Chapter 33

Final Chapter

Murder Solved, New Beginnings (Part 2 of 2)

Jaken sighed and sifted through the family records. He rolled his eyes and spoke again.

"What do you mean family secret?"

Rin spoke as she went through books and scrolls.

"Look, everyone has something to hide. A rich family like this has to have some skeletons in their closet."

Jaken scoffed and replied.

"Sure, whatever you say…"

So the two searched for hours, anything that seemed out of place or something worth hiding. Rin made it all the way up to the upper shelves of the room. Cob webs and dust made her cough and sneeze. Taking all this in was not good for the baby, but she had to keep looking. She came to find a large yet narrow hole, which lead to another level in the shelf she was sifting through. Should she climb up? Or wait until Jaken caught up with her? She made up her mind. Despite her bump, she was able to climb and crawl through the hole which lead to the secret upper room. It was dark, and only a small window which only shown an inch of light through it. She opened the window more and peaked out, seeing the village in the distance, along with the breathtaking hills. As she looked around, she saw a closet at the end of the room. She walked over and opened it, what she saw almost made her have a heart attack.

"OH MY GOD! WAH!"

Hearing Rins screams, Jaken climbed up and found the hole, climbing in himself.

"What is it Rin? What happened?"

Jaken asked, concerned for Rins wellbeing.

"Jaken, remember when I said that families might have skeletons in their closet?"

"Uhh, yes, what of it?"

Jaken replied.

Rin gulped and opened the doors wide and replied.

"I think they were really hiding one!"

Jaken gasped, there was a tiny skeleton lying there in the closet. Jaken couldn't believe his eyes. He took a breath, then spoke.

"Why would they do this? What happened here?"

"I don't know,"

Rin started, closing the door of the closet.

"But I have a funny feeling that whoever killed the family was getting revenge. Come on, lets fill in Sesshomaru."

Rin finished. Jaken nodded and replied.

"Right!"

So the two left the secret room, and went to find Sesshomaru, to tell him what they found.

Later…..

Sesshomaru paced the floor of the living room and spoke sighing softly.

"I see, so this person who killed the family was most likely indeed a family member. Disgraced at what his family had done, he murdered them. What puzzles me, is why did he kill the children? I am sure they were not aware of the body anyway."

Jaken chuckled darkly and replied

"Maybe he was mentally insane"

Sesshomaru frowned and punched Jaken than sat on the couch and spoke again while Jaken coward in fear and winced in pain.

"That could be a possibility, but it still does not make sense to me."

Rin sighed and spoke while looking out the window.

"Maybe the children found out on their own. The family member decided to shut them up?"

"We will know more if we find this person."

Sesshomaru said, exiting the house.

Rin followed after with Jaken behind. She saw him walking away from the house.

"Wait! Where are you going?!"

Rin exclaimed, Sesshomaru turned to her and spoke.

"I will be back by nightfall."

He then vanished into the woods. Rin scoffed and went back inside the house in frustration. Jaken made a barrier around the house, as he did not trust the area. The murderer could be anywhere…

Nightfall….

Sesshomaru returned to the house, Jaken let Sesshomaru inside the barrier and back into the house. The twins were asleep, and so was Rin.

"My lord? Where did you go? To the village perhaps?"

Jaken asked, looking up at his master. Sesshomaru nodded and spoke.

"Yes, they said they knew nothing of the sort. They had no knowledge of where the so called family member vanished. All they know, was that he was the eldest brother of the three children. I do now know why I even bother… These humans are dead, and it should be none of our business."

Sesshomaru sat on the sofa in an irritated manor, rubbing his temples in anger and utter annoyance. Jaken frowned and spoke.

"Then, My Lord, why do you still seek answers when you do not even care about the outcome?"

Sesshomaru rolled his eyes and spoke.

