Hey everyone!
Just a little note/question/comment/regard not sure what to call what I'm about to say.
The lack of feedback has had me a little bit weary as to wheather or not I should continue this story. That and the amount of complaints that I get about how Clarke isn't as important in my story as she is in the show. (It's an OC - Centric story which I thought was obvious since chapter 1.) I never know if you guys like the story or if i should just but it on a permanent hiatus or just take it down.
I do love the support i do get and I'm not trying to feed for reviews I just never know if you like Rayne or Nova or what. Writing a story where your focusing on someone who isn't in the original story is frustrating never know if people like it.
I also get comments regarding Clarke and Rayne's relationship. The way I have them intereact is the way my bestfriend and I interact. They don't hate each other, they forgive and forget and sometimes get carried away in their anger. That's normal. This story is as much a Romance between Bellamy and Rayne and its ups and downs as it is the friendship between Clarke and Rayne whose friendship is just as rocky.
Also I hate to say this for what feels like the 100th time... but this is not, and will not be a Bellarke story. This is a Bellamy/OC story, if you are looking for Bellarke your in the wrong fiction. I apologize if I am coming off brash however, spending the amount of time that I do trying to make sure the story is out before the next episode... and thinking about what to do in each chapter only to get cussed out or bickered with other how my story is going is draining.
Anyway much love to those who have stuck around since the beginning. Next Chapter should be out Sunday/Monday.
Bellamy's Point of View
I looked at her from where I was watching her as she excited looked at me, "How about getting me down, Maya?" I asked her, "So if you know Jasper, then you know Clarke… did Nova make it?" She pressed on as she ripped out the tubes and cords.
I looked at her as she stood up tall the sound of the flat line made me want to say something till she made my entire body freeze in place. "Lovejoy, Hey." She said.
The guard that hung me up here was back in this room, was he here to put up another one of the grounders? Throw my body way into the trash? My mind began to race; I hadn't even been able to tell Maya what I was here for. Or what to do to stop her people from killing my friends, I could almost hear my heart beating against my chest as the fear rose through me.
"What are you doing here?" He asked her. "You're not cleared for this facility."
"I know. I'm sorry." She told him slowly. "I just wanted to see what was so special about him, but—" She began to trail off. "He's dead." She said as I realized she was buying me time to think of a plan to get him out of here. I knew this would likely mean killing the guard which knowing what he and his friends had in store for my people I had no qualm in doing so.
I could hear his footprints coming closer to her and I as I shut my eyes and tried to calm my breathing. "So he is." He told her as he moved around so that he was I guess in front of me. I felt like I was going to collapse trying to hold my breathing in to keep playing dead.
I started to hear a motor whirling and I could feel myself being slowly lowered to the ground. I had to get ready; the moment he took off my restraints I knew I had to do something to get him away from me to subdue him. I could feel my body slowly touch the ground as it guided my legs down after my torso had completely made contact with the floor.
When my feet hit the floor I knew I was completely on the ground. I could hear him walking towards me and felt him as he began to unclasp my feet from the restraints. "You're a brave girl coming in here—" He had begun to say as I took my chance to get him away from me by kicking him in the chin knocking him backwards.
Quickly taking off the restraint on my other foot I moved to stand up and move away from him and the contraption they had me in. "Don't move. Don't move!" He began to yell at me, as I was moving away from him. He held a gun directly at me as he tried to scare me into listening to him.
"On your feet." He yelled at me as I continued to move backwards away from him. "On your feet" He shouted again.
I looked up at Maya shoved a scalpel into his neck forcing him to drop his gun so I could get up and attack him hand to hand. He punched me right in the face causing me to fall backwards into the cage of the girl I had saved from being a blood bag. "Stop!" Maya said as she held the gun at the guard.
"Don't. They'll hear." I warned her, when he turned his head to look at her I took the opportunity to punch him right in the gut moving him so that his back was now against the cage. He pushed me away from him lifting his hand with the bloody scalpel in his hand. The girl in the cage took hold of his wrist as he tried to rip it from her grasp.
I could feel the blood seeping out of my mouth as I wrapped my hands around his neck chocking the man as tightly as I could hoping to end this as soon as I could. He took my face in his hand trying to get his thumb; I managed to move my head around his hand biting down on his palm causing him to scream out in pain lowering his guard on me once again.
