Chapter 11: MISSING
Mackenzie's POV
I come round slowly to a throbbing pain in my left leg, a weight on my back and a splitting headache. I cough clearing my throat but I can't really see anything due to the dust and ash. I quickly get up sending debris flying everywhere. I ignore the pain and dizziness that hits me and start to search for team members. I can't see anyone.
There's movement out of the corner of my eye.
I spin round to find Shannon behind me pointing a gun at my head. It was her hair that caught my attention
"Hello Mackenzie," She smirks. "Always the resilient one. At least something stayed the same."
"What is it you want?" I say. "You changed your MO. What happened?"
"You happened. You see Mackenzie because of you I just want to see the world burn and Meghan has given me the means to do that."
"You're delusional Shannon," I say. "Meghan doesn't want to help you. She just wants to avenge her brother's death. She doesn't care about you. She doesn't care if you survive this. Let me take you in."
"Shut up," She says cocking the gun. "I know how to hurt you. Remember that."
"And I know how to hurt you."
I swing round grabbing the gun trying to disarm her.
It goes off.

Reid's POV
I wake with a start to a pounding headache and pain in my back. Smoke surrounds me and I can just about make out JJ and Emily. However I can't see Evans. There's a bang and I realise that's what probably woke me up the first time.
A gun has gone off.
"Evans!?" I yell slowly getting up. I can barely see anything because of the smoke and I start to cough. "Evans!"
I hear grunting and what sounds like scrappy fighting. Before I can locate it I hear a bang followed by a crash and footsteps running away. That's when I see a female from writhing on the ground. Evans.
"Evans!" I yell darting towards her.
"Reid?" She grunts out. "That was Larson. I couldn't stop her."
"Are you okay!?"
"I got clipped," She gasps out as she tries to get up. "We have to get out of here. Where are JJ and Prentiss?"
"Here!"
JJ's voice sounds through the room and a few seconds later she appears with Emily. They look fine bar a few cuts and bruises. Nothing major. It looks like Evans got the worst of it.
"Oh my gosh Mackenzie!" JJ exclaims seeing Evans who was struggling to stand.
"I hurt my leg and my side got clipped," Evans mumbles. "Larson beat me bad…"
Before she can say anything further Evans' legs buckle and I have to grab her. She's surprisingly light and I quickly swing her right arm over my shoulders. She clings on to me desperately to stay upright.
"If Larson and Doyle got out there must be another exit," Evans whimpers. "I think it's to the back of the room. That's where I saw Larson running."
"Okay," I say. "JJ help me with Evans and Emily lead the way."
Keeping Evans upright is a challenge. She was losing blood and by the time we finally find the exit through the rubble she was barely standing. Her legs finally give when we reach sunlight. I quickly lift her and carry her round the corner to where the cops are.
"Evans needs help!" I yell as Hotch sees us.
Barely a minute passes before a gurney is brought in. I lay Evans on it and I see the damage fully. Blood is gushing from her leg and side and she seems to have a very bad gash on her head. She starts to mumble.
"I tried to stop her… She over-powered me… My leg…" She mumbles. "Tried to get the gun but she… Couldn't…"
Evans' goes unconscious at that and we watch as the paramedics take her away. Hotch then turns to face us.
"Did you see where they went?" He asks.
"No. We used the same exit to get out as them but they must have slipped away via another route. The sewers maybe? Another building?" I theorise. "We didn't see them though but with the area we are in there are numerous ways they could have gotten away easily."
"Well it seems the Doyle and Larson have been up to more than just bombings," Hotch says and I see him glance behind him at the ambulance where Evans currently was. "Look we don't know how bad it is yet o how serious we should be taking it but you can't tell Evans."
"Hotch what's going on?" JJ asks confused.
"Blake and Garcia called while you were in the building," He says. "We have reason to believe Dante Larson is missing. He hasn't been to work for nearly four days. The last time people say him was at the end of his shift on Thursday night."
"You think Doyle and Larson have him don't you?" Emily says.
"Yes and I have a feeling that if we don't find him soon things may go badly," Hotch says solemnly. "Blake is on her way to the hospital so someone is with Evans but I think it would be best if you three got the once over before going back to the precinct."
"Yes sir," I say.
And with that we head to the second ambulance as the one with Evans in it has left. As I sit down awkwardly in the back a feeling of unease settles in my stomach. Something was seriously off here and I just hope we can find Dante before things are too late.
Because if we don't Mackenzie may finally break.
