I do not own Bleach.
The flames grew brighter as the mist condensed more within the confined space. Till with a single crack, the glass shattered around the room. Sakura took a step towards Aizen, grabbed his collar, and threw him off the platform.
Aizen was surprised the girl was able to throw him, but she was over exerting herself. He looked back over to see her kneeling beside her half dead father.
"Can you move?" Sakura could see blood staining her father's clothes, but no wound.
Shunsui looked up at his daughter. "Yeah. I got the bleeding to the stop." He sat up and glared at Aizen.
Sakura followed her father's gaze. She placed a hand on his shoulder before standing. "Take care of Sora and Jushiro. Aizen is mine."
Shunsui said nothing as he stood and faced the platform. "Be safe." He knew he shouldn't stand in his daughter's way. She was too much like her mother, but also just like him.
Sakura smirked at her father's words. "No promises, I am your daughter after all."
Shunsui let out a sigh. "That's how I know what you are going to do."
"This is war after all." Sakura took a step away from her father and towards Aizen. The man was eyeing her curiously.
"What are you planning? What more could you possibly do?" Aizen watched as the girl walked past her cracked zanpakutou. "I see. You are going to summon another's zanpakutou. But you haven't trained with any."
"You would know wouldn't you?" Sakura stopped and held her hands out to her sides. "But you don't have eyes inside my mind." A ball of reiatsu formed in each of her hands. "Why don't I educate you a bit? You see, summoning someone else's zanpakutou is quite different than a zanpakutou's normal release. The shape and abilities mostly remains the same, but a different release phrase is normally required. Like so, Come Out and Play, Katen Kyokotsu." Sakura gripped the two reiatsu masses as they formed into her father's zanpakutou.
Aizen eyed the girl's stance, she was perfectly balanced, as thought she had years of training with the blades in her hands. "Fascinating."
Sakura adjusted her grip slightly as she prepared to attack. "Let's finish this. Bushogoma." She pivoted around on one foot as she sent her attack at Aizen. Quickly she followed after the attack.
Aizen back handed the wind blades with one hand and drew his sword with his other hand. He didn't move an inch as he blocked Sakura's Katen Kyokotsu. "I don't believe you understand just how powerful I am." He reached out towards the girl with his free hand. "Hado:90 Kurohitsugi."
Sakura narrowed her eyes as black walls closed around her. "Kageoni." She smiled as the shadows came to life around her. Emerging from the shadow behind Aizen, she stabbed her blades into the shadow, sending a pair of shadows blades into Aizen's back. "I think you are the one that does not understand how powerful I am."
Aizen looked behind him at the girl. "Then let me enlighten you." He held his sword out to the side of him. "I'm sure you have been told about what my zanpakutou does."
'Do not look!' Sakura shut her eyes at Katen Kyokotsu's warning. 'Now pay attention!' Sakura ducked and blocked a sword swipe. She was lucky that her sensing abilities were strong, mostly due to her half blindness.
Aizen let out an amused chuckle. "Do you plan to fight me with your eyes closed?" He continued to press his attack, hoping the girl would lose confidence and open her eyes.
"I intend to beat you with my eyes closed." Sakura ducked as another attack came at her. Then jumped up over her opponent. "Takeoni." She slashed down, but was met by his blade once more.
"You seem to know your father's zanpakutou really well. I wonder how he feels about that?" Aizen tossed the girl away from him. They were at a stand still in this battle.
Sakura stayed in a defensive crouch. She didn't know what Aizen would do. 'Katen, want to try it again?'
Sakura could feel the zanpakutou eying her. 'Are you sure that is wise? You almost died last time. And that was with no opponent.' Katen Kyokotsu hummed as she thought on the girl's plan. 'Perhaps one of your other games instead?'
'Let's hope I'm faster.' Sakura slowly stood from her crouch. Bringing her hand up to her face she pulled her hollow mask onto her face. "Onigokko." She quickly vanished into shunpo and shot off at Aizen. Slashing at him as she passed him.
Aizen blocked her attack, she wasn't aiming for any specific limb. "This is a new game." He slashed at her, but she avoided his blade all together. "Don't you want to play?"
"We are playing." Sakura pulled her mask off, her limit was coming up. "But don't go thinking we are the only ones playing. Isn't that right, Kyoka Sugetsu?" Sakura opened her eyes as smoke came off of Aizen's sword.
The smoke condensed till a woman stood in it's place. She wore a plain white dress that reached the floor. Her sleeves hung past her hands and dangled down to the floor as well. Her grey hair hung straight down her back and stopped at her lower back. When the woman looked up towards Sakura, she had no face.
"So this is what you look like in human form." Aizen had never seen his zanpakutou manifested as such a being. She had always been a mist with a voice. Never a tangible form. "I must say, it's anticlimactic."
"You would say something like that to your own Zanapkutou?!" Sakura glared at Azien. "She's your partner!"
"She is a tool." Aizen placed a hand into his pocket. "I have thrown her away once. Why should I need her again?"
