Just wanted to tell you all, thank you for your patience and for following the store. I have a busy schedule, but I promise to update more frequently!
These next few chapters are not to make light of Whitney and what she went through. Drug addiction is not a joke and I wish something could have been done for her sooner.
With that being said, please comment and peace out! ;-D
It was about two in the morning when Whitney, CeCe and Robyn were driven away from the dock. Her parents, who could barely look at anyone, left immediately. Cissy told everyone that she needed to go pray and meditate before she could speak to any of her children. Finding out that they all had been doing drugs obviously knocked the wind out of her and she honestly didn't know what steps to take next. Whitney's brothers made quick, quiet exits with their wives, ashamed and helpless knowing that the secret was exposed to them as well. They didn't know what steps they should take next. Kevin's parents were surprisingly supportive and sympathetic; Sharon gave her a huge hug, trying to console her. She told her to call her tomorrow and to let Kevin have some time to digest everything at hand. Sharon after all, was a social worker and did not judge anyone who struggled with drug addiction as they do not ask to become that way. However, she would be lying to herself if she didn't find it shocking to be something that her daughter- in- law kept from everyone for such a long period of time.
Whitney began sobbing some more as soon as her driver closed her door in the limo. It was amazing…in less than two hours, her entire world was yanked underneath her. Deep down inside, Whitney knew that things would never be the same. And she only had herself to blame for all of the madness that had unfolded.
CeCe felt helpless as she watched her best friend crying all over the backseat her limousine. "Everything's gonna be okay, Whit. You'll see," CeCe finally said, trying her best to convince herself as well. "No it's not!" Whitney screamed. "Nothing's ever going to be the same and it's all my fault." CeCe sighed. "You don't know what God can do to fix all of this sis. It may take a long time, but Kevin will forgive you. He loves you too much not to, despite what was said tonight."
"He hates me. Did you see how he treated me? He's never treated me like that before!" Whitney looked up, her slanted mocha eyes wet with tears.
"Kev had a lot to drink tonight," Robyn finally spoke up. "But he's hurt Nip. He's hurt by everything really bad."
"I wasn't trying to hurt him. This is why I didn't want him to know. I didn't wanna see that look of pain that he gave me tonight. He told me one time that I was the only person in his life that he felt like he could trust and tell all of his thoughts and secrets to….and he always let me know that I could do the same," said Whitney.
"As much as I hate to say this sweetie, you kept a huge secret from him. He feels used." CeCe went in. "Why didn't you just tell him the night when the reporter dropped the bomb at the release party? I told you nothing good would come from keeping this away from him."
"I was afraid that he would leave me, because I lied to him AND that he didn't wanna be married to someone who has a "drug addiction". I don't know what I'll do if Kevin leaves me." Whitney broke into tears again. "He's gonna divorce me, y'all, I know it."
CeCe's phone rang. She checked the caller ID and saw that it was BeBe calling her. "Hey bro." CeCe was tired. It had been a very long day and an even longer night. "How's Whit?" he asked, sounding equally tired. CeCe held the phone over to Whitney for a moment so that BeBe could hear her. She was still sobbing, and CeCe put the phone back to her ear. "Let me try to talk to her." BeBe offered. "Good luck." CeCe moved closer to her friend and gently shook her. "BeBe's on the phone Whit." "I don't wanna talk to anybody but Kevin." Whitney wailed. CeCe sat back in her seat. "Did you hear her?" she asked her brother wearily. "Yeah, I hear. Poor girl. I'm just in shock about everything that I just heard…I understand you probably had your reasons not to say anything sis. And I'm not mad at you for keeping everything away, just disappointed. Especially since our sis needs to get help." "BeBe, please." CeCe started. "Don't go there…not tonight. I had my reasons…and now I have my regrets." "I know baby girl, and I'm not gonna beat you up over this…I know how you tend to beat yourself up over things. Nobody's perfect, but Jesus." He offered.
"Yeah I know…but I feel so bad for keeping everything from Kevin. Although it's only been a few years since they got together and got married, he's like our brother." CeCe said. "This whole situation is a huge mess." BeBe said, stating the obvious. "Anyway, how's Kevin?" CeCe inquired, changing the subject before she began to cry herself. "I'm following Dan and the guys now. I called him before calling you. He said that Kev mumbled a few words about this all being unreal and feeling betrayed before passing out cold in the backseat." He informed her. "Drunk or not, he has a right to say those words, rightfully so." CeCe said.
She wiped a tear away from her eye while she listened to Whitney cry from the depths of her soul. She knew how much her best friend loved Kevin, but what she probably thought was a brilliant idea at the time- concealing her problem from her husband and parents- had turned into a nightmare. It was amazing how the decision between Whitney, Robyn and her brothers had touched and affected every last one of the people closest to them. That's what usually happens when one has an addiction.
"CeCe." BeBe broke the silence, jolting CeCe out of her thoughts. She had almost forgotten that she was on the phone. "What do you think needs to happen for Whitney? I know everything has just become out in the open, but have you thought about the situation we all have at hand?" "What do you mean?" CeCe asked him, she asked as she looked over at Robyn who had drifted into an uncomfortable doze. "I mean, we all now know that Whit has a problem. Her brothers too. And I'm sure Robyn has dabbled in it as well. What should we do to make sure that they all get the help that they need?" BeBe asked with worry in his voice. "I don't know," CeCe said slowly as her throat started to swell up. "I know that we have to do something. We can't stand around and NOT do something. What, I don't know." "It may take an intervention." BeBe stated. "Let's be honest, this is what it may come down to. It's gonna take more than hoping and praying and wishing that it all gets better." "I agree." CeCe whispered, trying not to let her voice quiver. "I just want my sis to get help. She really needs to for not only herself and her career. But for the people who love her, especially her babies and her husband." BeBe nodded in silence. "We'll pray and ask God to help us all come up with the best decision. But it's all too much to think about tonight." He told her.
Soon after, they hung up and the limo pulled into the driveway and stopped. Marco, the driver, opened the door and greeted them cheerfully at four that morning. "We're home ladies." He told them.
Whitney dragged herself from the backseat and stumbled up the walkway into her house. CeCe and Robyn followed in. Immediately feeling sick from the stress and alcohol, Whitney raced to her bathroom and spewed her anguish in the toilet. Sighing, CeCe (who was always the caretaker and rock) grabbed a bottle of water and some aspirin to go tend to her sick friend. "Father, help us all." She prayed, looking up at the ceiling.
Meanwhile, Dan pulled up at his house and shook Kevin awake. "Hey man, wake up. We're at my house." Kevin, who had passed out almost the entire ride back, woke up, his head spinning. He had to painfully put together the events that had happened. He sat back and slightly groaned. BeBe knocked on the door, opening it for Kev. "You alright Kev?" he asked. "Yeah I am, thanks man." Kevin meekly said. He tried to sit up and get out, however, everything was blurry and his head started to pound. "Come on, lean on our shoulders," BeBe instructed his friend. Reluctantly, Kevin put one arm around his brother and BeBe, and they helped him into the house. Once they got into the guest room, they helped him out of his shirt and into bed. "Thanks guys. This is really embarrassing, so please let this stay a secret." He managed to laugh a little through his physical and emotional pain. "Hey, your secret is safe." Dan told him. As soon as he stopped laughing, Kevin immediately frowned. "Why did she have to lie to me? She should've known that I could help her…." "I don't know man, maybe she was afraid." BeBe said. "But I'm sure that doesn't stop the fact that you love her and would do anything for her. Am I right or am I wrong?"
BeBe didn't get his answer; Kevin immediately fell back into his deep slumber.
