I do not own Bleach.
Sakura smiled happily as she walked down the familiar street in front of her. She could probably navigate this street blindfolded. It led back to her childhood home, to her family here in the human world.
"This is such a lovely neighborhood." Nanao looked around as Shunsui led her behind their daughter. "It's so quiet and peaceful."
Shunsui chuckled looking around. The pavement was near spotless and the walls were untouched as well. "It certainly does have a very tranquil feel to it." He looked back to see his daughter facing them and walking backwards. She looked so comfortable in her surroundings. "Do any of your friends live nearby?"
Sakura shook her head. "No. All of my friends are off at university. The ones I applied to didn't accept me." Sakura stopped and stepped sideways up to a large gate. "Here we are." Sakura placed a hand on the gate and instantly frowned, the gate wasn't shut.
"Sakura-chan?" Shunsui noticed the frown form on his daughter's face and her eye narrow. "Is something wrong?" Shunsui examined the gate before them. Nothing seemed out of place to him.
Sakura pushed the gate open and ran into the compound. She heard her parents call after her and follow. The only sound Sakura could hear was her own heartbeat. It skipped a beat once she slid the front door open and found someone laying on the floor. "...no..." Sakura whispered as she stepped over the threshold of the house and approached the body.
"Sakura-sama?" Sakura looked up and smiled as she found Seia crawling from around the corner. "Is that really you?"
Sakura spotted the chain dangling from Seia's chest. "Seia-chan." Sakura looked down at the body neside her and knew it was Seia's, she was dead. Sakura looked back over at the girl that was the closest thing to a best friend she had ever had. "I'm so sorry Seia-chan."
Seia gave Sakura a gentle smile as she quietly made her way over to Sakura. She knelt down beside her and wrapped her arms around her. "It's not your fault, Sakura-sama."
"Sakura?" Sakura and Seia looked over at the door and found Nanao and Shunsui looking around. "Something is not right here."
"I know." Sakura stood and pulled Seia with her. "Seia, who did this?"
The girl opened her mouth to speak, but a voice from another room interrupted her. "AHHH!"
Sakura had her soul candy dispenser out and swallowing a gikon before the sound died down. She noticed her father had done the same thing beside her. Sakura looked over at her father who had done the same. "It came from the main room."
Shunsui nodded as he tried to find some trace of who their opponent might be. He looked over at the girl his daughter knew. "Seia-chan right?" Shunsui asked with a gentle smile. "Did you happen to see anything?"
Seia gave a hesitant nod. "At first people were just falling to the ground. But then I suddenly saw myself on the ground." Seia wrapped her arms around herself. "There was blood...so much blood...and he was...he was...eating them." Nanao wrapped her arms around the girl as she began shaking. "He had a bird mask and this bright red hair. And he was just killing everyone."
Sakura felt a growl leave her throat. She turned and stepped back onto the wood floor of her childhood home. She could faintly smell the trace of blood, but didn't see any.
Shunsui stepped up beside his daughter. "He staged the body. Knew you would come this way. He's trying to goad you into attacking head on."
"You don't think I know that?" Sakura looked up at her father. "What does Aizen gain from this?"
"I don't know." Shunsui didn't have a clue what Aizen would get from this. Maybe he wanted to see if this would push Sakura further? Or maybe it was just for his own sick, twisted pleasure? He didn't know. "We should go in from the back."
"I know the layout better." Sakura stopped her father as he began moving. "I know where the squeaky floorboards are and where the best sneak in point is. I've been playing in this house my whole life, it's my home turf."
Shunsui couldn't help the grin that found it's way to his lips. "Alright then. Where do you want me, Sakura-chan?"
Sakura matched her father's grin, she guessed she was acting somewhat like him. The military mind and strategizing. "Go in through this door. Give me about 30 seconds before you walk in. He probably won't attack right away."
"You've met this guy?" Shunsui frowned as possibilities went through his mind. The only conclusion he came to was that this man was a Hollow. And more specifically, one of Aizen's Arrancar, possibly an Espada.
"Yeah. Not a fun guy." Sakura gripped the handle of her zanpakutou. She turned towards the hall to her right. "Be safe, dad."
"You too, Sakura-chan." Shunsui began counting once his daughter was out of sight.
30 seconds.
