Chapter six-To Survive

(Near a clinic)

Asami was leading a group toward the clinic. This was mission to salvage medicine for the old woman.

"Man, I still can't believe you had those guns hid," Hiro said quietly to Takashi and Kohta, both armed with their guns.

"You're not that animate at taking them from us," replied Takashi.

Hiro shook his head, "Nope, I've done the same thing. You need to keep your weapons safe."

Takashi smiled at Hiro's reply. He even said some of favorites he wanted to have.

'Not a bad selection,' thought Kohta with respect at the choices.

"Please, let's keep moving," Asami ordered nervously at her group.

That reminded them of their mission. The group kept walking toward the clinic quietly as possible.

They entered and it was eerily quiet. Slowly they moved in.

*Squeak*

That noised tensed the group. For about a few seconds, nothing moved. Making them breathe sighs of relief.

*Crash*

Suddenly various corpses broke through the windows, trying get to their meal.

"Dammit!" exclaimed Kohta trying not to shoot.

One of 'them' went after Kohta. Kohta tensed himself to stop it. But Asami acted quickly and used her baton to kill it.

"You okay?" asked Asami with a bit of blood on her.

"I'm fine, thanks," replied Kohta.

Asami smiled, but readied for the fight ahead.

Hiro used his modified weapon to kill there enemy. He even cursed at killing one of 'them' that was stacked.

"You hurry and get the plasma!" Takashi ordered trying to keep the attackers at bay.

Asami, Hiro and Kohta rushed into room that contained the blood.

"Excellent! This is good!" exclaimed a joyful Kohta, holding on to the plasma they needed.

"I'm done over here," Hiro called out with backpack filled with various supplies.

*Boom*

They stiffened at hearing a gunshot. Takashi ran inside the room.

"I'm sorry," said Takashi. "There were too many coming in."

"That's fine, but where do we go?!" asked Kohta.

Asami pointed up. "We go up!"

Takashi pointed his gun and fired. It made a hole big enough for them.

Both Hiro and Kohta grabbed various things to help them.

"Nakaoka-san, you're first," Kohta said to the police officer while offering a hand.

"No, please go first Kohta-san. Also, call me, Asami," replied Asami softly.

Kohta blushed at reply, but jumped into the room. Both Asami and Hiro looked shocked at seeing his jump.

"It's clear!" Kohta called out to his group.

Asami run up the makeshift ladder. Kohta helped the officer easily.

'He's stronger then he looks,' thought Asami with a blush.

"Komuro, Tamaru-san, please hurry," Kohta called out to the two.

Takashi went next with help from Kohta. Hiro hopped up, but lost his footing.

"Damn!" muttered the man trying to pull himself. He almost felt the corpse's hands on his legs.

Suddenly, he was above safely.

"Huh?" asked a lost Hiro. He looked to see Kohta holding him safely.

"You okay?" asked Kohta with no apparent strain.

"I'm…fine," replied Hiro not feeling any bites. He was lost at being held up like a…ragdoll.

Kohta put the young man down, but heard a noise.

"Move that spot is about to break!" ordered Takashi with fear.

Hiro moved quickly, which saved him but.

"Kohta-san!" screamed Asami in fear.

The otaku fell down the hole.

Desperately, Asami was about to run after him, but Takashi stopped her.

"Let me go! I have to help him!" cried out a struggling Asami.

"You can't! There are too many! Don't worry about Hirano, he'll be fine," replied Takashi.

Asami wanted to argue, but couldn't, "Your right. Let's go."

Takashi let go of the officer.

Hiro give the hole a solemn nod of respect.

"I'll never forget you Kohta-san," muttered Asami with a salute at the hole.

The group went out window, but Hiro heard something.

'What was that? That sounded like…flesh tearing,' thought the young man going out the window.

Asami started cry about Kohta's fate.

"I think we should move to a safe spot," said Takashi.

"Right," replied Hiro quietly.

"Let's move, that lady needs the plasma," said Asami quietly. She has the bag that contained the plasma.

*BOOM*

"What the hell?!" exclaimed Hiro in shock.

He wasn't the only one. The group looked see what caused the noise. It was fire of sorts in the opposite direction they were going.

