AN: Once again I am not JK Rowling.
Sirius POV
I held Hermione in my arms as her eyes drifted in and out of focus. Her jeans were absolutely covered in blood and her hair had come out of the braid she had put it in at some point. Hannah was crying silently while Luna held her close to her side. Ginny rushed over to my side as I slowly stood up with my wife in my arms.
"MOLLY!" I yelled my voice echoing around the yard. The front door opened and Molly ran out into the yard her wand raised.
"Good gracious what happened?" Molly asked her eyes wide.
"I. Don't. Know." And then I was crying brokenly into my wife's hair holding her close to me as I rocked her back and forth.
"Sirius let me take her inside." Molly said trying to pull her out of my arms.
"NO!" I yelled holding her close to me curling my body over her protectively.
"Sirius if I don't look her over now there might be some serious damage." Molly said reaching for her again. I let Molly pull my wife from my arms as I fell to the ground and cried brokenly into my hands.
My wife. My poor, beautiful wife. I should have been there for her. I should have saved her. I had known something was wrong the moment I had come to after being healed as best I could from the curse I had been hit with. It was like Sectumsempra but a little different. And because it was different I had been healed quickly. When I had come to I knew something was wrong with Hermione. Something had happened to her and I couldn't get to her.
"Sirius." A soft familiar voice said next to my ear. I ignored it and continued to cry. "Pads come on inside it will be okay."
"Easy for you to say." I spat angrily. "Your wife isn't fighting for her life."
Remus sighed and sat down next to me. "You should be by her side once she wakes up. She'll want to see you."
"What about –" I swallowed thickly and forced myself to say the words. "What about the baby?"
"There isn't one." I froze and stood up quickly. "Where are you going?!"
"To kill the death eater who murdered my child!" I yelled my voice echoing around the yard.
"No Sirius! She was never pregnant!" I stopped and frowned thoroughly confused.
"What?" I asked turning slowly to look at my best friend. He would never lie to me. He couldn't.
"I don't know what the spell she was hit with did but she wasn't pregnant." Remus said walking over to me slowly.
"How do you know?" I asked my voice soft.
"I would have smelt it on her. She would have smelled more like you, as if she had a part of you inside her. Hermione never smelled like that." Remus said slowly putting his hands up.
"Then what happened to my wife?" I asked my voice sounding distant as my heart pounded fiercely in my chest.
"I don't know." Remus said slowly running his hand through his hair. "Lets go inside and get you a Firewhisky."
I slowly followed Remus into the house dreading what I would see when I made it through the door. Everyone was huddled around the couches in the Burrow's living room. George was laying on his side sleeping, Fred was pressed up against his side his eyes glazed.
Hermione was on the other couch, her face pale as a sheet Molly standing over her waving her wand repeatedly. Herman and Jean were in the corner. Jean was crying brokenly into her husband's arms and Herman was doing his best to comfort his distraught wife.
"How is she?" My voice sounded thick, nothing like it usually did.
"Not well." Molly said wiping her face with the palms of her hands. "She's bleeding from the inside and I don't know what to do to make it stop. It wasn't a miscarriage but I think it was a spell to trigger one if she had been pregnant. I can put her in a spell-like state where her body freezes for a few hours but that's about it."
"Do it. I'm going to Grimmauld Place to see if there are any books that might have the counter curse." I said striding over to the fireplace trying to hold myself together.
"I'm coming with." Neville said standing slowly. He had been hit in the leg with a hex and had kept me on the broom when I had been cursed all at the same time. I had new found respect for the boy-turned-man in front of me.
"Me too." Hannah said wiping her hands against her eyes. Luna and Ron stood up and crossed the room together. Harry wandered over rubbing his scar and Ginny followed her eyes blank with pain. I looked around the room to see if anyone else would come and when no one else made a move I strode across the room and threw the floo powder into the fireplace and landed in the library.
I immediately started to grab at the books and flipped through them looking for anything. The floo flashed but ignored it. I went to the darkest books looking for anything that could possibly stop her bleeding. A couple hours passed and my eyes were growing heavy but I continued to search book after book.
"I think I found something!" Tonks yelled from the other side of the room. I looked up from the book in front of me confused. More people were here than when we started. Twice as many to be exact. Even George was there flipping through a thick tome.
"What's it say?" I asked my voice hoarse.
"It gives the name of the curse and what it does." Tonks said her eyes roving over the page. Remus strode over to her and looked at the book. He paled horribly and his eyes snapped up to me.
"What's it say?" I asked again starting to get angry.
"Its not a miscarriage curse. It closes off her Fallopian tubes. That's what the bloods from and it will stop naturally." Some of the guys turned a greenish color or shifted uncomfortably and some of the girls blushed.
"What does that mean?" I asked slowly.
"It means she can't get pregnant." I clenched my eyes tightly and forced myself to breathe slowly.
"Is there a counter-curse?" My voice broke and I cleared my throat.
"Yes. You have to kill the castor."
