Rayne's Point of View
We had been sitting here stuck in between the two large tree trunks for most of the night. Bellamy now sitting in the back with Indra, Kane and I. I figured something like this would happen, with that kind of mark on Clarke's head of course they would do something if they saw her people coming. With the Rover we kind of held up a sign saying 'Heya we're sky people looking for Wanheda!'.
"It's been 3 hours. What are they waiting for?" Bellamy asked as he let out a long sigh placing his hand on my knee.
"Even with the light, I don't see anyone." Kane added as I looked over to Indra. "Think this was just a way to slow us down? Or do they not know she isn't with us? Fishing it out to see if we have her?" I asked.
"Never know." She said leaving the entire topic very vague. "I say we make a run for it." Monty suggested.
"That would be the dumbest idea." I muttered. "Yea well at least it's an idea." He snapped.
"No it's suicide. We have no idea who is out there, or how many of them are laying in wait." I told him. "She's right Monty." Bellamy added.
"Exactly, That's what they want us to do." Kane added.
"The boy is right. They can wait longer than we can." Indra began to explain.
"Ok, Bellamy, get it the turret, and you cover us." Kane ordered.
"Are you serious?" I questioned, "I will not leave this rover without Bellamy." I stated.
"Ray this isn't up for a discussion." I just rolled my eyes, "You can't order me around like everyone else… Dad. I'm staying with him." Bellamy placed his hand on me, "I cover you guys, and you cover me we all leave alive." He told me as I just sat there.
"That's not good enough for me Bells. I'm not losing you again. We've lost enough."
Kane placed his hand on my back; "When we get to that ridge over there, we'll cover him." He explained. "Copy that, just run fast." Bellamy explained as I looked over at him.
"Bells… please." I pleaded with him, "You get to safety first Ray… I will be by your side in no time I promise you." He told me as he kissed the top of my head.
"Bells…" I said softer this time. "Ray… please." I just nodded to him, "Let's gear up we only get one shot." I told Kane.
Bellamy opened the turret and moved himself through it when I noticed his entire body stiffened. "Don't move." I whispered to the rest of us.
"Why?" Kane asked.
"Something isn't right." I told him pointing up to Bellamy.
"They're here." Bellamy said confirming my suspicion. I looked over to Bellamy's pant leg taking the small knife from his pocket and hiding it in my booth before stuffing my pant leg in there to cover it up.
"Everybody out, or the boy dies." The man said through a mask as he pulled Bellamy up through the turret.
"BELLAMY!" I shrieked as I tried to grab at him seeing another hand go to grab me before Kane pulled me back. "He'll be fine." Kane attempted to assure me.
"Don't promise her what you don't know." Indra informed him.
"Ok! Ok… we're coming out." Kane finally said after a few moments of silence. Almost like he was waiting for them to make a show of force with Bellamy. He better hope that wasn't his attempt.
He began to remove all his weapons followed by Indra and Monty doing the same. I placed my gun on the ground but kept the blade hidden in my boot looking at Indra. 'You better hope for your boyfriends sake they don't find that.' She whispered to me.
'They wont.' I informed her as Kane opened the back hatch to the rover. "Don't hurt him!" He shouted out to them. Kane pushed open the door only for the people outside to grab us all pulling us out of the back one by one, violently.
Throwing us to the ground like rag dolls. I didn't give them that chance, I lunged myself at the one at the door knocking him to the ground. I felt two sets of hands grab my arms pulling me off the man but not before I got a good kick in first. "All targets secure." A woman commented making it more and more obvious these were not grounders.
They lifted Monty off the ground ripping the beacon from him as I shook my head as the one man threw me against the side of the truck, "Your from the ark." I remarked to the man holding me as I watched him tilt his head.
"It's mine. Give it back!" Monty yelled at the man that took the beacon from him.
"Monty, let it go." Bellamy yelled to him, "Ray where are you?" He than shouted to me.
"I'm fine." I called back to him as the man released me letting me stand with them like a normal person.
"Monty?" One of the woman in the group asked.
"Mom?" He questioned back as I looked to the man holding me, "Let them up. Please."
Nova's Point of View
I looked over at John, "He seems to be off in his own world." I explained as we watched Jaha wonder around the open field alone for what seemed like hours. "Well guess I should go wake him up." He told me as he got up and headed over to the man.
"Why didn't you say anything when we met back in the desert about knowing me? I wouldn't have taken all your things." Emori commented as she took John's place next to me.
"Everything has a time and a place to be heard and said." I told her slowly. "Besides, we're here are we not?" I asked her.
"Yes and it only took deforming me and tricking the sky people… look, there has to be something here something we can relay back to the land."
I just shrugged to her, "I will gather whatever I can but I will not let John be hurt in the process." I told her as I continued to clean up, I stood up with a few items readying to move them.
