Chapter 30
(A few words: Wow, two more chapters and I am on to the next series. I don't know how to explain it. Despite it being small and insignificant on a small site, I feel very accomplished somehow. I hope the next series "A Strong Bond Series: Together for all eternity, Sesshomaru and Rin" will be just as good as this one. Even if it isn't, I am glad I shared this story with you all. I hope you enjoy the last two chapters of this series. I will make it worth reading the next book. Thank you all.))
**Note, this is a break for those who read none stop XD The next two will be very long, as the series is ending. So get up, stretch, pour some coffee or eat your dinner because the next two chapters are a killer!**
Death of the priestess
Everyone stood in the hut. By everyone, I mean everyone we know. Miroku, Sango, Inuyasha, Kagome, Tuskino, Rin, Sesshomaru, Kohaku and his fiancée Aya-me. They all just stood there, looking down on her empty body, which contained nothing but her old bones. Miroku and Inuyasha put her on the ceremonial stretcher in which the village made and decorated. They carried her out of the hut, as Inuyasha and Miroku volunteered to be the Paul barriers. The whole village wept as they carried her to the creek, for they were going to give her the funeral any priestess deserved. They were going to burn her body, and bury her ashes in the shrine, where Kikyo's once rested. As Miroku and Inuyasha put the stretcher over the logs, Rin gave the speech.
"Here is the most beautiful, sophisticated woman any one has ever known. She was wise, loving, caring, and kind to any one she met, criminal or not. She treated everyone like they were her kids, it was only fair, since she never had any. I guess, in a way she did. I feel, like she had me. I lost my family at a young age, and never knew what family was all about. I then met Sesshomaru, and I know how it felt to be loved by someone. Once more, Kaede was like a mother to me. A confidant, a friend, and a great trainer in the morals of life. Though I may never grow old, I will know the value of family. If Priest Kashi will please give the ceremonial prayer, while I and the rest of Kaede's family light the logs."
The priest nodded and gave the prayer in Japanese, while Rin and her personal family and friends lit the logs. Kaede burned bright, she would live on forever in everyone's hearts.
Later in Kaede's hut….
"I can't believe she left the hut to me in her will."
Rin said, looking inside the small place. Sesshomaru came in and replied.
"She did not have any children. You were her only beneficiary."
Rin nodded and started to pack things up, Sesshomaru helped. Rin sighed and spoke. She was finally going to ask Sesshomaru if they could move closer to the village.
"Sesshomaru, darling?"
Rin said, trying to butter her husband up. Sesshomaru turned to Rin and replied while packing pots and pans carefully into a bag.
"What is it?"
Rin fidgeted and replied while stroking her stomach.
"Umm, the twins are over 6 years old now. Uhh, and the new child will be born soon. I want our children to know who their cousins are and make friends."
Sesshomaru raised an eyebrow in confusion and replied.
"What point are you trying to make?"
Rin sighed and spoke.
"I wish to move closer to this village. I love the mansion, but it can be so empty sometimes. Please, I desire it so."
Sesshomaru smirked warmly then spoke.
"Are you sure of this?"
Rin nodded and hugged Sesshomaru while replying.
"I want this more than anything."
Sesshomaru sighed and replied.
"There is a small manor about two miles from here. We will live there."
Rin jumped for joy and kissed her husband with up most joy! She was finally able to live closer to her family. She was very happy. With Kaede's death, a new one would come 8 months from now.
