Rayne's Point of View
Hearing Lincoln's horn blow through the air caused me to stand from place looking around the area as many of the Grounder's stood to cheer at the death of the shooter. "Indra can you stand?" I asked her as she huffed before standing up. Looking over I saw as Octavia and the two other seconds rose from place looking all around.
"He's dead!" I shouted as Octavia soon began to grin ear to ear.
"Rayne! Lincoln! He did it!" She cheered.
"Sky girl we still can't get them out." I heard a girl tell her.
"Get who out?" I called to her, "Who have you found?"
"Abby and Marcus are alive buried in the rubble." The young man shouted to me, "Are you sure?" I asked.
"No. However Octavia claims it is them." I nodded, "Octavia?" I called to her.
"Get back in there!" She shouted to the two other seconds. "You lead her as if she is your second." Indra said moved towards me from behind.
"She is yours, Indra. I am just leading in your stead while you where healing." I told her, "You are a leader, you should be taking up a second." She told me.
"Why?" I asked spinning around to look at her, "I haven't exactly proven my worth in battle, I have done nothing except shout words at those better qualified for leading then me." I told her as I felt the coldness of the back of her hand meet with my cheek.
"You will not speak with such a tone."
"Indra, if I really am carrying a baby. I can't lead anyone I don't know what I'm doing." I told her averting my eyes to the ground.
"Every clan leader has at some point fought war with a child growing." She told me as she began to breath heavily, Nyko walking over to her and forcing her to sit down.
"I'll go check on the seconds it's getting dark." I said to no one in particular.
"Octavia, how are we looking, who's down there?" I asked hoping to god it was my father. I hadn't thought much of what happened to him since my talks with Indra earlier.
"I'm pretty sure it's him and Abby down there, Rayne he'll be fine I promise. What where you and Indra talking about seemed heated."
I took her by the arm and led her a small ways away from the other two seconds. I felt my mouth dry once again, that vomiting feeling was climbing up my throat. Looking at her I felt myself growing worried of her response. "Indra thinks I'm pregnant." I told her.
"Really?" She asked me sounding skeptical, I nodded at her now feeling ashamed about the entire situation.
"THIS IS THE BEST NEWS EVER!" She screamed out catching everyone in the remainder of Tondc's attention.
Chuckling with relief I smiled at her, "I just don't know how this whole Warrior leader thing is going to work with a belly."
She shrugged, "Well if the history books Bellamy used to read me are correct it's a thing woman did, since the dawn of time warrior woman have been fighting and having babies on the field of war for decades." She told me.
Rolling my eyes I smiled at her, "Get them out of that hole." I laughed as I had started to walk away from her. "I get to be the babies god mother!" She called to me.
"You'd be the babies aunt silly." I laughed it off as I walked back towards Nyko and the other injured taking my seat next to a few grounders.
"It's still not working!" Caris yelled as I had finally made my way back over to the ground of seconds trying to unbury the people they had found.
Once I reached them I noticed they where all pulling on a rope, walking over closer to them I watched as they tried to remove the rock in the way. I wished I could help them with what they where doing but I would be less than useless to them in the condition I was currently in.
A horn went off again as they all dropped the rope and everyone in the crater was looking around for the source. Was Lincoln already back? "Sky people!" I heard a grounder shout out to us as we all began to run up the hill to see who it was that was here.
"A group of them!" Another yelled, so they had meant there were more of us here not telling us to come. Once at the top of the crater I stood there next to Octavia and the two other seconds to look into the wooded area to see which of our people had come to aid us.
I watched as Sinclair and Jackson walked around the trees showing us themselves as many more of our people soon walked around with them. They had come to help? That was a big thing for our people, it should show the grounders how committed they where in this truce. Or at least I was hoping it would show them.
"We saw the missile, heard the blast, and figured you could use some help." He announced to us.
"Just in time." I told them as Jackson rushed towards me, "What happened to you?" He asked.
"Gun shot, and it's the least of my problems." I vaguely responded.
"Thanks so much guys." Octavia panted still out of breath from digging the hole.
"Octavia can you show them where we need them most, Nyko lead out medics to any and all injured you can find." I ordered as Sinclair looked at me. "We're very thankful for your swift response." I smiled at him.
"You've grown up." He smirked, "Becoming a leader just like your dad, he'd be proud." He told me.
"He will be proud, he isn't dead he's missing." I announced as Jackson sat me down to look at my wound.
"I need everybody on that rope." I heard Octavia yell.
"What is it that the worst of your problems than? If the bullet wound is the least." He asked me.