"Nova." She said stopping me from walking. "If this place is salvation we need to find out." She told me.
"Than eat that purple pill, tell me all about it. Salvation will not be found in anything we eat… it will be in something we create." I told her before pushing past her and making my way back to the vehicle to Gideon. "Here." I told him passing it off before returning back to Emori.
"I haven't taken mine but she seems to think I have." She told me, and be careful around Gideon and Jaha… I don't entirely trust them, regardless of how kind they are." She said as she walked away from me.
"Man thinks the City of Light is exactly where we are. I don't see it, do you?" John chuckled as he wrapped his arms around me before resting his chin on my shoulder. "Are you serious you don't see all the… light and goodness all around us?" I laughed pointing out at the fields before us.
I turned around and Emori had begun leading us all up the valley; "You think we can trust her even after the whole mine field thing?" He asked me. "Of course." I lied, to be honest… I didn't even really trust her, and I knew all her motives.
Rayne's Point of View
We stood there and watched as Monty reunited with his mother, I couldn't help but smile. I wished that's how reuniting with Kane was, but that was also the first time I found out he was my father. It was awkward and I was completely angry with him at that moment.
I watched as the others were soon helped off the ground and Bellamy pushed his way through towards me before pulling me in close, "Did they hurt you?" He asked me as he stroked my hair back kissing me lightly on the lips leaving me breathless.
"I'm fine, Bells." I assured him.
"Farm Station, stand down." One man said causing Bellamy and I to look towards Kane. This was the station members the beacon belonged to, we found them… more Ark survivors.
"Pike?" I heard Kane say as I watched a man pull a mask off slowly before helping him off the ground.
I watched for a few moments as Kane and his old friend had their moment before returning to Bellamy. "Never offer your life like that again Bellamy… I already lost you once, I lost… many things I can't." I told him.
"That wasn't your fault… if they hadn't thrown in that gas… we'd still have her, and we'll try again soon once everything is good and we know we're all safe… we'll be a family Ray… trust me." I nodded slowly before turning back around, "Crazy finding Farm Station so quickly."
"A little bit yea." Bellamy chuckled.
Bellamy soon moved away from me to help the others move the large tree as I made my way towards Pike. "Refreshing seeing a familiar face." I grinned softly.
"Rayne always such an amazing sight to see. I couldn't be happier to see you, shaking up with Bellamy Blake… saw it coming." He chuckled winking at me.
"Yea, he's really great. He's been a big part of juveniles survival down here… my sanity."
"I don't doubt it. I only wish we had found you all sooner." Pike explained to me as I nodded watching him walk away towards my father. Bellamy soon retuned to my side after moving the tree trunk; "Kane, it's time to go."
"Monty, give them the coordinates to Arkadia." I heard Kane call out as I leaned against Bellamy. "I want so much for this all to feel right but something still is leaving me incredibly unsettled." I told him as I felt him nod.
"You got that too." He whispered. "Keep your head up, they're our people yes but we have no idea what they've seen or been through… look at how much our battles shaped all of us. We're not the people we once were… so I doubt they are." He told me as he pulled me back towards the rover.
We had finally reached one of the trading posts Monty and I waited near the rover while the others entered the hut. I looked over at him; "I really am sorry about your dad Monty." I told him looking back at the ground.
"Me too but; I still have my mom that's something to be gre-" Monty started to say as a few gun shots went off alerting us to both lift our guns and head towards the hut. There was a grounder on the ground and an array of odd sorts strewn through the whole place. There was no telling how long the girl was being tortured.
I rushed to her side and helped her up off the ground slowly as I pulled my small canteen from my hip handing it to her. 'Water, drink.' I told her as she nodded taking a small sip from it.
"Are you ok? You alright?" Bellamy asked her as both he and Indra whom I'd pushed past where now standing near by me.
"Bounty Hunter." Indra said after looking down at the man, as she leaned in closer to take a closer look at him. 'We're here to help' Indra told the girl as she and I were now standing, she looking suspiciously at all of us.
"English." Pike called to Indra. "Pike, go outside." Kane told him as I looked over. Separating Pike from the situation may have looked smart but it would only make him think we were choosing the grounders over our own.
"Take Monty and Hannah. Search the perimeter." He ordered them. "To make sure he was alone."
I looked back at Indra before whispering, 'Watch your back.' She nodded to me, I may have shown her hostility but she still did train me, and I knew she cared about me. That and there was no need for more blood shed, Indra's death would result in a situation just like when Anya died. War.
'We're looking for Wanheda.' Indra told her softly, which I could only assume was a lot nicer than the way the bounty hunter had been asking her. "So was he." She told us in English.
"Please. She's in danger." Bellamy told us. "She's my friend, basically like a sister." I told her trying more or less to plead with her for information. Clearly she knew something or she wouldn't be in the shape she looked.