I pressed harder onto his neck, squeezing my eyes shut as I drained the life out of the man. I heard the scalpel collapse onto the ground and looked up at the girl in the cage as she let go of his arm. Once I no longer felt the pulse in his neck I let go of him letting his body completely slump onto the ground.
Grounders had begun to shout at me from all over the room, slowly turning my head around to look at Maya as she stood there her face full of shock and sadness. I couldn't imagine how hard that was for her to let me kill one of her people. I did however feel incredibly thankful of her, she must have really cared for Jasper if she was willing to go into harms way to get him free.
I stood up slowly looking at the girl in the cage, "Thank you." I told her as she nodded to me, obviously happy one of her captors where now dead. Turning back around to look at Maya again only to see her still trembling in place holding the gun, I had to ask her. "You all right?"
Walking over to her realizing she didn't hear what I said I placed my hand on her shoulder, asking her a second time. "Hey, you ok?"
She shivered looking at me nodding, "I'm fine."
Moving away from her slightly walking towards the guards' body, "Help me get him undressed. We need to get rid of the body. " I explained to her as I took the vest off of him as she began to unbutton the shirt he had on. I had to admit I was scared of what was going to happen, and how I would be able to face Rayne knowing I killed a man with my bare hands. I knew she would always love me but would she fear me?
Rayne's Point of View
Raven had come back to take over listening to the radio, letting both Octavia and I leave the room. Octavia told me she was going to go think about what she was going to do when it came to leaving with Nova or staying to train with Fio. I had to admit knowing she was considering leaving scared me, knowing I was going to be alone. She was really all I had left since Clarke told Bellamy to go into the Mountain.
"Rayne…" I heard Clarke's voice say from down the hallway.
Taking a deep breath I slowly turned around facing her, "Clarke."
She offered me a weak smile, "Look at us..." She started to say, "When did we start fighting each other again, I thought we where in a good place." She said once she had gotten closer to me.
"If I had to give you a direct day and time that we got back to this point Clarke, we would need to start when you decided to brand yourself our Commander and Chief. Ignoring every single piece of advice I would ever offer you, you started acting like I was your sidekick and not your equal." I began to tell her.
"You got so many of our friends hurt or killed but being reckless and thinking what you where doing was… the right thing. You never thought before you acted, you and Bellamy just jumped before thinking… You killed Finn… You sent Bellamy and Lincoln to their deaths; Finn was dead and you were alone so I guess that means Octavia and I also get to be alone…"
Clarke looked down, "You're right." She said after we had stood there in silence for a what felt like at least ten minuets.
"You're right, I did just take that role… the Commander very obviously wanted you to be her liaison with the whole you looking like one of their more beloved Commanders." She started to say, "I was reckless, and I am reckless… I know sending Bellamy would cause problems with us and I still did it because I didn't care and now you're probably hate me." She said,
"I don't hate you Clarke. I am very frustrated, annoyed, pissed off. Clarke I tried so hard to help you and guide you and you just threw me aside like I was nothing. You threw the only guy I have ever loved into the enemies bed and didn't care how it would effect me, him or you and I."
Clarke stood there saying almost nothing while I just sighed. "Look, why don't we both cool off and talk later. Obviously I'm on edge and you need to find words all right? Not say something we'll regret?" I offered her.
"Sounds good, I'm going to go see about Raven and the Radio." She told me walking past me towards engineering.
Heading towards the airlock Raven had told me they brought the man Clarke saved I found my father standing there with her mother. Not sure if I should say anything to either of them knowing I hadn't exactly been a very 'Ark Citizen' girl the last few days. I just looked down at my feet trying to figure out my words.
"My kid is in trouble." I heard her say, "They tried to kill her, Marcus." She said to him.
"They kidnapped and tried to kill mine many times too Abby. They are strong girls, and we can only teach them so much before they need to start doing it on their own."
"That's not the same thing, the grounders thought Rayne was some sort of messiah, the Mountain Men see Clarke as a threat." She spat at him.
"Don't even try making Rayne's near death experiences seem like they aren't as important as Clarke's." He told her,
"Clarke is barely able to hold this alliance together, and half the grounders want her dead and the other half only care that she's alive because Lexa wants her alive. Make your kid lead them, at least she bonds with them on a level Clarke refuses to." She told him.
