Bellamy's Point of View

Searing through the vent opening the shaft door into the room with the Acid Fog, it had only taken me two hours to navigate my way through the air ducts and ventilation systems. The blowtorch Vincent had handed to me was more than useful since I wasn't sure how else I was supposed to get into this stupid room.

Once I had removed vent and entered the room I instantly began to loom around the room for signs of anything that would or could possibly be the Acid Fog container. I noted many massive vats full of chemicals either labeled properly or with faded symbols.

Pulling out my gun out of the holster slowly making my way around the corner just incase there were any soldiers in the room that I hadn't been aware of in the first place. The room had one massively large tube in the center of the room, which seemed to be the primary focus of the entire room. Which lead me to believe that inside there was what had killed Atom.

Once I had noticed that the room was in fact clear I put the blowtorch down on a step moving further into the room with more caution. Noticing the door before me I realized that the moment I had started anything with this Acid Fog they would know where I am. I had to find a way to stop them from entering the room.

Walking around the room when I noticed the fire safety gear, the hose and the axe. Smashing the glass I took out the axe and made my way towards the doors that I had seen when I had fully entered the room. Climbing up the tubes till I was standing before the doors, smashing the keycard tag before slipping the axe in between the bars securing them in place. "Good." I sighed to myself.

"Come in, Raven. I made it." I stated into the radio. "I hope you have a plan."

"Still working on it." She said quickly, "However I do have news, Rayne, Octavia and the baby are safe. They are in the grounder camp waiting on us." I heard her say, however I had to replay what she had said in my mind over again.

Rayne, Octavia, and the Baby. What baby what did that mean? "Baby?" I croaked out feeling my throat dry up, "Octavia's pregnant?" I questioned, even though the thought of her in trawls with Lincoln had made me feel sick to my stomach.

"He didn't know?" I heard a voice question in the background, "That's awkward."

"Octavia? Why wouldn't she have told me?" I said feeling the anger rise in my body, clenching my hand into a fist. The second I got out of here and saw Lincoln I was going to kill him. I was already uncomfortable with the entire thought of him being with my sister, regardless of how happy he made her.

"Octavia?" Raven's voice questioned, "No; yours and Rayne's… we thought you knew… Abby mentioned it when she got in…" She informed me. "She said it as if it was a known thing."

Letting my hands drop to the side of my body, I felt the sheer excitement fill my body. I was going to be a father? Rayne, my Rayne was pregnant? I wasn't sure what to day or how to act; I just knew I wanted to get out of here even more than I had before. I needed to get to my family; family… I finally had one of my own. My mother, she would be so proud of me.

"Let's get this done, I want to be there when the baby comes." Was all I could say into the radio as I whipped away the few tears that had started to stain my cheeks.

"Perfect, give us something to go on." She told me. "What do you see?"

"Well, I see a huge steel vat. Looks like a submarine, some other tanks with chemical formulas and warning labels." I started to tell her as I continued to walk the length of the room along side the vat.

"Bunch of pipes running into the wall, Monitor." I said slowly; "Ohh, Go to the monitor." I heard Wick's excitable voice shout into the radio.

Squinting my eyes at the loud pitch of his voice; "Hello to you, too." I explained to him.

"Don't mind Wick. He's not really helping." Raven explained to me, all I could do was roll my eyes at the banter between the two.

"Hey, Bellamy. How's my boy Monty doing?" Wick asked me as I let out a deep breath. "Fine. But I don't know for how long." I explained to him staring at the confusing monitor in front of me.

"Great. Pleasantries over. Listen, if that monitor is a control panel, we can use it to kill this thing." He told me as I nodded to myself.

Staring at the screen with even more confusion, still completely unsure of what it was I was even looking at, "Look for a PH scale." Wick's voice started up again in my head.

"Right. It has a scale, but the rest…" I began to say to them. "Uh, S-3, V-2-0-5," I began to read out as confused as to what it was I was even reading. "H-2-S-2-0-7…" I continued.

Sighing out of frustration to the silence I was being met by the two of them, who where likely making fun of me for not knowing the same things they did. "Can't I just blow this thing?" I asked.

"No." I heard Raven say. "No, They'll know their defenses are down. They'll send a tech to fix it or reroute it or pull out some other weapon we don't even know about." Wick told me.

"Plus, you'd probably melt your face off." Allowing me to sigh heavily. "Look, you know I like a good explosion, but I'm not about to risk Rayne's wrath… she's not the same girl you left down here, she and Octavia have taken to the path of a warrior's and nope, not going to upset her."

"Warrior?" I questioned, what else had I missed since being in here. The fact that the woman I'm in love with is carrying my child, and the fact that both her and my sister where now considered Grounder Warriors.