*Bam*

Another strange noise was heard, this one like a car crash.

"What is going on?" asked a lost Asami.

"I think it would be better, if we get going," said Takashi.

Both Asami and Hiro nodded. They started walking toward the mall on rooftops.

"We can get off here," said Hiro.

"Okay," replied a nodding Takashi.

Asami quietly followed them, still worried about Kohta. She stepped back and waited for the two to get down. Asami give one look toward the clinic, suddenly she smiled.

"Kohta-san!" she exclaimed while waving at otaku.

Hiro looked confused at the outburst, and looked to see it was indeed him.

"Man, your one lucky bastard," commend Hiro with a smile.

"It would seem so," replied a sheepish Kohta.

Takashi only nodded, but knew the real reason he survived.

'He must have used his claws and tendrils. Even that fire was his doing,' thought the dark-haired teen.

"Do you have any bites?" asked Hiro.

"I'm clean," answered Kohta.

Hiro looked him; indeed he didn't look there was one.

'Thankfully my abilities were there when I needed them,' thought a thankful Kohta. After he landed on the floor, he used his armaments on the horde.

When he got outside, he tried use a car's horn, but that didn't work. So he went with next best thing, make a lot of noise with the discarded cars.

"Wait for me!" Asami called out to the young man.

They nodded while Kohta walked toward the police officer.

"Do you need a hand?" offered Kohta.

Asami shook her head. "I got it!"

Kohta's eyes widened in fear, Asami lost her footing.

"Asami-san!" exclaimed Kohta moving to help her.

*Bam*

"Ow," muttered Asami. She landed on her butt. She seemed fine.

Asami started to get up. Kohta got a nosebleed.

"Kohta-san what's wrong?" asked a confused Asami. She could even see the other males looking away.

Asami got up and started dusting herself off. She stiffened at feeling something missing, slowly she looked down.

"EEKKK!" she screamed, her dress was missing showing off her underwear. That was blue with pink stars.

Suddenly, Asami glared at Kohta.

'Oh no!' thought Kohta stiffening.

"Ecchi!" exclaimed Asami with a slap.

Which landed on the otaku's face, it didn't hurt him, but moved Kohta's head to the side.

Asami tried to cover her panties while running toward the mall.

As for Kohta, he tried to lose the image of Asami's cute underwear.

'In a strange way, they suit her,' thought the red face otaku. He slowly started back to mall.

As for Takashi and Hiro near-by.

"I think it's better to say, nothing happened here," said Takashi calmly.

"I second that," replied Hiro with a raised hand.

They followed the two back to their save haven.

However, Hiro took a quick look back seeing marks in the road.

'Those weren't there before, also. How did Hirano survive that horde? Even Komuro said he would be fine…no! He knew that Hirano would make it!' thought Hiro at the signs. Like when the otaku had saved him at the clinic.

Hiro keep thinking about them on his walk back.

Kohta walked into the mall to see a glaring Toshimi.

'That's no good,' thought a sweat dropping Kohta.

"Hirano-san," Toshimi said very sweetly.

"Y-yes," answered a nervous Kohta.

"Why did Nakaoka-san have her dress missing?" asked the pigtailed girl firmly.

"There was an accident. She lost it," answered Kohta at attention.

Toshimi hummed while looking at the otaku.

'This feels like an investigation,' thought a sweating Kohta.

"Okay, Marikawa-sensei is giving the plasma to the old lady. Did the others make it?" Toshimi replied calmer.

"We're fine," said Takashi walking in with Hiro.

"Glad to see your back," said Toshimi with a smile. "I'll let everyone know."

Toshimi left the group of guys.

Hiro closed the door and made sure it was locked.

"What's wrong Hirano?" asked Takashi with a raised eyebrow. It seemed something happened.

"I'm…not sure," answered the otaku scratching his cheek.

"Fine, but let's hide our guns," Takashi said to the otaku quietly.

Kohta nodded in agreement. They went to place them in their secret spot.

As for Hiro, he went off to rest.

In the make-shift medical room, the old lady showed improvement. Her husband looked relieved at the change.

Shizuka smiled at seeing it working. Alice was the one who give her the supplies. That police officer, she had no idea where she went.