I turned around and quickly made my way back to engineering to get away from where Abby and Kane where. Last thing I needed was the two of them realizing I had been standing there listening to that conversation. Basically shit talking each other's child, like they don't matter. That was pathetic.
I watched as Clarke exited the engineering room taking me by the arm leading me back the way I had come. I needless to say was completely confused as to why she was taking me anywhere after the things I had said to her, regardless of the context I had said them in. "He's awake, and we're going to be doing this together. You're right, you were trying to help and I dismissed you like a sidekick. No more, we lead this together or not at all..." She told me.
"I didn't mean it like that Clarke, I'm just upset about the whole Bellamy probably going to die thing." I told her as she chuckled.
"Doesn't matter you where still right, Ray." She stopped me in the hallway. "I am the compassionate one, they keep telling us we're weak. It's not our people that are weak. I am weak; you are the strong one… if we work together you making the hard choices while I make the easy ones this can work. I can't do it alone." She told me as I smiled.
"You know I don't hate you right Clarke? I am just pissed off with the way things have been going, the way I just get swiped under the carpet like dirt. You don't need me, I just… I just need Bells…" I told her.
"I maybe don't need your help Ray, but I want it. Demand it actually." She smirked standing up straight. "Even if it means we're going to fight each other every now and then on the choices we make. I mean you have changed a lot Rayne and honestly for the better. Indra is making you a lot stronger, we're going to need that." She told me with a smile as she threw her arm over my shoulder.
"Demand it eh?" I smirked, "Fine, how are you not mad at me for how I was treating you?" I asked her.
"Friends, let friends get mad at each other. Besides it was totally justified… I should have sent someone else into the Mountain. I knew you were against it and I still did it. I should have thought about it." She told me as we grew closer to where our parents where standing.
"As long as you don't hate me." I told her. "Pfft, never… I mean sure you can be a total b!tch sometimes, however I wouldn't take you any other way."
"Back at you." I laughed at her.
"Please answer the question." My father asked the man as he sat there on the gurney in front of us.
"Carl Emerson, Mount Weather security detail." He said as I looked over at Clarke. "Told you he had a spiel." I nudged her as she rolled her eyes.
"As you already said." Kane said again. "You don't seem to be grasping the situation here. You should've died in the woods, and we saved your life. Why not help us bring an end to all this?"
"Carl Emerson, Mount Weather security detail." He repeated himself as I shook my head. "Should just let Indra in there." I sighed.
"Or you, I hear you are her second." Clarke smiled. "I am, it's an honor." I told her as I kept my eyes on the man.
"He wont talk dad." I called out after the man had repeated himself a third time, "He will if we open the door." He threatened the man as Abby rushed towards the door.
"We are not doing that." Abby told him, "We need to know what he knows—" My father argued as he seemed to chase Abby. "Vulnerabilities, troop numbers."
I looked over at Clarke as she picked up some weird tube thing that they had found in his effects after we had taken them all away from the man. "My mom's right." She said playing with it in her hands before passing it off to me. "Torture doesn't work."
"Clarke, it could save your friends." He told her.
"We had been lead false information before when it came to saving our friends, Dad. That information is the reason Finn is dead, he won't give us anything honest and if he does who knows if its even something that matters." I said as Clarke nodded. "She's right." Clarke responded.
"I'm the chancellor." Abby shouted at him as I shook my head causing Clarke to look at me sympathetically, she must have realized I was thinking about how power hungry her mother had become.
"Then act like one." My father yelled at her causing Clarke and I to jump. "I told you I would support you as long as I believed that you were doing the right thing." He told her, "I am, and if you disagree, convene a vote and take my place." She snapped.
"As if being Chancellor even matters anymore at this point." I remarked as I saw Clarke biting the inside of her cheek to keep from smiling.
The adults looked over at me clearly wanting to say something but not finding any words kind enough to say; "I don't give a damn about the title. I just want to save our people." He snapped.
"So do I." Abby spat at him, my father clearly done with her walked away from the situation and down the hall towards his quarters. "I want this man under 24-hour guard." She ordered. "Is that clear?"
She looked over at Clarke and I with wrath in her eyes before walking off down the opposite hall as my father. "Well then." I sighed.
