Again I'm sorry for the wait on this, and sorry it's not that long, but I'm trying to find my way back to this story. Enjoy please!

Sarah had long since taken off Cosima's glasses. They now dangle on her waistband as she walks slowly through the dark, foggy maze. She stopped jogging about ten minutes ago, the maze seeming to be endless. She wiped at the sheen of sweat on her forehead as she turned into yet another dead end.

"Shite…" She cursed as she turned around for the umpteenth time. She didn't even know where she was going anymore.

As she turned yet another corner, she gasped as she almost bumped into the largest spider she had ever seen. She quickly shuffled away from the creature, hoping whatever it was eating would be enough to occupy it long enough to creep by. She cursed internally as she realized that the spider was blocking her only exit.

She shakily pulled out her wand, hoping she knew a spell powerful enough to at least distract it. She shuffled through all the spells she learned over the past three years as she peered around the corner once more, jumping back as she saw the spider coming closer.

Pressing herself into the wall, she remembered one spell they learned at the beginning of the year. Cosima had taught it to her to use when she encountered a spider, albeit much smaller than the one around the corner. She prayed that it would work as she turned the corner once more, eyeing the enormous spider. Lifting her wand, she pointed it steadily at the hideous creature:

"Arania Exumai!" she shouted resolutely as a bright blue ray of light shot out of her wand. The spider was blown backwards, landing several meters away while Sarah took that chance to run.

Cosima's leg bounced as she stared intensely at the floorboards. Where was Sarah now? How long will this challenge take? What the hell is in there with her? She froze as she heard a high-pitched scream, grabbing Alison's hand in the process.

Alison rested her hand on Cosima's back, rubbing it soothingly. She knew she blamed herself for Sarah being in there, but she was tired of explaining that Sarah will do what Sarah wants. She sighed softly.

"It wasn't her, right?"

"Pardon?"

Cosima's leg resumed bouncing, "I mean, Sarah's not a screamer, she's a yeller, you know? She- she wouldn't scream like that, it was probably Fleur."

Alison wrapped her arm around Cosima's shoulder, tugging herself closer, "Right. Sarah's a yeller. That was Fleur."

"God, it would help if I could fucking see something!" Cosima exclaimed angrily.

Alison panicked and looked around, "Keep your voice down Cosima! I understand you're upset but if anyone hears you-"

"Yeah, yeah..." Cosima muttered waving her off. She crossed her arms as her eyes focused on the floor again. She was starting to get a headache by looking out at the maze too much. She scratched at her scalp through Sarah's thin plaid jacket. She continued thinking about Sarah and what she would be facing in this final task. She imagined how she could possibly fare against 7th year difficulties. She sighed as put her head in her hands. She was getting a headache by thinking too.

"Hello."

Cosima's head snapped up as she heard a familiar soft voice, smiling brightly when she locked eyes with her girlfriend.

"Hello Delphine," Alison said tensely.

"Hello Alison, Sarah." Delphine said, nodding to the both of them.

Cosima's smile dropped, she forgot she was supposed to be undercover. Pulling her hoodie farther over her hairline, she hunched over.

"'Ey, Frenchie," she muttered.

"I think Cosima is doing pretty well. I just saw her knock out an acromantula," Delphine said proudly.

"A-Acromantula?" Cosima stuttered as she squinted back at the maze

Delphine looked at her, nodding slowly, wondering why this seemed like news, "Yes, it just happened a moment ag- can you not see?"

Cosima looked back at her, the question seemingly startling her, "Ah, no, I didn't see it," she said scratching at her scalp once more.

Delphine's brow furrowed as she recognized the nervous tick, and frowned and took in a breath to speak, but thought better of it as she moved to sit next to the frazzled girl. She tapped Scott on the shoulder, drawing his attention away from his friends, "Scott, do you mind if I-"

"Oh! No not- not at all," he blurted as he laughed nervously.

"Thank you," Delphine said as she gave him a smile. She turned to Cosima, who was visibly sweating at this point. "What are you doing?"

"Uh… Wot?" Cosima exaggerated.

"Do you think I'm dumb enough not to recognize my own girlfriend?" Delphine asked leaning in closer, "What are you doing here?"

Cosima sighed as she relaxed, "Sorry, mademoiselle, I had no idea she was gonna do this."

"Do what?"

"She slipped me a sleeping potion last night in the form of a very appetizing cupcake," Cosima said ashamedly.

Delphine chuckled before recovering, "No that is not funny," she said firmly, "I'm partly relieved you're here, but you could get in very serious trouble."

