Nova's Point of View
I slowly moved myself off John's lap and had begun to look around the small home. I'd never seen anything like this before; there was warmth to the entire room that I hadn't really experienced before. Maybe it was the weird things on the walls or the colors. I was just used to a much more rustic living. This is what John's home in the sky must have looked like before they fell. They did share a lot in common with the mountain men; this isn't such a far cry from their homes.
I turned around to speak to him when I noticed he was staring at the couch. "What is it?" I asked slowly.
"The guy in the video… that's where he must have died." He told me his voice shaky yet he very obviously was trying to hide it with the stern look locked onto his face.
'Containment door sealed.'
I looked over at John watching as he ran towards the doors we had entered. "John?" I called out to him, sure I understood what she said however I didn't understand what it meant.
"Oh come on!" I heard him yell causing me to jump. Normally I wasn't so withdrawn, scared; however I had never been this far away from my people, from what I would refer to as safe. I could hear John slamming his fists on the door in anger. Guess that's what she meant by the doors where sealed.
"Chris! Where are you, man?" I heard as my head spun back towards the large screen, than to the doorway where John was once again in my view. "Chris? Chris?"
The screen soon showed two men entering the room the moving towards the dead mans body on the couch making this feel all too real. "I don't understand." I softly said as I felt John wrap an arm around me. "It'll be alright." He told me as we continued to watch the video.
John than knelt down next to the couch as he picked something up. Moving around the room looking for something to open the door with. I for the first time in a long time just stood aside feeling as useless as the odd drawling on the walls of this bunker.
The days had begun passing by as I watched John slowly deteriorate into madness, nothing stopped his relentless pursuit of trying to break the door open. When that had finally proven to be a worthless attempt he seemed to have finally tried just accepting what I was accepting.
We were trapped in here.
"At least we're together, right Nova?" He asked as his voice blipped up in a hiccup. He was drunk once again, not that I was surprised or shocked. I could only wish their drinks had this effect on me, I just found it to be like water compared to our celebration drinks.
"Of course." I told him as I stroked his now tattered and messy hair back as he laid there his head on my lap. "That was the promise I had made you." I smiled to him.
"Do you regret coming out this way with me and not staying with your people?" He asked yawning.
"No, of course not. They would have never followed me as they followed Lexa. I may be a born leader, chosen but I have no desire to see death as she does. I believe we can have peace as we once had many years ago. Lexa, she thinks your people… any people unlike our clans or even the clans we share peace with are not deserving of life… that is the mind set my peoples leader needs."
"That's messed up." He chuckled.
"One way to put it." I said following in his laughter.
Time seems to have past by to a point where I wasn't even sure if we were still in a bunker or if this was some sick trick the mountain men where playing on us… that this was all just some twisted illusion. All I knew was I had John by my side that he was the only thing that was real anymore. This couch we where laying on in each other's arms was probably not even here. Nothing was real.
Weeks had begun to pass, I don't even think I had left the couch if not to use the bathroom. It was the only place that I had felt safe anymore. John was going insane, throwing things and screaming. Sometimes he would even ask me if I was alive or in his mind.
We were broken.
Finally he pulled me onto the floor with him, three months had past. John had said he was keeping count. He pulled me close to him, whipping the fear tears I had linger on my cheeks away. Holding a small thing he called a camera in his hand. "You are far too beautiful for tears Nova don't cry." He told me trying to hide the fact that he too was crying.
"Ready?" He asked me as I nodded, he pressed a button making sure we were both in frame. "86 days, on our, um, last box of food, so—" He said taking in deep breaths before slowly turning to me kissing the side of my head softly. "Really never thought I'd miss the Ark this much, and by the way Jaha if your seeing this that would me that we're not dead and so screw you!" He screamed at the camera before throwing it to the other side of the room. I pulled him close to me as we both sat there practically falling apart in each others arms.
"I failed you Nova. I told you I would keep you safe and I failed you." He whimpered. "I am safe, I'm with you." I told him softly letting my voice crack ever so slightly.
"Maybe this is the only way." He said pulling the gun out from under the couch, that must have been what he grabbed the night we were watching the video of Chris when we got here.
"No, there's always another way."
"It wont be so bad, Nova… I'll do you first… than I'll join you. It'll be quick but at least we will be together." He said trying more to convince himself than me. "No there is always another way John… please." I begged him as I held him tightly only letting go till I heard the gun fall to the ground.
"We can't live like this its not even living Nova." He cried.
"I know, but we'll find a way…" I said, "That's not the way we're going to die."
'Containment door released.'
John pulled me up quickly rushing us both up and towards the doors we had entered pushing them open and pulling us both outside to where the air was. The fresh air, not the recycled processed air from the bunker. "Thank god I had you… there's no way I would have dropped that gun without you." I smiled at him.
"Yes you would have, you're a lot stronger than you let yourself believe."
I watched as John's head shot up towards the sky as one of the drones buzzed by us. "We have to follow that." He told me as I nodded, rushing quickly behind him through the deep wood before finally landing on a wide-open field. "Not another house." I spoke to him panting out of breath
Yet that seemed to be where all the drones where going towards, like it was their home. John quickly grabbed my arm pulling me quickly towards the giant house, once inside the place I slipped to the ground the floor was so clean, too clean almost. This to me was all to strange.
"John, Nova." I heard Jaha's voice as I reached for John's hand as he pulled me up to my feet pushing me behind him slightly. "No need for that, your both safe here. I'm here to welcome you both the three of us, we have so much to talk about and yet so little time." He finished saying as he walked towards us.
"What?" I questioned. "I found it." Jaha said ignoring me, "The city of light is real." He said as John took a swing at Jaha.