(With Asami)

"Aw, I'm so embarrassed!" muttered Asami with tears running down her face.

She was in a changing stall with a replacement skirt. It wasn't police sanctioned, but will do.

Slowly, she lifted her shirt to look at her underwear.

"I had to wear my lucky panties today! If I know this was going to happen, I've would wearied a more mature one," muttered a blushing Asami.

Asami fixed her shirt and put on the replacement dress. It was a little short, but will do.

With a sigh, Asami walked out of stall. She stiffened at seeing Toshimi.

"Hello Niki-san," Asami greeted nervously.

"Hello Nakaoka-san," replied Toshimi calmly.

"How can I help you?" asked Asami with a smile.

"Did you lose your dress from an accident?" asked Toshimi rather firmly.

Asami was a bit embarrassed at the question, but didn't back down.

"I did, why you ask?" replied the short woman tightly.

"I'm curious," answered Toshimi flatly.

"Okay," replied Asami.

The two looked at each other, sizing themselves up.

"Let's just get to the real reason," Asami finally said.

"What reason?" Toshimi asked.

"We're competing for Kohta's attention," answered Asami firmly.

"Your right," Toshimi agreed, understanding what the police officer was talking about.

"You better be ready, I'm not backing down. Even if you have bigger breasts then me," Asami stated with a red face. She knows her physique wasn't the best around, but she wasn't backing down.

"I'll keep that in mind," Toshimi replied calmly. Even though she had her fair share of lookers, they didn't really catch her eye.

Toshimi held out her hand. "May the best one win."

Asami took the hand and shake it. "Yes."

The two woman broke the handshake and went there separate ways.

(Later)

Kazuyoshi walked toward Shizuka, rubbing his head in thought.

"Any luck?" asked the nurse.

The young man went to see if there were any changes outside.

"No, but I've noticed something odd," replied Kazuyoshi thoughtfully.

"Which is?" asked Shizuka with a tilted head.

"Those zombies or 'them', a couple of them are…damaged," answered Kazuyoshi reserved.

"Damaged how? I mean they usually are so…dead looking?" replied the blond woman confused.

"Your right, but with cuts," said Kauzyoshi.

"Cuts?" asked Shizuka.

Kazuyoshi nodded. "Yes, they what looked slash marks of some kind. We know they only bite there victims. So where did they get those cuts?"

"That is strange," muttered Shizuka with a hum.

If what the young man said is true, who is doing it?

"No!" screamed a female voice.

The two stiffened at the scream and ran to see happened. They entered the food court to see it was Asami.

"Matsushima-sempai! S-s-she's one of 'them'!" exclaimed the police officer while pointing at the corpse.

It was indeed the one who went for help, but she was a corpse. Strangely though, part of her arm was cut off.

"No one is coming to help us," muttered a lost Asami with tears.

She started to hit the window with frustration.

"Asami-san," Kohta called out to woman.

Asami glared at Kohta and spat out, "It's Asami you baka!"

Asami ran away toward the roof.

Kohta looked lost at the reply.

"We have a problem. Things are going to get worse here," said Saya with a sigh.

"Your right," replied Kazuyoshi. With this turn of events, the mall's group will fight each other.

The group needed to plan their next move.

(A room)

The mall's survivors were gathered in this room, talking about news of the police officer that went for help.

"What do we do now?!" asked the red-haired woman. She was dressed in a t-shirt with a short skirt.

"We can't stay here! That police officer is no good. I say we find a way to leave," said a bald man with a huff.

"That sounds good, but what those corpses! They are everywhere," replied Shimara untied, but kept a close eye on.

A student shivered at arguing, not sure as what to do.

Hiro was there listening to the conversation, but not paying attention. He kept thinking about the strange events with Kohta's group. He didn't ask them, but they seemed to hiding something.

"We're all going to die," said a teen darkly. He was dressed in punk clothing.

Everyone else looked the young man.

"What are you going on about?" asked the woman.

"If you think we're going to survive this, you're wrong!" he answered. "I watched movies on this and no lives through it."

Even more fighting spouted from the group at the statement.

Quietly, the male student got up and left.

(On the rooftop)

Asami kept crying. She didn't know what to do now.

"It's good to see your letting it out," said a female voice.

