AN: Now that the final battle is done the chapters will slow down. When you are writing intense moments like a battle it is very easy to write one chapter another. Unfortunately for me and luckily for you it will take me more time and creativity to keep going. I'll pe perfectly honest it will only be about ten to fifteen chapters till the end. Once again anything you recognize is JK Rowling's anything you don't is mine.

Sirius POV

I sat next to Hermione's side holding her hand in mine. The final battle was over. Voldemort was dead. But my wife, my beautiful wife had a concussion from when she had hit the wall. Poppy was pretty sure she had passed out from brain swelling. Just thinking that made my throat tighten.

"How are you holding up Pads?" Remus asked sitting down next to me.

"Fine." It was a knee-jerk response. Automatic. Honestly it came out before I even formed a thought on how I felt.

"Sirius –" Remus blew out a breath. "She'll be okay. I'll be back in a little bit okay? I'm just going to get you a little something."

I nodded but didn't respond. My eyes drifted toward Severus where he was laying next to my wife. Poppy was trying to figure out exactly what kind of snake Nagini had been but right now he was taking six potions an hour the most prominent one being a blood replenishing potion. He was sleeping now thick bandages wrapped around his neck.

"How did you know?" A voice asked from behind me. I turned towards Harry. He didn't look upset but more confused than anything.

"How did I know what?" I asked as he sat down next to me.

"About Professor Snape? You and Hermione both knew didn't you?" Harry ran a hand through his hair.

"Yes. Do you remember shortly after Hermione and I married when she was almost catatonic with grief?" Harry nodded. "Hermione overheard Severus and Albus talking. She heard enough to put everything together. Once Albus found out he brought us to his office and tried to only tell us what we needed to know but we eventually got the whole story."

"Why didn't you tell us?" Harry asked looking at Severus.

"Albus made us swear not to say a word to anyone." I blew out a heavy breath.

"Was it an Unbreakable Vow?" Harry asked turning to me.

"No... he asked us if we thought we could handle it without one and we never took it." I said leaning back against the wall.

"Hannah it'll be okay." Neville murmured softly. My eyes drifted over to where Hannah was laying staring blankly at the ceiling. She had been thrown through the air and hit a wall pretty hard. Poppy had checked her over and said that one of her lumbar vertebrae had shifted and wasn't healable. Hannah would never be able to walk again. She was paralyzed from the waist down. Ever since Poppy had told Hannah she became a selective mute and wasn't speaking.

"Do you think she'll be okay?" Harry asked looking over at Hannah.

"I hope so but -"

"POPPY!" Ron yelled making us all jump. He had been doing that ever since he had brought Luna over. No one seemed to know what spell she had been hit with but they were flushing her eyes out with Dittany every ten minutes hoping something would heal. But so far there had been no change. Luna was blind and had been crying hysterically ever since she found out.

"Is it just me or did it seem like it was our group that got hurt the most?" Harry asked looking around the room.

McGonagall had brought out the four house tables but no one was sitting by house anymore. The area where the injured were being worked on was where the head table used to be. The closest table to where we were was the Ravenclaw table. The Malfoys were sitting there with Susan Bones who was talking animatedly with Narcissa. Draco had his leg stretched out in front of him and was wrapped in a splint till more Quick Fix Bone Mender could be made.

My eyes continued around the room where different people were sitting drinking and laughing. For them the battle was finally over. Everything was perfect with them.

"Where's Ginny?" I asked when my eyes landed on the Weasleys.

"She's asleep in her bed. I told her I would be up to join her soon." I turned to look at Harry and was surprised to so his cheeks turn pink.

"Harry be careful." He flushed darker and ran a hand through his hair.

"I will." He muttered before jumping up to leave the room.

I lowered myself next to Hermione and played absently with one of her curls. Why did it have to be my wife? It seemed that everything happened to her.

"DADDY!" I looked up at the familiar voice and gasped.

"Emily!" I jumped up just in time for her to hurl herself into my arms. Her body shook with sobs as she pressed her face against my side.

"Sirius!" Herman and Jean were pushing their way through the tables trying to reach me. Jean stopped and pulled Sebastian into her arms.

"We just found out." Herman said coming to a stop next to me.

"How –?"

"Remus, he told us he would keep us updated after he left." Jean said shifting Sebastian in her arms.

"Oh," I muttered pulling Emily into my arms. She wrapped her legs around my waist and leaned her head against my shoulder. "What all do you know?"

"That Harry defeated Voldemort and Hermione has a bad concussion." Herman said kneeling next to Hermione.

"I guess that sums it up." I said after a long moment.

Poppy suddenly bustled by holding a potion bottle in her hand. "How's Hermione doing?"

"She seems to be fine." I said looking down at my wife.

"Let me just check her bandages and run a diagnostic spell." Poppy said waving her wand to vanish the bloody bandage that had been hastily wrapped around Hermione's head to stop the blood flow.

"The cut is healing nicely." Poppy muttered manually wrapping a bandage around Hermione's head. She took a step back and waved her wand. A moment later Poppy's wand vibrated and a rolled up piece of parchment came out of the end. She unfolded and quickly read over the parchment. Her eyebrows became closer together the further she read.

"Sirius?"

"Yes?" I asked lowering Emily to the floor.

"Could I speak to you alone, please?" She asked pinching the bridge of her nose. I followed her as we took a few steps away from everyone. Poppy turned to me her eyes flashing.

"Why didn't you tell me?!" She snapped.

"Tell you what?" I asked drawing back in confusion.

"That Hermione's pregnant!"
