Chapter 22!

Rins new life, Sesshomaru's acceptance

It had been over a month since she got her new Hanyou self. She and Sesshomaru weren't speaking after he saw Rins new set of umm—ears. "Rin are you ok- OH MY GOD…" "Sesshomaru darling, aren't they great?!" "OH I have to go!"

Since then, they have not uttered a word to one another. After putting the twins to bed, Rin paced the bedroom floor, as Sesshomaru's silence was getting to her. He did not even sleep in the Master Bedroom with her anymore. He usually spend his time in his study, only coming out to hunt at night.

She sighed and plopped down on the bed. She had a feeling Sesshomaru would react this way. She just didn't think it would go on for so long. She was lonely, and sad. Rin curled up under the covers and cried herself to sleep. She wondered if Sesshomaru could feel her pain right now.

Sesshomaru's study…

He could feel it alright. As he tried to do paperwork, since he owned the lands now and was in charge of the small village that caught fire a week ago. He was not King of the lands. He tried to focus on food supplies, but all he could feel was sadness, Rins sadness. He knew she was up there crying, but was too stubborn to admit it out loud. Every day his soul would ache more and more. Since Rin and his soul was connected, he would shed tears as well. He couldn't ignore her forever. H sighed and tapped his pen on his desk repetitively, trying to decide what to do. He then made up his mind and headed upstairs.

After kissing his sleeping children on their foreheads, he went into the Master bedroom to find it quiet. He lifted up the sheets to find them empty! He panicked and looked out the window to find Rin outside training debt at night. 'I suppose she could not sleep.' Sesshomaru thought, jumping out of the window.

It was so weird to see Rin with dog ears. It was going to take some getting used to. On the plus side, they were rather cute on her. He sighed and realized that ignoring his wife was a very stupid thing to do.

'I have her for centuries now not having to worry about her aging. Yet here I am, not paying any attention to her and her needs.' Sesshomaru went on and on in his head, telling himself how stupid and ignorant he was to ignore his wife of 2 years. He went over and sat behind her on the grass. Rin looked over and ignored him and continued training. "Rin…" Sesshomaru finally uttered, as he didn't know how to apologize. Rin stopped and looked over at Sesshomaru. She whipped her brow with a towel and finally replied.

"What is it dear? I am trying to train." Sesshomaru rose and replied. "I am well aware of your actions right now, but there is something we must discuss." Rin rolled her eyes and replied. "Well then, what is it?" "I know you have been very sad lately of my ignorance and absence. I wanted to apologize for it."

"What? I haven't been sad." Rin was totally lying. She missed Sesshomaru's warmth. She missed his kiss, and the way he made love to her. Sesshomaru frowned and replied. "I don't think you can hide it anymore. Our
souls are connected Rin; I feel your pain every day." Rin sighed in defeat, knowing she could never lie to him anymore. She sat on the grass and spoke. "You really hurt me…. It hurts when you're not around." Sesshomaru frowned and sat beside Rin and pulled her close. "I am sorry I have made you feel like that. I was just surprised you had – those…" Rin frowned and buried her face in his fluff. "They're ugly aren't they?" She said, as tears streamed down her face. Sesshomaru frowned and lifted up her head, and wiped her tears away. "No not at all, they're beautiful." "No, you hate them…"

"Rin… I don't hate them, it will just take some getting used to." Rin sniffed and replied. "Am I not pretty enough or you anymore? Is it because I popped out two kids and I am no longer attractive?" "Rin stop your foolishness right now. You are as beautiful as he day you turned 16, and as beautiful as our first night."

Rin sniffed and lightened up with a smile. She then replied. "Really? You meant that?" Sesshomaru smiled and replied. "YES, I mean every word. Now, let's go to bed and get some sleep." "Oh, you're finally tired of the couch down stairs?" Sesshomaru smiled and lifted her into his arms with a smirk.

"Sure, that to." Rin laughed, realizing what Sesshomaru wanted to do. "Sesshomaru! You're awful!"

"Ah-ha." Sesshomaru and Rin made love all night. It was the first time he laughed and giggled in 100 years.

The next day…

Master Jaken was very confused. After a month of silence, he had no idea what happened. All of a sudden, Sesshomaru and Rin were at it like animals. Kissing, touching, and groping while the twins played outside. Just then, Master Jaken saw something coming from the distance. It appeared to be an army of some sort. "Uhh, my lord?" Sesshomaru swatted his hand while making out with Rin on the porch swing, gesturing the imp to buzz off. As Sesshomaru put his hand up Rins dress, the imp spoke again. "My lord! There is something strange coming from the distance!" Sesshomaru pulled away and picked Master Jaken up by the scruff of his neck "This better be important!" "Look Me lord, just look…"

Sesshomaru turned his head toward the distance. He saw the army too. He dropped the imp to the ground and stood in front of the oncoming army. It was an army of human men. They use to attack the small village daily that Sesshomaru had taken over. Sesshomaru had the village guarded by demons who fought on him and his father's side long ago. They were an army of evil thieves, who were mad about losing half of their men from the demons who protected the village. Poor idiots, they don't know what's in store for them.

"You there!" The leader shouted, getting off his horse. "May you be the demon Sesshomaru who is protecting the pathetic village in the west?" Sesshomaru smirked and walked up to the army with no fear, gripping bakusaiga in his hand. He then replied. "Yes, what is your business here? You are disturbing my time with my family here." "Were sorry, but we don't appreciate you killing our men."

"Well I don't appreciate man killing innocent people." The leader frowned and shouted at Sesshomaru.

"You have no right!" "I do actually. You see I signed a peace treaty with another demon on the other side of this land. We own it together and protect all living things who reside in it. So you are trespassing on our land. So you can leave peacefully now, or I will kill you all." The thieves were insulted and mad.

"There are 30 of us, and one of you." "Rin, get Sangotsu. Jaken, take the twins inside." "OH, yes my lord. Come along you two. ""Yes Master Jaken." Both twins said, following the imp inside. Rin smiled and threw on her demon slayer outfit on and held Sangotsu close to herself, joining Sesshomaru's side.

"I will give you all one more chance to walk away in peace." The thieves attacked, aiming for Rin. She smiled and threw Sangotsu at them, knocking them out. Sesshomaru decided to be non-violent and joined in, just beating them up like Rin was doing. She wasn't killing them, he might as well not.

After beating them all up, Rin and Sesshomaru backed up and smiled. Sesshomaru then spoke again.

"Have we made ourselves clear?" "Uhgghg my leg!" "My spleen!" The leader got to his feet and back on to his horse. "We'll be back…. Come on men." The rest of the army struggled to their feet and on to their horses and rode away. Rin spoke, nudging her husband's shoulder. "So, think they will be back?" Sesshomaru nodded and replied. "Yes, and next time we will show no mercy." "Right."

Both husband and wife went inside the house in victory. The thieves would soon return. This time, it was going to get ugly.