Asami looked to see Toshimi, smiling softly at her.

"I guess so," Asami muttered.

Toshimi walked toward the smaller woman. As for Asami, she huffed while wiping off her tears.

"I'm a mess," muttered Asami.

"Yep," replied Toshimi simply.

Asami looked conflicted at something.

"If you want to talk, I'm okay with it," said Toshimi.

"Are you sure?" asked Asami. "I mean…aren't we rivals right now?"

"True," Toshimi nodded. "But we're not enemies. So we don't have to knock each other down totally."

Suddenly, Asami hugged Toshimi. Calmly, Toshimi embraced the older woman.

"How can you be so calm?" Asami muttered the question.

"I'm not," answered Toshimi.

Asami looked at Toshimi, seeing the teen looking lost.

"Your sempai was she your friend?" asked Toshimi.

Asami nodded. "Yes, she was. Even though she was hard on me, she said that I could be a good officer. I just needed to work at it."

"You're lucky," muttered Toshimi tightly.

Asami broke the embrace and looked at Toshimi. "What happened?"

Toshimi looked away, struggling to answer that question.

"I'm sorry if it's painful," Asami apologized.

"It is, but I'll tell you," replied Toshimi softly. "You see at my school. I was trying to run away from 'them' with my friend."

Asami tensed at hearing Toshimi's tone, it was laced with steel.

"We've been friends for a long time. B-b-but during our escape…s-she abandon me! I was about to eaten by one 'them'; I know that I would have died! However, she tried to kick me off…like our friendship didn't mean anything!" Toshimi exclaimed with rage and frustration.

Asami felt sadness at hearing this.

"How did you survive?" Asami asked quietly.

"I'm not totally sure, but Hirano-san saved me," Toshimi answered softly.

"I guess both of us were saved by him," muttered Asami.

Toshimi nodded and replied, "Your right."

The two young women felt better after their own little chat.

(Part of the mall)

Both Takashi and Kohta checked there ammo.

"I don't have that many shells left," said Takashi sourly.

"Same here, at this rate it would be bett…damn it!" exclaimed Kohta with rage.

"What's wrong!" exclaimed an alert Takashi with everyone tensing at the outburst.

"I tell you what's wrong!" replied Kohta. "I was thinking about abandon those guns! If I stick to using my claws or tendrils, I'll be fine!"

"Isn't that a good thing? You don't have to worry about ammo, and those things seemed to be very effective," Takashi replied nervously.

"I know! But…" said the otaku scratching his head.

'That's one problem I would like to have,' thought Takashi with a sweat drop.

The rest of their group looked a little lost at the otaku's rambling.

Shizuka laughed nervously while putting her hair in a ponytail. She changed her clothes to a black string top with a white dress.

"Enough of dramatics," said Saya firmly. "We have to think about what's going to happen."

Everyone looked at the pink-haired girl.

"With the knowledge of police woman being dead, they will turn on each other," stated Saya.

"What about Asami-san, couldn't she help calm them," said Kohta.

Saya glared at Kohta. "That's no longer an option. The only thing really helping her was the hope of that supervisor officer going for help. But since she's dead, nothing is holding them together."

Kohta looked a little defeated at statement.

"I'm afraid that's right," said Kazuyoshi in agreement.

"So we better be ready to leave," said Saeko firmly.

Takashi also agreed with the teen. This caused Rei to glare at Saeko.

"We have no choice," muttered Kohta at the facts.

"Right, but we can have Nakaoka-san join us," Kazuyoshi offered.

"You think that's a good idea," said Saya. "We can't have her slowing us down."

Kohta suddenly glared at Saya.

"What is with that look?" asked a nervous Saya.

Even Rei tensed at seeing the glare.

"It's so easy to do that isn't?" asked Kohta firmly.

"W-well it is," Saya answered nervously.

"If that's the case, maybe I should just stay with her. I don't think it would be a problem for me," Kohta answered tightly.

"Are you sure Hirano?" asked a lost Takashi. "We haven't decided not to bring her."

Kohta looked at Takashi.

"For now, let's plan on what to do. We can't go half-cocked, with 'them' all over the place. Even if you are…different we don't know if your immune to being bitten by 'them'," said Takashi.

