Bellamy's Point of View

Standing there holding the map in my hands that was supposed to be my guide once I was into the mountain. I felt like I hadn't slept in days, which is what I was sure life would feel like without her in it. Empty, meaningless and empty. I looked back to see that Lincoln was still kneeling on the ground behind me.

Turning around making my way back towards him after I had been staring at the mountain scape. "The mountain as many eyes, between here and the tunnels. From now on, details must be exact." He told me once I had reached him.

"What if we run into real reapers? Won't they wonder where you've been?" I asked him as I crouched down to his level.

"All they see is the red. Once you take it, nothing else matters, just how you'll get more."

Looking at him intently I sighed; "How much do you remember from when you were on it?"

He looked up at me not saying anything for what felt like a few minuets, "Everything." He had finally said as he stood up moving around me. "Turn around. "He seemed to command me, as he balanced the piece of wood along my shoulders. I put my hands on either side to steady it so he could tie my wrists to the wood.

"It's probably a good thing you didn't let Rayne come with us." Lincoln scoffed as he finished tying the rope around my wrists.

"Yea probably a good thing I didn't. She wouldn't be to fond of me being tied to a plank of wood." I chuckled.

"Well probably not like this anyway." Lincoln said punching me in the shoulder jokingly.

"Funny." I said sarcastically.

Lincoln had put a rope around my neck to make sure anyone that saw him figured he was leading me over us being in it together. The rain slowly started to fall making the walk down the side of the hill slippery. Felt more and more like I was being dragged versus walking along side him.

I looked up from the ground for what felt like the first time in an hour. Looking up I saw all the moss covered trees, sitting directly in front of the moss covered cave before me, as Lincoln seemed to just keep leading me towards the cave.

"This it?" I asked him as he turned around to look at me, when he didn't answer me I knew I still had to get his attention when we had stopped in front of the entrance. "Come on. Let's do this." I urged him.

Lincoln nodded looking back at the cave as we both began to walk into the cave further. The deeper into the cave we had gotten the more I became fearful of what was going to happen to Rayne and the others if I was going to fail. Murphy had promised me to keep an eye on Rayne and my sister and I could only hope he would put aside our past to keep them safe.

Rayne's Point of View

Standing next to my father as we were looking over at the grounders as they had began to fight each other, practicing their war tactics trying to show us their skills. Off in the distance our soldiers had been doing the same with target practice. I took in a deep breath as Octavia walked up along side my father and I while we where watching the grounders.

"Impressive, aren't they?" My father commented to us.

"Magnificent." I replied.

They had begun to flip each other over, knocking them to the ground. Punching each other, they seemed to be hurting each other almost on purpose like they where trying to toughen each other up. "What doesn't kill them, makes them stronger."

Octavia almost seemed to be even more so interested in the grounders as they fought. I knew Octavia felt like I did whenever they where around, and with Lincoln entering her life and us coming down here it just cemented those feelings for her. She never belonged to anything before in her life; she was finally finding a place she might belong. I wasn't going to tell her not to go for it either, if anyone deserved it she did.

"Who's next?" Indra asked.

"We are." Octavia said as she dropped her weapons on the ground walking past my father and grabbing my wrist dragging me towards the ring where the grounders where fighting.

"What are you doing?" I whispered to her harshly.

"We can do this; first step was you speaking up inside, now we need to show the grounders it wasn't all just talk." She told me as she stood there and readied herself.

A few of the grounders around us began to chuckle at the sheer attempt that we were even trying to join them. Octavia and I where standing next to Indra as she stood there with Nova staring out at their people. "We're supposed to train together, right?" Octavia told them as Indra looked over at Nova whose attention was very clearly somewhere else.

"Only warriors train here." Indra told her coldly as she looked away from Nova and back towards the group of grounders before us.

"We can't become warriors unless you train us. How else are we going to defend ourselves out there? " I asked her.

"You are not meant to be warriors." She responded again as Nova seemed to have left us.

"Who decided that? We want to learn Indra, we want to fight." I started to tell her as she turned to face me. "I want just as bad as you do to kill every single one of them in that mountain for what they did to our friends, and if what Nova and Clarke said about what their doing to your people is true… that drive to destroy them is only stronger." I told her feeling the anger flow through me.

