Nova's Point of View
Sitting in the boat next to John I felt safe and at ease and yet I knew deep down this journey was never going to be as easy as hopping into a small boat and floating across the water to a new world. It was never going to be that easy, Indra had always instilled in me that things that are easy… should be feared.
I looked at John watching as he too seemed to be deep I thought looking around himself at the fast amounts of water around us. "I don't like this." He whispered to me.
"I will protect you." I informed him as I showed him my sword that was still sheathed. I still wasn't sure how they had all managed to lose the weapons I had brought them but I knew to keep my sword close to me. It was as much apart of me as the hair on my head.
"You could give it to me? Let me protect you for once." He offered softly.
"You getting injured will cause me nothing but pain, knowing I could have stopped it." I told him my voice growing cold.
"You getting hurt will do the same to me, crappy little road block we have here don't we?" He chuckled.
"Murph you trying to romance a grounder is making me sick." One of the two men rowing had spoken up.
"Shut the hell up!" John shouted at him as I placed my arm across the chest causing him to sit back shaking his head. "It's not your business who I want in life." Het snapped at the man.
"Silence, stop the bickering." Jaha announced.
I looked forward at Jaha who seemed to be hanging over the edge of the boat looking sickly and pale. "Yo, Ahab. Come back and get some rest." John told him.
"I'm fine." Jaha seemed to mumble.
"Oh, Screw this." The younger man said from in front me as I arched my brow at him. "What?" I asked.
"If you're not gonna sleep, you can row." He said pushing the oar into my hands. John swiftly ripped it away from my hands, "Get back on that oar, Craig." I heard Jaha's voice snap as I looked up at the man who was now nearly completely turned around.
"Or what?" 'Craig' tested. "We don't even know if we're going in the right direction anymore."
"So you pass the oar off to Nova?" John snapped. "I hadn't meant it for her, I was just passing it off. F!ck Murphy stop acting like everything we say to her is a jab." Craig yelled at him.
"Because it is a jab at her!" John shouted back.
"We would be dead if she hadn't come and brought that water and food. As far as I'm concerned she's one of us." Craig told him.
"You're alone in that regard." Richards said softly.
"Look, we followed that drone across the open ocean." Craig commented. "Hell, we deserve to die out here."
"Look, it's fine. Rest, I'll row." John shook his head.
"Land?" I questioned pointing out in front of us. "She's right land!" Richards yelled out.
"Yea!" john out stretched his arms as he yelled and cheered, as everyone had began to laugh and cheer. I sat there staring straight forward at the light ahead of us. There was not one single comforting thing about this entire thing. I felt scared, worried. This whole thing just seemed so odd, so prepared.
"How does an Island of Light sound to you, John huh?" Jaha asked him as his eyes locked with my concerned ones.
They had just instead continued to laugh as the entire boat shook sloshing it side to side violently. I looked back as Richard leaned over the side of the boat to see what it was that had caused the thud we had all heard.
"Damn it!" Richards yelled as I looked back again seeing he had lost his oar. "What was that?" Craig asked looking between us all.
"Get that oar. Get it!" Jaha pointed to the Oar that Richards had lost.
The boat was rocked again, "Richards!" Craig yelled. "There's something in the water!"
"The Oar!" Jaha screamed about again.
Right when he had said that with all three of us reaching over the edge to grab the man out of the water, we watched as something wrapped itself around the man dragging him away screaming. Blood trailing away from in the direction that he was being ripped away from us. The air soon filled with roars of the creature in the water. "What is that?" Craig looked to me asking.
"When I was a child my mother had spoke of a monster so great in size, with long razor sharp rope like legs that would feast on anyone who dared to enter its home. However I don't know if this is it, or if is even a water monster." I told him quickly as I was looking around fearfully.
"My arm. F!ck! My arm." John had begun to yell as I felt Jaha take hold of me pulling me back and towards John. "Take care of him." He ordered me.
"Where is it I don't see it!" Craig had started yelling. "Richards! Richards!" Craig continued to yell as I picked up the head wrap that Jaha had, had on his head when they where in the desert turning back around to John.
"I don't mean to hurt you." I told him moving closer to him covering him from the water that was falling on us every few seconds before I tightly wrapped his arm to stop the blood from flowing anymore from his arms.
"What was that?" I asked looking back at Jaha. "Don't worry we need to row, now." He told me as I nodded.
I sat in a spot so that John's head was resting on my lap. "Stay down." I whispered to him as he nodded.
It smacked the bottom of the boat causing John to jolt upwards. "It's back!" John shouted. "Where is it?" Craig yelled.