"Yea, we gotta think our way through this one, Bellamy." Raven explained to me. "We can do this. Here we go."

I stood there staring at the monitor waiting for my instructions on how to navigate the thing before me, as I knew if I just started to click things I would for sure mess something up. "Uh, ok… Level Indicator?" I asked them reading off the things on the screen.

"Nope." Wick said annoyed, this was the fifth thing I had read off and it had still not been what we needed.

"Do you see an actuator anywhere?" Raven asked me causing me to grunt out of frustration. "I have no idea what that is." I told her.

"Alright, what else?" Wick asked me.

"Internal pressure sensor?" I sighed, "No." He said again.

"Uh, setpoint and alarm?" He chuckled, "Let's avoid that one."

"Maintenance and cleaning?" I questioned.

"Bellamy, go to that subdirectory. See if there's anything there that says 'Passivation.'", clicking on the screen I looked through the new list, "Ok, I'm on it." I told them.

"Got it." I told them with a slight amount of excitement. "Says, uh, 'Aqueous sodium Hydroxide bath'"

"That's a base. That'll neutralize the acid. Select that." Wick explained.

Pressing the button I watched as it began to load the screen telling me that it was in progress. "It's doing something."

"You should be able to hear the pump." Raven told me. "I can hear them." I told her. "The needle's moving. PH is rising, it's working."

I watched as the needle hit seven and in bold red letters it said that the Passivation was successful. "Passivation success." I told them feeling the grin widening with happiness, this just meant I was one step closer to my family. "All right, send a flare… let's get this started." I told them as I began to get ready to leave the room, head back to Maya's dad's. I started to get everything ready to leave the room and head back to Maya's dad when I had seen something from out of the corner of my eye, something that looked almost like it was purposely covered by dirt. Moving in closer to look at it I saw that it was a gauge much like the one that I had just seen on the screen behind me.

The moment I wiped away some of the dirt it revealed to me exactly what it was. They knew, the Mountain men knew I was in here, they knew what it was I was looking for trying to find. The PH hadn't changed like the screen had told me, they some how managed to change the screen on me. Moving backwards and rushing myself back towards the monitor I started to look for an answer.

"Raven, we've got a problem." I said into the radio, only to be met with static. Had they really taken off to celebrate? "Damnit, where are you?" I asked again smacking the monitor.

"Raven, I don't think the Acid Fog is down. Get word to Clarke. We have to stop the Army. Raven, Rayne is with them!" I shouted again only to be met with no response.

"Raven, what's going on?" I continued to ask hoping that if maybe I kept pestering her she'd answer me.

I watched as the needle on the screen slid back down to where the tip met the zero on the screen. They did know I was here, this confirmed it. I was staring at the screen with the upmost horror in my eyes as I begun to full realize what was happening. Rayne was amongst those marching towards the Mountain, and with the Acid Fog still completely working she was going to die, they where all going to die.

The banging on the door soon flooded my ears; they had probably been out there the entire time. Waiting for me to figure out what was going on, figure out they had bested me so far. They had wanted me to lose all hope and give in to their will, become the next person to turn into nothing but a test subject while all my people died.

I began to look around for anything I could use to disable this Acid Fog without having to use the systems they had screwed me with. Turning around I saw the giant vat labeled 'Flammable' I needed to find a way to release the oxygen contents into the room… they fire off any shots the room would explode.

Clutching the blowtorch I realized very quickly I wouldn't even need them to fire off any shots. Making my way towards the massive vat I quickly looked for a way to keep the flame going long enough to burn into the container and implode the contents on its own. I had to believe that this explosion would be damaging enough to disable the Acid Fog and bring the Army in.

Once I had finished what I was doing I made my way back towards the monitor they couldn't be suspicious of me or they would find the flame. They broke into the room shouting at me to drop my gun, however I wasn't going to let them take me. Not without a fight. I bolted back towards the vent that I had gotten into the room using first hiding behind the vat that held the blowtorch and flame waiting for as many of them to enter the room as possible.

"Show yourself. Hands first." One of them men yelled, ignoring them I faced the vent making my dash towards it climbing into it as quickly as I could hoping they wouldn't think to shoot at me, which they did. Once inside I quickly began to climb through it trying to distance myself from the room as fast as I could.

"Cease fire! Don't hit the tanks!" I heard the man yell, which was good it told me they wouldn't think to look at any of them for tampering.

I saw two of them peak their heads into the vent and quickly I began to unload both the guns at them, firing off bullets not at them but the tank that had the blowtorch attached to it. Hoping that I could burst it open quicker before they decided to follow me into the vents.