"You have a point; I haven't been bitten by 'them'. Hell, I've don't want to try and consume 'them'. I might get taken over by whatever they have," replied a calmer Kohta.

Saya let out a sigh of relief.

"I'll go and check on Asami-san, and find Niki-san," said Kohta about to leave.

"Sure, we might not go right now, but be ready," said a nodding Takashi.

Kohta left the place, going toward the rooftop.

"You're getting the hang of being the leader," commented Kazuyoshi.

"I guess so," replied a sheepish Takashi.

Kazuyoshi looked serious about something. "There is something I've noticed lately."

The group looked at the young man, curious. He started to talk about his findings.

(On the rooftop)

The two young woman finished letting out their frustrations. They heard a noise coming from the doorway; they looked to see the old couple.

"Is it alright, for you walk so soon?" asked a concerned Asami walking toward them.

"I'm fine dear. It's you who should be resting, you've had a rough day," said the old lady kindly.

"I've only did what a police officer would have done," replied a blushing Asami.

"Still it was very nice of you to do that," said the old man with a smile.

Asami lowered head in embarrassment.

"Asami-san, Niki-san are you here?" called out a voice.

The two woman answered Kohta's call.

Kohta arrived on the rooftop.

"It's good to see you're okay. Komuro is thinking of plan to leave," Kohta said to them.

"That's understandable, we weren't planning on staying long," said Toshimi.

Asami looked a little sad at them leaving, but knew this could happen.

"You can come with us Asami-san," Kohta offered softy.

"Come with you," Asami muttered softly.

"If you want," Toshimi said this time.

Asami thought it over, she could do it. Plus, she still was trying for Kohta's affection.

"That might not be a bad idea," said the old lady kindly.

Asami, Toshimi, and Kohta looked at older couple.

"You might help others if you leave," replied the older man this time.

"Your right," muttered Asami.

The suddenly heard a loud cry for help.

"What was that?" asked Toshimi.

Kohta looked serious. "Let's find out."

The two young women nodded and ran to see what it was.

"That kind of reminds of us," said the old lady in reminisce while hugging her husband.

"Yes, even the part of you having a rival," muttered the old man.

His wife nodded in agreement. They took one last look at entrance. The old couple then did what they wanted to do, which was commit suicide.

(A few minutes ago)

The student that walked away from the argument had a crazed look. He had enough of this, time to open that door! He could take 'them'.

He grinned about ready to open the door.

*BAM*

"Huh?" he muttered confused.

It sounded like…something was trying to break the door.

Carefully, he listened.

*BAM*

Another noise followed with a growl of sorts.

"What is that?" asked the teen lost.

He heard even more sounds, this time. Like things being squashed.

*ROAR* *BAM*

The teen screamed in fear, various spikes erupted from the floor. They almost hit him!

"H-h-help," he squeaked while moving away from the door.

The pounding became more frequent.

"Help!" he screamed while running away from the door.

All the other survivors ran at hearing the cry, each ready with their weapon.

"What's with all the noise?" asked the lady with a clever.

The student ran up the stairs. He was close enough to be heard by them.

"Something is at the door!" he exclaimed in fear.

"At the door?" asked Hiro suspicious.

"Yes! I don't know what's there!" answered the student.

"Why were you at the door?" asked Shimada firmly.

The student looked away.

"He was going to open the door," answered the thug.

The student nodded.

"What! Why in hell would you do that?!" asked the lady with rage.

The student was about to answer her, when.

*BAM*

The sound appeared again.

"What was that?" asked a young man with a white t-shirt.
"I don't know, but it's at the door!" answered the student pointing to the spot.

"What's at the door," said Asami appearing with Takashi's group.

They even armed themselves before getting there.

The other survivors looked confused at seeing their guns, but didn't care right now.

"We don't know whatever it is. It's trying to break in," answered Hiro pointing downstairs.
"Huh, what could do that?" asked a lost Asami.

She knows those corpses can't break doors or have the intelligence to open them.

"I think we're about to find out!" exclaimed Saya at seeing the door almost broken.

The group looked at the spot, waiting for whatever it was.

*BOOOM*

Debits and dust flew from the hole, but that wasn't what scared them.