"Jaha we have to do something now otherwise it's going to kill us all." I told him, my voice hushed.
"Craig, row!" He turned around yelling at the boy. "Row, Craig!" Jaha yelled again noticing the boy was just moving around looking for the beast. I had started shaking my head at the scene, me trying to row while this boy was about to capsize the boat was just panicking when we needed to be working as a team here.
"Craig, Row now! Nova can't do it alone!" Jaha yelled at the boy.
"We're gonna sink it hit the bottom!" Craig began to yell ignoring Jaha. "Do something! I won't let John die in this water like that." I shouted at Jaha.
"We're gonna sink… we're gonna sink." Craig began to chant to himself.
"Just kill him! This is useless we're all going to die!" I shouted out in my people's language, I was aware they didn't know what I was saying to them.
"We're all gonna die. We're all gonna die!" He continued to scream out as Jaha looked over at me. Almost as if he was asking me if what he was about to do was ok.
"I can do it, I can row with Nova." John said as I shook my head. "No rest." I commanded him.
Jaha turned around and threw Craig violently out of the boat into the water for the monster. "Hey! What the hell is wrong with you?" John screamed at him as Jaha grabbed him when John had moved to grab Craig from the water.
Which was when we all sat there in the boat watching as this massive snake like creature pushed Craig up and out of the water eating him hole. Quickly gobbling him up as it swallowed him stunning the three of us as we watched. "What the hell is—" John had begun to say as I looked over at Jaha.
"We need to go now, before it gets hungry again." I stated.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" John shouted as Jaha, "Hold on." Jaha had said as if he was ignoring John all together.
"It's gone?" I questioned noticing the silence. "Yes, it is. Let's go." Jaha said as he pushed the paddle into the water looking back at me to do the same as we both rowed the boat towards the land.
"But why did you do that?" John asked him quietly from beside me.
"So we could live John, so you could experience happiness with you friend Nova. Happiness you would not have been able to see if I hadn't." Jaha explained to him.
Bellamy's Point of View
We had lost Rayne inside the Mountain still unsure of where she was being taken following where we thought they may have been taking her only to be lead all the way to the room I had first been brought to. Which only reminded me of the time when Lincoln was turned towards the red liquid and almost got me killed.
This was the way out and I knew I could easily send the others that way. However we still needed to find the others, save everyone else. Well in my mind I knew I needed to find and save Rayne first. Knowing she was carrying my child, selfishly I wanted to protect her and find her before I would get the others. I looked over at Monty as we walked through the room looking for clues or hints as to where they may have gone off too.
I could hear pounding on the door near by which had caught my attention. "Who the heck would be trying to get in here?" Monty asked me.
"Our people? The rescue?" Jasper questioned.
"I doubt it; if they have his wife the chances of your people coming to rescue you are slim. They took all the grounders and freed them… took all your people to level five… the grounders are not coming to help." Maya pointed out.
"Still begs the question of… who's outside the door." Monty perked up.
I opened the door to see both Octavia and Clarke standing outside the door staring at me. Their weapons drawn and aimed directly at me, "Bellamy!" Octavia shouted as she ran towards me wrapping her arms around my neck.
I looked over at Clarke who looked like she was about to cry. "Are you alright?" I asked her as I kept both my arms around my sister holding her close for the first time in weeks.
"Bellamy, I'm so sorry." Clarke had started to say as she whipped her face. "They took Rayne, I tried to stop them but Lexa made a deal—"
"Clarke I know we heard them taking her somewhere inside… they went down to the floor we where on by accident." I told her.
"I knew it, you two are too scrawny to drill." I heard Octavia say as I walked towards Clarke, "It's all right, O' she's with us." I told her as I turned around to see Maya walk out and into view.
"Well, we know Rayne's inside so where's your army?" I asked Clarke as she looked to the ground trying to fumble for the words in her head.
"Gone just like yours." She told me flatly with no emotions. "Say you have a plan. To get Rayne back, save the others, get us all out of this mountain." She said to me her voice breaking, as she sounded more and more defeated.
"Not really. We're going to need to talk to Dante. Maya says he's in Quarantine." I told her. "That could be where they took Rayne. If she's pregnant and they know about it, they wouldn't kill her for the bone marrow not till after the baby is born." Clarke shouted out as she ran towards the rest of us.
"You really think these sick people would care?" Monty asked Clarke.