"Yeah, I know that, but apparently rules don't apply to Sarah's way of life."

"How many people know?"

"Just me, you, Alison and Scott," she said scooting closer to Delphine, "Oh, and Sarah, obvs."

Delphine nodded, then gasped as she remembered what occurred earlier that day, "Merde…" she muttered embarrassingly, putting her head in her hands.

"What?" Cosima asked as Delphine shook her head. "What?" she pressed, gently tugging on the girl's wrist. Delphine lifted her head allowing Cosima to take her hand in hers.

"I kissed your sister earlier,"

"What? When?" Cosima near shouted.

"Earlier before the ceremonies, I was hoping to catch you before it started." Delphine rubbed her forehead, "I guess I was so excited I was not paying attention to see if it was actually you. I'm so sorry ma chérie, I- what are you laughing at?"

"You!" Cosima said holding her stomach, "You're so cute. You kissed my sister? Did she like it? Did you use tongue?"

"No!"

"No she didn't like it,' or 'No you didn't use tongue?"

"Both!"

"Damn," Cosima said, rubbing her sore abdomen, "I hope you made it as awkward as possible for her, the bitch."

"I told her I loved her."

Cosima smiled, raising her hand. Delphine rolled her eyes and chuckled, slapping the girl's palm."

"I knew there was a reason I liked you."

"How are you feeling?" Delphine inquired, putting her hand to her forehead. Cosima grabbed it and held it in her lap.

"I'm better, but apparently not well enough to compete according to Sarah."

"I'm glad."

Cosima hummed as she squinted towards the maze on the Quidditch pitch.

"I'm glad she did this for you," Delphine said bluntly.

Cosima's head snapped back towards her girlfriend, "Excuse me?"

"It's… a very… physical challenge. I do not think you would have done as well as you think-"

"I still know a lot more spells than she does. She's not gonna be able to fight off that many monsters, let alone the other players in the maze." Cosima put her head in her hands, "Ugh, this is a nightmare."

Delphine leaned down to whisper in Cosima's ear, "She has gotten through every obstacle so far. Give her credit. I'm sure she will pull through."

"I'll try."

Sarah stumbled forward as she emerged from the thick shroud of golden mist. She stayed on the floor, eyes shut, until the world turned rightside up again, feeling dizzy and nauseous. She remained on the ground, trying to find her bearings before she heard a small sputter and sizzle. Groaning, she pushed herself up and lazily turned the corner.

"Ah, bloody hell…"

There, she saw a larger-than-usual blast-ended skrewt, a creature she had seen her first year, fortunately for her. Unfortunately however, this skrewt was now the size of a horse.

Sarah tiredly held out her wand once more. She thought about using the kill curse on it, but decided not to as that would stay on her conscious forever. What was that shrinking spell they learned this year? She regretted having ever skipped DADA classes.

As Sarah began to trudge towards the beast, she saw a flash of yellow, causing her to quickly press herself into the grassy hedge. Looking back towards the skrewt, she saw Cedric walk up to it confidently. Without it noticing, he flipped it over onto its back with an inaudible spell, and fired a jinx at its underside. Sarah watched through the tangle of bushes as Cedric walked away from the skrewt, still curling into itself, wand held out steadily.

She exhaled smoothly as Cedric walked past her, apparently not noticing she was there, and towards where the golden mist had appeared. She decided that if he had come from that direction, the cup couldn't be there. Gaining a second wind, she sprinted in the direction neither of them had gone.

"Cedric just beat the skrewt for her," Delphine reassured to Cosima, who had given up looking down at the maze at that point, and was just listening to her girlfriend's play-by-play.

"What did he use?"

"Impediment Jinx."

"Was she paying attention?" Cosima asked, straightening up.

"Yes, but it was… non-verbal."

"Shit…" Cosima said, rubbing her eye.

"She'll be alright," Alison reassured once more, "She's stronger than she looks. She's got better survival instincts than any of us."

Cosima sighed, "Yeah I guess."

"H-hold on," Delphine stuttered, "That's…"

Cosima turned to her girlfriend, who was still staring in awe at the maze, "What?"

"What the dickens is that?" Alison squeaked.

Cosima turned to her sister, "What? What is 'what'?"

"It's… uhm," Delphine cleared her throat, "It's a sphinx…"

"WHAT?" Cosima shouted. Delphine jumped and looked around before shushing the brunette. "Delphine, sphinxes ar-"

Delphine covered Cosima's mouth softly, "She isn't attacking. Not yet, it looks like they are talking."