"You should learn to channel that rage into something more than a well spoken speech." She told me with a smirk.

I had always hated talking to groups of people; it was always something I dreaded when we were in school and learning. Probably why I strived to join the medical field, not a whole lot of talking to large groups of people. "Rayne is one of our healers, one of the last few." I heard Octavia told her causing me to turn my head into their direction.

"What?" I said softly my voice still off in that daze.

"Healer?" Indra said looking at me, "We don't have healers with that much fight and heart. Well heart yes but a heart of a very different kind."

"Compassion?" I asked her, "It's not a weakness, and compassion and love are only weaknesses if you show your enemies that side of you." I told her as she nodded.

"Very true, Rayne." Indra told me. "As for you two training with my men—" Indra began to say as Octavia cut her off.

"I saved your life."

"And now I'm saving yours." Indra snapped at Octavia before moving away from the both of us.

"She can't do that." She told me angrily. "She can, but that doesn't mean we give up Octavia. You're right; speaking up to everyone earlier was only one of many steps towards showing the grounders who we are. We want them to see us beyond Clarke's demands and what she says and does then we have to start here and now." I told her as she smiled.

"Great." She told me with a grin, "So what're we going to do than?"

I looked over at her with a half smile; "No idea." I told her as she rolled her eyes, "I swear you where going to spout out something fantastic."

"I will, but any half decent working plan needs forethought." I told her.

She laughed softly linking her arm with me, "Than let's go plan."

Octavia and I had come up with a few ideas, training on our own which wouldn't work since neither of us had any real idea of what it was like to fight someone with the intent to cause harm. Sure we had both punched someone, or whatever but what the grounders where doing was something entirely different. I stood there lost in thought when I felt Octavia nudge my arm handing me some water.

"Bellamy would be proud of you, you know for taking a stance here in Camp 'Pretend we're united'." She told me as I took the cup and tried not to choke on the water as I had taken a sip.

"I really do hope he is safe." I told her.

"He's with Lincoln, of course he's safe. I just hope they both get in and out as quickly as possible." She sighed taking a sip of her own.

"I still with Nova was going with them, I don't understand why Clarke would tell Lexa it was a bad idea to send her with them… like why would she do that?" I argued with myself.

"Because Clarke lost her boyfriend, now it's apparently our turn to lose ours and getting Nova killed would only get her into trouble with the grounders. The could care less for Lincoln but they seem to care a great deal for his sister." She told me.

"Lincoln told me when she left the village with him; Indra was against her going with him. Said she was a child of prophecy and taking her was as much of a crime as the one he'd committed. Which is why Anya took them in, he said it was more to keep her safe than for his skills as a fighter." I looked at her as I nodded. " I wonder what she meant by prophecy…" I asked her.

"With them who knows but it could be connected to why the people in the mountain never hurt her like they did all their other people… I mean all they're other weird laws and histories were made up by things the mountain men have left for them." She said as I sighed.

"True enough." I looked over noticing the fighting hadn't stopped, nor had the gun training but I had noticed Murphy was outside walking along side Nova as the men where firing off rounds.

"I have to admit I'm a bit jealous Murphy found his place of belonging before I did." Octavia admitted.

"I think after all the torture us along with the grounders had put him through he deserves at least something good. You have Lincoln, I have Bellamy, and Clarke has her ego." I said as Octavia began to laugh.

"Yea guess you're right." She said as she led me away from where we had been standing. We moved so we where now sitting down, Octavia quickly drawing her sword so that she could sharpen it.

"We gotta get you one of these, or two I can see you duel wielding, Lincoln said that the Commander before the one they had duel wielded really cool blades and had a sword… he said she was also an excellent archer." I smiled at her.

"I love how into their history and culture you are O' it's literally amazing." I told her as she smiled at me. "I like that you are no longer afraid to come out of your shell." She teased.

"I was not that bad… was I?" I asked her as she nodded, "After all the fighting between you and Clarke it was like you decided to become a mouse."

"Great." I sighed, before giggling softly.

Indra started yelling as she rushed towards the three grounders that had made their way towards my father whom was holding a gun towards them to take. I quickly noticed Octavia shake her head as she scoffed. "What's up what does that mean?" I asked her.

"It's all right. I offered." Kane tried to explain.

