Bellamy's Point of View
Once I had left Wallace in his cell I had made my way back through the ducts climbing around till I had reached one of the exits that lead me to a ladder. A ladder that looked like the endless pit of darkness, with just a few lights every few feet. Hanging my feet out of the duct I sat there waiting on Raven's next few instructions.
"Talk to me. What do you see?" She asked me as I moved more out of the tunnel putting my foot against the ladder.
Wiping the sweat from my forehead I chuckled softly, "Close your eyes and try to imagine a bottomless pit." I told her as I heard her sigh.
"Just stick with it." She told me.
"According to Dante's coordinates, you're almost there." She told me as I looked up and down shaking my head no. "What's happening on your end?" I asked her.
"Did they evacuate Tondc?"
"I don't know yet, but it's Clarke. She'll get it done." She told me sternly.
"Bellamy, just concentrate on squeezing your ass through that vent and stop worrying about Rayne and your sister." She said causing me to stop.
Why would she mention either of them? Especially if their both safe and within the camp like Clarke had told me they both where. "Octavia's in Tondc?" I asked her, "Does that mean Clarke took Rayne with her… when she told me she wouldn't?"
"Are they both there?" I asked her again when I was met with silence. "Raven."
"Octavia will be ok, Rayne went to go get her. Kane was in Tondc she didn't trust Clarke to save everyone knowing your life was at stake if Mount Weather thinks we have someone in there." She explained.
"What?" I asked her. "Clarke isn't going to save everyone?"
Why wouldn't she save anyone after everything we've been through? "Clarke is going to save the Commander, Rayne is going to save her Father, Octavia and the clan healers."
I knew Rayne would never let anything happen to Octavia, she cared for her way too much. She always had; since the day we had been sent down here they where both attached by the hip. I loved Rayne and I trusted her with every fiber of my being to make sure she got Octavia out of here alive.
"Rayne will get her out of there on time, it's Octavia would you expect any less from Rayne when it comes to her?" She asked me.
"How could you keep this from me?" I asked her feeling myself break down, "Clarke thought not telling you about Octavia was protecting you, and Rayne there was no stopping her she was out the door before I could protest." She explained to me.
"Protecting me, she knew Rayne would run after Octavia if she was in trouble… was getting both my girls killed her way of protecting me or cutting off loose ends?" I asked her feeling the blood boil in my body.
"Listen. You still have a job to do. I know you're worried about the girls, but you need to focus. You're no help to them or anyone else if you're worrying." She told me.
"Let's just get this done." I growled at her as I continued up the shaft.
Rayne's Point of View
Sitting along side Indra watching as the grounder healers had entered the one compound getting ready to leave through the few tunnels underground. This entire missile business was more of a headache than it needed to be. Why couldn't Clarke just come and save everyone, why did she have to be herself and protect the one person that would likely be the first to kill her.
"You should be out there not her." She told me softly.
"Indra." I sighed turning to face her.
"Nova is being foolish leaving to find that boy." She snarled.
"Maybe but, the heart does what the heart wants. I don't think Nova is going to come back once she finds him." I told Indra.
"If anyone finds out what you told me and realizes the Commander and Clarke knew they will revolt against them."
Sighing, they weren't going to revolt against the Commander they will go against us. They would kill all of the people from the Ark thinking Clarke brainwashed their commander. "Most likely." I told her.
"Rayne?" I heard my father say from behind me, "Yea?" I asked as I stood up excusing myself with Indra making my way towards him.
"What's up dad?" I asked him as we walked a bit away from the grounders I was sitting around.
"Octavia is out in the woods, no one has seen or heard from Clarke or the Commander." He started. "You need to get back to Camp Jaha."
"Dad if I leave now anyone watching the Camp will know something is up." I explained to him as he walked with me around the camp. "Not if you sneak away like the healers did." He responded.
"Rayne; you need to be safe. If we all make it out of this attack alive, and Bellamy gets out of the Mountain and finds out I let you get hurt when I could have protected you—" He started to say as I laughed.
"I can't and won't leave you or Octavia behind dad. I can't do that, it hurts enough knowing I'm allowing as many die as I am."
