She wasn't used to being this happy, Regina thought hours later as she lay in bed gazing up at the ceiling. But Emma had somehow found a way to make her grin like an idiot anytime she thought of her. The taste of her was still fresh in her mouth despite the hours that had passed, and she didn't want to think about the feel of her. Her breath was coming out in short gasps just thinking about the sensations that Emma's hands left in their wake as they roamed over her body. She had just finished her phone call with Henry and ofcourse Emma and after a little teasing between them, they'd both said their goodnights and hang up. But she wasn't sleeping at all. An image of the younger woman flooded her mind, she saw Emma as she had seen her earlier that day. She had been standing between her thighs, gazing at her with so much desire in her eyes.

She almost jumped when she heard the phone ring and quickly reached over to pick it up while glancing over at the clock. She smiled and sat upright in bed. How could she have forgotten the call she got around this time every night?

"Hello."

"Hello, Regina, how did things go?"

Regina's smile widened upon hearing Tinkerbell's voice. "It was incredible" she started, knowing all too well she was rambling but she didn't care.

"I wish I was there to see that smile you have on your face right now"

"Me too. I miss you so much Tink" And she did. How she wished her friend was here to share this moments with her.

"I miss you too, come home soon"

"I am home" Regina replied and she meant it.

"Yes you are. So what next? Emma clearly likes you even without her memories, but you can't keep lying to her forever"

"I know, for now I'm just letting things take their own direction. We'll figure out the rest along the way. But..." Regina stopped.

"But what?"

"What if she goes back to hating me when she remembers?" Regina asked, sorrow creeping to her tone.

"We've been through this, Regina. Emma has never hated you. You two are just too strong headed and proud and not used to trusting that you don't know how to accept whatever good thing that comes your way. You have both lived your lives following some writing on a book or some stupid prophecy but now you don't have to. You can just be yourselves and enjoy it while it lasts however long that might be. Just let things happen and when the time comes for Emma to finally know the truth or remember...well, you two will figure it out then, you always do."

They talked for a while longer about storybrooke and its people and after hanging up, Regina shifted to a more comfortable position in bed. Drifting off, she let thoughts of the woman she loved take over her mind and senses. She couldn't wait for Saturday.

Morning sun peered through the windows in her room as the maid pulled the curtains aside. She blinked a few times and stretched on her bed. Pushing herself up, she leaned on the headboard trying to get rid of sleep.

Saturday morning, the much awaited day was finally here. The day she'd been looking forward to the whole week. She couldn't wait to see Emma and Henry, not to mention spend the whole day with them. She'd agreed to meet them at their home since looking for an apartment would require alot of moving around, bring her car and driver wouldn't be necessary and Emma promised to take care of how they'd move around.

After a quick shower, Regina put on some black designer skinny jeans, a blue sleeveless chiffon top and a pair of flats. Putting her hair up in a ponytail, she was ready to go.

As the car headed towards Emma's apartment, Regina's mind drifted into a series of concerns. How would this work? What was going to happen when Emma remembered everything? Would she hate her for lying to her the whole time? Would she return her feelings or would she be in it alone? Would Henry be okay with them being together if that ever happened? She had decided on getting an apartment because she wasn't sure how long this would take and staying at a hotel wasn't exactly homely or private. She wanted Emma and Henry to feel at home if they ever decided to visit. The car was now slowing down and she noticed that she was here. She got out and dismissed her driver. Approaching the door, Regina realised that she was actually nervous. For the first time, she was nervous about something. Taking a deep breath, she knocked and waited.

"Henry! She's here you have to hurry up!" She heard the blonde woman's voice shout and a second later, the door opened.

Emma stood speechless, taking in the woman infront of her. This was the second time she was seeing her in jeans but she doubted she'd ever get used to how exceptional she looked. Her blouse wasn't helping either. It gave a very wanting view of her perfect breasts and her mouth went dry just from it.

"You're staring, dear" Regina's voice brought her back to the present.

"Umm...yeah. Wow! You look..."

"Regina!" Henry's running feet and voice cut her off.

The boy almost knocked her over as he crushed into the older woman who was so adorably ready to return his embrace. She held on to her son for the first time in that long and lonely year.

"Wow! Looks like someone is really glad to see me or what?" she teased, holding him at arm's length to look at him well.

"You have no idea! I missed you" the boy replied.

"I missed you too" Regina smiled, an idea coming to mind immediately.

"So...are you guys done? Can we get a move on?" Emma asked, interrupting the exchange between the two.

"Someone's jealous" Henry teased and winked at Regina who could help laughing.

"Why would I be jealous?" Emma said, nudging him as she stepped outside the door. She then realized that she hadn't even had a chance to invite Regina inside.

"I'm the worst hostess in the world." She said as she turned her attention to the brunette who looked confused by her self-depreciating comment .

"I didn't even ask if you wanted to come in. This is all your fault kid" she said, glaring at her son who was already heading back inside accusingly. "And yours too for looking so hot and rendering me speechless when I opened the door" she leaned in and whispered in Regina's ear, nibbling her earlobe lightly which made the brunette gasp out softly.