"Holy shit! What is that thing?!" asked Shimada at seeing a new monster.

This monster was big, about ten feet in height. It was fat, but had very thick glowing arms. It roared in victory. It walked into the mall way slowly.

"That's a Juggernaut," muttered Saya in fear.

"You know what that thing is?!" said Hiro with shock.

"Yes, we do. But how is one alive?! There shouldn't be any! Unless…oh no!" said a scared Saya.

"Unless what?!" replied Hiro again.

"Unless a hive or lair has been made," answered Kazuyoshi reading his bombs.

Asami was shaking at seeing this monster, it was living nightmare. It might even be worse than the corpses.

The Juggernaut looked at group of humans and growled. It started walking toward the group.

"Shit! That thing knows we're here!" exclaimed the lady in fear.

The Juggernaut suddenly stopped with a growl.

"What's it doing?" asked Shimada.

He got his answer; 'them' were attacking the beast, but were failing to harm it. When they tried to bite the monster, their teeth were broken.

"That thing is bite proof," said man with the t-shirt.

The Juggernaut raised its massive hands and slammed them into the ground. To the shock of the humans, all of the corpses were flattened.

"Oh man, that thing is a walking earthquake!" exclaimed Hiro in fear of the monsters strength. He even felt the whole building shook from that attack.

"That explains it," muttered Kazuyoshi.

"Explains what?" asked Kohta.

"I've notice that the surrounding zombies were damaged. They must walked close to that monsters home, which mean the Blacklight virus is spreading," answered Kazuyoshi firmly.

Kohta cursed at the statement with his group.

"What do you Blacklight? I've never heard of such a virus!" exclaimed Hiro with a fist raised.

"It's the true name of the Mercer virus," Saya answered this time.

The other survivors became scared at hearing this. They know part of that story.

"Does that mean that virus is that cause of those corpses?" asked the lady.

"No, whatever they are carrying. It's not Blacklight, it's something else, but we have a bigger problem. That Juggernaut is coming!" stated Saya pointing at the infected creature.

Asami pointed her gun at the monster, but couldn't shoot. It was too far away.

The Juggernaut suddenly jumped toward them.

"Damn, that thing can jump!" exclaimed Takashi pointing his shotgun at the monster.

It landed close to the group of humans.

Asami fired at the Juggernaut, she was able to hit it, but it had no effect.

"No," muttered the police woman in fear.

"That thing is too armored! We need heavy weaponry to kill it!" said Rei.

"I'll try to bomb it," said Kazuyoshi ready with a bomb.

"Stop," Kohta ordered.

"Huh, why?" asked a confused Hiro.

"Look over there," answered the otaku pointing at 'them' walking into the building.

"Not good, if Momoi uses a bomb. We might have more coming," said Takashi with frustration.

Kazuyoshi slumped in depression. He was becoming useless at this rate.

"What do we do?! I don't want to be killed by that thing!" said the lady with fear.

Kohta glared at Juggernaut and put down his guns.

"Kohta-san?" muttered Asami.

"I'll take care of the Juggernaut," answered Kohta while removing his vest.

"What! That's crazy Kohta-san!" exclaimed Asami.

Even the rest of the mall survivors looked at the otaku with disbelief.

"It's not. I might be able to kill it," said Kohta readying to jump down.

"B-but Kohta-san," muttered Asami ready to grab the otaku.

Toshimi held out an arm to stop her.

"Niki-san?" asked Asami.

"Please trust Hirano-san. He might be the only one who could save us," said Toshimi softly.

Asami looked conflicted, but stayed at her spot.

"Hirano, we'll try to secure the place," said Takashi reading his shotgun.

Kohta nodded and looked Asami.

"I'm sorry Asami-san, but I've been keeping a secret," said Kohta softly.

"A secret, what kind of secret Kohta-san?" asked a lost Asami.

Kohta turned his attention to the Juggernaut and emerged his claws.

There screams of fear at seeing the otaku's change. Asami covered her mouth in shock.

Kohta pounced at the Juggernaut, which blocked the attack. There fight had begun.

"What is he?" muttered Hiro.

"We don't know," said Saya.

The mall survivors looked at the pink-haired teen.