"Dante would care, I remember when they where first watching you guys at your dropship Dante would always talk about how he wanted Clarke and Rayne taken in. Not to be bled or tested but because Clarke is very strong and reminds him of himself at that age, and Rayne… reminds him of his sons wife who died in child birth three years ago." Maya explained to us.
"We're getting her back now." Clarke announced to us rather harshly as she pushed past me to make her way back into the mountain. We soon heard beeping as Jasper and everyone began to crowed around Maya.
"30 minuets that's not possible we just changed her tank… Bellamy this is her last one." He said looking to me for answers when Clarke informed her that we would all go and look for another one for her.
"All the supplemental oxygen is on level 5." Maya explained to her.
"Then we have to get you to level 5." Jasper told her.
"5 isn't safe for any of us." Maya spoke again. "We'll take the trash chute again." Jasper told her. "It will work."
"To get in, maybe. Maya's right. Every soldier in this Mountain is there. We'll never make it out." I explained to them. "Not to mention we would have to break into teams, a team to get Maya oxygen and another to find Rayne. We have no idea how much time she has left if any at all." Clarke added.
"Just because we want to think they wouldn't hurt her, doesn't mean anything… you guys never thought they would hurt you and look how that turned out." She continued.
"Then we will have to split up." Jasper said his voice growing stern and filled with purpose.
"Ok, You guys go for Dante. We'll help Maya." Octavia announced as she stuck me with Clarke, which at this point wasn't something I wanted at all.
Not only had she basically let them take Rayne and bring her into this hellhole; but she had also lied to me about Octavia being in Tondc for the bombs. Rayne would forgive her for that but apart of me wasn't even sure I would be able to… she knew Rayne was pregnant she had to have known. Why wouldn't she have fought harder to keep her away from these people? Once we where all within the Mountain I shut the door behind me
Rayne's Point of View
Standing there between two guards I could only describe the feeling I was going through as confused, scared, and concerned. They brought me to this room where children and families where all standing about talking and chatting away with each other almost as if they had no care for what was going on, or happening to my people. Innocent people.
"Wow, the resemblance is almost uncanny." I heard a voice say before I had seen the face it belonged to. "My father was right, I guess. It happens from time to time."
The man was taller than Bellamy, but it could also just be how I was standing. His hair was neatly pushed back on the top of his head; he had a scar above his lip and these haunting dark brown eyes. Killers eyes, Indra had called them.
"That's fantastic." I snapped. "What do you want from me?" I asked him.
"Well, the doctors said your only five months along so I really want nothing from you for another four months. Then when your baby is eighteen… we'll take it from her too." He smirked. "Take what?" I had dreaded asking.
He leaned him closer to me his breath hot on my neck; "Your bone marrow." He told me, "However." He said some what loudly as he moved away from me.
"Seeing as by the time we might not even need yours, whatever my father has in store for you will be what happens to you. You're a lucky girl, if he hadn't figured out how to get Lexa to do what we wanted, what we expected of her… you would be on that table in there with the rest of your people… with child or not."
I had no word, no thoughts to describe what I was feeling. This was the type of sickness my friends had to deal with while they where locked up in here? No wonder Clarke got away when she could, she needed help getting them out regardless of this insane marrow need they seemed to have.
That must have been what the doctor had done to me earlier, when he scanned me. I was five months along… and it was a girl? These where things I had always hoped I would hear in the presence of my child's father. Not some sick bastard who seemed to enjoy killing innocent people for no reason other than greed and desire to go outside of this mountain.
They would never really have peace with the grounders, there would always be many of them who would still try and kill then for what they had been doing to their tribe's people. All those years of bleeding their people dry just so they could heal scars or colds. They would never really be completely safe outside these walls.
"Take her to my father up in Quarantine. I'm sure he'd love the company." He told his men as they both nodded turning me back around and leading me into the hallway behind us. On our way towards the elevator I could hear the screams and cries of all my people only causing my already emotionally broken body to feel as if it was crumbling onto the ground.
"You people are some kind of twisted." I muttered.
"You're people would do the same to us." One of the guards said.
"No, we would have offered to help in some way or another. Than we would have welcomed you all to join our camp… to form a new way of life for all our people… not killed children." I spat at him.
"Maybe, but that's probably also why the grounders abandoned your people… their weak and think everything can be solved with hugs." The other guard laughed.
"The moment… I get free… the only thing hugging you will be my knife inside your stomach… your wound hugging the blade."
"Oh, she's dark." The guard laughed, "It's probably a symptom of impending motherhood." The other offered as an explanation, all I knew was the moment I could… I was going to kill everyone and anyone who got in my way of saving my friends and finding Bellamy.
