Rayne's Point of View

Sitting outside by the fire alongside Octavia we where waiting for word from the Commander and Clarke on what we were to do next. Clarke had been pleading with Lexa to stop me from joining in on the battle however she should have known better. It was the 'grounder' way of life to fight no matter what, me being pregnant wasn't about to stop me.

"I still can't believe she is walking around so smug like she did nothing wrong. She just keeps acting like what she did was ok, like what she's doing is fine." Octavia soon began to rant.

"If there's one thing I've noticed it's that karma always seems to win. Look at Finn prime example, hell Bellamy and I… we thought everything was going perfectly than bam… separated and we may never see each other again." I told her.

"Don't say that, we will see Bellamy again… if Clarke didn't totally screw everything up."

"Hey, be nice." I teasingly punched her in the arm.

I felt Octavia kick my leg almost causing my head to give way as I had my elbows perched on my knees holding my head up. "What the hell?" I hissed at her. "The queen has emerged." She snapped.

"O' we talked about this, give her a break. She did what she had to do."

"No, she did what she always does and then act like she was doing us a favor… I'm done with it, she nearly got us killed, and she sent Bellamy to die… how can you be ok with that? Your baby will grow up without a father." She ranted.

"No, the baby will have its father. I have faith Bellamy will return to us."

"He had better or Clarke better hope… her grounder girlfriend takes me out before I can get at her."

"Do you need a time out lil'warrior?" I asked her as she smirked. "Shut up." She laughed as Clarke soon joined us sitting next to me.

"Everything ok?" Clarke asked Octavia noticing the disgruntled look of pure rage on her face.

"Well considering everything that's happened since the circle of fire… no. My friends are captured in a Mountain full of people trying to kill them, my brother was sent there to die, my best friend is pregnant which is the only good news however she would have died had it not all been because of you."

"What do you mean all because of me?" Clarke asked her.

"The missile?" Octavia referred to. "Ray would have been killed, so would I actually, our friends in Mount Weather, also your fault, Bellamy in there… your fault… I mean if you had only shut up and let the adults take care of things…"

"The adults… didn't come down till after the grounders attacked out camp Octavia and you know that." She came back at her as I slowly took a sip of water watching silently as the two girls fought in whispers.

"Funny, I distinctively remember Bellamy and Rayne coming to Earth with the group… those where the adults I was talking about, but no you always had to stick your damn nose into everything… what because your mommy was in charge on the Ark?" Octavia spat.

"I did—" I cut Clarke off, "Enough. Octavia, I love you but we talked about this… leave her alone, what's done is done now we move forward." I snapped at them as the two girls looked away from each other.

"I did what I did to save your brother… her child's father. So that we could win this war." Clarke added.

"Oh bullshit… you just found out about the baby yesterday, a day after the attack on Tondc…" Octavia battled back.

"Ladies!" I shouted at them.

"No. Ray, you and I both know Clarke did what she did to be selfish. Neither you nor Bellamy would have told her to kill hundreds to save yourselves. So if she even tries to use the line she did it to protect Bellamy… I swear…" Octavia said her voice filled with warning.

"And I couldn't take the risk of them knowing he was there, the acid fog is still up." Clarke explained as I felt my heart drop into my stomach, basically if the Acid Fog was down she would have had no issue letting Bellamy die in there.

And here I was defending her and protecting her from Octavia's blades. "Right." Octavia snapped, "Because you're in charge now, and you decide who is disposable. This is why I agree with Indra and the others, you should step down and let Rayne take your place as the voice of the Sky People."

I scoffed, "I no longer speak on the behalf of the Ark civilians, O' you and I took an oath with Indra… we are to fight as her blades." I explained, "Clarke is all they have in terms of a voice…until my father gets better or Abby takes her head out of her ass…" I growled.

Clarke looked over at me the hurt in her eyes trying to search my angry ones for answers as to why my entire demeanor towards her had changed. If only she had noticed that her words, actions, and secrets revealed more than she had probably intended for me to notice. She was never intending to get anyone out of the Mountain alive. I mean how where the grounders going to tell the difference between Mountain Man and Ark civilian anyway?