"That's leadership Rayne, Clarke is doing the same thing with the Commander." He told me, "Yea and what happens when the Commander says something Clarke doesn't like dad? She needs to realize we are out numbered 20 to 1 the grounders will never openly follow her." I explained to him.
"That's when you're going to need to stand up Ray…" He said.
"You know what, Dad. I would love it if you would all stop talking about Clarke like she's going to die tomorrow, or like I should be killing her. I will not let that girl die, and she will not die at my hands. What is wrong with everyone." I argued standing up.
"We're not saying that Rayne, but Clarke hasn't been Clarke since she killed Finn. Rayne you can only guide her and help her so much before someone needs to take over… the Commander and the Army trust you." He told me.
"You mean I look like their leader from years ago that died? Big deal it doesn't mean anything, Dad please let's be serious the grounders don't trust any of us and they never will. They tolerate a small few." I explained to him before I began to walk back to Indra, "Get ready to leave Dad, I won't ask again. Next time I will be dragging you."
"Indra it's time have you seen Octavia?" I asked her as she shook her head, "We have no more time to waste… you go find that girl I will start to leave with your father." She told me.
"Hurry I can only imagine the little time we still have left." She continued as I nodded running out of the camp towards the spot she and another second where supposed to be stationed.
I wasn't surprised to not find her there, but upon searching the are for her only to find a half eaten grounder. That there was a bit of a surprise, "You need to be strong." I heard her voice say as I arched my brow.
"I can't I have tried." Another voice said. "I can't give it up."
"You have no choice." She said again as I ran towards the voices to see Lincoln and Octavia sitting there on a broken log talking.
"Oh thank god, I thought you were dead." I told her as she stood up. "Lincoln in safe." She told me.
"We're not, we need to go—" I began to say however was abruptly cut off. I felt myself being thrown to the side hitting a tree along with hearing Octavia scream in pain and Lincoln calling her name.
However it sounding like I was in a bowl, their voices so distant yet at the same time so very close. The last time I had a hard time hearing and this is the way I heard was when they had made the ring of fire around the drop ship. The last time we had seen our friends before Mount Weather had taken them.
"The bomb!" I shouted as I tried to stand up wobbling to either side trying to find my footing. "Rayne slow down." I heard Octavia say as I had just continued to try walking back towards Tondc.
I felt two pairs of arms help me up as the three of us walked back towards the camp as my woozy-ness had finally began to fade away. I looked around me and saw Octavia on my one side and Lincoln on the other as I assured them I could walk properly.
"I didn't think it would hit the camp so soon." I said to them both.
"We have to get back now and see the damage to many Clan leaders dead and there will be a revolt." Lincoln confirmed to me. "Clarke made damn sure Lexa got out alive so at least the Commander is alive, well hopefully that's in Clarke figured out how to do that like we did with the healers." Octavia snapped.
We climbed up a small hill that was supposed to over look Tondc when the sight I saw was worse that I could have ever even imagined this to look. The screams in agony sorrow and pain where almost unbearable to hear mixed in with the crying.
The entire village was destroyed and burning to the ground with the dead and dying spewed all over the ground and squished underneath pieces of metal and trees.
The fire was everywhere; there wasn't a single piece of this entire village that seemed to be untouched. I felt my heart breaking; I should have listened to my gut and warned every single one of the people in Tondc about the missile not just the healers, Indra, Octavia and my father. My father… "Oh my god." I said as I felt myself breaking down on the inside.
"What is it?" Octavia asked as I had already begun to climb down into the dangerous mess of metal, scraps, fire and tree parts. "Dad!" I screamed into the air before I had noticed both Lincoln and Octavia where now down combing through the scraps trying to find sign of any leader, or my father and Indra.
"If he died, I will never forgive myself." I told Octavia as she placed her hand on my shoulder. "This isn't your fault Ray… this is Clarkes." She tried to reassure me, still I would not condemn Clarke to death for this was there something wrong with me?
