Tommy's sneakers crunched over the gravel drive as he walked to his car; slung over one shoulder was his tattered green knapsack where he'd hidden his uncle's sleeping pills. He could see Jason sitting in the passenger seat watching his approach. He was wearing the leather jacket the Green Ranger loved so.

A cool wind ruffled his hair and Tommy pulled his own jacket tighter. For a brief moment, he stood at the door, fingertips on the handle as he felt conflicted over what he planned to do. The Red Ranger was going to be devastated. But he'll still be alive to be devastated.

Sliding into the driver's seat, he tossed his pack into the back seat. When he looked up, he found himself staring into Jason's deep brown eyes and for a moment it took his breath away. He opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out.

"You all right, man?" the Red Ranger said with a small smile on his face.

Tommy shook himself and managed to tear his gaze away from his lover. "I'm fine. Just peachy."

He slipped the key in the ignition and started the engine. A small scowl still twisted his face.

Jason admired the Green Ranger's profile as he maneuvered the car onto the road. He remembered the first time he'd ever seen Tommy at the karate tournament. Tan skin, high cheekbones, strong jawline, dark hair; he looked like a model. Unfortunately, due to Rita's spell, his expression was often cold and cruel. Jason tried to remember the few times he'd seen Tommy actually smile that weren't related to causing pain and destruction. That was a whole other lifetime now.

Tommy felt Jason staring at him. "See something you like, Red?" he teased.

"You know I do," the Red Ranger softly answered.

The evil teen felt a spark of anger at Jason's words.

"Then why stay away from me? If you like me so much?" he growled.

"You know why, Tommy," Jason sighed, closing his eyes.

"That's fine. When Rita wins, you'll be mine again."

A terrible argument was brewing on the horizon; Jason didn't want to spend the day fighting with Tommy either. The Green Ranger's whole posture was rigid and tense, his knuckles white on the steering wheel.

"I've never been to Reefside," Jason changed the subject. "You'll have to be my tour guide."

Tommy's face relaxed and he even smiled if somewhat sadly. "I was thinking we'd eat at this nice restaurant, maybe spend a little time at the shore. And of course I want to go somewhere I can enjoy your body one last time." He looked over at the Red Ranger, lust on his face.

"Truthfully, I'm surprised you aren't wanting to spend all day in bed with me," he answered, still curious about the Green Ranger's plans.

"You should know by now that are other places people can fuck."

Jason chuckled and shook his head.

"I suppose I should," he replied.

They passed the rest of the 45 minute drive making small talk. It was informative for Jason since most of their interactions didn't involve much talking, only screwing. They talked about movies, music, martial arts, and even school. He was surprised to learn that they actually did have a lot in common; it was unfortunate that they were on opposite sides.

The Green Ranger looked over at Jason slyly. "I've always known more about you than you realize. When Rita first told me who you all were, I went your houses. Snooped around some. Especially in your room, Red. I thought it was too bad I was going to have to kill you because we'd probably have ended up best friends."

Jason's eyes widened. He did remember a day that he'd come home from a particularly nasty battle and suspected that someone had moved things in his room. However, he was still bleeding pretty badly and needed to tend to his injuries; he'd thought he was just imaging things in his pain and exhaustion. It made sense now.

"That was before you showed yourself to us, wasn't it? I thought someone had been going through my things but…" he trailed off.

"That's right. I actually went to your house a few times. I wanted to know everything about you; you know what they say about knowing your enemy as you know yourself. The type of cologne you wore, what kind of underwear you had, what you were interested in. Once when you were sleeping, I stood over you and considered just slitting your throat or stabbing you to death."

The Red Ranger felt a chill at this revelation. "Why didn't you?"

Tommy shrugged. "Too easy. I wanted a challenge." He smiled. "Basically, I stalked you for a while before I attacked."

Jason reclined in the passenger's seat as he took all this in. Seems like this is confession time, he mused.

"I've got a few things you should know too, Tommy," he began.

"Oh?" A corner of the Green Ranger's lips twitched.

"Yeah," Jason fixed his gaze on his hands in his lap as he confessed his secret to Tommy. "When we first met, at the karate tournament, I thought you were absolutely drop dead gorgeous. It was distracting when I was trying to fight; I felt so awkward in front of you."

A blush crept into Tommy's cheeks at Jason's words. He waited for the Red Ranger to continue.

"When I found out you were the Green Ranger, I was beyond pissed but nervous too. I remembered what almost happened in the Dark Dimension. I didn't want to admit it but I was a little afraid of you." Jason's voice was a whisper now.

"You know, I fully intended to kill you when we were in there. But I found I really liked cat and mousing with you. I wanted to scare you; the look on your face really turned me on. You were trying to so hard to be a hard ass but I could see your fear in your eyes." The Green Ranger's voice turned frosty as he remembered Jason pinned under his boot, his hand slightly shaking as he raised it to fend off the sharp blade.

The Red Ranger didn't care for the ice that crept into Tommy's tone or the way his eyes seemed to deaden.

"Tommy?" He reached out a hand and touched the Green Ranger's shoulder. Immediately, Tommy snapped back to attention.

"Sorry, I got caught up those emotions again. Sometimes that happens," he admitted.

The two sat in silence a while as buildings passed; Reefside was close. Tommy was preoccupied with what he planned to do to Jason. The place he was looking for was coming up on the right; they were still a few minutes out from the city. He decided this was the way it was going to be.

"Want to see something interesting, Red?" he asked softly.