"We don't need your weapons." I heard Indra growl at my father as I turned around and looked as Octavia seemed to just chuckle again. "Back to training, all of you." Indra commanded.

"Guns could keep them alive." My father commented to the guard. "It's like they're afraid of them."

"They are." Octavia said as both men turned to look at her same as I did, "Legend has it, if a grounder picks up a gun, even to shoot another grounder, Mount Weather will wipe out their entire village." She told us causing my mouth to visibly drop.

"Can't have your blood supply defending themselves, right?" She asked.

"If we don't arm them, we can't win." I heard my dad mumble, as I looked Octavia looked up at me shrugging.

The two of us stood up getting ready to walk back inside the ship. "Like hell, we can't." She said as she linked her arm with me leading us both away from the area. "You sure I should be trying to lead and not you?" I asked her with a stifled laugh.

She looked at me smirking; "I don't belong with these people, I wouldn't want to lead them."

"I don't either, I only found out Kane was my father after he felt bad and sent me to Earth, I belong with you and Bellamy." I told her as she grinned at me.

"Where did Nova go?" I questioned her randomly.

"She left with the traitor of your people and John Murphy of the Sky People." A grounder near by told us. I nodded as I watched the grounder wonder away from us.

"She left with Jaha and Murphy? That doesn't seem right." Octavia commented.

Once night had fallen Octavia had finally convinced me to join her in her mission to learn to fight along side the grounders. She loved her brother but she also had her doubts either of the men where going to be coming back to us. The more she said it to me the more I was starting to agree with her.

If Bellamy didn't come back I needed to find a place where she was going, a place that was safe where I could learn to protect myself. Bellamy always told the two of us that if he ever died we needed to stick together. I looked over at her as she motioned for me to follow her into the rain and towards where the grounders had been standing.

"Time for a few more?" Octavia asked Indra as she stepped in front of her and a large growing group of grounders.

"Step aside, Sky girls. We're hungry." She growled at us.

"So are we." I snarled back at her, causing this wicked look in her eyes to grow. "Make us move." Octavia snapped.

"Fio, Penn..." Indra shouted over her shoulder as I looked over at Octavia smiled softly at her. "This is it." She whispered to me as I looked back at the two large grounders that where standing before us. I was terrified.

"Give these girls what they want."

Octavia had found me two short swords earlier in the day, we'd been sharpening them for this very moment she said it was the next step into what needed to be my new role. The two grounders before us had their own swords extended out in front of them as they had begun to chuckle at us. I watched as Fio began to advance at Octavia their swords hitting each other.

I looked directly at Penn the grounder that Marcus had tried offering the gun too. I pulled both the swords out from the sheaths on my back and began to walk towards the grounder. He held his sword pointing it towards me with the same hunger in his eyes that Indra had shown me.

Instantly I had rushed him forcing my swords downwards as he blocked me, we had continued to slash at each other going back and forth with the sword fighting till he had knocked my one sword out of my hand. Looking up at him angrily I hit his hard forcing it to the ground before tossing my other sword down as a grounder rushed in moving the blades out of out way.

My attention on the grounders taking the swords away allowed Penn to rush me knocking me to the ground harshly. I looked up at the grounder the pain in my head and shoulder stinging badly. I ran towards him punching him hard in the face as he kicked me violently knocking me back down to the ground. Looking over at Octavia seeing that she was also getting the same beating I was only drove me harder. As she shouted to Fio, meriting and answer from Indra as the man rushed at her again too.

I stood up again running towards the grounder kneeing him hard in the groin causing him to keel over before I kicked him again but in the stomach causing him to go to the ground. Moving him on his back as I sat on his stomach punching him repeatedly in the face before he threw me off him into the ground. I could feel pains all over my face and body, "Indra, stop this."

Indra had said something in her own language as I could barely even focus on lights or sounds around me as it was. Barely able to stand up I went to stand up feeling the ground kick me in the chest knocking me back into the mud as I felt Octavia roll into me on the ground. "Uuugh" she groaned in pain.

I stood up again Octavia following my lead as both the grounders had their backs to us. She looked at me nodding as I weakly made my way towards Penn as Fio turned around first. I watched as Octavia was brutally beaten by the man till she had fallen to the ground. I hadn't even realized what happened between Penn and I till I realized I was back on the ground still in excruciating pain.