I turned to leave to go on my scouting mission with Lincoln that Indra had set both Octavia and I on. "You'd have fit right in on the council…" I heard Octavia snap at Clarke, I noticed Octavia following at my side as the two of us headed towards where we were to meet with Lincoln.

"Hey, girls…" Clarke's voice followed us as I closed my eyes for a moment taking in a deep breath.

"What?" Octavia snapped spinning around stopping Clarke dead in her tracks, as I had slowly turned to look at her too.

"You can't tell anyone." Clarke told Octavia as I felt a smirk grow on my lips that would be all she would have left to say to either of us. Pathetic really. No sorry, nothing to do with how she felt remorse or anything. Just that Octavia needed to keep her silence.

"If people found out—" She continued to say before Octavia cut her off, "The alliance will break. I'm not an idiot, Clarke. Rayne already talked to me about this, talked to me when she came to save me." Octavia snapped at her again.

Octavia turned around to continued walking as I looked at Clarke shaking my head, "I expected so much more from you Clarke, you know our people's lives before theirs… you never intending Bellamy to return to us… you knew he was going to die in there the whole time and you sent him anyway… knowing it was a risk to our friendship. Or was your intent to never tell me about that hiccup?" I asked her as she looked to her feet.

"Don't worry, that was rhetorical anyway." I snarled at her before walking away from her too joining myself next to Octavia as she greeted the Commander.

"Octavia, Rayne." She announced.

"It is time for the southernmost guard post's rotation." Lexa informed us. "You should relieve them, Octavia." The man who'd recently replaced Gustus announced his voice growing dark, my eyes switching between the man and Lexa suspiciously.

"Indra expects us to be on a scouting mission with Lincoln." I informed her.

"Now, Octavia is needed at the guard post." The guard told her again, "Indra will join her there shortly." Lexa nodded at her as Octavia turned to me arching her brow before heading off into the woods.

"Rayne you can continue on your scouting mission with Lincoln, staying careful of course… wouldn't want your child being endangered before it gets to experience battle." She told me cocking her head to the side, I turned around to look at Clarke.

"Really? When did my personal business become yours to share with whomever you pleased?" I asked her.

"I figured the Commander should know, one of her Clan leader's seconds was expecting." Clarke explained trying to take steps towards me.

"Stay away from me, and mind your own damn business… god what is your problem." I shouted at her before I walked off towards where I was supposed to meet up with Lincoln, even though something told me I should leave to keep and eye on Octavia.

I didn't trust Clarke anymore, which only told me to trust Lexa even less. There was no need to rotate the posts, so why she had felt the need to have Octavia a second to Indra take the post made no sense. Indra had even told us Seconds where to either go out on scouting missions or help out around the camp, not hold posts.

I ended up bumping into Clarke in the middle of the woods as I looked at her, "Don't trust your only friend?" I asked her startling her.

"Something told me she didn't send Octavia out here to watch the post." She told me.

"What told you that, the fact that the Commander would never order a post switch, or that Indra would never send her second to watch the camp?" I asked her.

Clarke let out a sigh, "The fact that Lexa heard Octavia and I fighting." She explained to me as I shook my head.

"Of course she did, nothing better to do but follow you around." I shook my head, "He's there." I told her as Clarke looked behind her at the guard posted behind the tree holding his arrow out aiming it at Octavia.

"You stop him Clarke, and make this right… now. I'll go get Octavia and bring her back to the camp." I told her as I began to walk away.

"I didn't mean it when I said I would have let Bellamy die in there." She told me.

Letting out a deep breath I turned around storming back towards Clarke, "What pissed me off Clarke is your constant disregard for anyone other than yourself, you sent Bellamy into the Mountain knowing he would probably die… you were going to let Octavia die, not to mention telling Lexa about my pregnancy that wasn't yours to tell anyone." I angrily said to her.

She looked to the ground and back to me, "I'll deal with the guard." She told me before she turned to leave. I quickly made my way towards Octavia to inform her that we where to leave and make out way back to the camp, which she looked more than confused that her post was so short. Constantly asking me why Indra had never met with her to do the post along side her as Lexa had told her. Which of course I had to explain to her why that was.