Cosima sighed through Delphine's palm, triggering her release, "What are they talking about?"

"I gotta what?" Sarah asked the large creature.

The large sphinx sat back on its haunches, "Solve my riddle. Do that, and you will pass. If you answer wrongly, I will attack you. Or you can do neither and walk back the way you came, unscathed. You cannot hear the riddle and choose the latter without expecting a contest."

Sarah sighed, knowing that one way would lead back through the mist, and the other towards the skrewt, which would no doubt be awake and angrier than ever. She scratched at the itchy dreadlocks, "And you say this is the fastest way to the cup."

"Yes," The female assured.

Sarah sighed again, "Alright, what the hell. Let me hear it."

First think of the person who lives in disguise,

Who deals in secrets and tells naught but lies.

Next, tell me what's always the last thing to mend,

The middle of middle and end of the end?

And finally give me the sound often heard,

During the search for a hard-to-find word.

Now string them together and answer me this,

Which creature would you be unwilling to kiss

Sarah groaned. Why couldn't the polyjuice potion give her Cosima's brains too? She paced slightly as the sphinx smirked, "Bloody hell… unwilling to kiss…"

The sphinx sat silently as her tail waved, hazel eyes trained on the struggling girl.

Sarah scratched her chin… "Deals in secrets… what like a spy or sumthin'?" she inquired, "Oh! A spider?" Sarah exclaimed hopefully.

The sphinx grinned stepping out of the girl's way.

Sarah smiled and sprinted past her.

"She did it! She got past the sphinx!" Delphine exclaimed, grabbing Cosima excitedly.

Cosima struggled in her grasp, "Delphine- can.. Can you just-"

"Oh! Desoleé.."

Alison sat on the edge of her seat, "She's doing quite well, Cosima. She's close to the cup now."

Cosima straightened as well, "Is she? Where is everyone else?"

"Well-"

There was a gasp and a cheer from the Bulgarian crowd. Cosima looked around at the concerned Hogwarts and Beauxbatons students, "What's going on?"

"It's Krum," Delphine stated with a scowl, "He just turned away from the cup's direction and attacked Fleur." She scoffed. "Putain connard…"

"Why is he doing that?" Cosima said, taking her girlfriend's hand.

Alison shook her head, "I'm not sure.. He's acting quite strangely. It's almost like he doesn't want to win."

Cosima tightened her grip, "Is he going towards Sarah?"

"No… Cedric."

Sarah jumped as she heard a series of grunts seemingly right behind her. She turned around only to see a wall of green. With her wand at the ready, she slowly rounded the corner and saw Cedric dodging multiple spells.

"Krum! What are you doing?" He shouted desperately.

Sarah peeked her head further and saw Viktor ferociously conjuring spells at the poor Hufflepuff, and seeming to have no remorse at all for his actions.

Sarah debated in her head for a moment, whether or not she should help out her fellow Hogwarts student, but then what? Would he just guide her to the cup and say "Go on, take it?"

After seeing Cedric start to retaliate with spells of his own, she decided against helping him. Sarah managed to slip past the duo towards where Krum had seemed to come from. If there were any obstacles, she reasoned, he would have knocked them out. And maybe he missed something.

She was sprinting now. She turned right for what seemed like the 12th time before stopping to catch her breath. It couldn't be long now. Sarah wished she'd brought a watch. She had no concept of time but it had to be at least a couple of hours since she's walked through that first hedge. She started to jog again when she heard it.

It was a very high pitched sound, but in the stark silence of this labyrinth, she could probably hear the ants on the ground. This ringing was definitely new.

She shot off towards the sound, turning left at the first wall. It got softer, so she backtracked and turned right. Hearing it get louder gave her more drive than she could imagine, her legs moving faster than they ever have. A fairly large spider tried to surprise her, and for a second she thought about hexing it, before deciding for the umpteenth time that she didn't give a shit, and ran straight by it.

This time she saw it. The bright blue glow illuminating the hedges. She drifted around the corner and skid to a halt as she basked in the light of the Triwizard Cup. Sarah looked around strangely. Surely this was a setup. There's no way she found it before everyone else. It had to be a trick. She was only a third-year.

She slowly reached out to it. If this was a trick, she'd just have to deal with the consequences later. The thought of getting the hell out of that maze was just too appealing.

As she laid her fingertips on the handle, she felt something tug at her belly button before she disappeared with a crack.
