Elena's POV
My heart felt like it was beating out of my chest. I'm pretty sure that Damon could hear it from in here. The girls just finished helping me get my dress on. I look in the mirror. My hair was curled to perfection. With a half up hairstyle that was pulled back into a bump and a style that would be worthy of a disney princess. I can't believe it's actually happening. The girls looked gorgeous in their purple dresses. Jenna hands me my bouquet and I gasp. It was beyond beautiful. It contained a mix of white, blue and purple roses, blue cow lilies with purple centers, and blue Dendrobiums. It was perfect. The other bouquets matched but were smaller in size. I think the color scheme is amazing. I just love how the colors come together so beautifully.
*Knock at the door.*
"Are you ready Elena?" Jeremy asks from behind the door.
"More than ever." I replied. He opens the door and smiles.
"Elena...you look gorgeous."
"Thanks Jer."
I grab Jeremy's arms and let my bridesmaids go first.
Jeremy leads me outside down the path and through the woods..."Jere, where are we going? I thought we were having it out back by the fountain."
"The plans had changed. You're going to love it."
After walking through the woods for a while There was a large white silk tent. Jeremy leads the way through the tent insisting that I keep my eyes closed.
Jeremy finally allowed me to open my eyes. The sight before me was beyond gorgeous. We were where Damon had proposed to me. On top of the hill looking out into the beautiful mountains and stream. I smiled. I gasp when I see how everything was set up.
"We all worked all night to set it up. Damon was such a perfectionist. He wanted everything to be perfect for you Elena."
There was a purple aisle runner that went clear up to the altar. There wereseveral standing flower pot holders that looked like growing vines which held the most beautiful purple and blue flowers which were evenly scattered on both sides of the runner. As I looked further down the isle I could see Damon, but he couldn't see me. He was standing under a wedding arch made of vines and matching flowers. I noticed that there were flower petals scattered under his feet.
I hear Yellow by Vitamin string quartet start to play and knew it was time.
Caroline, Bonnie and Jenna make their way down the isle to the music. My heart starts thumping out of my chest.
"This is it." Jeremy states. "Are you ready to become Mrs. Salvatore?"
"Yes!" I smiled at him. We walked past the curtain hiding us from everyone. The few people that were there stood up. I lock eyes with Damon. I took a deep breath as Jere led me down the isle slowly towards him. He was smiling and looked so incredibly happy. I was smiling like an iddiot and didn't care one bit. It felt like it took an eternity to get to him. I could feel the tears form in my eyes but I didn't dare let them fall. All I needed was my makeup to run down my face and look horrible.
Jeremy takes my hand and puts it into Damon's. I couldn't help but smile just looking at my very soon to be husband.
"You may take your seats." Alaric announced.
We are gathered here today to join Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore in holy matrimony. They have decided to write their own vows to declare the love that they have for each other and to share it with everyone here today..
"Elena, you can go first." Alaric somewhat whispered.
"Damon, we have come a long way. And now here we are getting married and are soon to be parents. I have seen both the best and the worst of you. And I choose both of them because they are what make you the man I love. Today I take you to be my best friend, my faithful partner and my one true love. I promise to encourage you and inspire you and to love you truly through both the good times and bad. I will forever be there to laugh with you, to lift you up when your down and to love you unconditionally through all of our adventures in life together. I promise to acknowledge the positive things that you do, rather than dwell on the negatives. I promise to accept that we are different that we will see the world differently and over the course of our marriage we will want different things. Though I don't expect this to be easy, I will strive to be open-minded and loving about the way you see things. If I ever fail doing so, I will do my best to be tolerant. But most importantly I promise to love you with all my body, heart, soul...have I mentioned my body?" I winked at him causing him to chuckle.
"Elena, from the moment that you entered my world, you have filled it with life, color, and energy like never before...like kool-aid in a mud puddle, a cupcake in a salad, or better yet a rose garden in a junk yard. You are my rose, Elena, and I promise to devote my life to being your dirt."
I couldn't help but to laugh at this.
"Your personality and kind heart motivate me to be the best person that I can be. I guarantee to love you for endlessness, regarding you, respecting you, being dedicated to you, and sharing my whole life with you. I vow to love you now and forever. I promise to make you proud and be worth it. Worth your time, your energy, and most of all worthy of your love. I promise that you will always count. You will always come first, and of course, if you don't for whatever reason, I will hide behind our child's face so you won't be mad."
I laugh again a little harder, picturing him doing so. And I couldn't wait for that.
"Damon, do you take Elena to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do." He smiles looking at me.
"Elena, do you take Damon to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do."
"I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss the bride."
Damon's lips were soft against my own and moved in sync with mine. I could tell that he was estatic like I was just by how deep the kiss was gettting and by how quickly. I could feel his tongue lick my lower lip and I allowed him to enter deepening the kiss. Our tongues danced as one as we continued to state our love to each other. For a second I was completely lost with Damon.
"Ahem. Save it for the honey moon you too." Alaric smiled.
I pulled away sheepishly, slightly embarassed. But it was most deffinitely worth it.