"You nearly got Nova and I killed!" He shouted swinging at him, before succumbing to his wounds from our lack of any basic need. "Save him…" I pleaded with Jaha as he smiled; "Of course… come this way." He smiled to me, something sinister was going on here, I could feel it in my very core.
Rayne's Point of View
The last three months had been intense to say the least, I lost the baby during a grounder raid nearly a month after we lost Clarke. Why she left I still really don't understand, I wanted more than anything for her to be back here with us where she belonged.
"Hey." I heard a voice peep up from in front of me; I had also stopped all my training in the medicine field, had started training to fight along side Octavia and a few others. Gina here was one of the few that seemed to look at me like some sort of savior to our people. I wasn't; that glory was all Clarke's.
"Gina, what's up?" I asked turning around to face the girl.
"Just checking up on you, you haven't been the same since you know the whole mountain ordeal." She commented.
Not the first time I've heard that, my dad said the same thing. He thinks since the entire fight in the mountain the almost losing Bellamy… changed me. I think it really just sparked what was already there, a drive that was dormant when we where up in the Ark.
"I'm fine really, I do appreciate you asking." I told her, "I'm surprised you and Bellamy are taking the baby thing so lightly." I stood up, "Gina, don't." I told her before nearly slamming the cup in my hand on the ground and storming off to search for Bellamy. That was one thing I didn't like having brought up. The baby. That was something tragic, something that only Bellamy and I shared… it was our pain and no one else's.
Walking into the room where the boys where training showing others how to fight, to protect themselves. I couldn't help but let out a small laugh as Lincoln had Bellamy in submission moving his head up to look at me, as I nodded to him still standing behind all the others watching with my arms crossed over my chest.
"He had me, but he was too aggressive." Lincoln started to explain to them, "Yea whatever you say, I was just distracted." Bellamy said as his eyes locked onto mine.
"Quitting so soon, cause the wife is here?" Lincoln teased.
"Don't stop on my account." I said raising my hands up in defense causing the group of youth to laugh. "Mapping out sector seven." He said as to my dismay he began to put his shirt back on over his head.
"Harper, lets get this over with." Bellamy called to her as I walked towards him. "We need to talk." I told him as soon as I had reached him; he just nodded probably already knowing what it was about.
I moved along side Bellamy as soon as he'd wrapped his arm around my waist. "Council wants you to have that." Bellamy told Lincoln referring to the bag Harper had handed to him.
"One of us, one of us." I had chanted softly causing Lincoln to smirk.
"I'm Trikru." He told us both, "Uniform doesn't change that," Bellamy told him. "You're one of us regardless Lincoln, always have a place here." I spoke softly.
"This is our home now Lincoln, we fought for it. Too many of our friends died for it. In the Ark this uniform meant something different. Down here, it means what we make it mean together." Bellamy began his speech. Something he would do a lot lately since we had really begun to make the camp our home.
Bellamy soon pulled me to leave the training space holding me closely. "I would have thought you'd be gearing up to go out." He told me, "I was till your biggest fan decided to you know, bring up my failure as a woman once again." I snapped.
"Baby; I know Gina is a bit much and you know I have eyes only for you… do you want me to talk to her?" He stopped me from walking, I was facing him our eyes once again locked. He knew I was upset, jealous even, but in seeing me upset he was also to hurt by the girls words.
"No, last thing we need is her twisting what you say to her again. The last time was hard enough." I told him. "I know, I know." He soothed pulling me close.
"It's just… Bells this is our pain to deal with, and with others prodding and trying to pull us apart it doesn't help." I said clutching the back of his shirt tightly.
"I could always marry you tomorrow… even down here that stands for something." He told me.
"Don't joke Bellamy." I sighed as I began to walk away, "I'm not joking." He told me pulling me back. "Hell, we don't even need Abbey to ok it or preform the rights… your mine, and I'm yours regardless of a title." He said.
"So sappy." I smiled, "Thanks." I told him softly.
"For relaxing you, anytime… you do it enough for me after training." He smirked, "Sappy, cheeky and a pervery… my man." I rolled my eyes as he laughed walking with me further down the halls.
"Is what Lincoln said to you earlier true?" I asked him my tone becoming more serious. "About being close to the Ice Nation border? You caught that?" He asked.
I nodded; "Bellamy, I don't care about that… I care about finding Clarke. I should never have let her leave." I told him.
"That's on both of us not just you… and yes it is and from what he told me that Nation may not respect Lexa's cease fire… he wanted to be on the scout with me, he knows if anything happens to me he has you to deal with… apparently you're scary angry."
I rolled my eyes; "Funny the native warrior can see how 'scary' I am but some dumb girl can't… this amazes me." I sassed.
"Don't be jealous." He teased.
We opened the door to Abbey's quarters only to find her asleep on the couch, and my father standing near by scouting out a map. "This is the first sleep the Chancellor's had in two days." He pointed out to us, "Hey dad." I sassed as he just smiled to me.
"We'll be quick then. I'm going into sector 7 I think we should arm the entire unit." Bellamy requested.
"Permission granted, but the rules of engagement still apply non-lethal response and she stays here."
"Copy that." Bellamy commented. "Oh no, I'm going. Clarke could be out there dad, I promised Abbey I would bring her home." I commented.
"No is no Ray… you stay." Kane told me as Bellamy took me by the arm to lead me away. "There hasn't been an attack since Mount Weather it's three months, our people believe that this is real peace. Try not to screw that up." Kane explained to Bellamy as I just stood there.
I wanted to yell something out about how much of a farce we were living thinking we had any sort of peace… however Abbey needed as much inner peace as she needed till I could find Clarke. So I kept my mouth shut.
I looked over at Bellamy as the two of us began to walk down the hallway; "You know I'm coming with you right?" I explained to him, "I know, why do you think I didn't argue him." He chuckled.