Regina smiled at her and reached out her hand, just to touch the younger woman somehow. She craved any sort of contact with her.

"Aren't you guys coming?" Henry's voice made the jump and pull apart.

"Thank you for the invitation but some other time maybe. We should get going before it gets hotter than it already is" she replied.

"Okay. Come on kid, lets go" Emma called out to her son.

The two women and their son stepped out into the ever busy streets of New York City, talking and laughing together like the family they were. Although, only one of them knew this. More times than once, Regina and Emma found themselves holding each other's hand and after the fourth time, they just let it happen and they didn't let go until they got to the third apartment of the day. The last two had been okay but they didn't meet Regina's standards. Emma gasped when they walked into the third one. It was everything the other two weren't. Big, fully furnished and gorgeous in everyway. It had two bedrooms and a huge beautiful kitchen which was exactly what Regina wanted.

"Do you like it?" Regina asked Emma when she noticed her reaction.

"I'm not the one looking but since you're asking for my opinion, then Yes, I love it but we can just keep on looking if you don't like it. No worries."

"That won't be necessary. I like it too" Regina said smiling at the blonde.

"Really?" Emma grinned. "You'd think I was the one getting it" she said, coyly.

"Well I'm hoping you and Henry will be frequent visitors. I don't know anyone else in this city and all this space will make me feel so lonely" Regina pouted playfully.

"Don't do that. You're just too cute I wanna kiss you" Emma said, whispering that last part.

"And what are you waiting for?" Regina asked,

Emma looked over to her son who was busy playing some game on her phone. She leaned in and quickly planted a chaste kiss on the other woman's lips. "And as for you feeling alone, we won't let that happen, right Kid?" Emma said, taking her son's attention away from the device.

"Right! We'll visit as many times as you want. You'll get tired of us in no time" he smiled at the woman who was quickly and easily becoming very important and dear to him and evidently his mother too.

"That, my dear," Regina said as she pulled him in on a side hug, "will never ever happen" she finished as she kissed the top of his head.

They spent the next half hour finalising the necessary paper work for the apartment.

"Are you going to need help moving in?" Emma asked as they walked out of the apartment building.

"I don't really have much to bring, its just my clothes and some small personal stuff from the hotel which I can have Lee bring later on." Regina replied.

"Cool. Okay kid, thats it. I want my phone back" Emma said, snatching it from the teenager.

"But mom..."

"I don't know about you two but I'm pretty hungry. Do you want to maybe have lunch first and then go from there?" Regina said as a means to keep peace between mother and son. They both agreed fortunately and they took off.

Halfway through their meal, Regina excused herself to use the rest room. Neither of the two however, noticed her going out the restaurant's door and coming back about ten minutes later, a small box in hand.

After lunch, Regina called Lee and asked him to get her things at the hotel and then pick her up from Emma's when He was done, figuring that'd give her a couple more hours to hang out with her favourite people.

They decided to take a cab to the apartment. When they got there, Emma mad herself busy preparing some snacks and drinks for them. They talked about Henry's school and a little bit about Emma's job, enjoying the late afternoon together as a family. Every once in a while, the two women would steal glances and sneak cute little smiles at each other. Regina took off the box and gave it to Henry, who was sitting next to her, clueless, she assumed.

"Hey Henry, I got you something earlier. Hope you like it" she said as the boy eagerly opened the box. Emma looked at the exchange between the two, her too curious as to what the box contained.

"An iPhone!? Oh my god!" the boy jumped up and down "Oh my god! Thank you! Thank you!" he crushed his body into Regina's in an embrace.

"Don't mention it." she said, returning the embrace lovingly. Then she noticed that Emma had been silent the whole time. She couldn't fathom the look on her face or whatever was on her mind but she could tell it wasn't good.

"Hey Henry. Would you like to go check it out in your room?" she asked.

"Sure. Thanks again" He said and skipped off after giving her another hug.

"Emma?" she turned her attention back to the blonde when the boy was out the room. "Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, its just...Why did you do it?"

"Do what?"

"Get him such an expensive gift without asking me first?"

"First, its not that expensive and second, I saw how much he enjoyed playing with your phone and how sad he got when you took it away. It was just a nice gesture. I didn't think it'd be a big deal. He's thirteen years old. I'm sure other boys his age have phones, its only normal that he wouldn't want to feel left out"

"With all due respect Regina, I should be making that decision, not you. He's my son" Emma caught herself saying. She didn't mean to sound so harsh and truth is she didn't know why she was so angry. It was just a phone and Regina was just being a good friend to her son and she should be grateful for that. She hadn't seen her son that happy. The woman had just caught her off guard.

"He's my!...you know what? You're right" Regina said before she found an answer to that question and she noticed that the other woman was already on her feet. "And I am sorry that what I did upset you, that wasn't my intention. But I'm not sorry to see the smile that it brought to His face. I'll see myself out" she said, heading for the door.