Sakura stared at the man in disbelief. She then looked over at Kyoka Sugetsu. The zanpakutou was looking down at the ground. She was sure if she had a face, she would have been crying. "You are a cruel person." She gripped her swords and pointed one at Aizen. "Kyoka Sugetsu." She looked over at the downcast woman. "You are 'it'. Who are you tagging next?"
The woman looked up at the girl then down at her hands. Silence enveloped the three combatants. Then the woman took a step towards Aizen.
Aizen smirked as his zanpakutou walked to his side. "You see, nothing but a tool that obeys it's master's-" Aizen coughed as steel slid between his ribs. He looked into the blank face of his zanpakutou. "Kyo...ka?"
"I am not a tool." A calm voice came from the spirit as she pulled her blade from the man's chest. "What does being 'it' mean?" Kyoka Sugetsu looked over at the curious girl.
Sakura lowered her blades as she met the zanpakutou's eyeless gaze. "Being 'it' only means you get to name the next 'it'. And after a certain time of being 'it', you get a penalty." Sakura watched as Azien tried to stand again.
Aizen glared at the two woman. He lunged towards Sakura. "You can't beat me!" His attack was blocked by one of the girl's swords.
"I believe Katen Kyokotsu has something to say against that." Sakura smirked as a hand reached out and took the blade from her hand.
"That I do." Katen Kyokotsu pushed Aizen away from her wielder's daughter. "Seems my smaller half did not come out." She shrugged and turned her attention back to the man that was breathing heavily. "Now to repay you for earlier. Only I get to harm that man. Well, myself and Nanao-chan." Katen Kyokotsu smiled as she pointed her blade at the man.
Aizen glared at the zanpakutou. "So you can make a zanpakutou 'it'. What is the point of this game?!" Aizen yelled as he lifted his sword and blocked the zanpakutou's blade.
Sakura shrugged in response. "Games don't have a point. Otherwise they wouldn't be a game." She walked up to Kyoka Sugetsu as Katen Kyokotsu and Aizen exchanged blows. "You can leave him. You don't have to stay with him."
Kyoka Sugetsu lifted a hand up and touched the girl's forehead. "You are a kind girl." The edges of her face lifted up, almost as though she was smiling. "Thank you." Slowly Kyoka Sugetsu faded from view.
Sakura looked around as she tried to find the zanpakutou, but she was no where. "Die!" Sakura spun around and blocked Azien with the last blade in her hand. "Why do you fight against me?! I am God!"
Sakura glared at the man. "You are not God. You never where God. And you never will be." She lifted and twisted her blade around Aizen's, disarming him. She smiled as the blade in her hand faded as a small purple haired girl lunged forward, stabbing Aizen in the stomach with her blade. "And I forgot to mention something about this game. When you get tagged 'it' by a third person, you lose."
Silence filled the room as a once pristine white Aizen Sosuke, now covered a deep red from his own blood, stood tall. Then slowly fell backwards and laid still. No one breathed as they listened and waited. But the aspiring God did not draw breath.
Sakura sighed as she leaned forward onto her knees. "That was a lot of work." She looked up as the older Katen Kyokotsu joined her younger counter part. "Thank you both for your help. I could never have done this without you."
"Damn right." Katen Kyokotsu smirked at her wielder's eldest child. "And we will certainly have to play again in the future. Your father doesn't like playing as much as we would like to."
"Yeah, he's like that." Sakura stretched as she tried to find her father. She found him kneeling beside a still form of Jushiro. "Oh no." She quickly rushed over to see what was going on, dispersing Katen's summoning in the process. "Jushiro?" She asked as she walked up to the two men.
Both men looked over as Sakura walked up to them. Worry evident in her eyes. "I'm alright." Jushiro coughed a bit as his muscles spasmed. "Well, better than I was earlier at least."
Sakura gently nudged her father as she took over healing. Knitting muscle, veins, and skin together with precision. Shunsui chuckled as he watched his daughter work. "Kido master just like your mother. Now I see why Inoue-chan was upset when I put you in 8th squad." He chuckled again before standing up, his son sleeping on his shoulder. "I'm going to go see if I can find us a way out."
Sakura focused on healing Jushiro as her father left on his quest. She chewed her lip as she worked. "I've had worse you know." Sakura met Jushiro's brown/green eyes with her own indigo eyes. Jushiro gave her a gentle smile. "Although this does seem to be the most popular way I get taken out of a fight."
Sakura returned Jushiro's smile. "I'm glad you're still here." She laid her hands down on Jushiro's now healed chest.
Jushiro placed his hands over her's. "So am I." He reached up and tucked a stray strand of hair out of her face before holding her cheek in his hand. He leaned in till their lips met in a sweet kiss.
Sakura giggled a bit as they broke their kiss. "Now to deal with my over protective father. I think dealing with Aizen again would be easier."
"Shunsui can be scary at times." He had to agree with Sakura on that point. "But all he wants is for you to be happy."
"I am happy." Sakura gave Jushiro another short kiss. "I'm more than just happy with you."
The two just sat there, staring into each other's eyes. Sharing a sweet moment. "I found a way out!" Both souls sighed as their bubble popped around them at Shunsui's declaration.
