Rayne's Point of View
"We need bandages!" I heard someone yell as I ushered Octavia down the hill with me.
"Indra and my dad didn't get out in time." I told Octavia as she nodded, "We'll find him Rayne," She comforted me as she put her hand on my shoulder.
"I should have just told everyone to get out of here." I told her as I noticed Nyko next to Abby. "He didn't leave?" I questioned.
"I'm guessing they came back when they figured it was safe, come on we have to start getting people out of here." She told me.
"I have a better question. What is Abby doing here? I never saw her here before."
Octavia just shrugged at me as she began to look around as Lincoln began to jump down off the metal structures. Looking over at Octavia as she knelt down next to me I nudged her, "He's your beast to tame, O'" I told her.
"Lincoln, be careful. It's not stable." She told him, I could hear him struggling as I turned towards him watching as he was trying to lift some of the rubble. "They're down there." He told us as he continued to struggle.
"Do you hear someone?" I heard Abby's voice as she moved closer to the three of us as she began to attend to someone's wounds.
"Abby?" I questioned her, "Why are you here?" I asked her as she moved closer to me.
"Why are you here… did you know too?" She asked me.
"Of course I did, you asked me to watch over her… I came here to fix the mess that she was about to make only to be told… that trying to help everyone out of here was a bad idea… I got as many to sneak out as I could… clearly under estimating the numbers here." I told her as she sighed placing her hand on my shoulder.
"At least one of you isn't turning stone cold." She told me. "You and my dad have Octavia and Bellamy for that. If something happens to either of them… we'll have a problem." I snapped at her.
She lowered her head as I sighed, "Sorry, Abby. I'm just… this is just… I'm sorry." I stammered. "Don't be, look what we're dealing with." She told me.
Octavia looked over at me, "She knows?" I nodded,
"Clarke found you before she left?" I asked Abby.
"She tried to get me to leave with her, but knowing she came here with only one purpose I couldn't. I had to stay." She explained.
"Keeping Lexa alive is a priority but not at the costs it was. I tried Abby to save as many as I could." I told her.
"I know you did well Rayne." She smiled weakly at me.
Abby looking between Octavia and I before placing a hand on both our faces, "I'm thankful you two are still alive."
"Abby have you seen my dad?" I asked her. She shook her head, "I last saw him with Indra…" She told me as she looked down.
I heard Lincoln growling in pain as he was lifting another large piece of rubble. "Indra!" He shouted to us. "She's alive."
I instantly rushed from Abby and Octavia's side moving towards his side to see what condition she was in. Lincoln was already pulling her out of the hole holding her in his arms as both Octavia and I made it to her side.
"Put me down, Reaper!" Indra shouted at Lincoln the moment she was out of the hole. She rolled to her side moving closer to Octavia and I. She began to stand up as I stood with her, "You where supposed to be leaving here with my father." I told her.
"It hit before we could even get near your father." She told me as I lowered my head, that just meant that the whereabouts of my dad where still unknown. I had hoped her being alive meant he was alive and nearby.
Standing next to her I watched as she looked around at the people screaming in pain, barely moving, dying all around us. I could only imagine the pain she was feeling when it came to her people at this moment. I know I felt absolutely gutted that I didn't do better, didn't save more, didn't get here faster.
"Our people." She muttered to me, "Will be avenged." I told her sternly.
That's when I could hear the snap ring through the air forcing Indra backwards towards the ground and back into Lincoln's arms as they all rushed around for cover, "Indra!" I shouted as I felt a ping of pain rush through my body as I fell to my knees and than to the ground.
"Rayne!" I heard Octavia scream my name. "Get to cover!" I called to her.
"The sniper already shot me he probably thinks he killed me." I explained.
The constant screams in pain, the shouting and the whizzing of the bullets. I heard Nyko calling to me to crawl towards him and out of the line of fire but the pain in my shoulder was unbearable. "Come on Miss Rayne only a few more feet and I can grab you." I heard him call to me.
"I can't move, the pain…" I told him as I looked back at Indra who was handling the pain like a beast, I had to prove to her, to them that I could do the same. I pushed myself to get up off the ground making a run for Nyko's position as quickly as I could. Using the fact that the sniper was distracted by the others running around in the rubble to notice he hadn't killed me.
Once I had reached him he pushed me back against a wall looking at me, "We have to get you, and the other injured out of here." I heard Abby call out.
"I'm not injured I can still fight." I called to her angrily, even with all this pain flowing through me I knew giving up wasn't something I was prepared to do, I needed to fight to get back to Bellamy.
"How is Indra?" I demanded from Nyko, I watched as he looked away from me. "Loosing blood." He told me, "Lincoln, you must stop the bleeding." I shouted to him.