"I do it because Rin wants to know answers. They are humans, and despite being half demon now, she still pity's them. Perhaps it is because her own family was killed in cold blood as well and she is trying to fill the void of that terrible memory. "

Jaken nodded and clutched his staff while looking upstairs to Rins room and replied.

"Yes, perhaps…"

The Next Day….

Rin woke from slumber, alone as per usual. She trotted down the stairs to find Jaken muttering to himself and Sesshomaru nowhere to be found.

"Master Jaken, where is Sesshomaru?"

Rin asked, sitting on the sofa. Jaken rolled his eyes and spoke.

"He is looking for answers in which you are interested to seek. Tsk, you know he is only doing this for you. He cares not for the dead humans."

Rin nodded and replied while fidgeting.

"Yes, I know. Master Jaken, when do you think he will be back?"

Jaken shrugged and trotted up the stairs while speaking to Rin for the last time.

"He did not say."

Rin sighed, she felt somewhat responsible for all this. She was the one who wanted to know about the dead family. Maybe if they had buried the bodies and be done with it, it would have been better that way. As she thought, her nose twitched, her new dog ears moved. She smelled something, a smell that was unfamiliar. Jaken came back down and Rin came over to him.

"Master Jaken,"

Rin started, twitching her nose.

"We are not alone."

She finished. Jaken nodded and put up his staff, Rin grabbed her sword and put on her coat, they opened the door; nothing. No one in sight. They closed the door and thought the strange presence was gone. Until, they heard it, footsteps on the roof. They both ran upstairs, locking the twins safely in their rooms. She and Jaken climbed up the stairs that lead to the attic. The footsteps grew louder and closer.

"Prepare yourself Rin!"

Jaken said, keeping his staff firmly in attack mode. Rin nodded and held her sword up. The two stood back to back, ready to meet the possible enemy. A window opened! A being swooped in, having the window behind him slam shut! The two prepared to attack, as the being drew closer to them. His face showed. He had dark, long black hair. He was rather skinny, and had three earrings in his left ear. His face was unpleasant, and evil. He chuckled and spoke.

"What are you lot doing in MY house?"

Jaken frowned and spoke.

"Ha! This is no longer yours after you abandoned it! Along with your so called family in which you slaughtered."

The man chuckled and spoke.

"Heh, they were not my family, I figured that out when I was a boy."

Rin was growling, keeping her sword in place. As she got more of his scent, she was shocked. His scent was not human! He was a demon!

"Jaken… This is no human…"

Rin whispered… Jaken nodded and spoke.

"I knew your aura was different! You are a demon, are you not?"

The man laughed and spoke.

"Indeed puny one. I am surprised as someone so small and primitive thinking figured it out so quickly."

Jaken kept up his guard, despite that ever so rude insult.

"How dare you insult Lord Jaken! I ought to turn you to ash!"

Jaken said with fury. He smiled and laughed darkly than replied.

"Well aren't you a brave one."

"WHO ARE YOU?! WHAT IS YOUR NAME? WHY DID YOU KILL YOUR PARENTS?!"

The man frowned, and turned to Rin who just spoke.

"My name is Jinju, and as I said before, they were not my parents. Just because the raised me, does not make them my real family. Once I found out what they did, I killed them all."

Rin and Jaken looked at one another than turned their attention back to Jinju.

"What did they do?"

Rin asked, lowering her sword.

"Rin, are you mad?! Put your guard back up!"

Jaken exclaimed, keeping his vision on Jinju. Jinju laughed and spoke while removing his blade.

"Its fine, you both know I am going to kill you anyway. So, I will tell you… I will tell you the reason why I killed them."

Meanwhile… In the village…

Sesshomaru was not going to give up, he was going to keep looking until he found answers. Even if it took him days. He went into the places where the rich family usually spent their time; the shrine. From what the villagers told Sesshomaru, they were very religious. He saw a monk sweeping the porch humming to himself. He walked over and question the middle aged man.