"You're Skaikru?" She asked us as I nodded, "Yea…" Bellamy told her.
"She was here last night." The girl told us reluctantly, "Did she say where she was going?" Kane asked as he approached the girl.
"No. She was here when I fell asleep and gone when I woke up." She explained.
"She give you any indication of where she might go?" Kane pressed.
"Dad, she doesn't know." I told him harshly.
"No, she didn't." The girl said slowly, "But he did." She said looking down at the body next to her feet. "He said that his partner came back for her. He was Ice Nation. I hope you find her." She told us.
"Thank you." Kane told her as I smile to her. "Anything I can do for your wounds?" I asked her softly only for her to shake her head. "I will see a healer." She told me.
"Good news. I found fresh tracks." Monty said rushing into the hut. "Great. Start the rover." Bellamy ordered him.
"That's the bad news—too many trees." He told us, which was good. I honestly thought he was going to say that Pike and his mom stole the rover. Which is a weird thing for me to even consider as a thought. "We have to go on foot."
We had begun walking through a thick-brushed field in search for Clarke or any sign of her. Indra leading the way, with Kane and Pike close behind her. Bellamy and I were in the middle of the group and Monty and his mother heading the back.
"Monty's falling apart." Bellamy said to me softly. "You could tell?" I asked him. "He just found out his father is dead, and for all he knows… it was a grounder that killed him. We just got over grounders being our enemy only to learn that maybe they still are?" I explained.
"I just hope he doesn't go all Jasper on us." I told him as Pike seemed to hang back waiting on both Bellamy and I.
"Ask you a question?" He commented to the two of us as both Bellamy and I looked up at him, "Last report we got on the Ark, you were under attack by grounders. What changed?" I looked over at Bellamy not really sure this was a question for me to answer without being overly abrasive.
"Well, it turns out, we had a common enemy."
"What happened to them?" Pike questioned again,
"We won." Bellamy responded looking over to me as I lowered my head.
"Quiet." Indra ordered. "Listen." She told us as we could faintly hear the beats of a drum playing. I looked over at Pike than to Bellamy, the last time we heard drums like this we were going to war with grounders… both against them and on their side. I learned drums are bad.
"War drums." Kane said taking the words from my mouth.
"Azgeda." Indra said lowering her hand and scanning the grass line.
"You can tell it's Ice Nation from the sound?" Monty asked her in disbelief.
"No, from them." She said as she looked over to a small pile of bodies. Everyone went into a fighting formation as Kane and I rand towards the bodies. "We need to get those bodies off the field." Pike explained.
"Unless you're good with them thinking we did this." Pike continued, he wasn't wrong.
We all than began to help each other try to move the bodies from the field something we would have to do incredibly quickly before those beats got any closer to us. "Go, hurry." I heard Kane tell Pike.
I guess it was international that Kane was in charge regardless of Abby. Which wasn't such a bad thing he was always more of a leader than she was, than again Clarke is more of a leader than her mother. Abby just has good idea, and her hearts in the right place. Leader qualities she, unfortunately has none.
"Wait. Two people at 12 o'clock." I heard Bellamy call out from behind me forcing me to stand up to look in the direction. "What is it?" I asked him as I watched his face drop. "It's Clarke." He told me as I went to rush towards her only from Indra to pull me to the ground.
"No sudden movements this is their territory not mine." She reminded me.
"None of us would make it in time." Pike explained to us as I looked up at Bellamy who was helping me off the ground. "He's right. Look." Monty explained as we all looked towards where Monty has motioned.
The Ice Nation had begun their march through this field, I was assuming. "No way we get across without being seen." Monty told us as I let my head drop.
"She's right there." I growled pointing off in the direction Bellamy had seen her. "Right there."
"We should lay low, let the army pass. Then we find Clarke. We're no used to her dead, or with low numbers." Pike explained as Bellamy put his hand on my shoulder. "Their right Ray, and you know I would be at your side charging to get her." He told me as I sighed, "Yea." I spat out.
"Guys, there's a cave." I heard Monty say again as I spun back around to look over at him, "We just got lucky. Come on." Pike said as we all seemed to begin heading towards the cave, which was another thing that didn't bode well with me. We should be going after Clarke not hiding in a cave.
"I can't go with you." Indra suddenly said. "Why?"
"Ice Nation has crossed the border. They're marching against my commander. I have to warn her." Indra told Kane as we all helped in picking up the bodies in the field.
"We'll get Clarke." Kane told her. "You better. The Ice Queen gets her first, she'll be dead, and we'll be at war." Indra told him as I looked towards Kane.
"Dad let's go." I told him trying my best to hold the bodies' legs while Bellamy picked up his top half, and we all began to head towards the cave not to far off in the distance to escape the Ice Nation army.