I looked up at Nyko as she smiled to you, "Your care of Indra is that of a child to its mother." He told me.
"I grew up having neither parent… Indra shows Octavia and I a great kindness." I told him, "You honor her, you both do." He offered.
"Is he helping her?" I asked, Octavia shook her head to tell me no.
"Indra let him help you, please we can't lose you." I called to her.
"What do we do Rayne?" A young grounder second asked me as I turned my head arching my brow at Octavia.
A young grounder boy stood up and went to bolt as Octavia moved to stop him only for Nyko to push her back down. "This will hurt." He told me as he dug his finger into my shoulder pulling the bullet out, I could do nothing but scream out in pain till my screams turned into nothing but air.
"Thank you." I looked up at Nyko as he began to bandage up my arm putting it into a sling. "No need to thank me." He told me.
"How long will I need my arm like this?" I asked him.
"When your healer Abby stitched the wound you will be fine." I nodded, "We have to move, pinned down like this he is just going to pick us all off." I told him.
"We're trapped." The two young seconds cried out as I looked towards Octavia.
"I say we use the Sky Girl to draw fire." The boy said. "You got a problem? Octavia snapped at him.
"Yes. You are the bringers of death." He growled at her.
"Silence!" I shouted at them as the both lowered their heads.
"We won't be using anyone as bait, and the Mountain Men have been taking and killing your people for years, so don't go pointing fingers. You will always have three pointing right back at you." I explained as I watched the two grounders look at their hands.
"It's a saying." I sighed as they nodded, "Means don't go accusing people of anything you have no evidence with or something I don't know." I said in frustration.
"What do we do Rayne? We still can't find your dad and we don't know if Clarke even got the Commander out alive." Octavia whispered to me as she moved closer to me.
"Oh she did, I can place bets on that… if they didn't the spotter would be aiming his gun elsewhere."
She nodded at me, "And Kane?"
I looked over at Abby who was barely in cover where she had managed to stay. "We will just have to accept that he is either buried and alive or among the many honored dead."
She just smiled weakly at me, "Someone's alive down here!" I heard Abby scream, "Maybe its Kane." Octavia smiled.
"I have to help them." I heard Abbey shout again.
Octavia looked over at me as I moved around so I was sitting behind the grounders. "Abby is going to get herself killed." I said shaking my head, "We have to do something, about her." Octavia replied.
I could hear a bunch of people shouting and screaming looking over at where Indra and Lincoln where sitting. "We all need to move." Lincoln told us. "Plan the move while he's focused." I called to Lincoln as he nodded to me.
"What do you mean?" The girl asked me.
"I mean when he's firing at someone else, Lincoln needs to pick Indra up and run towards where Nyko is." I told her sternly.
I watched as the grounder who had stood up to run was gunned down landing near Abby, as I watched her jolt in fear. I could only imagine the amount of fear going through her. What was going on in her head, what was Clarke thinking.
Lincoln ran towards Octavia, myself and the two other grounders with us with Indra over his shoulder. We were now the distraction of the sniper as we had all been following Lincoln to a new safer place.
Nyko moved closer to Indra as she began to groan in more pain, I hadn't even realized Nyko had rushed over here after he had helped me with my wound.
"Rayne what are we going to do? We can't move." Nyko said.
"I'm going for the shooter." Lincoln said as Octavia spun around to question him. "Lincoln, no." I said softly, "I can't let you do that, we already lost Bellamy." I said feeling myself grow nauseous, the desire to vomit growing within my stomach as I looked up at Octavia who arched her brow at me with worry in her eyes.
"I need to do this, to keep Octavia safe. I'll sound the horn when it's done." He told us as I looked at Octavia. "Your call." I told her.
"Go, but come back to me." She said to him as she pulled him close in an embrace kissing him tenderly as I smiled softly at the act. "I will watch over them, my friend." Nyko told her.
"I want to go with you." She stopped him, "No, Nyko needs your here."
I took a deep breath, "Octavia, he wont be noticed if he goes alone. He'll be safe and I'm going to need your help down here till we can get Abby to stick me up." She nodded.
"Are you sure you're up to this?" She asked him. Lincoln soon began to whisper to her in Trigedasleng.
She looked at me again taking in a deep breath, "What can I do?" She asked me as I nudged my head towards Nyko for him to ask him instead. "Pressure here." He informed her.
"Rayne, this is my village. You're the Chief Second. Save our people." She told me staring into my eyes as I watched Octavia slowly look up to me.
"We're pinned down, and the other seconds won't listen to us." Octavia said as Indra looked to her than to me. "They will listen to Rayne." She said as I nodded.