"He is infected with the Blacklight virus, and where it didn't kill him. It transformed him into a new being. We found out that Mercer was the same way, which is why he was so dangerous," Saya explained to the group.

"No wonder he is so strong," muttered Hiro in realization.

"Kohta-san," muttered Asami, worried about him.

Even Toshimi watched the fight with concern for him.

'Hirano-san, please be careful,' thought the pigtailed girl with clasped hands.

Kohta dodged the spikes from the Juggernaut.

"Damn, he might not be fast like that Brawler. But he makes up for it with power," muttered the otaku.

The Juggernaut tried another attack with its hammerfists. Kohta jumped away before he was hit.

"Time to change tactics," said Kohta changing his arms to their tendril form.

"He can change his arms into something else," said the red head.

Kohta launched a barrage of tendrils at the Juggernaut. The Juggernaut fought the restraints, they were slowly breaking. Kohta leaped at one of the Juggernauts fists and broke it off.

The monster roared in pain. Kohta jumped away before it could retaliate.

"He can use tendrils to!" exclaimed the man at the site.

"Yes, he can," answered Shizuki with a shiver, thinking about something else.

Saya sighed at nurse, knowing what was going through her mind.

"Here they come!" Takashi called out to everyone.

Saya tried to shoot at 'them', but missed.

"Damn, I don't know how to use it," muttered Saya in frustration.

Luckily for her, the others were picking up the slack.

Kohta launched another barrage of tendrils at his opponent. They restrained the monster, acting quickly. Kohta switched over to his claws and slashed at it.

Sparks were formed, but it was hurting the Juggernaut.

Suddenly, the Juggernaut grabbed Kohta and threw him.

Both Asami and Toshimi screamed Kohta's name in fear.

The otaku slammed into the wall, making a dent in it.

"Ouch, that's smarts," muttered Kohta in pain.

He recovered and dodged another spike attack from the Juggernaut. Acting quickly, Kohta attacked the monster's head with his claws.

The Juggernaut roared in anger while trying to grab the otaku.

"Goodnight ugly," muttered Kohta grabbing the Juggernauts head to slam it into the ground.

The ground shook with the Juggernaut's landing. Kohta pulled the monster's head that gushed blood. While this was happening, Kohta's black tendrils sprouted out, latching on to his prey.

"What is he doing now?!" said the red head in fear.

"Something that would make a person go vegetarian," answered Saya sourly.

The group watched Kohta eat his meal, with sickling fasciation.

"Your right," muttered a sick Shimda.

"So what now," Takashi said out loud to everyone.

"Time to see if he is a prototype," said Kazuyoshi watching this.

Kohta stood calmly amongst the remains of the Juggernaut. Suddenly, a familiar sensation racked his body.

"Is that normal?" asked a shaky Hiro.

"It is," answered Toshimi.

Kohta shivered while his hands became bigger. When finished changing, they looked like the Juggernauts hammerfists, but smaller. The hammerfist made Kohta lower to the ground at the sudden weight increase.

"He absorbed those things fists! That's so…badass!" exclaimed Hiro in excitement.

"This confirms it, he is a prototype," Saeko stated at the site.

The rest of her group nodded in agreement.

"Look out, there over there," warned a mall survivor seeing a group of them walking behind Saeko's group.

They tensed at the warning, reading for this group.

Kohta looked over his hammerfist, feeling there weight.

"They're pretty heavy, but powerful," muttered the prototype feeling the knowledge coming to him.

He looked up to see his group in danger. He smirked at an idea.

"Time for a test run," muttered Kohta, banging the fists together.

Kohta wall run up a pillar.

"He can go up walls," muttered the red-head in awe.

Kohta leaped off the pillar toward the group of 'them'.

"Oh no, he isn't thinking of that!" screamed Saya in fear.

Kohta glided over there and screamed, "Cannonball!"

Kohta noise dived at the group.

*BOOOM*

With his landing, spikes erupted around him. It even shook the platform.

"Damn," muttered Shimada at the attack, holding on to the rails.

Even some of the others held on to them.

Hardly any of 'them' survived the attack.

Kohta recovered from his attack with a grin. "Oh yeah, I'm enjoying this."

