Rin's journey! Seek out Totosai!
Sesshomaru's wounds were severe. Under the maid's request, Sesshomaru laid in bed to rest himself. He refrained from human medicine, as he knew his demon blood would make him heal quickly. Although this was not a big deal to him, it was a huge deal to Rin. Never in her life had she ever felt so guilty about something. She paced back and forth outside on the back porch, pondering to herself on the recent events. Ever since she became a half demon, she had acquired the very same abilities as Inuyasha. However, she also received his flaws in his powers as well. Whenever she parts from Sangotsu now, she becomes a killing machine. This was bad, as she had already wounded Sesshomaru. What if the next time she would injure Master Jaken? Or even worse, injure her own children! She shuttered in fear at the thought and stopped her pacing.
She then came to a final decision: to seek out Totosai, who forged Sangotsu for her. There had to be a way to stop these transformations from ever happening again. She rushed up the stairs and into the master bedroom. She grabbed a backpack and started packing basic niceties for her journey.
"What are you doing?"
Sesshomaru asked, sitting up in bed.
"I am going to seek out Totosai. He forged Sangotsu, maybe there is a way of stopping these transformations."
Rin replied, stuffing the last of what she needed in her bag.
"I will return in three days."
With that last reply, Rin tossed her backpack over her shoulder and went out the door. Normally, Sesshomaru would go after her, but he could not move. He rested his head against the baseboard of the bed and stared out the window.
Later downstairs…
"Master Jaken, prepare Ah-Un." Rin demanded, as she tied Sangotsu again tightly to her waist.
"I will not listen to you girl—"Rin picked up Jaken by the scruff of his neck and replied darkly.
"Master Jaken, do you really want to go there?"
"N-no! Of course not! I will get Ah-Un at once!" Master Jaken was released from Rin's grasp. He then went to get Ah-Un. Rin was ready to find out how to be rid of the transformations.
Later…..
Rin, Jaken and A-Un took to the air, heading to Totosai's cave.
"Rin, do you really think Totosai can stop the transformations?"
Rin smiled and answered.
"I know he can Master Jaken, he can do anything!"
Later….At Totosai's cave….
"Nope, can't be done..."
The old man replied, smoking his pipe.
"What do you mean?! I thought you could do anything!"
"I'm sorry Rin but it cannot be done. The weapon was made with Sango's demon bones that she gave to Kohaku which he then gave to me as a gift long ago. If you want to know how to stop them, you must contact her."
Rin couldn't believe it! She came here on a three day journey, only to be told to go somewhere else!
"Very well, could you at least sharpen it before I go?" Totosai smiled and replied. "That I can do!"
Later, Rin returned to Jaken and Ah-Un.
"Oh Rin, did you succeed in your council with Totosai?" Rin shook her head and got on Ah-Un, pulling the little imp on with her. "No, I have to seek out Sango. She is the only one who can help me, as the bones in which he used were from her." Master Jaken's eyes widened, he then spoke as Ah-Un took to the air. "Rin, the village you once lived in is 4 days from here! That is even farther from the mansion then we already are. Lord Sesshomaru won't be able to smell your scent anymore. You know how he is when he is worried!"
Rin sighed and spoke while telling Ah-Un to go faster with her feet by lightly kicking into Ah-Un's side.
"I have to stop these transformations Master Jaken, before I hurt anyone else."
Master Jaken nodded and replied. "You're right, on ward to Kaede's village!"
Rin smiled and kicked her heel in to Ah- Un's side, pushing full steam ahead. Rin was going to be the farthest she had been from Sesshomaru in years.
4 days later…..
Rin and Master Jaken arrived in Kaede's village, completely exhausted. Inuyasha greeted them, well, sort of…
"What the hell are you guys doing here?!" Rin frowned and walked past the hanyou in search for Sango. Inuyasha huffed and followed her with anger while speaking.
"Hey, you just can't barge in here without notice brat! What's with the kerchief over your head? You look like an old maid!"
There was no way Rin was going to reveal herself as a hanyou to others yet, she was not ready. Especially to Inuyasha, or Mr. Big mouth as they call him. She sprinted ahead and went to Sango's new Dojo.
"I need to talk to Sango Inuyasha, it's really important. I will tell you later, I promise!" Rin belted once again, before she started to run towards the dojo. Inuyasha sighed and sat on a log grumbling to himself, confused and annoyed. Something was different about Rin, but Inuyasha couldn't figure it out.
'Her scent is different.' Inuyasha thought, as he raised an eyebrow in utter curiosity. 'The scent is not—human.' With that last thought Inuyasha wondered the village, pondering his thoughts.
Meanwhile, at Sango's dojo…..
'Man, why the heck did Sango have to build her dojo way up on this hill?! I am exhausted!'
Rin thought, huffing and panting. She slid open the door to find Sango meditating. Rin sighed and sat cross-legged in front of Sango, facing her. "Sango?" Rin said, trying to get Sango's attention. Sango opened her eyes feeling refreshed. She then spoke.
"Rin, good to see you, it has been awhile." Sango said, smiling warmly. Sango rose and went out the back way to wash her face in a pool of water, a pond she had constructed. "So what brings you here Rin? You live 8 days away from here, must be important for you to come so far."
Rin sighed and spoke, following her out back. "It's about my weapon Sangotsu." Sango smiled and replied." Oh yes, the weapon Kohaku had made and named after me. So what is the problem?" Rin gulped and removed the kerchief, exposing her dog ears. Sango's eyes widened, she was shocked.
"Dear god." Sango said, holding her hand to her mouth, surprised as ever. Sango then spoke once again after catching her breath. "What happened, what on earth did you do?!"
Rin fidgeted, trying to figure out what she was going to say. She then worked up the words and spoke. "I did a ritual with Sesshomaru, transferring DNA with him. Thus turning me into a half demon."
Sango couldn't believe her ears, Rin messing with Mother Nature? Why would she do such things?
"Rin, why did you do this to yourself? You do realize you will never age, never get old, never die, unless otherwise in battle? I mean first Kagome does this—now you?" Rin frowned and replied.
"I did this for the same reason Kagome did it for Inuyasha." Sango frowned as Rin continued, as she knew the answer. "I did it because I love Sesshomaru more than anything. I want live with him forever, and have many children. Until the day comes when I die from child birth or battle." Rin then stopped, then continued. "Which is why I need your help."
Rin explained the entire situation to Sango. She told her that she transformed, and almost killed Sesshomaru, and came back because she was holding Sangotsu. Sango listened and analysed the situation and thought up some ideas. She then realised what Rin had to do.
"So, what is it I have to do Sango? I mean, Inuyasha goes into transformations because of Tessaiga and how it is his own fang and without it he transforms. Sangotsu is not made from anything of me. The two weapons are polar opposites. So what should I do?"
Sango walked back inside, with Rin following her. She pulled out a book and showed a page she had saved. "As you know, demon slayers make their weapons out of slain demon bones." Rin nodded, as she remembered her training from Kohaku. "Those demons are like your team-mates. Therefore, you must talk to them. They are confused, thus responding to your demon blood."
Rin blinked looking at the book and then replied. "How can I? They are dead."
As Sango closed the dusty book, she replied, which was going to shock the living hell out of Rin. "You must conduct another ritual, to speak with them. Telling them to stop tapping into your demon blood. This ritual takes a week to process and complete." Rin frowned and sighed, it would seem Rin was going to be in the village longer than she thought.