Nova's Point of View
The ride through the desert was long and hard however I had still managed to come across an entire group of Sky People standing around in the dirt. They all seemed to move away from my horse the moment I had slowed down near them. Looking around at them all I noticed the man Clarke's mother had referred to as the traitor.
"Thelonious of the Sky People." I announced to him from the horse.
"You know my name?" He asked me stepping away from the body on the ground. "How?"
Removing the fabric covering my face I looked over at him again, "I know more than just your name. Is John Murphy with you?" I asked him, looking around at all the people watching as the sky grew dark all around them. "Here." I said tossing a satchel to the ground near them, "Rations and Water."
"Your Nova… the Commanders favorite." He said to me.
"When she realizes I left my position to help John and your people I wont be." I told him as I hopped off the horse.
"You'll help us get to the city of light?" He asked me.
"If that is where John wants to go, I know the way and I will lead you." I told him as many of them began to get excited. "If you tell me where John is." I told him as they all pointed to the body on the ground.
Quickly drawing out my sword and moving swiftly towards Thelonious I pointed the blade towards his neck, "You let him die?" I asked, "You is responsible blood must have blood." I told him as he smiled softly shaking his head.
"We bumped into a young grounder named Emori." He told me as I squinted my eyes. "She harmed him?" I asked him.
"She and her brother took all our weapons, and supplies. She knocked John unconscious before they left." He told me.
"Emori is my friend you should have told her you knew me, she would have lead you to the City of Light you so desperately seek." I told him, still unsure as to why they would want to go there.
Everything we had been told as children about the City of Light was yes how they accepted everyone but in all honesty as a kid my father used to tell me that there was a different breed of Mountain Men out there. They were more ruthless and violent then the ones we knew, the whole acceptance thing was a ruse to get us to go there.
Leave our homes and safety for this promise of freedom, I feel like leading them there was a trap and they would all die. If they all even made it to the Promised Land. "Eat with the others I will wake up John." I told him.
"You care for him don't you?" He asked me. "I am responsible for him."
"You all seem so afraid to feel anything that may be construed as weakness but you wouldn't have become a traitor to your people, come all the way out here just because you are responsible for him." He told me as he placed his hand on my shoulder.
I took a deep breath as I knelt down next to John's body the man now across from me. "From the moment they crashed into the forest we watched them, examined them. I always found his outspoken nature interesting he was always so very vocal. When my people found him wondering aimlessly in the dark and took him in to torture him for answers…" I began to told him as he nodded at me urging me to continue.
"I would care for him by bringing him food and water, tending to his cuts, scratches and wounds. I would talk to him every chance that I was allowed to have. Than my people let him go, I was forbidden from every seeing him again." I told him as I brushed some of his now dry and entangled hair from his face.
"They had blown up a bridge injuring many of my people; the Mountain Men had captured anyone they could find. They took us, testing on my friends but me no… me they tried to raise as one of their own like a pet. When Clarke had told me about the ones that were missing I knew he was alive, I escaped with a few others." I continued.
"When I found John again, he was standing next to his friend as he killed many innocents in my village. The village I grew up in I knew every single victim of Finn's. Yet while John was holding me close so that I could cry into his chest it felt like I was ok." I told him, "That kind of feeling of serenity I am not used to." I told him.
"That's love child." He told me. "Love is weakness." I responded.
"No, love is power, it is strength. The love I have for my son is why I keep fighting keep going." He told me, "Yours for John clearly gives your strength." He said as he stood up and walked away leaving me to my thoughts.
I sat there his head now on my lap as I watched him sleep soundly, "John?" I questioned moving closer to his face to see if he was hurt. "Please be ok…" I whispered to him as I placed my lips softly against his, closing my eyes lightly. The soft surge flowing throughout my body, "This is a wake up I welcome." I heard him said as I jolted away from him dropping him back on the ground.
"I meant the other one, where you kissed me." He smirked.
"Don't be an ass." I told him with a smile, "We leave for the City of Light." I told him as I tossed a bottle to him, "Drink up."
"Where did you come from and why?" He asked me. "I promised you back in the torture camp I would never leave your side… this is me keeping my word." I told him as he slowly looked up at me with a grin. "Then what are we waiting for?" He asked.