"I hate Clarke." Was all she had managed to say out of frustration.

Octavia and I stood outside once we had gotten back to the camp daylight had finally drawn. Moving so that we stood next to Indra and the few other seconds that had survived we noticed they where all looking up at the sky. There was a bright flare lingering up in the sky, Bellamy had done it… he disabled the Acid Fog.

I couldn't control the grin on my lips, I had never been so happy to see a light up in the sky. "He did it Ray!" Octavia cheered next to me taking hold of my arm jumping slightly.

"Calm yourselves." Indra said as we both turned to look at her, a clear grin tracing her lips. "Bellamy did it Indra…he saved us all." I told her.

"You picked a good man than." She told me.

"One of the best." I told her with a grin.

Octavia nudged me on the arm as we both looked up at the top of the hill where Lexa and Clarke both stood towering over everyone. The sight of Clarke was just making my blood boil; I still don't know what her deal was. Telling all my business to Lexa like it was her own secrets to be telling, who does that?

Two horns soon went off signaling that she was about to either speak or sound off that we march for war. The grounders all around us soon began to cheer with excitement. "To war!" She screamed as loud as she could as the crowds grew even louder than they had before.

The march into the forest began almost instantly with every grounder in the entire army assembled into one, this was the last time we would have to hear about the Mountain Men, I would get Bellamy back and this war would end. Finally.

Octavia and I marched through the woods along side Indra and the other remaining seconds on our way to the underground, we where tasked with taking the Reapers out and enter through the bottom of the Mountain make our way up to the rest of the army. Sound plan even though I had to admit I was skeptical of how we were going to get into the Mountain. Even more so with how Lincoln was going to react when he got anywhere close to those who had the red serum he so obviously still craved.

"Hey." Clarke said as she moved so that she was now standing in between the two of us.

"What do you want?" Snapped Octavia, as I looked over at Clarke myself shaking my head at her.

"I'm changing both your missions. You two are not going to the mines with Indra. I'm placing you in the rear guard, where you'll both be safe… the baby will be safe."

I scoffed as Octavia was now shaking her head, "Like hell you are." She told Clarke.

"We don't take our orders from you, Clarke." I reminded her. "We take them from Indra."

"I'm trying to protect you both." She told us as I swear I was about to laugh at the entirety of this subject. Clearly knowing Bellamy was in fact going to rejoin us soon she was scared of how he would react to everything she had done since he left.

"Protect us. Rayne you hear that? She's going to protect us." Octavia mused.

"One day, hopefully, you'll understand what I did." Clarke responded.

"Never. I'll fight this war with you now Clarke, because I want our friends back. But after that, we're done." Octavia seethed at her, as I placed a hand on her arm to calm her. "I'm to Octavia… once I get Bellamy back… we're done with pleasantries." I informed her.

"The Commander's looking for you." Indra joined us as she looked to Clarke, "What was that about?" She then asked us once Clarke had walked away.

"Clarke trying to reassign us to the rear guard." Octavia explained to her. "Needs to protect us and the baby."

"You're both warriors, you'll be in the mines with me." Indra explained.

"I know what bothers you. They knew about the missile." Indra explained, "Clarke passing around your personal joys as if they are her own."

"How could you not hate them?" Octavia asked her.

"Indra they where going to let us all die, and we would have had I not come and done something about it." I told her.

"They didn't do anything. The enemy did. Lexa's a great Commander because she's ruthless. That's why we'll win this battle." Indra explained.

"Clarke should be punished." Octavia said, "She will in time." Indra informed us before she raised her weapon and let out a mighty war cry before moving forward. Everyone around her soon let out the same harsh, loud cry. Octavia turning to look at me smiled, "Let's win this war, and get you and mini you back to Bellamy." She told me as I raised one of my swards screaming out along with the grounders with Octavia soon to follow in my lead. We would kill a great many Mountain Men tonight, they will have wished they answered to our demands.