"Want to go wait by the radio again?" She asked me, "The radio silence almost seems overly appealing after that." She smiled at me causing me to shake my head at her. "Radio Silence is my favorite Earth song." I teased as she pushed my arm slightly leading the way back to engineering.
Bellamy's Point of View
Walking out from a small room I had found I was now wearing the guards' uniform. Looking over at his body I began to feel the harsh pang of guilt for taking his life, even though I knew it was a necessary thing that I needed to do. I look over at Maya who smiled weakly at me; "So you know Nova?" She asked me.
"Yea, she helped us a lot with getting an alliance with the Grounders. She was supposed to come here with me. She said she would keep my girlfriend safe while I am in here." I explained to her.
"Nova is great, I do miss her." She admitted to me.
I walked over to her taking in a deep breath; "You've done enough." I told her softly as I tied the belt around my waist. "You should walk away." I told her.
"You don't know where you're going." She reminded me.
"So draw me a map." I replied quickly watching as she rolled her eyes. "No." She scoffed. "I'm in." She told me handing me the gun and ID card from the guard.
Letting myself think about it, it would be a lot easier if she was helping me considering they would likely figure out very quickly that I wasn't a guard or one of them. "Ok."
Taking the cartridge out of the gun to see that it was full before pushing it back into the gun, I looked up at her. "I need to get to the radio so I can contact Clarke and Rayne. We heard Jasper's SOS."
"I helped them set that up. I know where it is. Bellamy…" She began to say as I swallowed worried it was something I wasn't going to want to hear. "Your people are disappearing, Two so far – Monty and Harper. I thought they'd be in here, but – " I cut her off quickly.
"I want to see the others now." I told her so she wouldn't need to tell me anything more. She nodded at me; "The dorm is on the way to the radio." She informed me, "Ok." I told her turning to head towards the door.
"Wait." Maya said as I walked back towards her, she ripped off the guards' nametag off the vest, "Everyone here knows everyone. Put this on. Roll up your sleeve." She said all at once as I sighed again doing as she said putting the hat on my head and pulling the sleeve up.
"Tracking chip." I commented remembering they had put something into my skin, it was probably the thing they inserted into my mouth.
"Yea, It'll trip alarms once we start moving." She told me, as I nodded to her. "We have to take it out." She said looking at me in I guess the manor of telling me that it was going to hurt.
As if all the pain I had already gone through didn't hurt. I was sure this small cut was going to be child's play in comparison. "Do it." I finally said breaking the silence we had once again pushed ourselves into.
I looked down at my arm as she cut into my skin with a new scalpel cutting down my arm making an incision where the tracker was. I in a sense felt terrible for her people, trapped in this metal canister not able to go outside. However did they really think that if they killed the kids in the mountain that when they came out that the grounders and us wouldn't just join forces completely killing every last one of them.
I sounded like Rayne; the thought of her brought a smile to my lips. Knowing I had Maya helping me basically told me that I would be able to see her again, something that made me feel less like this entire mission was going to end in death. Apart of me wished Clarke would have sent someone else into this Mountain to free our friends and shut the defenses down. However I knew even when I suggested it, that it would always be me in here. Something that I was sure was sending Rayne into frenzy with Clarke.
"How'd you know what my name was before I told you?" She asked me snapping me from my thoughts.
"Clarke. Clarke said Jasper couldn't stop talking about someone named Maya. " Placing the tracker into the palm of my hand as I was putting pressure on the cut. "Put this in your cage." She said unsuccessfully hiding the grin plastered onto her lips.
She really did like and care for Jasper, I knew he would eventually find someone. Well Rayne knew she would always comment on it, just never thought it would be someone in the Mountain full of people trying to kill our people. With the bandage secured to my forearm I walked back towards the cage placing the tracer into it.
The grounder girl sat there staring at me with the same eyes I was sure Nova gave Clarke when she had left her here in the Mountain. If Nova stayed here rather then escaping with those she could, I could almost bet that she would either be in a cage, or be Reaper dinner, like that guard was going to be. Reapers… I still couldn't understand why Lincoln did what he had done.
I looked at her as I locked my cage so it wouldn't be noticeable that I was gone. "I'll come back for you, I promise." I told her as she just sat there staring at me. Turning around looking back at Maya I nodded at her, "Take me to my friends."