"We should get going." Sakura looked over and was happy to see Starrk, Grimmjow, Lilynette, and Teir walking with her father. Nel was riding on Grimmjow's shoulders. "This place is about to be under a few miles of sand."
"Starrk-nii? What are you talking about?" Sakura got up and helped Jushiro to stand.
Nel perked up from her spot on Grimmjow's shoulder. "That thtupid Octo Ethpada bwoke the woof." She started flailing her hands around. "Thand ith filling up the 'all."
Sakura nodded as the small child spoke. "What happened to Nel-nee?" She followed Jushiro as he pulled her in the direction Starrk and Shunsui were heading in.
Grimmjow poked the chibi Espada so she would lower herself and not fall off. "The brat used too much reiatsu. She needs to keep a certain level in reserve to be able to keep her adult form. So she is going to be this little brat for a while." He growled as the child climbed onto his head on held on to his hair. "If you pull out any hairs I am tearing your fingers off."
Sakura giggled as the two began to argue. Grimmjow really was a big brother. She looked over at Jushiro as he threaded their fingers together. She gave him a smile as she gave his hand a squeeze.
Starrk returned his gaze from behind his shoulder to in front of him. "They are certainly close." He looked over at the man beside him. Kyroaku was looking ahead, but not really seeing anything. "What's on your mind?"
"She's all grown up." Shunsui gave his sleeping son a kiss on his head. "She's all grown up and taking care of herself. I may be her father, but she doesn't need me anymore."
"She still needs you." Starrk sighed at the man's statement. "As you said, she's your kid. And kids always need their parents." He looked back at the couple walking behind them. Sakura hand a wide smile on her face. "She may have another man in her life, but no one can replace her father."
Shunsui looked back and smiled at the sight of his daughter being happy. "Thank you, Starrk."
The two resumed their silent walking. The tunnel was brightening up ahead. They were coming out into the open expanse beneath the dome of Los Noches.
"Looks like you have work to do when we get back." Shunsui readjusted his son, he was staring to wake up.
Starrk chuckled as the infant began to squirm more. "And so do you, it would seem."
Their return to Seireitei was met with a large celebration. Their greatest enemy was vanquished, never to return. What better reason to party?
Sakura sat on a roof top as she watched the party go on. All of Seireitei was celebrating, in the streets, in the barracks, in the bars, and even in the offices. She could already picture her mother's arguments with her father about all the partying. It made her laugh.
"So this is where you have retreated to." Sakura looked up as Jushiro sat down beside her. "Lisa-san said you nearly bested Matsumoto in a drinking contest." Jushiro had been worried she would be like her mother when drunk, angry and unstoppable.
Sakura laughed as stretched her legs out. "Yeah, that woman can drink. But I was starting to feel a bit tipsy. And I hate being drunk. I am a total mess. Last time I woke up with two of my best friends in my bed. And we are all girls." Sakura shivered as she remembered Alice's reaction to waking up. The girl was insatiable.
Jushiro stared at Sakura in shock, she was like her father when drunk. "Looks like I will have to keep an eye on you if you ever plan to be drunk."
"If I ever do get drunk, please take me home and put me to bed." Sakura tensed as the words left her mouth. "You know...make sure I go to sleep...and stuff like that..." She could feel her cheeks redden the more she spoke. "Not that I'm against that...I'm not a virgin or anything...and...and...this is awkward..."
Jushiro chuckled as Sakura turned redder and redder. He tilted her head up and gave her a kiss. "I promise I'll take care of you." Sakura nodded and looked away, still embarrassed at her earlier words. "So what do you plan to do now? Aizen is gone and your brother is safe."
"But not the rest of my family." Sakura looked at the horizon, the sun was setting. "Starrk-nii said Henri got away. Which means he is still out there. And I am going to cleanse him." She looked over at Jushiro with determination.
Jushiro gave Sakura a smile as he placed his hand over hers. "Let me know where I can help. I will always be there to help you."
Sakura leaned into Jushiro a bit as she laid her head on his shoulder. "I know you will. It's going to take a while for Muso-ku to heal properly. Then I have to regain Bankai all over again. But I have the time to do it." She pulled away and looked up into Jushiro's eyes. "I have a lifetime to be with you."
Jushiro leaned down and pressed a short kiss onto Sakura's lips. "I'm looking forward to it." His eyes closed once more as Sakura pressed her lips against his in another kiss. This was just the beginning.
The End
For Now
Done! What did you think? Personally, as the author, I love this ending. I'm sorry I didn't add in Henri vs Starrk, Grimmjow, Tier, Lilynette, and Nel. If I had, I would have killed him, but Sakura has to kill him. So I left it out. Once again, I am sorry for that.
Let me know what you thought of the story. I did leave it open for a sequel, but right now I do not have plans for one. I might come back to it later, but right now you will just have to fantasize about what the sequel will be.
Thank you all for reading the story and for reviewing it. It is seriously what motivated me to finish it.
Please go to my page and check out the poll I have there. It has seriously been up since New Years and there is only 1 vote on it. It's depressing and discouraging.
Once again, Thank you so much! Love you all!