"Excuse me human," Sesshomaru asked softly, trying not to scare him in his demon appearance.

"I was wondering if you could tell me about the family that lived in the home just outside of here."

The monk turned to him, he had no fear at all. He chuckled and replied.

"That would depend on which home, there are many of my followers who live outside the village."

Sesshomaru replied while pointing toward his house.

"The one house that is just about a mile down the road."

The monk's eyes widened. He appeared to know something.

"Tsk, you mean that psychotic family the Guruku's? Heh, I know them all too well unfortunately."

"I see, so why were they so psychotic?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Well they were creepy from the start. Then, they adopt a demon child to top it all off." The monk said in a disgusted voice. Puzzled, Sesshomaru replied.

"Demon you say? I did not smell any demonic aura in the residence when my family and I moved in."

"Of course you didn't, this demon they found is able to hide his demonic aura. Only those of human born blood can sense it. He was gifted, so the family had said." The monk said, sighing once again. He then turned to Sesshomaru and spoke again. "What happened to them? Did they move away?"

Sesshomaru shook his head and spoke. "No, they were killed, possibly by the demon in which you spoke of—wait—did you say he was capable of masking his demonic aura?"

"Yes, why do you ask?" The monk replied, looking at him oddly.

"Damn it, that means he could be anywhere—Uhh—! "Sesshomaru looked to his house, he had to get back! "Curses! Thank you human, farewell…" With that last word Sesshomaru took off in a huff! Heading back to the house.

"Uhh, you're welcome demon…" The monk said, going back to his duties.

Meanwhile back at the house…

Jinju was telling Jaken and Rin why he killed his parents and siblings. He had told them that he was "adopted" by them. He then figured out that they had slaughtered his real parents and little sister. Which explained the skeleton Rin found. So, that was why Jinju murdered them both. However, he did not plan his brother and sister watching, so he killed them too.

"I could not leave any witnesses. Sister and Brother had watched the whole thing, I could not let them tell anyone!" Jinju said with anger. "So you killed them…" Rin added in a sad tone. "Yes this is true, now, any last words?" Jinju asked, swinging his blade around.

"Get back Rin!"

Jaken yelled holding his staff ready to attack at will. Jinju jumped in the air and kicked Jaken in the face, knocking him out cold! Rin was cornered! Before she could lift her sword he swung his, knocking it out of her hand and sending her to the ground!

"Ah! M-My hand….!" The demon smirked and jumped to plunge his sword. "Prepare to die, I'm going to gut that half breed fetus from your stomach!" He yelled, soaring down at Rin. He was blocked by none other than Sesshomaru!

"Not before I gut you first!" Sesshomaru said, pushing Jinju away. Jinju bounced off the wall and landed on his feet. He laughed oh so sadistically and spoke.

"Well, if it isn't the old dog breath himself. I have heard stories from you. It's demons like you that make me want to vomit!"

Sesshomaru paid no mind to Jinju's mouth and turned to Rin and Jaken. "Rin, get Jaken and the twins out of here at once." Rin nodded and exited the room. Sesshomaru than turned his attention back to Jinju, who was driving his blade at Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru blocked him again, and again. Jinju nicked Sesshomaru's cheek as they soared outside and onto the grass. They clashed swords forever. It seemed like days when it had only been an hour.

"I'm going to kill you mutt!" Jinju yelled thrashing his sword carelessly.

"Your swordsmanship is pathetic." Sesshomaru said, as Jinju was not even getting a rise out of him.

"Ha! You flatter me!" Jinju said, as he did a back flip, landing a foot away. It grew dark and evil around him. The winds picked up, his eyes glowed piercing purple. Sesshomaru growled at Jinju, standing his guard a foot away as well. Then, Jinju transformed into a horrible ugly beast. It was a giant crow, with dark purple eyes and purple feathers. Sesshomaru know what he had to do. He sheathed bakusaiga and transformed into his dog demon form. Jinju took to the air, flying high into the atmosphere above. Sesshomaru jumped and pulled on one of Jinju's wings, tearing it apart in his jaw, Jinju pecked at Sesshomaru's neck, cawing in a high pitch noise that was so high it could make your ears bleed.