"I don't know for sure yet, but Indra seems to think I'm pregnant." I sighed. He looked at me before looking over at my stomach, "Well when was the last time you bled?"
"I don't remember… at least before you guys came down here." I told him softly.
"How long before?"
"A month maybe two I stopped noticing them when things got intense, like I know they happened I just don't remember anything specific." I sighed.
"We won't know how many months till we get you back to the camp." He informed me.
"Well I'm not going back till we take that damn mountain, that's more important then finding out how many months along I am… because if we don't take them out… how many months along I am wont matter, because I wouldn't live long enough to see it born." He nodded at my response.
"You're right but you also shouldn't be fighting in that sort of condition." He told me.
"That totally stopped all of those people though out history when they were in my condition leading wars." I told him, "Look can we just not talk about this… I need you to stick my arm I need to help and I can't till my wound is cleaned and stitched." I told him.
He began to clean out my wound causing me some of the worst pain I had felt in a long time, I felt everything. From him scraping away the dead skin, cleaning it out and stitching both sides of the wound. I could feel the hot tears staining my cheeks, looking at him I nodded to him in thanks before standing up and walking away towards the others after telling him to go help Indra.
"We've got two survivors!" I heard someone yell as I moved closer to the hole to better see who it was, but there was no use they hadn't gotten that far into the tunnel yet to even see.
"It's Abby and Kane!" Someone else shouted.
By the time day had turned to night they had finally managed to get my father out of the tunnel and had him safely moved somewhere to set any broken bones. "Thank you." I said softly as I reached Abby's side.
"For what?" She asked me.
"Keeping my father alive, thank you." I said again as she pulled me close into a hug. "Thank your for trying to save everyone." She told me.
"I only did what I knew had to be done, can't lead an army if all your leaders are dead." I told her.
Once they had placed him on the ground I watched as Octavia put a blanket over top of him, "Here you go," she smiled down at him, "O' look." I nudged her to look behind her as Lincoln soon appeared at the top of the hill of the crater.
I watched as Octavia ran from my side towards Lincoln with me following her, watching as the two of them embraced in a hug, kissing each other softly. I could almost feel the joy and relief radiating off of her body. "You made it." I commented.
"I had a bit of help." He told us nodding his head behind him, as Octavia's face grew dark, at the sight of Clarke.
"Kane needs blood, "O" neg… right now." I head Abby say from behind us where she was with my father. "Abby." I called over to her so she could see Clarke was back.
Clarke's eyes where directly on me, anger flowing through her eyes that I was here. Not that she should have suspected otherwise, of course I would be here to do what she couldn't do. She may have lost the ability to care about people but I didn't. I could make the hard choices with the least amount of casualties but for some reason she was incapable of finding a way to preserve life.
"What happened here will not stand." I heard Lexa say after moments of silence. "The Mountain will fall. The dead will be avenged!" She shouted as the grounders all around us began to scream and cheer. Part of me worried that when she said the Mountain would fall she meant everything inside not just the Mountain Men.
Octavia, Lincoln and I made our way towards Indra who was now on her feet. I smiled at her, "You look fit to fight again." She told me, "As do you." I smirked.
"Octavia did a great job today, Indra. She led our people perfectly." She nodded at my comment. "You've done well, Octavia of the Sky People, as have you Rayne." The two of us looked at each other smiling.
"Today you both saved lives. Tomorrow we'll take them." I nodded to her when I saw Clarke standing off in the distance staring at me. "I'll be right back." I told her moving away from her and towards Clarke.
"Why did you come to Tondc? I promised Bellamy you wouldn't come." She asked me.
"Because I had to make sure my father, Octavia and Indra were safe, keep the healers protected… there were other ways to keep these people safe Clarke beyond running away. I did it." I told her.
"I never meant to hurt them, Ray…" She began to say. "I know you didn't." I sighed, "It's just been a long day… a long trying day." I told her as Octavia made her way over.
"Did you tell Clarke the news?" She asked her.
"What news?" Clarke said confused. "Her and Bellamy are going to have the first baby between our people born on Earth… first of our kind in 97 years." She announced before rushing back to Indra.
"Really?" She asked me cocking her head to the side. "Yes, and don't try talking me out of fighting." I told her.
She laughed pulling me into a hug, "Wouldn't dream of it. I know you wouldn't listen to me anyway, we're the same in that matter." She told me as I laughed in agreement. "No doubt about that." I told her.
Knowing tomorrow was the day we where going to be starting our journey to the Mountain for war tonight may be the last time either of us would see each other till the whole thing was over. I only hoped we both made it to see the end of the battle with these sick people, that I would be in Bellamy's arms once again and we would see our friends.