"Regina..." she heard the other woman call but she didn't look back. She had to get out of there before she lost it. She had come close to saying that he was her son too and she couldn't afford that sort of mistake at this point. Bless Lee's heart for just as she'd finished composing herself, he arrived to pick her up and drive her to her new home. She sat quietly trying not to cry and hoping to all things holy that she hadn't ruined everything. Little did she know that behind the door she'd just walked out of, the other woman was doing the same thing.

Emma ran out her front door just in time to see the black jetta turning the corner.

"How could I be such an idiot!" she whispered to herself, trying to hold the tears that were threatening to fall. She was panicking, something she never did. She just couldn't figure out how messed up things had gotten all of a sudden. One moment everything was perfect, and the next it... just wasn't. The irony of it all didn't escape her one bit. This was her fault. How could she be so harsh to a woman who had been nothing but affectionate and kind to both her and her son? She knew their short exchange had hurt her and she hated herself for it.

She reached inside her jeans pocket and took out her phone. She dialled Regina's number, which sent her straight to her voicemail. What did you expect, you idiot!? You acted like a total bitch towards her, she mentally said to herself.

Frustrated, Emma went back inside, only to find her son sitting on the couch playing on his new phone, the hugest grin on his face.

"Where is Regina?" he asked, barely looking up from the phone.

"Umm... she left"

"Is everything okay? She didn't even say goodbye" the boy looked up at his mother, awaiting some sort of explanation with a sadness ,on his face that Emma couldn't bear to see. She needed to fix this. Not only for his son but for herself as well. She didn't know what was going on or what the other woman was doing to her but all she knew was, she couldn't stand the thought of Regina hating her. All of a sudden she was scared to lose someone she didn't even know a month ago.

"It was my fault" she said honestly.

"Why? What happened?"

"I'll explain later. I have to take care of something now." She took a quick look at the time, it was just a few minutes past 7pm.

"You're going out?"

"Yeah, will you be okay to stay alone for a while?"

"Mom! I'm not a baby, I'll be fine"

"Okay, but I'll ask Mrs. Q to keep an ear out just incase and don't stay up too late." she said, kissing her son's forehead and rushing up the stairs to pick up her jacket. A few minutes later, she was out the door.

After putting some of her own personal touches to the apartment, Regina dragged herself towards her room. So much for never letting me feel alone, she thought to herself. A heaviness settled itself on her chest and loneliness washed over her.

She decided on taking a bath first, maybe that would do her some good. She closed her eyes and let the hot water ease her tense muscles. How she wished the water could also wash away her sorrows, fears and pain. Her thoughts immediately went to Emma. What was she going to do? It hadn't been two hours and she missed her like crazy.

Her thoughts were however cut short by a loud ringing at the door. Who could it be? She thought as she exited the bathroom. She walked towards the door barefoot and only wrapped in a towel. Her wet hair dripping water droplets on her chest and shoulders.

Regina opened the door abruptly and her heart almost came to a stop when she came face to face with the object of her very recent thoughts staring right at her with her mouth agape.

Emma thought she might have a heart attack from how hard her heart was thumping against her rib cage. The sight before her was out of this world. She even forgot how to breathe for the next few seconds. Her gaze followed the droplets of water as they fell down from Regina's hair, to her shoulders, chest and then disappeared in the gap between her breasts. Realising that neither of them had actually uttered a single word for minutes and that she had been staring at Regina the whole time, Emma took a deep breath as she prepared herself to speak.

"Umm...I..." she tried. My God, she's gorgeous! Look at her, she thought to herself and swallowed dryly.

"Would you like to come in?" Regina asked her,

Moving slowly past Regina, Emma inhaled the scent of her fresh skin and shampoo that smelled of apples. A shiver ran down her spine just from it.

Regina shut the door and walked in after her. "Make yourself at home" she said as she motioned with her hand for her to sit down. "Can I offer you anything? Well theres only water since I haven't done any shopping yet"

"Um...No. Thank you. I'm okay. Listen Regina, can we talk?" Emma said, trying hard not to be distracted by Regina's sexiness. Her imagination getting the best of her and she found herself picturing how she looked beneath that towel.

"Sure" Regina said, taking a seat beside her. She didn't seem bothered by the fact that apart from the towel, she was completely naked. Truth is, she was confident with how she looked and based on the way Emma's eyes roamed her body lustfully and how she kept wetting her lips and how red her face was getting, she would be lying if she said, she wasn't having fun with this.

"Aren't you cold?" Emma said suddenly.

"No, I'm okay" Regina looked her straight in the eyes, and smirked mischievously as she busked in how adorably nervous Emma was getting. "You wanted to talk?" she replied as Emma's face turned all red.

"Okay, yeah" Emma's reply wasn't more than a whisper. She nervously squirmed in her seat, finding it hard to maintain any eye contact with Regina.

She lowered her gaze to her lap, suddenly finding her fingernails very interesting. This was going to be a long night, she thought.

TBC.