"Be careful you baka!" Saya screamed at otaku.

Kohta looked at the pink-haired teen, lost.

"There's a chance you could bring the building down!" answered Saya. "Those fists are creating shockwaves, so be careful."

Kohta lightly glared at Saya, but switched over to his claws.

Asami pointed behind him. "Look out!"

Kohta tensed at the warring, he looked to see one of 'them' coming. With a simple swipe, he beheaded the corpse.

"And he is worried about having ammo," muttered Takashi with a sweat-drop.

"Forget guns, I want those claws!" exclaimed Hiro with envy.

"Now's not the time for to be goggling! We've have 'them' coming in!" Saya screamed at everybody.

'Speak for yourself,' thought Saeko flatly. Even she wanted to have those claws or a blade like Mercer. She had seen the picture of him with a blade.

Even the others didn't know what to think about the prototype's claws, those things looked handy.

Toshimi suddenly fired at 'them' from behind Asami, causing her to squeak a little.

"Sorry, but watch your back," Toshimi replied calmly.

"Yes," Asami replied tightly at the teen. She wasn't going to be out done!

The rest of their group started to fight off the attackers. Even Rei and Saeko had their own little spat like Toshimi and Asami.

"It's time for us to leave," Takashi ordered to everyone.

His group agreed with him, but most of the mall survivors didn't want to leave.

"We're staying here," said the red-head.

"Well there is no reason for them come with us," said Kazuyoshi.

"Where would they go?" asked Kohta.

"We're taking the roof," answered the blond-haired man.

Kohta thought of an idea to help them.

"You get there, I'll make a blockage for you," Kohta told the ones who wanted to stay.

They ran off to the rooftop.

"You're going with them, Tamaru-san?" asked Kohta at the young man.

"Yes, I don't feel running around. So I'll stay here for a bit longer, good luck out there Hirano," replied Hiro with a thumb up at the otaku.

"Same to you," replied a smiling Kohta.

Hiro ran-off to the roof for safely with the others who made it.

Kohta slammed his hammerfist into the wall. Bringing it down, blocking the way to the roof.

"That should hold for a while," muttered the otaku.

The prototype looked at his group, seeing Asami rushing off. Rei followed the officer.

"What's she up to?" muttered Kohta, confused.

"We need those," Asami said to a sweat dropping Rei while handing her fireworks.

The police officer kept muttering off the fireworks, putting them into a paper bag.

"Alice-chan, those are for you," Asami called out to the young girl.

Alice took them with confusion.

"Those corpses use sound to hunt, so this will distract them," Asami explained to little girl.

"Oh," Alice replied with a nod.

Asami used the borrowed lighter she had, to light a couple of firecrackers. She throws a couple of poppers at one of 'them'.

Instantly, the corpses walked toward the noise.

"Excellent, let's go," Asami said to everyone quietly.

"Why are you coming with us?" Kazuyoshi asked at Shimada, tightly.

The man didn't go with other survivors.

"I don't feel like staying," answered Shimada.

Kazuyoshi glared at him, causing Shimada to step back a bit.

"I guess you tag along, but," Kazuyoshi brought out a throwing knife out that gleamed. "If you have another playful moment, I'll whip this out so fast. You won't know what hit you."

Shimada nodded with a blue face. He knows that the young man was very good with those knives.

"Let's go," Takashi called to everyone.

They nodded while running toward the other emergency exit.

(At a parking plaza)

Around the area, it was isolated. There seemed to no 'them' around, but it did have a person.

It was Loki sitting down on car, even though writing on a note pad. He kept his guard up, too many things could wrong.

"What is that causes the one with the lost light to fight ones with the light. Is it to reclaim the light they lost or is it to take revenge for having it? They keep on lookout for more light keepers, never resting. What will it take for them to stop?"

Loki stopped writing at hearing a small noise. He looked up with his gun ready; he relaxed little at seeing Shido.

"About time he showed up," muttered the mercenary. He had called him to meet him here.

This place was safe for the moment, plus he didn't trust this man. He never trusts his employers to meet them without a plan. It's so easy for them to change their option on his…usefulness.

'He better have my payment,' thought Loki, getting up to meet the teacher. No longer caring about his notepad he used.
