AN: Like I've been saying with almost every chapter I post for this story I'm trying to update as much as possible. Now since we're getting close to the Battle of Hogwarts and the Final Battle the chapters will be longer. Its inevitable with all the chaos that occurs during the two battles. Once again anything you recognize is JK Rowling's anything you don't is mine,
Sirius and I were running through the halls our wands at our sides. Ron was staying back in the Room of Requirement to help Harry when he would eventually go looking for us. Sirius and I came to a stop and my mouth dropped open in shock.
"Severus?" I whispered looking over one of my closest friends. He looked terrible. His eyes were sunken in and his skin was pale. The smell of Firewhiskey was rolling off his breath. Merlin, what happened to him?
"Where's Harry?" He asked desperately a slightly panicked look in his eyes.
"He went to Ravenclaw tower, why?" Sirius asked nervously.
"The Dark Lord is coming for Harry." I swayed and I gasped out a breath. "I need to get him my memories so that he knows what he's facing."
"What do you mean?" But Severus didn't respond. He turned away his cloak billowing behind him. "Severus wait!"
He turned to me a haunted look in his eyes. I ran forward and enveloped him in a hug. "Be safe."
"You too." He turned towards Sirius and shook his hand before turning down the hall again. Once he was gone I turned to Sirius.
"He thinks this will be the final battle doesn't he?" I asked my voice shaking.
"Yeah, he does." Sirius said running a hand through his hair. I ran a hand over my eyes and let out a heavy breath.
"Sirius I –"
"Who's there?" Professor McGonagall asked desperately. Sirius and I turned to each other our eyes wide.
"It is I," a silky voice said. Severus.
"Go!" I whispered shoving Sirius towards the steps that led down to the first floor.
Ron POV
More and more Order members and old D.A. members were streaming through the portrait. It was quickly turning into chaos. Lupin was showing pictures of his son to some of the Order members while mum was yelling at Fred and George in a secluded corner.
The door slammed open and Harry ran in panting slightly. Luna followed a moment later and I pulled her into my arms. Her body shook and I placed a kiss against her forehead.
"Harry, what's happening?" Lupin asked running over to him.
"Voldemort's on his way, they're barricading the school— Snape's run for it—What are you doing here? How did you know?" He asked looking around the room in shock.
"We sent messages to the rest of Dumbledore's Army," Fred explained. "You couldn't expect everyone to miss the fun, Harry, and the D.A. let the Order of the Phoenix know, and it all kind of snowballed."
"What first, Harry?" George called scratching at the hole where his ear used to be. "What's going on?"
"They're evacuating the younger kids and everyone's meeting in the Great Hall to get organized," Harry said. "We're fighting."
There was a great roar and a surge toward the foot of the stairs, Harry almost fell from all the people rushing past him. Fred caught him and smirked at him.
"Come on, Luna," Dean said holding out his hand. "Your great at dueling and we really need you out there."
She nodded and pulled away from me. "Love you."
"I love you too." I muttered kissing her. Dean and Luna were about to leave when a snatched Dean's arm. "Keep her safe."
"I will." He said with a nod then darted out the door.
An angry scream made me turn around. Mum was holding onto Ginny trying to hold her back. Around them stood Lupin, Fred, George, Bill, and Fleur.
"You're underage!" Mum shouted at Ginny as Harry approached. "I won't permit it! They boys, yes, but you, you've got to get home!"
"I won't!" Ginny snapped her hair flying wildly around her. "I'm in Dumbledore's Army—"
"A teenagers' gang!" Mum snapped.
"A teenagers' gang that's about to take him on, which no one else has dared to do!" said Fred.
"She's sixteen!" shouted mum. "She's not old enough! What you two were thinking, bringing her with you—"
Fred and George slumped and looked nervously at each other.
"Mum's right, Ginny," said Bill gently. "You can't do this. Everyone underage will have to leave, it's only right."
"I can't go home!" Ginny shouted, angry tears sparkling in her eyes. "My whole family's here, I can't stand waiting there alone and not knowing and—"
Her eyes met Harry's for the first time. She looked at him beseechingly, but he shook his head and she turned away tears streaming down her cheeks, "Fine," she said, staring at the entrance to the tunnel back to the Hog's Head. "I'll say good-bye now, then, and—"
There was a scuffling and a great thump: Someone else had clambered out of the tunnel, overbalanced slightly, and fallen. He pulled himself up on the nearest chair, looked around through lopsided horn-rimmed glasses, and said, "Am I too late? Has it started? I only just found out, so I–I—"
Percy spluttered into silence. Evidently he had not expected to run into most of our family. There was a long moment of astonishment, broken by Fleur turning to Lupin and saying, in a wildly transparent attempt to break the tension, "So—'ow eez leetle Teddy?"
Lupin blinked at her, startled. The silence between everyone seemed to by solidifying, like ice.
"I—oh yes—he's fine!" Lupin said loudly. "Yes, Tonks is with him—at her mother's—"
All I wanted to do was hex my older brother. Now he decided to change sides?
"Here, I've got a picture!" Lupin shouted, pulling a photograph from inside his jacket and showing it to Fleur and Harry.
"I was a fool!" Percy roared, so loudly that Lupin nearly dropped his photograph. "I was an idiot, I was a pompous prat, I was a—a—" His eyes flashed and he shook his head. "No I can't do it anymore."
"Do what?" Fred asked glaring at Percy.
"Pretend that I haven't been a spy for Dumbledore this whole time."
Sirius POV
Hermione and I stood in front of a wall that had two serpents entwined with glowing green eyes. She leaned forward and made a horrible hissing sound. Nothing happened.
"Damn, sorry let me try again."
"Don't worry, love, take your time." She nodded and leaned forward and made the hissing noise again.
The serpents parted and Hermione let out an exhilarated cry. "Yes!"
"Come on we should hurry." I said grabbing onto her hand. She nodded and followed after me holding tightly to Hufflepuff's cup.
"Merlin," I muttered looking around the room. It was absolutely amazing. Towering stone pillars entwined with more carved serpents rose to support a ceiling lost in darkness, casting long, black shadows through the odd, greenish gloom that filled the place.
The dead basilisk lay on the stone floor. I ran forward and started to pull out as many teeth as I could being careful not to prick myself.
"Sweetheart?"
"Yeah?" She asked placing the teeth into her beaded bag. "I think you should destroy the cup."
"What?!" Hermione pulled away from me as if she had been burned.
"Baby I believe in you." I said placing another fang in her hand.
"Okay but Harry said these things put up a hell of a fight." She muttered standing up to her full height.
"Don't worry." I said watching her. She took a deep breath and took a step back raising the fang.
"What the –" I gasped as three figures started to rise from a thick smoke that poured from the cup. It was Herman, Jean and Sebastian.
"YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A FREAK!" Hermione let out a sob and her arms dropped.
"Don't believe it baby! Your family loves you!" I yelled.
"FREAK!" Hermione slumped tears streaming down her cheeks.
Suddenly they changed. It was me. Or at least I think it was me. And Ginny was standing next to me much more beautiful than she actually looked in real life. Ginny's hair was whipping around her and she turned to me smiling seductively.
"I love you Sirius." The ghostly version of Ginny whispered seductively.
"I love you too Ginevra." And then the other me was kissing her. I pulled back in horror and disgust as I watched the two of them snog and rip at each other's clothes like animals.
"BABY ITS NOT TRUE! STAB IT" I yelled desperately. Hermione rose the fang and with a scream of rage she stabbed it into the cup. Her shoulders slumped and she turned away from me sobbing brokenly into her hands