I had continued firing till my guns where completely and entirely out of ammo, which was scaring me it meant they now had the clear to come at me. I rolled over back so I was on my stomach and began to move forward through the vents not giving them the chance of catching up. I couldn't I refused to be caught by these people. I could hear them crawling in from behind me causing my heart rate to rise to the point I could feel it with pain as it hit my chest.

I heard and felt the explosion burst through the room and knew it was only a matter of time before the flames reached me in the vent forcing me to move as fast as I could to reach the end. I felt myself sliding at the end of the vent being launched downwards into a cold safe zone with the flames pushing upwards and out of the vent missing me.

I moved away from the center of the small room curling myself into a ball in case there was more coming after that, or the Acid Fog was on it's way since the room had been destroyed who knew what was released. The light ceased and I couldn't stop myself from coughing and hacking whatever smut it was that ended up in my mouth.

Stretching my body out I lay there looking upwards, I almost died. I could've died, in all actuality I should have died in that vent. Rayne's love, Rayne was all I had that was keeping me going in here. Now knowing that she was carrying my child it only made this mission, this escape that much more important that it had been before. I had to get out to them, no… I NEEDED to get out to them.

Nova's Point of View

Wondering around the desert as Jaha was ahead of us all using his stick to check for the mines and make a safe pathway for us all the journey through the desert cavern. John was in front of me, with the other two men walking behind me slowly. He held my hand in his as he slowly led the way.

"John, I'm scared. I don't want to die like those people did." I explained softly.

He stopped the four of us from walking to turn facing me better; "You wont die here, or like that, we're just stuck in some crappy ass desert for a short while longer… trust me we'll make it." He smiled.

"God Murphy you're so whipped, by this grounder." The man behind me chuckled.

"I'd rather it be her than anyone else, at least she doesn't lie to me about who she is." He snapped at the man allowing a soft smile to crawl onto my lips.

"Whatever man." The guy chuckled, maneuvering himself around both John and I. "Thank you." I told him softly as he nodded.

A few more steps further and John and I found ourselves in front of the man again as we had continued along the dirt path that Jaha was making for us all. With the heat of the sun barreling down on us, and reflecting off the sand I could feel myself heating up from all the hot air and glare of light.

"It's 4 mines down, infinity to go, Jaha." I heard John shout over to the leader.

"We will make it, John. You and Nova will make it with me through this journey look at all the tests we have already passed." He announced out loud as I put my hand on John's shoulder.

"What is he talking about? Tests, and Faith?" I asked him.

"Honestly, your better off not asking and just going with it." He informed me.

"I can't do this anymore." The one man behind us cried out in frustration. "Dude… calm down." John said turning around to look at the man.

"What do you think it is, anyway?" He said loud enough everyone around could hear him.

"I think it is another Mountain Man trick." I said angrily.

"I'm with her, what if it's those people in the Mountain that took the kids?" Another man asked.

"Well, I for one hope there's a shower. That would be nice right about now. Wash off the rest of Harris." John scoffed.

"Sienna said it's a place where everyone is welcome." Jaha told us.

"Sienna?" I questioned quietly, "You know her?" John asked me.

"Of her, the family passed through my Clan's territory on their way here…they where banished for not giving up their disfigured child…" I told him.

"That's messed up." John told me.

"I know, I've lost many good friends because of that law." I told him as he smiled softly at me. "Your Commander's really nice eh?" He asked.

"They want only the strong, and they fear the disfigurements stops them from being strong… it is a bit ridiculous." He nodded, "A bit."

"That'd be a first, wouldn't it?" John then called out towards Jaha.

"Ahh! I can't take this. It's right there!" The beside me began to scream again before he bolted off towards the lights. "Hey! Stop!" I shouted out.

"Richards, Stop!" John shouted to him as well capturing the attention of Jaha.

The man ran past the leader forcing the leader to chase after him tackling him to the ground, looking over at John I felt my stomach clench in fear. I hated to admit it but these four men had become my new Clan, my people, I still felt that strong urge to protect them.

"We should catch up with them quickly, get out of this death trap as fast as possible." I spoke up. "I'm with your woman John." The other man said from next to me.

"Alright, then lets to this." John said as he continued along the path. "They just fell short of a mine…" The man with us commented.

"This is going to add to his madness isn't it?" I asked John.

He turned to me smirking, "Of course it is."

We where steps away from a steel sign stuck in the center of the ground, and the edge of the cliff when I could feel John's grip tighten around my hand. A few more steps and we where ready to get to the lights over the ridge. I had to admit I was very excited about this new journey I was taking, happy that I had found John and his people. My people.