Indra's eyes soon closed as I looked over to Nyko, "She's losing to much blood, Nyko. What can we do?"
"We have to do something." Octavia began to get antsy.
"Thanks, Sky Girl, but there's nothing to do until the sniper is dead." Caris told her.
"I don't think excuses are what I asked for, we can't rely on Lincoln we can only hope he does his part. Now look for ways for us to help our people." I stated as the two of them nodded.
Bellamy's Point of View
I watched from our cover as two of the guards dragged one of my friends down the hall past us into the room where they had brought the other kids. The room I had found that they where taking their bone marrow from. I looked over at Maya as she nodded to me.
"I'll prep the table." I heard one of the guards say.
Maya and I continued to move closer to the door, as she looked at me nodding again, "We have to be quick about this before more come." She said to me.
Walking around the door I saw as Fox has started running towards me fear filling her eyes as tears where staining her cheeks. I had to do this as such to keep her as safe as possible, without the guards noticing. Pointing the gun in her face she had begun to back up towards the wall.
I aimed the gun in her face moving her off to the side and away from the two guards. "Thanks." The one guard said to me walking towards Fox however I shot them both in the center of the head as Fox had began to scream in fear.
I pulled off my goggles and helmet holding it down to my side as watching Fox's eyes widen with joy and relief as she ran towards me jumping into my arms holding me close crying into my shoulder. "Bellamy…" She muffled into my shoulder.
"Are you ok?" I asked her as she had continued to sob.
"It's all right. Gonna be ok." I cooed to her.
"Gonna be ok." I continued to repeat to her, I could hear Fox mumbling something about Clarke or Rayne.
"Both of them are ok their waiting outside." I told her.
"She's ok? Why would you leave her?" She asked me harshly.
"Come on. We have to get her someplace safe."
Once Maya had taken Fox by the hand and lead her out of the room. I followed them taking one last look towards the few bodies of our friends that had to meet their end this way. Shaking my head I shut the door behind me following the two girls down the hallway.
Maya had led us both to her house as she slowly opened the door letting both Fox and I in first, closing the door after herself. Walking in front of us getting ready to lead us towards her room, she jolted to a stop almost knocking us both backwards.
"Dad, you're home." She exclaimed.
"Yea." He said his voice sounding groggy as he had begun to sit up on the couch closing the book in his hand and placing it next to him on the couch. "The drill bit broke again." He told her.
The moment he noticed Fox and I he jolted off the couch with haste looking at us all fear dripping from his eyes. I moved my hand towards the gun on my hip as Maya moved in front of us. "What are they doing here?" He asked her.
"Look. They're in trouble." She told him. "We just need someplace safe to stay."
"No, they need to go now." He told her as he stared at her.
"Let me explain." She'd begun to cry softly. "How about you explain where he got that uniform?" He interrupted her.
"Maya," He sighed. "You know how dangerous this is. What are you doing?"
"What Mom would've done." She told him as he turned his attention back to me. "I need you to leave." He told me.
"Sorry. We can't do that." I informed him.
"That's ok. He's gonna help us." Maya told me as her fathers eyes stayed locked on me.
"Really?" I scoffed, "Because I'm not really getting that vibe from him."
Maya looked at me her eyes growing soft, "My parents were part of a movement that was against using outsider blood. My mom refused the treatments, and it killed her." She confessed to us a I looked over at Fox who was standing there chewing on her lips and playing with her hands.
"She was willing to die for what she believed in."
"Maya, you were 5." He told her. "I couldn't leave you alone."
"Not a little girl anymore." She told him as I stood there awkwardly listening to there heart to heart, all I could think about was Rayne and her talks with her father.
"They were willing to kill you before. If you get caught—" He started to say as she cut him off. "We won't if you help us."
"Please." Fox cried out as I looked over to her. "They're killing us. We don't have anywhere else to go. " She added.
"Just this once, just for one night." He told us as Maya began to cry hugging her father before moving back towards Fox leading her out of the room as I turned to go with he girls when her father stopped me.
"Thank you." I said to him offering my hand, "You know they'll never stop, right?" He told me.
"If the rumors are true and your bone marrow can get us back to the ground, they'll never stop. Maya told me about your girlfriend on the ground and once they find out you're here, and find out about her. She faces a worse fate than you do." He told me.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"They will kill her slowly, taking her bone marrow from her and force you to watch her as she dies… and instead of killing her with the last removal… they will use her blood to heal our people… draining her dry." He told me as I felt my throat dry almost instantly. The thought of them finding me out became even more intense; I couldn't let them do that to Rayne… I refused to.
