I do not own Bleach.
Shunsui looked beside him as he walked beside his best friend. They had just finished their meeting. "So, who is she?" Shunsui smiled at the slight blush he could see on his friend's face.
"She's someone that I met in the world of the living." Jushiro noticed a sly smile crawl into his best friend's face. "She helped me find a cure for my illness."
"I see." Shunsui nodded as he thought of how to get his friend to elaborate more. "How serious are you both?" He glanced at his friend out of the corner of his eye.
Jushiro met his friend's gaze the same way he gave it. "If you had read the report I had given, then you would know that I had left her out." He laughed as Shunsui pouted. "See, you should do your own work sometimes."
"Yare, yare. You sound like Nanao-chan sometimes." Shunsui laughed with his friend. "So what are you going to do?"
Jushiro looked at his friend questioningly. "What do you mean?"
"Do you plan on courting her? Marrying her in the future? Have cute little children with her?" Shunsui stopped when his friend tripped. "You okay?"
"I'm fine." Jushiro pushed his hair out of his face as he stood back up. "And we haven't spoken in a while. A long while I might add. I can't just start with a proposal." He began walking with his friend again. They weren't walking anywhere in particular, just walking.
"Then start it where it left off." Shunsui shrugged as he fell into step beside his friend.
"Nothing ever started...sort of." Jushiro massaged his neck as he thought. He didn't know how to classify their relationship when he left her. That kiss was spontaneous.
"Sort of? Did anything ever happen between you two?" Shunsui knew Jushiro hadn't been in any serious relationship with a woman since their academy days, but he didn't expect him to act like a teenager again.
"We talked a lot. Spent time together. And we did kiss before I left. But I left after that kiss." Jushiro eyed his friend as he spoke. He knew he was going to be given advice. Bu he was weary of anything his friend offered. Shunsui was a bit eccentric about romance.
"Seems you have a solid foundation. And don't worry about anything, I will help you." Shunsui smiled as he thought of how to get his friend and the girl alone.
Jushiro sighed as he watch the wheels in Shunsui's head turn. "Thank you for the offer Shunsui, but I don't need romantic help from you."
Shunsui turned to his friend with a pout. "But Juu-chan-"
"Excuse me." Both Taichous looked ahead of them. A tall, female shinigami with silver hair stood in front of them. Isane bowed to the Taichous before speaking. "Inoue-Taichou told me to come get Kyoraku-Soutaichou."
"Is something the matter at 4th?" Shunsui wasn't used to the new Taichou of 4th squad Taichou summoning him. The first few times was because she wasn't used to the rough attitudes of 11th squad members. After that was for check up on Nanao-chan's health.
"No. It's completely healthy and strong." Isane smiled as she told the Soutaichou what her Taichou had told her to say. She suppressed a laugh as the Soutaichou stared back at her in confusion.
Jushiro laughed openly at the frown of confusion that was on Shunsui's face. He jabbed an elbow into his friend's side. "Shun, someone is waiting for you. Or, I should say they are waiting for you."
Shunsui stared at his friend as his worked through what they were saying. 'They? It's healthy?' His eyes widened as he remembered other instances where those words were used. He turned to Isane with a smile. "Thank you, Isane-chan." Shunsui took off in a flurry of Shunpo towards 4th.
Jushiro chuckled as he watched his friend leave. "Did Inoue-Taichou tell you to used the same summon as the last time?" The exact same situation had happened when he had found out about his first child, almost 20 years ago.
"Yes. She hoped he would hurry over. That way Central 46 is less inclined to make a visit." Isane smiled as she bowed to the Taichou. "I should head back. Oh. And the girl you brought in has woken up as well."
Jushiro smiled at the news. "Thank you, Isane-san."
Jushiro caught up to his friend as he was standing in the hallway in the hospital. "Aren't you going in?"
"Shh!" Jushiro was shocked that his friend shushed him. "Nanao-chan is having a chat with the your girl." Shunsui focused back on what the two women were saying. He could only catch a few words here and there, but so far it seemed like they were really good friends.
"Sakura is in there?" Jushiro looked inside the room. He saw the two women sitting on the bed and chatting happily. "Come on Shun. Your wife is waiting for you." Jushiro pulled his friend into the room with him. He turned his attention form his friend to the two women looking at them. "It's good to see you, Nanao-san. And I'm glad your awake, Sakura."
Sakura instantly blushed at Jushiro's greeting. She looked over at Nanao as she laughed. "He's the one." Sakura tucked her hair behind her ear nervously.
Nanao hugged her daughter and laughed at how cute she was. 'She gets this from me.'
Shunsui looked between the two women curiously. "You two seem close."
Nanao released Sakura as she turned to her husband. "Of course. Why wouldn't we be." Nanao giggled at her husband's confused look.
Shunsui smiled as he listened to Nanao's laugh. He had missed the sound. He looked back over at the girl that had his friend's heart. She was perfectly proportioned and had the face of an angel. He nudged his friend with his elbow. "You found yourself a cutie, Juu-chan."
Jushiro was about to retaliate, but laughter cominfrom the two other occupants of the room interrupted him. "What?" He didn't know what they were laughing at, but it seemed they both knew something Shunsui and himself did not.
Shunsui shook his head as he walked towards his laughing wife. He hugged her tightly as she jumped into his arms as he neared her. "Nanao..." He breathed as he held her close. "I've missed you."
Nanao pushed herself a bit away so she could look up at Shunsui. "I missed you too." Nanao smiled as Shunsui leaned down and pressed a kiss to her lips. She lost her hands in his hair as she returned his kiss with her own passion.
Sakura walked away from her mother once the man, her father she presumed, held her lovingly. She assumed they wanted a private moment.
Her eyes fell on the sole other occupant of the room. She returned the smile he was giving her as she walked towards him. "How are you doing, Jushiro?" Sakura tucked the other side of her hair behind her ear. She would need to find a new nervous habit.
Jushiro slid his hand into Sakura's once she got close enough. "I'm just fine. No more IVs for me."
"I'm glad." Sakura laced her fingers between Jushiro's as she looked up at him.
Jushiro pulled sakura close as he leaned down and kissed her. He felt her smile against his lips before she returned his kiss with one of her own.
Their kiss was broken by eager giggling. Sakura and Jushiro looked towards the other couple in the room. Nanao was trying really hard not to laugh loudly, but it was becoming difficult. This situation was very unlikely, if there weren't secrets between them.
"What's so funny?" Shunsui pressed a kiss to his wife's hair. He didn't know what was making her laugh so much.
"Oh, nothing much. Jushiro-san, why don't you show Sakura around Seireitei?" Nanao needed to be alone with Shunsui for what she was about to tell him. "She said she really wanted to look around. Says she has wanted to since you told her about Seireitei."
Jushiro looked down at Sakura and saw that she was blushing up a storm. He wrapped an arm around her shoulder. "Shall we?"
Sakura looked up at Jushiro with a smile. "Yes! Bye Nanao." Sakura waved to her mother as she left the room with an arm wrapped around Jushiro's.
Dun Dun Dudun! Sakura's father revealed...partially. But it's basically given away. The only time it was a mystery was at the beginning. I admit, it would be funny it Byakuya was her father. How would he react to a daughter that was so...not a Kuchiki? That would have been fun to see.