Jaha had finally stepped past the steel sigh before us staring at it with joy beaming from his eyes. "What is it, Jaha?" I asked him.

John tugged on my hand leading me towards where Jaha was now standing staring at the sign. Once we had finished walking and took our place on either side of Jaha we looked at the sign he was staring at.

'Warning Mines'

We had passed by all the mines? We were safe now? I let my arms wrap around John's waist as he let his wrap around me as well. "Told you we would make it." He whispered to me.

"Another test passed." Jaha told us. "We made it. Come on." He said as he guided us towards the sand dunes before us as the four of us along with our leader had began our accent up the mountain of sand to see what was waiting for us on the other side.

I had managed to get to the top before the boys had staring out before me with heaps and loads of disappointment as I looked out at all the tall metal structures all over the sand. This was the same technology as the Mountain Men, however it looked broken and unused… was this where they had come from?

"Are you kidding me?" John said as he stood up next to me on the top of the hill. "Are you kidding me? This is it?" He started to shout as I took his hand in mine in an attempt to comfort him.

Waiting in the dark before the sandstorm we'd eaten the last of our food, drank the last of our water, we had no means to travel back to the wood clans. I wouldn't even be taken back I would be branded as a traitor now and likely killed on site if I even did go back.

"This is what we crossed a desert to find?" John questioned as I pointed out towards the ocean before us. "If someone went back to get your people, they would be safer here from both the Mountain men and my people." I told him, "The Commander would never waste her time with this journey." I informed them.

"No one would make it back alive." He told me raising his voice causing me to move away from him slightly as he reached out to pull me back, "Sorry. I'm just… this is frustrating."

"It can't be what we travelled this way for." Jaha said softly.

"Well, guess what? Your enlightened society? It's not a city, it's nothing." John snapped at him.

"I flew down from space, I defied death, it was all for a reason. It has to be." Jaha rambled on as I stood there panting from the run up the hill.

Finally down the hill we had started to walk through the desert looking at the tall rusted structures sticking out of the sand. Still clutching John's hand as he walked along side me through the blistering heat, he let go of my hand moving towards one of the structures. "What a joke."

"It doesn't make any sense. The rest of the world is broken, but these panels are intact." Jaha inquired.

"Well, we can fix that." John told him as he threw a weighted stone directly at one of the massive panels still sitting on top of the structures. "John!" I called to him as he looked back at me with a grin.

While he was still facing me happy about the fact that he had damaged one of the few panels, I noticed a small machine lift off the top of the tower before us. Pointing at it I asked them, "What is that?"

As it moved closer I felt my entire body fill with panic and fear, "Mountain Men…." I growled as John protectively wrapped his arm around me. "It's not, it can't be." He whispered to me.

The flying machine began to fly off towards the water that was off in the distance, why it was doing such a thing was beyond me. Was it trying to lead us to the water? Was it taking us to where a group of Mountain Men where? So many questions began to swim around in my head as I watched the machine move away.

"It's a drone." Jaha said pulling me from my thoughts as he begun to walk towards where the 'drone' had flown off too. "Don't lose sight of it." He then said before breaking off into a sprint with the four of us following him in tow.

Reaching the waters edge we where met by a small boat, I suppose this thing was wanting us to go out into the water to kill us. The only Clan I knew about that went anywhere close to the water like this was Luna's Clan. My brother was always fond of her and her leading styles, she was supposed to be meeting with all the Clan leaders, and seconds in Tondc a few days ago to gather for the war. I just hoped her and Indra got along, I knew the two where not exactly fond of each other. Much like the Commander wasn't fond of the leader of the snow clans.

"Where's it going?" One of the men asked as Jaha told them he hadn't known, then explained how we were going to follow it. Which I supposed was a given considering his desires to get to the City of Lights.

"Tell me, what level of crazy is too much for you?" John asked him as he threw his arm around my waist looking at Jaha. "I'm just curious."

"We need a boat… and a boat appears. This is our destiny. The City of Light is out there and we are gonna find it. Now, get in the boat."

"You heard the man." John said with a soft bit of humor and disbelief in his voice as he told the two men and I to get into the boat. He had helped me climb into it, taking his seat next to me with Jaha behind us and the other two men in front of us holding the oars.

The men began to row into the water pushing the boat further into the sea, I kept my eyes behind them fixated on the land we had left behind. I never dreamed of steering this far away from my lands, the people, my Clan. I was more than fearful of this voyage, of what was going to happen to us, to me. What was the drone leading us towards? The question was swelling in my mind filling me with fear and doubt. John's hand holding mine was the only thing that was still holding me firmly in place. He was the only thing I didn't need to question, something told me that with him by my side I didn't need to fear anything.
