed it at Murphy. "Drop your gun." She told him.

"If you think they will let you give them Murphy you are insane… Nova is out there with them. She will just take Murphy as a prize, they will still want Finn." I said to her my words seemingly stinging her.

"You defend him when he almost killed your little boyfriend." She snapped at me.

"Almost yes, and he has had his dues more than enough times Raven. If we send him out there, she will not accept it. They don't want Murphy they want Finn, so rather than trying to pin the whole thing on Murphy let's find a way to save Finn." I snapped at her.

"Shut up Rayne, no one asked you! No one ever… asks you!" She screamed at me. "I said drop it!" She shouted at Murphy again.

Bellamy, Clarke and I just stood there watching her in disbelief as Murphy made his way towards her pressing the barrel to his chest. "Go to hell, Raven." He spat at her.

"Put it down Raven, like it or not, he is one of us. Rayne is one of us, what has happened to you…" Clarke said trying her best to stand up for me as I gave her a weak smile.

"I said drop it." Raven said ignoring Clarke.

"Stop! Stop!" Finn finally intervened with Raven as he stepped in between Murphy and the gun-forcing Raven to lower it to her side and shake her head at Finn.

"We're not doing this." He scolded Raven, "They've got us surrounded. The only thing we can do is stay and defend this place."

Bellamy looked over at me as I nodded to him, "We're with you." He told Finn.

Clarke, Raven and Murphy all nodded their heads in agreement that we would all stay and attempt defending this place. All I knew is that we were running out of time and Nova was likely running out of patients with us.

"Murphy…" Finn said as I noticed the soft glaze of tears in his eyes. I didn't blame him for wanting to cry; he came here trying to prove himself to Bellamy. Trying to show he's changed and instead Raven attempts to force him to take Finn's place at the axe.

"Yea…" Murphy said as his voice broke. "Go upstairs. Watch the rear." Finn suggested to keep him away from Raven.