Meanwhile, inside the house….

"Gah! My ears!" cried Master Jaken, as he had just woken up from being knocked out by Jinju earlier. Rin grabbed him by his collar and headed in her room to grab a bow and arrows.

"Rin what are you doing? Un hand me!" Jaken cried again, trying to free himself from her grasp.

Rin rolled her eyes heading to the twins room and opened the door setting Jaken down. "Now is no time for yelling at me, we have to get the twins and the other servants to safety!"

Jaken nodded and replied while getting to his feet.

"You're absolutely right! "

The two ran around the house, rescuing maids and telling them to flee into the nearby village. Rin picked up the twins and put them on A-Un. Inutashi was crying for once, only because of the piercing screams Jinju was making. Resashy reached out for Rin, begging her not to be parted.

"Momma, I don't want to go!"

"I'm sorry love, but it's too dangerous! Ah-Un, take them away from here!"

The demon nodded and flew away. Rin than shouted out to the demon one last time.

"Take them to Inuyasha and Kagome!"

The demon nodded one last time and flew towards Kagome and Inuyasha's village. Rin nodded and pulled out an arrow and got ready to shoot Jinju. As she was about to, water shot out from under her legs. Rin fell to her knees in agony; she had gone into labor.

"Ah, now is not the time little one! Ahh…!"

Rin cried, gripping her stomach. Master Jaken ran over to her side, patting her back.

"Rin, we must get you to safety to have the child!"

"I want to assist Sesshomaru—Akk!"

Rin cried, as it was clearly futile. She stood to her feet and ran into the bushes with Jaken's help. They ran and ran, until they made it to the neighbouring village. Women of the village saw Rin's struggles and brought her to one of the houses. One woman shouted "She is in labor, we must aid her!" Another cried "Get hot water and towels at once!" Rin was laid down on a futon by one of the men. Mrs. Bamki, who escaped from the house opened Rins legs and began to assist her.

"Okay Rin, here we go again, begin to push!"

Rin nodded and followed her instincts, pushing with all her might.

"UGHHH!"

Meanwhile….

Jinju and Sesshomaru were still at it! Biting and clawing at one another. Sesshomaru growled and swatted his paw at Jinju. He swatted again, pushing him to the clearing. Jinju tried to flee, but the dog demon would not let him. He bit down on Jinju's wing, breaking it in his jaw. He looked at Jinju with his red eyes, as if saying "You shall not escape" They came to a large cliff; this was the end for Jinju as Sesshomaru plunged his paw into Jinju's chest, spilling his blood everywhere. Jinju cawed in pain and fell to his death, changing back to himself as he descended to the ground.

"Goodbye cruel world…. Mother, Father, Sister, Brother… I do not think I will be going where you are, please—forgive me!"

With that last word, Jinju fell into the ocean bellow, his body turned to dust. It was over. Sesshomaru transformed back to his human form. He then ran to Rin in the village.

"RIN!"

Sesshomaru cried, pushing his way into the hut. Rin smiled and sat up, showing the child in her arms. The child had dog ears and cute yellow eyes.

"Come, come hold your son."

Sesshomaru smiled and came over, cradling the boy. The maids smiled, as the baby was simply adorable. Rin spoke, looking up at her husband.

"My love? What will his name be?"

Sesshomaru thought about it. The infant sort of reminded him of someone. He then thought. 'This child resembles my brother to the fullest.' Sesshomaru finally relinquished his hatred towards his brother. He smiled and spoke while taking the infants finger in his grasp.

"His name, will be Inuyasha the second."

Rin smiled and touched the infants face while speaking.

"Inuyasha it is…"