Bellamy, how was I going to tell him we were expecting a child? The thought gave me the chills; I was terrified of what his response to it was going to be… I just hoped after this war we would at least have peace with the grounders. Long enough so that our child wouldn't have to live through the constant fear we did when we landed here.
Bellamy's Point of View
Once all of the kids had come down the shoot we had started to follow Maya's dad down the hallways slowly trying to find a place for us all to hide safely till Rayne and Clarke brought the armies here. Walking around the one corner I could see one of those old statues made of marble ahead.
"It's all clear." I said once I had rounded the corner, watching as they all slowly made their way around the corner.
"Bellamy, you did good." I heard a familiar voice say from beside me; turning to look I smirked seeing it was Miller.
"I did what I could to get you guys home, I'm just sorry that I couldn't get here sooner for the others." I commented.
"Hey you had to make sure Rayne was safe first man, we get it." He told me patting my back.
"I just hope she's still safe." I sighed as we all continued to move.
"What do you mean still safe?" I heard Harpers soft voice ask.
"Well the Mountain Men shot off a missile towards the Grounder Village that according to Raven… Rayne went to. It's a really long story." I told the two of them as they both nodded.
"I'm sure she's fine, Rayne is pretty resilient." Miller offered to me in comfort.
After walking down a few more hallways Jasper ran up to move next to me as I was leading them away from the one room. "Won't they see us?" He asked me looking around the hallway worried there were cameras.
"Relax Jasper, your girlfriend took out the cameras." I explained to him as I sighed out, he turned his head to look at me. "She's not my girlfriend." He started to say.
"I remember when I denied my feelings for Rayne." I chuckled.
"You never denied your feelings for Rayne, hell you made a point of keeping everyone away from her." Miller laughed walking up between us both.
"He's right." Jasper laughed, "I'm surprised she didn't come with you."
"I wouldn't let her come in here, knowing the dangers this place holds." I told them. "Has that ever stopped her before?" Jasper chuckled.
"Nope, not ever." I smirked. "We still have to move quickly though who knows how long it is until they notice the cameras are down."
"Yea, We're still sitting ducks in a group like this and with the cameras disabled only tells them exactly what floor we're on." Miller added.
"You're right. So we're gonna split up." I told them as the entire group caught up to me, Monty now standing between Jasper and I. "No. We do this together. We survive together." He told us.
"No, Bellamy's right." Jasper pointed out.
"Well, they don't trust Maya anymore. Who the hell is gonna help us now?" Miller asked.
Everyone stood around looking at each other fear gripping their eyes, the thought of being caught being even more something they where worried about. I looked over at Jasper confused why he would think that we would have no one left to help us out. Although to admit I would've been rather concerned about it too, except I remembered the conversation I had with Maya's dad the night before.
Walking right past them all forcing them to speed up, once I had reached the end of the hallway I stood there waiting for them all to catch up. "They are." I told them nodding my head towards the other end of the hallway where Maya, her dad and a few other adults where standing.
"We're going to hide you. Not everyone here agrees with Cage, not by a long shot." Maya told everyone.
"Come with me. We'll divide you along the way." Her dad waved them all over as they all continued to stand there obviously unsure about if they should follow or not. "Let's go." He said louder.
"It'll be ok." I reassured everyone as they all started to pass me, I looked over at Jasper who had a smile on his face. Clearly happy that they where finally safe and not going to have to worry anymore about what was going to happen to them for at least a little while longer.
"Let's go. You're safe now." Her father said again.
"Quick, quick." One of the others called out to us.
I watched as everyone was filed and separated away down each hallway as Jasper and Monty stayed beside me, "Go this way," Vincent told some of them. "That way. Go." He continued to say to them till everyone had been lead down each hallway.
I stood there waiting till everyone was out of sight when I noticed Monty and Jasper where still beside me. "Hey, we're coming with you." Jasper offered to me.
"No, you're not." I told him sternly. "They still don't know I'm here, and I need to keep it that way." I told them.
"So what do we do?" Monty asked me.
I looked between both of them trying to formulate the right words in my head, "Stay alive." I said as they both looked at me hoping for at least some speech of mine. "Be ready to fight. War is coming." I told them as they both stood there nodding at me.
I turned around and prepared to jog back down the hall so I could get back to a proper hiding place just incase the guards where on their way to this level. I just hoped the kids where safe, that these people where good and weren't going to turn on them and turn them in. I could only hope they where decent.
